About this house rental
We love our house. We have been going to this house on the Cape for 35 years and would like to share it with you. Located on a quiet, shady, sand road. Great for relaxing, reading, listening to quiet music, playing croquet, picnicking, etc. When you do decide to venture out, there are lots of close options such as the National Seashore beaches, the bay beaches, the Massachusetts Audubon Society trails, the Cape Cod Rail Trail, hiking trails, shopping, miniature golf, the local drive-in movie, a Cape Cod Baseball game and lots more. Close to the regional high school and lower cape conference centers.
This single-story house has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, kitchen and a family room/dining area. The kitchen is fully-equipped and has a dishwasher. There is a washing machine and dryer in the basement. An outdoor shower and a detached garage are helpful additions. For hot summer days, the house has central air conditioning.
At the bay beach, a half mile away and a nice after-dinner walk, the sunsets are spectacular. Each one is unique and it's a treat to watch the sun set over the water. Also, if you are up early enough, you can drive or bike over to the National Seashore and watch the sun rise over the ocean and then head to the local coffee shop for your morning coffee.
Great for visiting therapy and education professionals attending Eastham summer symposia.

Quiet place, all comfort,, fully equip. Near bay beaches.

House was very clean. The house has updated kitchen and bathroom and adds to the charm. Easy walk to the beach where beautiful sunsets can be watched. We had some rainy days and having a large table to work on puzzles was great we bought our own but there are some challenging ones there and all pieces counted for!! So many beaches close by

Overall very nice house and enjoyable stay. I didn't see the washer and dryer so assumed there was not one until I read through the paperwork, it was a bit of detective work to find the key and unlock the "trap" doors outside of the house leading to the basement, and steep steps going down. Only 1 roll of toilet paper in the house.

Great find. Easy access to surounding areas. Cute and clean. Beth was great with her communication.

We’ve been here twice and plan to come again. Good location, well stocked kitchen, kid and adult bikes, beach toys/inner tubes, and A/C. We can spread out in the different rooms. We could use the outdoor shower a bit after checkout to extend time in the water. Easy walk or bike ride to the beach for sunsets.

Location is just perfect, near public beach and not too far from National Seashore beaches. House was super-clean and had all we needed. Even had the chance to see a tortoise on the porch on the first day. Recommended !

We came from Connecticut to spend the Memorial Day Weekend with our 13 year old daughter. This was our first time ever on the Cape. We enjoyed every minute of it! The house is great- exactly as posted and described and very clean and well equipped and everything is in working order. Kitchen and bathroom super good and clean and spacious. Nice family room and living room and two really nicely sized bedrooms. The owners are very easy to communicate with! The house is really in walking distance to the beach (easy walk no more than 10 minutes) which is really a very nice beach with opportunities for long walks. The neighborhood is safe and quiet and peaceful and clean. Ideal for getting away from the hustle and bustle. We loved every minute of our stay and we will back for sure. Highly recommended- you can’t go wrong with this house and the location. Close to restaurants and close to National Seashore and other attractions such as whale watching.

Lovely house, nicely renovated kitchen and bath, very comfortable for our family. Walkable to Sunken Meadow Beach for beautiful sunsets. Easy drives to ocean beaches, lobster pounds, and the drive-in! Beth was the perfect host. Will look forward to another visit.

The quintessential New Englander salt box cape-style home was a peaceful respite only a short skip to plenty of beaches. We booked here because you never know what Mother Nature would bring and wanted to relax in a place with all the comforts of home and plenty of good music, board games, books, etc. to enjoy should the weather take a turn for the worse. However, the weather was spectacular and we spent little time in the home, but when we did, we had all we needed for hearty cooking on site and LOTS of great suggestions from the host to make our trip one of the most memorable vacations we've had as a family of three. We'd definitely return. Thanks to our hosts for making our stay feel like home!

We want to thank Beth for allowing us to stay at the perfect Cape house. A beautiful updated kitchen, a nice family room and the perfect sunroom to relax with our morning coffee, a book or a family game night! We had the most wonderful time in this perfect house!

Loved the location, perfectly in between Chatham and Provincetown and short drive to beautiful beach and lighthouse. The house is very clean and felt very safe. Does not come with any bedsheets or linens, which is kind of a bummer when you’re flying in from afar and trying to pack light but otherwise no complaints!

Quintessential cape house cottage. 10 min walk to the beach and had everything we needed for our stay. Would stay again!

Nice newly renovated open kitchen and bathroom. Great town for the best of National Seashore beaches. We loved the enclosed porch and playing Scrabble. Even spent some time in the yard playing croquet and we grilled out back- which is exciting for city apartment dwellers like us. I like that the TV is very small and old which encourages other activities. Wi-fi is solid. thanks Beth!

Great place to stay, lots of extras provided for your trip to the beach - even a warm outdoor shower! A bit Difficult to find initially as it is down a dirt track but easy to access after you’ve found it.

Had a great time with my family. The Bay is a short walk away, the National Seashore is less than a 5 minute drive, great resteraunts and drive in movie theater near by. You can bike to resteraunts but the roads are narrow. It is a half hour from P-Town and about a half hour from Chatham.

The property was great. The host responsive. I asked about an Irish m before I got there and she said she would order one from Amazon. I told her it wasn’t necessary. She allowed us an esrlyy to check in. Would definitely rent again.

The house had an odor that was a bit annoying.
Kitchen was great the “old” smell in the house reeked havoc on my allergies.

Disappointing, dark, and too dirty
Given the care of all other houses in the neighborhood, the extremely dirty façade of this house, the lack of upkeep to its surroundings and the misrepresentation of both the safety and basic cleanliness of the bikes and cobweb- covered-apparently-leftover-garage-sale sporting equipment in the garage really are misleading. The owner requires that you only use the back entrance because the front door is covered in two inches of grime and the side entrance is rusted shut. The kitchen, roof and bathroom are all recently remodelled and look like they belong in a totally different house. The living room is extremely dark with only two dimly lit lamps and almost four square feet of space taken up by a record-playing console and records you can't play because the record player broke years ago. The furninture is also crowded into the living room with a very long tablecloth hanging over a much smaller table that is backed into a wall. There is no room for it so why have it? It only makes the living room feel as if the owners are using part of the cottage to store old stuff they have simply not wanted to get rid of or move.
Do not try to shift the gears on any of the bikes and whatever you do, do NOT use the bright yellow one for women: the chain pops off at any time and it is dangerous to use. That the owner makes a lot of renters' access to these bikes, the dirty croquet set (which I cleaned) and the netless, mildewy badminton set sets expectations that they will provide pleasure and be safe to use. Neither proved true. Expectations of this type are easily and quickly dashed. The owner also expects you to do a lot of work, cleaning and purchasing of everything that you might use. This might be okay if she were talking about oregano but she proudly confirms in writing that you are due only one roll of toilet paper and one roll of paper towels. So, if you are staying for 9 nights as I was, you have to shop. The first item on the check-out list is "Finish cleaning the cottage." Since the family room to the side of the kitchen is bright and retro, one sees the thin layer of dust that covers the books, book shelf, seating and lamps. It is disconcerting to discover that one has to pay a very high cleaning fee, although parts of the cottage/garage and bikes all need cleaning. The kitchen was also dotted with ant traps, stuck to the floor every two to three feet. Why not get regular extermination service? Why not powerwash the house? INVEST, please, in basics!

Cozy,Clean Cottage
Cottage was spotless and very well equipped. Kitchen and bathroom were updated. Located on the bay side, off of a quiet dirt road, it was a short ride to Nauset Light Beach. Owners were easy to communicate with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Relaxing getaway
We were very pleased with our stay in this lovely home. Everything was clean, and Beth was very quick to respond to any questions. The house is in a terrific location near the Cape Cod National Seashore beaches as well as the beaches on the bay. It is also near the rail trail for some excellent biking. The area is quiet, yet it is easy to get around for beaches and dining. We did not need to use the central air as it cooled off at night. The newly remodeled kitchen is beautiful, and the bed was comfortable. Both showers (indoor and out) worked well. It is a very relaxing place in a beautiful part of the Cape!

Great location
We had a great Cape-escape in a perfect location for us - we try to avoid getting in the car during our Cape time, so being able to bike almost everywhere except the grocery store was a huge plus. We biked to the rail trail, of course (alas, it ends south of Wellfleet!), but also to Marconi Beach, Nauset Light, Cape Cod Light, and even down as far as Dennis one day; to mini golf, the flea market, ice cream, and the Audubon nature preserve just north of us.
The neighborhood is QUIET at night, a real blessing. Bugs weren't even bad, apart from the !@#$ horseflies at the beach. Sunken Meadow Beach is good for swimming, though there is no lifeguard, so keep close to the shore during high tide. Low tide is great for beachcombing and investigating critters in the tidepools.
The house itself is well-kept, and fits the description accurately - apart from the bed in the master bedroom, which is closer to a double than a queen, by any modern definition, and was a tight squeeze since one of us is 6'3".
The outdoor shower was great - and the only one we used. The yard was a bit neglected. Supplies for cooking (indoors and out) are all provided. The washer and dryer operated just fine, as did the dishwasher, and the house has central air, a real luxury for the Cape; we only needed it when the humidity crept up on us, which was rare.
This is a definite yes for families who want the dual bayside/oceanside beach experience - bonus if you are cyclists!

Wonderful stay!
Beth’s cottage is a hidden gem! It was perfect for our family of four to enjoy a few days on the Cape. The cottage has a classic summer cottage feel with the convenience of an updated kitchen and all the amenities a family needs for a vacation- including beach chairs, bikes, an outdoor shower, and more. My boys loved playing games in the family room and kicking a ball in the backyard. We loved it here and hope to stay again!
