What to expect when you come to the West Maui:

Keep in mind everything north and south of Lahaina Town is intact. That said most of of Lahaina Town is gone. So when you drive in via the Lahaina Bypass you will see some damage. Once you come down and get back on Honoapiilani Highway and go past Safeway (which is open) you will see what you have seen on TV. There’s nothing you can do but support those people now.

There are a few displaced families still at Honua Kai as the Resort really stepped up more than anyone else in offering temporary housing.

We hear all the time how much people love Maui, how they leave a little bit of their heart in Maui when the leave, and how Maui allows their family to connect or re-connect. The truth of the matter is that Maui needs you now more than ever to come and support its people, its shops and its restaurants. It will be appreciated.

This explanation may help since Honua Kai can be confusing. The construction of the Luana Townhouses is 100% complete, Honua Kai is now 700 individually owned condominiums that belong to a Homeowners Association. Honua Kai is not a hotel. Every owner chooses to either use the onsite management which is now Outrigger or they choose an outside rental company (ORC). Outrigger is not the "Resort" they're just the onsite managment company. Now they own the front desk area and some other areas at Honua Kai, but all guests have access to the pools, restaurant, stores, Spa, fitness center and concierge

Please take a look at our photos and you'll see that they are actual pictures of the unit and upon your arrival you will say that the pictures do not do this place justice. Also, know that this unit has the highly desirable 1315 sq ft floorplan. If you want to make your trip special this is the unit for you.

-We personally see that this unit is cleaned to our high standards.

-Use of swimming pool, exercise room, and concierge service. We also provide beach chairs, towels, boogie boards, paper products and binoculars.

-Charge all resort costs on your credit card.

-Our Aloha Welcome Package which includes coffee K-pods, Chilled Champagne, Hawaiian Chocolates, Tommy Bahama Shampoo and Soaps.

-Either the bellman or I will greet you at the bell desk and escort you to the unit.

-We want you happy and we want you back!

-We are fortunate to Live Aloha everyday and our goal is for our guests to Live Aloha while they are our guests. Whether it's just another trip to Maui or the only trip you'll ever take to Maui, our mission is to make it special.

The bellmen are all real good guys that work hard that are ready to assist you with your luggage up to the unit.

There will be a $5/day charge to valet park(if valet parking allowed), but self-parking is FREE. Only one car per unit is allowed in the underground parking garage. This is subject to change.

The condo is beautiful. The view it was amazing!! Everyday we saw so many whales playing all day. Tons of baby whales with their mom's. The furniture was upscale you can tell the owners took great care to select the very best. The kitchen completely stocked you could cook anything you want they thought of everything. Nice to have washer and dryer. Closet full of beach chairs etc. Beds were super comfy. I am picky and I found nothing wrong with the condo. Wishing everyone happy stays in Maui. Check in super easy with bellman. They are super nice. You can let them take your car or park in the underground parking. Never had a problem finding a parking spot at all Joe the owner was wonderful. He was available by text and answered right away. You definitely cannot go wrong with this condo. It is perfect.

Let me start by saying that we just stayed a week at this unit and this was our third VRBO stop across different Hawaiian islands. I’ll start with what we like about the stay - we liked the square footage of the unit as there was plenty of room for our family of 4. We liked the sunset views (visible from outside on the balcony). It was nice to have in suite washer/drier and appliances. What did we love about it - not much.. it was simply “ok”. The building is understaffed so features like valet are very inadequate and inefficient which is even further complicated by the serious lack of parking. The general property is in need of investment, maintenance, and renovation as most finishes are by my guess 20+ years old. The main elevators that service the traffic from the pool/beach back to the rooms are inadequate and you will likely find yourself waiting for long periods to catch a ride. On most days we were unable to find any place at the pool until late in the afternoon once the crowds cleared. Overall, this unit is nice, roomy, as advertised, and the manager was very easy to work with - the property/complex overall though was a bit underwhelming and seems to have not been designed for the amount of people that are moving through the premise.

My family and I just returned from one of our best vacations ever thanks to Joe and his magnificent condo. The location and amenities were sheer perfection….the view, breathtaking. The place was spotless and check-in and check-out was easy went smoothly. I can’t recommend this place enough and hope to return!

This was our second visit to Honua Kai. It has to be the most family friendly resort on Kaanapali. This unit is fantastic. Great views of the ocean! Watched the whales right from the balcony. Would definitely stay here again!

This is my favorite VRBO rental of all time. The condo is incredibly comfortable and well stocked and was the perfect place for our family of 4 to enjoy a week in Maui. I was really impressed with how quiet and private the condo felt, despite being part of a large complex. The bedrooms are large and spacious and each have their own bathroom. The living space and kitchen were very large and comfortable also- and we really appreciated the washer and dryer in the unit. The lanai was lovely and you cannot beat the view. We also really enjoyed all the amenities at Honua Kai- the pools, hot tubs, exercise room, Duke’s restaurant were all great. Also loved being able to walk out the door and take a walk on the beach or boardwalk. You can even snorkel in the water at the point and see lots of fish and coral! On site parking was also great- and even when the parking deck was full at night we were able to find street parking not too far away. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in Maui. We loved our time there.

Honestly, this was the best view we’ve had at a Maui rental. So gorgeous!! Communication with Joe was easy and he was quick to reply. The unit was clean and well kept. The only con’s with our stay was that we wish there were more coffee mugs and other glasses. But overall, amazing!

Our family (husband, 1yr old, mother in law, and sister in law) had a wonderful stay at honua Kai in Konea 703. The views are outstanding and you have a completely unobstructed view of the ocean and gorgeous sunset. Thank you to Joe and his team as they were very responsive and helpful getting baby supplies to the room at the time of check in (pack n play and high chair) and had good communication throughout our stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone and would definitely stay again! Thank you Joe!

Only positives for this unit. We have been to Maui 5 times. Stayed at Hanua Kai 3 of those trips. This is the best unit we have stayed in. Perfect view, clean and comfortable lodging, close to everything we like to do. Already planning our return!

Beautiful Honua Kai Resort and Spa! We stayed for a week in condo #K703! Host, Joe, was amazing at communication and letting us know where to navigate the island. Maui is gorgeous. Can not say enough about the condo! Everything we needed in condo was provided. Very clean and stunning views. Duke’s restaurant was on premises and was very convenient. Multiple pools with direct beach access. Would definitely recommend this resort and condo! Thank you, Joe!

This property has everything a family needs to enjoy a relaxing vacation in Maui. The view from the lanai was absolutely amazing. My fondest memories on our trip was sitting out on the lanai drinking coffee or a glass of wine. The unit was extremely clean and well stocked with everything needed to cook and entertain our family of 6. Joe was an excellent host and readily available if needed. The Honua Kai resort was very nice and we enjoyed time at the beach and in the pools/spas. I could see staying here and never having to leave the property, because everything is right there. It is also in close proximity to many fun activities for the family. I can’t wait to come back.

This was a great place to stay for family and for kids. Our view made this trip. Morning coffee and dinner, on the lanai, watching the sun set were so enjoyable and relaxing. Our condo was the perfect size for the 5 of us. Great kitchen, games to play, water toys for the beach, all nice touches to make for a great vacation! Highly recommend!

Joe was a great host and our room was wonderful. The view is spectacular and the resort pools are great too. The beach area is small and somewhat rocky so we ended up going about 6 minutes away to Whalers Village for beach time. We enjoyed our stay!
