The home is nice. Bring your own pillow, your shampoo, and some mosquito spray. You will need laundry detergent and condiments because they don't leave anything in there. Hopefully they will replace the shower head like I recommended.

Overall I was very happy with my stay and property. The bathrooms could use some updating and the shower curtains had a little mold/mildew. Other than that the property was great and we enjoyed our stay.

We checked in at 4pm. I noticed the master bedroom sheet had what looked like blood stains all over it. I called and let the property manager know and they said they would send new ones the next day. That is completely ridiculous not to take care of that immediately. I also noticed there was no blanket for the master bed and two of the 4 pillows had no pillow case. I would never let this company list another property if I were in charge. When they finally brought all the things missing or stained, they just threw the bag with all of these items in them on the porch and left.

We loved our stay at the cottage. Comfortable open living room-kitchen combo allowed us lots of time to reminisce about life, love and adulting since our college days. Accessible to everything in Fairhope but conducive to time spent just being together!

This is our fourth stay at Porch Lane Cottage C. We love our little home in the woods and we look forward to returning next February. It is quiet and relaxing and while it could use some updates we are very satisfied.

Let's be clear--I LOVE this property. I've stayed here many times before, and will again. But it's gotten to the point where they either need to lower the daily rate or make some upgrades. Both the kitchen and master bath are just tired. It's time for new fixtures, a new dishwasher, and new countertops.

Although being part of a little housing trac it had the yard space we needed for our stay. Not as private as the pictures depict. Seemed very stale and dusty. Not bright and airy like the pictures show. Seemed as though the house sits empty and they only come in and “clean” sheets, bathroom and kitchen before a renter. The amenities are a tad deceiving. Be sure you read what the property actually offers. Might as well have stated it was waterfront with the disclosure provided at the end of the description. There was a roach in the lower level bathtub when we arrived and saw periodic silver fish upstairs. Someone started painting and patching walls and then decided it was enough to start renting. The morning of departure we were up at 4a with no water and did not get “notified” the issue was being addressed until 8a when were were long gone. This property has potential unfortunately we did not experience it in the best condition.

Very quiet location except when the rooster next door wanted everyone to wake up.

January 2022 Stay
The microwave door is broken. We didn't use it because we thought it might be dangerous. we had some problems also with things like missing light bulbs so we had to do some switching out as soon as we got there. in the master bath the toilet seat needs replacing as well as the towel bar which fell off in our hands. overall the house seemed to be clean and since we were there for only 3 evenings it suited our purpose. Fairhope itself is a beautiful little town and we loved it!

The layout was great and perfectly suited our needs. November 2021 Stay
First, I would like to start by saying that I don’t like being harassed about leaving a review. I do not believe in reviews or survey’s. To do either, requires a salary and I do not work for you. Both are a complete waste of time.
I haven’t had WiFi since Ida. I just happen to be at my daughter’s to do this review. My first impression of the house was rustic and I was kind of worried about what I was walking into. After getting inside, the house was clean overall and in a quiet location.
As for the negative:
All appliances need to be upgraded. I was cooking for my friend’s daughter’s breakfast to bring for her wedding party and the burners on the stove were not leveled and didn’t heat correctly.
The hot water heater needs to be upgraded as well. It ran out of hot water while I was bathing. It would never accommodate 6 people.
The batteries were dead in one of the TV remotes
We wanted to go out on the back porch.There are boards that need to be replaced and the swing needs to be replaced.

Swamp nearby
The biggest complaint we had about this place was the swamp near and open drainage ditch around the property. It attracted mosquitos and just felt “wet” everywhere. We weren’t there when it was raining and the water stayed that way the whole time. We also didn’t like having the rug in the family room due to it being a pet friendly place so rolled it up amd noticed it was dirty underneath.
