Aloha & welcome to Honu Hale, your home away from home, where the Hawaiian sea turtles throughout the home will not only bring you good luck, but according to Hawaiian legends will serve as guardians throughout your stay. Our home sleeps 4 comfortably with one queen and one double bed. The Hawaiian style and comfortable furnishings are perfect for a family, two couples, friends, or a romantic getaway. Two big-screen TV's and wifi mean the whole family can relax and watch their favorite programs and stay caught up with social media. A welcome gift of some tasty treats from around the islands, and cold bottled water in the refrigerator await your arrival. Located at over 3000 feet elevation- you will enjoy evening tropical breezes and tranquil, cooler temperatures, but still, be just a short drive to get to world-famous beaches.

In the bathroom, you will find luxury bath towels and toiletries you may use during your stay including shampoo and conditioner, lotion, sunscreen, Q-tips, cotton balls, after sun aloe, and other necessities.

The Hawaiian decor continues in the bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a Queen sized bed and large screen TV. The second bedroom is bright and comfortable with one double bed and lots of sunlight. Boogie Boards, beach chairs, snorkel gear, and a cooler are provided for your use while you stay.

The kitchen has all high-end appliances and is equipped with everything you could need to stay in and BBQ or create your own gourmet meal. We hope you will enjoy the attention to detail and our attempt to make your stay comfortable and relaxing.

Midway between Hilo and Kona, Honu Hale is conveniently located close to waterfalls, beaches, zip-lining, golfing, and hiking. A day trip to Volcano National park is a once in a lifetime adventure, and Waimea is a great starting point. Tour Parker Ranch located right in Waimea. It is the largest cattle ranch in the country. Waipio Valley is just a 15-minute drive away and boasts stunning views, and a private beach bottom on the hike. Waimea is Paniolo country (Hawaiian cowboys) and is a perfect place to do some horseback riding, or if you are visiting during the 4th of July, the Parker Ranch Rodeo is a must! Don't forget to stop at one of the three farmers' markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays to pick up locally grown produce, and hand made local items and souvenirs!

Mahalo & Aloha, We hope to see you soon, and you will enjoy your relaxing stay so much you will return for years to come. STVR-19-364059

This was the perfect location for me to visit family in Waimea. Definitely not a “tourist type” location unless you want a beautiful base camp to explore the North end. Cooler weather, but 15-20 miles gets you 15-20 degrees in temperature. Excellent accommodations and just as the pictures show.

Robyn's place is very spacious and located in a quiet safe neighborhood. She supplied many extras like; beach equipment, shampoo, conditioner and sunscreen. We really appreciated the delicious welcome goodies. Communication with Robyn was excellent. She was very responsive and flexible to our changing needs. Mahalo Robyn.

Overall the property is nice and worked for my long stay. There were a few issues but Kathy was very responsive and got us fix up quickly. The only negatives would be when the upstairs unit is rented... they can be rather loud "walkers" and the beds really could use new mattresses. They have added pillow toppers but they are way too soft & no support. Those are the only reason for a 4 star instead of a 5. I would absolutely rent it again..

Quiet beautiful place and a little up the road were the clouds every morning. The temperatures are not so high as it’s at medium elevations. What an awesome place. Waimea is a good starting point for exploring the island in all directions.

This place, overall, has been fine. After staying in two places on the Big Island just before coming here that we’re amazing ( charming, beautiful both inside and out), this one does not compare. But, it is clean, spacious, and acceptable. Pros are a well-stocked kitchen ( for cooking or not), well-stocked bathroom. The driveway and outside look quite tired, as do the beds and bedding ( the beds are like sleeping in marshmallows). If you like really soft beds you’ll like them. There is a nice welcome basket on the table with chips and candy. There is an apartment upstairs and as a consequence there is noise if it is occupied that comes through floors. Carpet up there might help with that. There are also ice chests on the porch that can be used, as well as new snorkeling equipment and beach/lawn chairs and umbrellas. All in all, more pros than cons.

We were looking for an affordable longer term rental in this particular area. The property met our needs. The owner was very responsive to our requests when needed.

Nice location. Almost daily drizzle. Temps 70-75 vs the beaches 80-90. Not fancy, but was very clean on the inside. I would stay again
