About this house rental
Do you like your dessert first? Do you like the sweet taste of paradise? Then our “Cupcake” is for you! This delightfully sweet 3 bedroom, 2 ½ bath private home at 11461 Dickey Lane is situated on the quiet side of Captiva Village and close to everything. The Village is known for its restaurants, shops and easy beachy atmosphere. Our “Cupcake” is an easy walk down Laika Lane to the beautiful white sand beach and a half block walk to the bay.
You will enjoy the many delightful colors of “Cupcake”. Swim in your own large heated and caged pool or enjoy the relaxation of the hot tub. You can read a book on the large back deck overlooking the pool area or have breakfast watching the world go by on the front deck.
Inside “Cupcake” the cathedraled ceiling family room has comfortable furniture with a large screen TV, DVD Player, Wi-Fi and a Sonos speaker system. The house was professionally designed and completely updated in 2012 and lovingly maintained. The 3 bedrooms, painted in fun and whimsical colors, are spacious and each includes a flat screen TV. Bedroom 1 has a King bed, bedroom 2 has two twin beds (which can be converted to a King on request) and, located on the opposite side of the house, the private master suite has a new King bed and private en-suite. These bedrooms will have you sweetly dreaming of the memories you’ve made today and the memories you’ll make tomorrow. Check out the yummy and colorful countertops in each bathroom and the kitchen. You’ll smile every time you see them!
Speaking of the large airy kitchen, it is fully equipped and has a breakfast bar area and a separate dine in area. The full-size washer and dryer are near the Kitchen. A gas BBQ grill is waiting for your use in the fully screened lanai.
As in a real cupcake, it’s not all about the icing, the cake underneath the icing is also enjoyable. Our “Cupcake” is no exception. There is ample parking. The fully screened ground floor pool area is a great gathering space for conversation, playing cards, games or enjoying your favorite beverage as you watch the swimmers in the pool. And you will appreciate the large covered area for fun and games in case of inclement weather or to escape the Florida sun for an afternoon nap! With this “Cupcake” you can enjoy the whole thing….with no calories!
Once you arrive at “Cupcake” park your car and leave it until it is time to go back to reality. Remember, “Cupcake” is a short walk to the beach and the bay. Walk to famous Andy Rosse Lane with its restaurants and shops. “Cupcake” includes a selection of beach toys, coolers, chairs, beach umbrellas and beach towels. A beach cart is provided to make the short trek to the beach very easy. Also, you can rent bicycles, surfboards and other fun beach toys at Yolo. How about renting a boat for the day at Jensen’s Marina? Cruise to North Captiva Island for lunch and dolphin and manatee watching. Keep in mind that it is only a short walk to everything that the Village offers.
Some visitors like to see the sun rise on the bay side…..we prefer to watch the sun set on the beach. Take a cooler, set up the beach chairs and take a lot of beautiful pictures as the sun sets over the gulf off the island of Captiva. Then pack up and take a stroll to the Mucky Duck, the Bubble Room or other delicious restaurants nearby, many of which have outdoor dining and live music.
In the morning you might like to take a short walk to Starbucks for your favorite coffee. Enjoy it there, or on the sunny front deck of “Cupcake”.

Our family of 6 (kids aged 8, 13, 16, 18) had an amazing time at Cupcake. The property was clean and had everything we needed and more. The outdoor area is awesome with the pool, games, and spacious lounge area. We ate dinners on the upper deck with the fans providing plenty of breeze. The location is perfect with just a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Each morning I walked to the marina to see the manatees as the sun rose, then hit Boops or Starbucks for coffee. Evenings were spent on the beach watching the sunset. You can’t go wrong staying at this property!

My parents, I and my 2 children (11 & 5) had the most perfect spring break swimming in the pool, hanging in the hot tub and relaxing.
The house is beautifully decorated and is equipped with anything you could need for your stay.
The beach is amazing and just a quick walk away.

We have stayed on Captiva and the Santiva portion of Sanibel many times. This property was perfect for all our needs. Four weeks and have reserved if for winter 2025.

The house is just right for a couple or small family. Bedrooms are nicely separated with the kitchen/family great room in the middle. The screened pool is fully attached to the upper deck and the lower level is the perfect activity area directly connected to the pool and spa.

What a wonderful property
We just finished a week stay at Cupcake, and we had such a good time. The house is located a short walk from not only the beach, but two local grocery stores (perfect for last minute supplies), restaurants, coffee, shopping, etc.... As a matter of fact, we only needed to drive twice, and that was for more serious grocery runs.
And aside from the fantastic location, the house is truly wonderful. We loved the layout of the home, how nicely appointed it is, and the owners have clearly thought through what kind of items need to be accessible for a beach vacation. We had everything we needed available to us.
We have stayed at VRBO listed homes before, but this is only the second time we agreed on wanting to return to this specific property, as our time there was so special. Thank you very much.

Cupcake is a Delight!
This house is an absolute beach charmer. Cupcake provided our family of five with comfortable and whimsical accommodations. The location is ideal! A short and enjoyable walk to restaurants, shopping, and the beach. The pool and outdoor living area offered a large and relaxing space to unwind after long days of shell hunting. We are already looking forward to making plans to return and would be thrilled to have a second serving of Cupcake!

Lovely house
We all enjoyed cupcake, the pool was a big hit with the little ones. Great location and I would recommend a golf cart though walking was pretty easy. Captiva farmers market a must. I believe it is in Tuesdays.

Fantastic Home
What a fantastic property!! It had everything we needed and more! We loved the pool and hot tub. The property was spotless! The location was perfect for the restaurants and shops in Captiva. Marsha was a pleasure to deal with and was very quick to reply to any questions and gave us lots of information on what was going on in Captiva whilst we were there. I would have no hesitation in recommending Cupcake to anyone and I will certainly be coming back to this wonderful home!

What a great house. The walk to the beach is a breeze. You don’t need a car once you are there - everything you could want to do is walking distance. Love love loved this house.

Great vacation home.
We loved our stay at the Cupcake house. The house was clean, the amenities were great, the location was awesome!
We loved everything about about the place. One thing that, I don't fault the owners for but would have liked it to be a little more conspicuous was that the house does not stock even salt and pepper. I think I read somewhere it had something to do with the food health code or something. We just didn't get any on our first run to the grocery store and would have had we noticed that.
We stayed a week at the cupcake house. It was a quick 5 min scenic walk to the beach. We did end up purchasing a machete from Walmart and left it there for those that need to crack open a coconut they might find on the premises. as well as some decks of cards. Overall, we had a great time and would consider it again in the future.

Perfect getaway
We had an amazing stay in Captiva! We loved everything about the cupcake! It was a short beautiful stroll to the beach, we used bikes to get anywhere we needed, we walked to dinner at the bubble room and Keylime. We came home every night to a beautiful, spacious, clean home. We loved the pool and hot tub. We used them every single day! They have games and everything you need for the beach. If you’re looking for a house that has it all, look no further!!

Beautiful House and Excellent Location
My family loved our stay at the Cupcake House. It was perfect for the 4 of us. The house was clean and we'll kept. It also came with all the amenities that you would need for a beach vacation. My daughter's loved having a pool/whirlpool on site and used it regularly. The beach and any restaurants are in easy walking distance. Though, with a kitchen and grill in the house, we ate in most of the time.

Cupcake was a dream!
The cupcake house was everything and more. Perfect location- a very short walk to the beach that my 3 year old could do no problem. Tons of sand toys, coolers, umbrella, chairs, swim rafts, baby floats! Literally you need to bring nothing for the beach or pool. The pool and hot tub was seriously the best. The water temp was so comfortable not too cold at all! Hot tub amazing. The house was beautiful. Again has everything. Baby chairs for meals, toys, books, games, all the kitchen utensils. The kids and adults had literally one of the best vacations ever. Can’t wait to visit again!!!

Pool & Jacuzzie great / we rented bikes for this short trip to the beach so it wasn’t bad just to put stuff in the basket and a beach chair and head out tons of equipment at the house very cute decorations! No complaints & Location until all the restaurants and little area was perfect

Adorable!
Just came home from the cupcake house with my husband and 3 kids and we all had a great time! The house was so adorable and colorful and very clean. The pool was heated to the perfect temperature so it always was easy to get into, unlike many other homes I've rented. The jacuzzi was a nice plus also! The only thing I was surprised by, was that the master bathroom has no door? Other then that, the house was perfect!

Fun family getaway at The Cupcake House
Such a fun and happy house for a family vacation with our adult children. Surrounded by lush tropical trees and landscaping, this was a great escape from the cold Kentucky weather. The pool and hot tub were a big hit with the family, but we were also a short 5 minute walk to the beach and to some nice restaurants. The home is colorful and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay there. Thanks for some great family memories!

Our family of 4 enjoyed a week at Cupcake house. The layout was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the beach cart and supplies in the activity closet were great for the short walk to the beach. Great proximity to walk to restaurants in the village. Wonderful house and location!
We loved our stay at Cupcake! The house was nicely furnished, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, and there was a great supply of chairs, sand toys, etc., for our ventures down to the beach. Perfect location, too. The cupcake house was perfect for our family. Super clean, had everything we needed, and the pool/lower outdoor living area was awesome. The garage was fully stocked with beach gear and a cooler. Cheerful Retreat!
We had a wonderful Christmas at this cheerful property! It's located on a lovely lane with plenty of privacy due to the beautiful palms and mature tropical foliage! It was perfect for the season and convenient to everything - restaurants, shops, biking, boat rentals, etc. The beach is just a block away and a beach cart is provided to take chairs, cooler and umbrella (also provided). The house is well-stocked as well and the heated pool/spa are beautiful and relaxing with a half-bath and plenty of seating to enjoy. We loved the whimsical decor and colorful accessories! Perfect for chasing away the winter blues!! Thank you for a wonderful stay! (P.S. We saw absolutely NO sign of red tide and we had monitored closely leading up to our visit. Beaches were beautiful and waters were clear.)

My family of 6 - my husband, daughter and 3 grandchildren (ages 15, 8, and 1) and me loved everything about this fun home! The pool, the colors, the location! Very well appointed - we lacked for nothing. If I could get my family together every year like this year, this would be “our place”. It is convenient to shopping and restaurants but this home has its privacy too.
