Marty’s Place is the perfect getaway overlooking the beautiful Ocean Beach tide pools. The ocean view from the cliff tops doesn’t get much better than this. We enjoyed our stay immensely and appreciated the closeness to so many activity and dining options. Marty’s Place was clean, with ample supplies. Marty was very communicative and quick to answer questions and provide anything we needed.

In town for USMC graduation and the owner Marty was unbelievable! Great communication, clear instructions for check-in. She contacted us during our stay with a few quick reminders and local restaurant ideas. The place was immaculate and the location and view was awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Marty's oceanfront condo in OB. Marty was and excellent and responsive host, answering any of our questions upon arrival and providing some helpful tips about the condo and surrounding area. The location is easily walkable to Sunset Cliffs park, Newport Ave, and the many shops and restaurants in OB (our faves are Raglans and the Noodle House). The accomodations were as advertised. Comfy bedding and all the creature comforts and modern amenities you need in a home away from home! The real highlight of the condo is the amazing outdoor deck with seating for six. We spent mornings, afternoons and many evenings reading, chatting and dining all while ejoying the ocean waves and OB sunsets. We also ventured over to Santa Cruz Beach, just a block away for lazy beach days and exploring the tide on the rocks pools just below the condo. We have spent many summers in San Diego and are already looking forward to our next trip back!

We came to celebrate my 50th birthday with husband and teen daughter! Marty was so kind and accommodating. She surprised me with happy birthday decor! She consistently checked in if we needed anything. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed! We made breakfast at the condo every morning then had dinner a short 5-10 minute walk away. We used the beach chairs, body boards, packed a cooler and spent everyday at a different beach. This condo gives you the feel of home away from home. We will definitely be back and highly recommend! What are great location to see and hear the ocean crashing against the rocks. The host is very nice and hospitable to meet all of our needs. The house contains everything you will need to have a great vacation in ocean Beach. All restaurants and stores are within walking distance. Having a garage to park a car in Ocean Beach is a major plus!

The views are amazing! We spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony and listening to the waves, watching the sun set and just enjoying nature.

Everything in the listing is accurate! We loved the location, with the beautiful view of the ocean and easy access to exploring the rocks and beaches nearby. We also liked that it was an easy walk to many restaurants, a Target, a farmer’s market held every Wednesday, and even a church we attended on Easter Sunday. It was even easy to drive south to the places we wanted to go downtown and north to other beaches and sites.
The unit itself is located in a quiet 6-plex. There were many planes flying overhead, but we became accustomed to them quickly. The kitchen was loaded with everything you’d need to make full meals, and there was ample seating for dining inside and on the deck. My husband and I slept in one bedroom, our daughter in the other, and our son on the fold-out couch in the living room. There are several TVs, but we only used one. There was one small issue when it rained heavily, but we resolved it easily and Marty responded quickly. We spoke with her a few times during our stay, and she was very helpful with her information.
All in all, would definitely stay at Marty’s Beach House again!

The Owner:
Marty, the owner, deserves a standing ovation. She’s hands down the best, most accommodating owner we’ve ever encountered. Her communication was crystal clear, and she was just a call or text away whenever we needed anything. And guess what? When we checked in, there was a delightful surprise waiting for us—a bottle of wine on the table. Talk about a warm welcome!
The Home:
We were a family of five, including three teenage boys, and let me tell you, we all felt right at home. The condo was well-appointed, the beds were super comfy, and the location? Well, it couldn’t be more perfect. You’re a mere 20-minute drive from San Diego’s top attractions, and a quick 5-minute walk gets you to the charming shops at Ocean Beach.
The View:
Now, let’s talk about that view. I might’ve spent more time on the deck than inside the condo itself. The unobstructed views of the Pacific were simply stunning. Sunsets? Oh, they happened right in front of us, like a daily masterpiece. And guess what’s just below the condo? The amazing Tidepools! There’s a staircase leading down to them—one street up from where we stayed. It’s like having our own private aquarium to explore every day.
In Summary:
We’ve found our spot in San Diego, and we’re definitely coming back. If you’re after a great value, jaw-dropping views, and an owner who’s genuinely the nicest person, look no further.

We had a great stay at Marty's Beach House. The 2 best things are the amazing panoramic view from sunset cliffs and an amazing host! Marty cares about the property and your stay. The condominium is clean, well stocked, comfortable, and is in a great cliff-side location. Marty is easy to reach and very responsive. We were greeted by a bottle of wine and a nice note. Close walk to restaurants, groceries, and the beach. We loved taking long walks along the cliffs and spending our afternoons sitting on the balcony listening to the waves crash. Great sunsets and we even saw dolphins and seals. We loved it and can't wait to come back.

Really amazing views, loved hearing the waves crashing, we saw surfers every morning, enjoyed trying coffee shops and restaurants in the Ocean Beach neighborhood, and we appreciated that parking was included! Marty made the stay so easy! She gave us great information on where to eat, get groceries, and places to visit during our stay. She even left a bday card and gift for my Uncle who was celebrating a big birthday! (Very thoughtful, thank you Marty!) She even kept us informed of any storm related information (since we never turned the TV on) to make sure we weren’t concerned about flooding or tornados (yep, that was a thing, but not super close to us). Marty’s condo has 180 degree view of the ocean and is walkable to everything Ocean Beach, including the tide pools that were soooo neat to explore. We saw a pod of whales and had a dolphin come in to play with a buoy just outside the patio. Would absolutely stay again. Thank you Marty!

Property was clean and well cared for. Beautiful place to stay on the ocean close to shopping and restaurants. Fully appointed kitchen, we didn't use it much with all the yummy places to eat, but if you are wanting to cook some meals at the condo, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Would suggest that you bring shower items in a hanging bag as there is no shelf in the on-suite bathroom shower. View from the deck at sunset is amazing! Would definitely stay here again!!

All the reviews that say the view is amazing are correct! It’s incredible!!! We loved exploring on the rocks below and you can walk and explore all the way to the pier. It was great to have two bathrooms and the in-suite laundry was so convenient. Since we flew, the beach items were really nice to have. We had a large rental vehicle and there was plenty of space to park. The kitchen was stocked with anything and everything. There are stairs leading to the condo, but it wasn’t an issue for us. And then there’s Marty. Her communication was probably the best we’ve ever had. She made sure we had everything we needed and accommodated any request. We all absolutely loved the town of Ocean Beach too! Definitely more of a local “feel” than touristy. Overall a great stay.

Stayed with our family and everything was outstanding. Very comfortable with great views. Loved the beach toys and chairs and proximity to the beach - a very short walk. Really enjoyed coffee on the patio every morning and sunset views. Marty was fantastic at communicating and there for any questions and made us feel welcome. It was hot inside the unit (it was august in a heat wave) until we figured out how to optimize the windows and fans properly which were very nicely provided. My kids loved the tide pools which were a 2 minute walk and the proximity to great ice cream, food, and shops was fabulous! Would definitely come back.

My family and I had a great time in Ocean Beach and the condo was perfect for our needs. The view of the sunsets and ocean were fantastic. We were able to walk to restaurants, bars, pier, and ocean beach in minutes. 30min drive to LaJolla, Miramar, Coronado. Sunset Cliffs a very short drive. Everything we needed in the kitchen was included and the beds were comfortable. The weather was 67-77 the entire week and the breeze and provided fans helped keep the condo cool despite no AC. Condo is not big but we had 4 people comfortably. The host was responsive to questions and very admissable. Ocean Beach is not LaJolla, Coronado, or DelMar, but it has a lot of character, it's fun, and we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at this very clean, quaint condo right by the ocean, the owner is very nice and concerned about your stay and supplied many items to make it as comfortable as possible. The stairs leading up to the condo are a bit of a challenge, unless you're in good shape, we had no issues... Walking distance to the Ocean and a lot of nice restaurants! We were there 23 days! As others mentioned it is in the flight path, but you get used to it! The view is wonderful and you'll enjoy it!

Perfect apartment just 4 minute walk from some great restaurants. Apartment was perfect for us 4. 2 Adults and 2 kids boys 9 and 7. It’s was clean tidy and Marty welcomed us with open arms as our host. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and great Family area, ideal for just chilling after a long day.

The property is located right on the ocean. It overlooks the tide pools and a short walk to Ocean Beach. This was the first time I have been to a California beach and it wasn't at all what I expected. Ocean Beach reminded me of the small east coast beach communities I'm used to with local independent shops and restaurants. We just happened to be there during the Chili Cookoff and it was fantastic. Great food. The beach house was quiet, very clean, well supplied with dishes to cook and barbecue and beach supplies like umbrellas, coolers, boogie boards, beach chairs and beach towels. Every night was an amazing sunset. Easy parking. Rent a compact if you want to garage it. We rented a large EV and parked it in the reserved space. Nothing happened to it. The host is extremely conscientious and communicative. Really great to rent from. I definitely plan to go back ASAP.

If you want to be completely awed by the majesty of the Pacific Ocean, this is the place for you! The view is incredible. The property is very conveniently located next to the beach, restaurants, and shops. We were able to walk almost everywhere. It was a plus that there was beach equipment available to borrow in the garage. The condo was a little squeezy for our family of five but we made it work! Marty is a kind and thoughtful host. Marty is an excellent host who goes out of her way to ensure her guests have a lovely stay. The view is wonderful, can't be beat. We did see dolphins our last day, and surfers every day. Tons of great places to eat close by. Easy access to the beach.
As previous posters mentioned, the bathrooms could use an update, and the unit is in the flight path of the airport (minor annoyances), but you're overlooking the ocean. We would highly recommend staying with Marty.
