My wife and I rented this beach bungalow for 2 months. We were at the edge of the beach, but with privacy and a view that simply couldn't be beaten. Sunsets were the best we've ever seen on a regular basis, and the Gastel's are now likely to be friends forever. To put it simply, we had a great time.

Before you rent this property, be sure you understand how small 550 sq. ft. Is. The second bedroom (which also houses the laundry) is more a hallway between the kitchen and the sitting area. The kitchen has no cupboards or shelves to hold food, so we wound up using the mantelpiece and the kitchen table. This was awkward, since (at 2ft. by 5ft.) the table is the only surface nearly large enough to play board games or work crossword puzzles. There are views of the water from each room, but from the deck you look straight at the garbage dumpster for the neighborhood, and the windows on the other side look directly at the port-a-potties for the public beach. It appears that fewer than half the pictures included in the listing were taken from the property itself. The owner is gracious and the decor is pleasant, but it took us half a day to get TV service, and 2 days to get internet, which was weak and spotty at best. We never understood why a such a large security deposit was required, and after 2 weeks, it still has not been returned.

The cottage is in a lovely gated community right on the beach. One of the amenities of the cottage was air conditioning. It only had one air conditioner on the floor of one of the bedrooms which was in the way of getting into bed. My husband has COPD so unfortunately we could not stay there. Our 3 adult children and their friends enjoyed the place. They did a lot of swimming, fishing off the jetty and kayaking. And we enjoyed spending many days there. The owners were very nice and accommodating. They did install a new window air conditioner in the bedroom the second week.

My wife and I stayed at Susan and Jonathan's lovely little beach house in September. The beach house is located in a beautiful little gated community. Many of the houses are close together but this gem was located at the end right next to the beach so we had total privacy! The walk to the beach was less than a minute and you have an ocean view right from the deck. The lighthouse is close nearby and there is a gorgeous overlook to watch the sunrise/sunset from. The house itself was well-equipped with the necessities (bring your own beach towels but that's no biggie) and very cute. We had a couple of friends stay with us one night during our stay and there was more than enough sleeping space between the bedroom, twin, and pullout futon. Susan was extremely accommodating, always making sure to check in to see if we needed anything while at the same time providing us with our privacy. It really was a great escape and truly a little piece of paradise!

Perfect location. The house made a cozy home for us while we were in town. Our family loved it. Kids spent every second they could taking walks along the shore & exploring the area. Definitely will be back!

So close to the private beach and lighthouse. 180 degrees ocean view is no exaggeration! Such beautiful sun rises and sun sets. Owners are very easy to get in touch and communicate with. We really enjoyed our stay (even in October)!

From waking with the sun rise to saying goodbye to the sun in the evening this beach and cottage is everything any beach lover can ask for. My family and I have stayed in this cottage for the past 4 Augusts and we love it. Easily sleeps 8 people. The addition of the outdoor shower is a welcome improvement. The private beach is never crowded and the neighbors are wonderful. Jonathan and Susan are wonderful, generous people to rent from and truly care about their cottage and renters. The kitchen has everything you will ever need to make that fresh steamed lobster dinner you are planning. There are at least 8 great restaurants within a 2 mile radius of the beach. A trip to Crazy Burger in Old Town Narragansett is a must for breakfast. If you are looking for entertainment you are 20 minutes from Mystic Aquarium, the Connecticut casinos, or Newport and Providence Rhode Island. This is truly my family’s home away from home. Thank you Susan and Jonathan for all you did for us this year and we can’t wait to see you again next year. Suzi

The view doesn't get any better than this when you wake up in the morning! This cozy cottage was perfect for my family of five. We enjoyed a beautiful beach and views, outside barbeques, boiled lobsters, and daily walks for ice cream. It was a tremendously relaxing and fun week. I look forward to our return!
