About this lodge
Located in Tennessee, this charming lodge for $308 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Black Bear Lodge Asheville is a 3 story Antique Log Cabin built with Luxury and Contemporary Amenities. Featuring an updated kitchen, Grotto Shower made with River Rock from the Creek below, and overlooks an audible Waterfall and stocked pond that gives you a 24hr tranquil backdrop to your family getaway. Sleeps 15 in the winter and 17 in the summer with a hanging bed on the summer porch. Custom Firepit adorned with Tree Chairs made from logs from our land ! Just 20 -25 minutes north of Asheville, NC and the Biltmore Estate. 3 miles before the Tennessee border. Keywords: Cabin, Private, Wilderness, Hiking, Golf, Asheville, Wolf Laurel We have now added the Pet friendly stay. . There is a $30 pet fee per pet , per night which you can add to your stay. Cabin was actually as pictures shown online. Plenty of space for our 3 family stay. No one complained about the beds so they were all comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies & well organized. Rustic & historic decor. 2 fire places, well stocked with wood for burning. Hot tub worked great & was used a bunch.
Reason for 4 stars on cleanliness is we found a vape at the bottom of the hot tub at first use. Obvious from prior users. Cob webs in various places. But it's a cabin so we expected that. Main floor stackable washer / dryer didn't really work, so we used the ones in the garage which worked perfectly.
If we plan another trip to the area we would definitely stay again.

The cabin was great place for our family to get together along with our dogs. The cabin is very well stocked with pots and pans and the necessities to cook about any meal. The open kitchen-living area was a favorite where everyone could be together in a big open space with views from the windows. The hot tub was great. The outside decks were great to relax on and to look out across the ponds and the woods behind the cabin.
Would definitely rent this place again for our family get together.

We had a nice family stay at the house. The kitchen was well equipped and the porches were wonderful to hang on and have a cup of coffee in the morning.

We had the best time at the cabin! It's much larger in person and the pictures don't give the area justice. There is a small pond stocked with koi and other fish a few steps away from the property.
The AC wasn't working upstairs but the owner let us know ahead of time and installed window units prior to our arrival. They worked just fine.
To get to some of the bedrooms, you have to walk through the garage but once there, it's cozy.
Would highly recommend staying here!

We had a fantastic girls trip here! The cabin was very clean and had everything we could need inside. The kitchen was perfect for cooking for everyone, and the back porch was a wonderful spot to drink coffee in the mornings. The gravel road was a little hard to get up with small cars, but we made it work. Would definitely recommend for a weekend away with a larger group!

The cabin was beautiful and just as described. Very large and roomy. The upstairs shower had plumbing issues from leaking through the pipes at the entryway. So we were unable to use the upstairs which was a problem since my mother was staying upstairs and had to go downstairs in the middle of the night to another bathroom. Also, the upstairs a/c didn’t work very well. But everything else was great!! I’m sure these issues were already taken care of.

My group of 10 adults found the property to be clean, well-kept and accommodating for our group's size. In particular, the cooking equipment and dining area helped to facilitate a wonderful steak dinner. We had a wonderful time, and if your group is looking for an affordable, calm weekend, this is a great place to stay!

The cabin excited our expectations. It was everything we were looking for. The drive up to the cabin is a little steep but once you make it to the cabin it’s all worth it. We had our dream winter vacation with a white snowed cabin. Our party was able to make snowman’s and have snow fights towards the back of the cabin. Thank you for this amazing stay.

We went to Asheville to celebrate a most significant birthday and this house did not disappoint. Jeanine was helpful and quick to respond with questions prior to the trip.
The house was clean and spacious and cozy for relaxing which is mostly what we did.
We would definitely stay here again.

This cabin was everything we wanted and more. Every time we looked around, there was always something new to find on the walls. The beds and sheets were incredibly comfy and we all slept great!
We also took a walk around the pond near by and it was simply blissful being in nature and listening to the waterfall out back.
We definitely recommend enjoying your coffee out on the back deck and enjoying the rocking chairs and all the nature that surrounds you.
I've recommended this home to multiple friends and will absolutely be back whenever I find myself in Asheville next!

The cabin is located in a peaceful location -- nature abounds. Whe there are 3 other cabins within proximity, with the trees and natural barriers, it still felt private. The hot tub was pristine and sitting on the decks was so peaceful. We didn't use the fireplace, but if you do, there is plenty of wood. I appreciate the camp chairs we could move around and we all loved fishing in the ponds. We were without upstairs a.c. for one night, but the minute we notified the owner, she arranged a fast repair. This made us realize that despite what other listings say about not needing a.c., we neded a.c.! This is a very charming cabin!

Great time
My family and I had a great time. We had a few minor issues with water leaks. The property manager was very quick to respond. The pots and pans could use some updating and one of the boards was rotted near the exit from the main floor porch. But our family had a lot of fun fishing the ponds, watching for deer and chasing fire flies!

We recently stayed for my bachelorette party and had the best time! It’s an easy drive to Asheville and very convenient to the interstate. The cabin is beautiful. The owner was nice and communicated quickly with us. Would rent again!

I can’t say enough about this house, our trip, and the owner! It was very easy to get in and to find the house. We had everything we needed! There’s a snow tubing place very close which was so much fun! And then we were even blessed to enjoy a natural snowy weekend, complete with snow angels, snow ball fights, snowmen and sledding!! With and without snow, the scenery is beautiful!! The house is cozy!! It was a perfect choice for our winter family vacation! The owner was super friendly as well as flexible when we ended up getting snowed in and had to stay an extra day! You won’t regret staying here!!

Beautiful space for large groups
The house is beautifully designed and in a lovely spot. The furnishings are clean and comfortable and there's plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen is perfect for cooking group meals and the hot tub is a great amenity. Our group of 8 had a wonderful, relaxing weekend.
A few things to be aware of - there are close neighbors, so you'll be able to hear them and they you. The house is up a steep, gravel road. A couple of the smaller vehicles in our group had difficulty getting up it, so four wheel drive would be a huge plus year-round. Lastly, the Mom Cave isn't really "off" the living room, it's part of the living room. Anyone planning to sleep there should plan accordingly.

Amazing place!
We stayed at Black Bear Lodge for a long weekend and had the best time. It is just beautiful. It’s very clean and has a well stocked kitchen. Jeanine was super fast responding to any questions. 10/10 would stay here again!

It is a really fun home. We loved the porch bed! The home is very spacious and family friendly. It was a little further from the things that we chose to do, besides Asheville everything was an hour away.

We found this cabin to be the perfect place for us to gather after two years apart due to the pandemic. It was equipped with everything we needed, plenty of room to spread out if desired or gather together for games and meals. We already plan to make this a yearly pilgrimage!
