Bright, newly renovated and fully furnished. Access via side of west side house, has its own separate, private patio. Full kitchenette, bathroom and in-suite laundry. Secure access through private path and patio.
Convenient location close to 33rd & Mackenzie Street gives you access to shops and transit - 200 feet from bus stop with 1-stop bus to downtown Vancouver, beaches, UBC, Pacific Spirit Park and other great amenities. There is street parking available for 1 vehicle in front of The Suite. More than 1 guest car becomes a little inconvenient for our neighbours, so we ask that if you have a vehicle, that you please park it directly in front of The Suite. City street parking in our neighbourhood is free of charge.
Radiant floor heating and modern bathroom and kitchen. There's a full fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer in suite.

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights in this comfortable basement suit with our almost-2-yr-old. The location was excellent, with easy access to transit, street parking out front, and plenty of amenities within walking distance (including a park for the little one). The unit was clean and very well equipped, and the temperature remained comfortable even during a fairly warm week. Our host was gracious and friendly, greeting us as we arrived and touring us around the unit to make sure we were comfortable. They checked in on us a couple of times during our stay as our paths crossed to ensure we had everything we needed, and communication was great both before and during the stay. We feel that we really lucked out finding this listing! It was so much more comfortable for our little family than a hotel would have been.

Chrystal and Shawn were incredible hosts. They really went out of their way to accommodate me. Their property was amazing and easy to get around the city from their location. The linens and towels were high thread count and crisp white. Bed ultra comfy as was the apartment’s design. Fully loaded kitchen and bathroom. Lovely to have the French doors open and to hear the water fountain in the garden on my little patio. I can’t wait to return next week after Van Island.

Great place! I enjoyed being in a quiet neighborhood. Close to a coffee shop and local grocery. Only a 12 to 15 min. drive to downtown. The owners were also amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

We had such a wonderful stay in Shawn’s basement suite. The place was very tidy and spacious, and Shawn had a box of chocolates and teas and coffee waiting for us upon arrival. He was very friendly, responsive and helpful, and offered us herbs from his garden! The neighbourhood was beautiful and very safe, with lots of cute cafes nearby and is not far from kits beach. I will definitely be back!!

I booked this accommodation for my 2 nieces (ages 16 and 23) from Germany. This is what they had to say:
"Our stay at Shawn's and Crystal's place was very pleasant. The flat was very clean and very well equipped. The kitchen had all necessary items to cook and there was even a washing machine and dryer for laundry in the flat. There was also a cute little "back porch" to sit outside of the flat when the weather was nice.
Shawn was a very kind and caring host. He thoroughly explained everything in the flat to us and offered us to contact him at any time when we had any questions. He also gave us advice on which places were worth seeing in Vancouver as we were there for pleasure. As two young girls, we felt very safe and well taken care of. Unfortunately, we had rainy weather during our stay which Shawn felt very sorry for. At our departure, he offered us a lift to the city centre. As we weren't able to see many beautiful places of the city due to the rain, he gave us a long "sight seeing" tour through Vancouver on the way to the city center, so we could at least see them once from the car. He really went above and beyond in making sure we had a good experience! Despite the rain, we had a great time in beautiful Vancouver. Highly recommend, as it is a neat place with very kind and caring hosts."

The location was in the tranquil neighborhood of Mackenzie Heights. Lovely homes on a very quiet street. The kitchen was small but functional. Great for preparing breakfast and making lunch for our day’s activities. As we didn’t have a vehicle, we were able to locate an EVO car within a few blocks from our accommodation.
The bedroom was small but comfortable. The temperature was just right for a good night's sleep.
Our friendly hosts were always available for inquiries. They even provided a lovely bottle of brut rosé for my wife’s 60th birthday.
We would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the beautiful city of Vancouver.

Visited my daughter at UBC for a week. The place is perfectly suited for one or two people and ideally located to visit UBC and explore Vancouver! Cozy place, well stocked with everything you need. Cooked for my daughter on the last night there. Shawn was a great host and his black cat made my day!
Great bread shop, specialty grocery and cafe very nearby. They open later in the morning so adjust your schedule as required. Overall, I’ll be coming back!

Exactly what we needed after travelling for 3 weeks to recharge and have a comfy stay with all the amenities in this beautifully appointed accomodation. It has such a nice feel.

Clean suite, everything you need is available, hosts are very responsive to issues/questions. It could use a little soundproofing above the bedroom (can hear hosts walking around upstairs in what is likely their kitchen) but if you are a sound sleeper, you shouldn't have a problem. I would definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful week in Vancouver while staying at Shawn and Chrystal's basement suite. The location is really beautiful and was great for walks in the neighbourhood, with a nearby park and field. It's just around the corner from a small grocery store, coffee shop and bakery which was super convenient, and it's a very short drive to Kitsilano and all the shops located there. The size of the unit was perfect for us as a family of 3, our 2 year old slept confortably on the futon. It was well stocked and had everything we needed. I highly recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when we visit friends in Vancouver.

My husband and I spent 6 nights in Shawn’s one bedroom basement apartment. It had everything we needed. Clean, comfortable and spacious. There are a couple of bakeries and a grocery store within a minute’s walk. It’s in a beautiful, safe neighborhood and so close to many tourist attractions. A great place to stay on your vacation to Vancouver. Thank you Shawn for sharing your home.

Pride of ownership is evident here and Shawn and Crystal are always within reach for any help along with great advice. The is is a great neighbourhood, with a coffee and bake shop, as well as a bakery and sandwich shop and a butcher, all within a block and easy access to major cross town travel routes, UBC and other amenities. We hope to return soon to this spotless, cozy location.

I stayed here with my husband and 4 year old for 2 weeks.
The accommodation is lovely; it's comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Shawn was a great host, always happy to provide anything we needed and answer questions. The location is nice and quiet, a few minutes walk to a nice bakery, a cafe and a lovely grocery store. Also, only a 10 minute drive up to Kitsilano for shops and restaurants on W 4th and the beach.
I would not hesitate to recommend this place. If we return to Vancouver, we would certainly want to stay here again!

The suite is exactly as pictured and described. Spotless and well equipped. Shawn is definitely a "super host". He went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Great location, close to transit, quiet neighbourhood. The perfect spot for two long time friends visiting their old "stomping" grounds. I really can't say enough about this lovely suite. Highly recommend for a stay in Vancouver!

My partner (age 83) and myself (age 73) chose this suite in particular because of ease from/to airport; and the safe/peaceful neighbourhood. We rented a vehicle & had no issues with parking on the street. Everything met our expectations except the lack of comfort on the pull-out couch. If you use the bed only for sleeping, you will dream like a baby as it is super comfortable. We took turns on the couch to make it more bearable (especially for folks of our age). Check in & out was easy. Thank you Shawn for your kindness.

The suite was fantastic. It was well stocked with kitchen items and while a smaller suite the set up was efficient and made it seem larger. Very modern appliances and decorated beautifully. The hosts were fantastic, available and helpful. The neighbourhood is safe and beautiful. Only a block away are bakeries and a high end grocery store.
