Stayed here for a girl’s weekend. It was a cute little house, but still had enough space for all of us. Could use a couple more basic amenities like paper towels and tissues. Just a quick walk to the beach. Overall a good stay!

Enjoyed our stay, plenty of room for all and great location. Ten minute walk to the beach, great backyard space for lawn games with fire pit. Jim was very friendly and checked in if we needed anything a few times during our stay. Easy checkin/checkout process. Overall great weekend!!

Great place with lots of space and a nice fenced in backyard. The owner Jim was very responsive, made check-in/out easy, and was very helpful in recommending things to do in the area. Just off a main road, the house was quiet but also had easy access to the beach and Williams Bay restaurants.

The house was quaint and Jim was very helpful. He met us at the property and helped bring in luggage. The only downside I can think of is that there were no usual instructions. For instance, we had no idea what to do with the garbage we left or if we were supposed to strip the beds. We contacted Jim and he told us what to do, but otherwise we would not have known. Also, there’s no recycling, so we took our cans and bottles home. This not a big deal, just something renters should be aware of. It also wasn’t very clear from the pictures that one of the bedrooms is in the basement. The house is small with one bathroom upstairs and one in the basement. The living area/kitchen were good sized. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again, now that we know the rules! Thanks, Jim.

Location is excellent. House smelled musty. Dust under sofas very thick. (Had to get dog’s ball). Back yard would be more pleasant if trash was picked up from edge of deck and window well. There are no teaspoons and cupboard drawer bottom need repair on two drawers. Upstairs bathroom is very nice. Should clean the vent in floor by window.

Jim was right there when we got there. It’s close to a public park on the water.
It was perfect for our guys/golf weekend

Harbor View home
Great location, house needs a little upgrading. Had everything we expected from the description. Seems like a few additional perks like a gas grill would help satisfy renters. The basement still has the musty smell and no one wanted to sleep in that bedroom.

Great Stay!
Jim is a great host and welcomed us on our arrival. We were there for a family weekend, and he had no issue with family members stopping in to visit. The large fenced in yard was a plus. Everything was perfect.

Solid place to stay to be near the Lake & room for dog
Overall, a really pleasant place for a short stay. Loved the spacious backyard that accommodated our furry family member. We had to email Jim when we learned that only 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom were open when we needed three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. That was also what was listed. He was super responsive and returned very quickly to unlock those rooms. No laundry available if we happened to have needed it, which is typically another advantage to renting a house vs staying in a hotel. Definitely a short walk down to the quiet beach that had several other families there. Very satisfied overall.

Great once plumbing is fixed
Great house, but the upstairs shower's tub was cracked and leaked. It dripped into the basement bedroom every time someone showered. Jim lives next door and was able to help and a plumber came twice. Once fixed this house will be great.
This issue was there before we checked in and basement smelled musty due to previous leaks. I was disappointed Jim was not forthcoming with this. It is very obvious he knew about the problem prior to us checking in.
He did refund half of one-night stay.
We were still able to have a good time. The beach is beautiful. The only other item to take note of is the fire pit in the pictures is not on this property but shared with the cabins next door. Jim said this was clear in the description but at the time I rented there was no mention of a shared or common area. We would have liked it in our own backyard to enjoy while our kids slept inside.

No frills
Property is clean and beds were comfortable. Backyard shares an unfenced property line with a row of motel cabins. House has several locked doors, presumably storage. Host will check on you daily. Fire pit is not on property; it’s on the other side of motel cabins. The lake is nearby, but walking there requires hugging the shoulder of a somewhat busy 2-lane.

The things we liked about our experience were: - the owner Jim: He was very nice and helpful. He personally checked us in and checked on us halfway through our stay. When we needed something he was easy to reach and accommodating.- the spaciousness: The house was more than enough for three people plus a dog. We didn’t even need to use the bottom room so we stayed upstairs.- the fact it was pet friendly: The fenced in backyard was very pet friendly. The city dog loved the space to run around. The part of the experience that could have been improved:- the lack of and quality of amenities: The property is very bare bones and could benefit from adding “no frills” to the descriptions. Towels and some kitchenware are available, but there wasn’t much of it and the towels were very rough. We had to use our own paper towels, shampoo/soap and toilet paper since there was very little stocked in the house.- the cleanliness: the floors, especially the bathroom floor, was fairly dirty. The bed linens were discolored/stained and the master bed’s mattress could do with replacing as it sags in the middle.- the booking process: This may be more Vrbo’s fault, but we originally booked the house for 4 nights at a certain cost per night plus fees including 4 nights of dog fees. The owner, Jim, had to let me know after I paid for the 4 nights that there was an issue with the listing and it was only available 3 nights. He kindly offered a partial refund, but what was refunded was less than covering the one night of lodging and dog fees we weren’t able to stay for. Again, this could be a VRBO issue but we were very disappointed to lose a day, some money and not receive any communication on the issue from VRBO directly.Summary: Although we found our host and the area to be very nice, our overall experience was not what we expected. If you’re a large family looking for modest lodging less than half a mile from the lake and you don’t mind bringing your own things, then the house could be right for you. If you’re a smaller group or hoping for a getaway with more amenities and quality, a hotel or other house in the area may be a better fit as we learned.

Great location!
Short walk through the neighborhoods to get to lakefront path, and then short walk to beach. Jim was able to get us beach passes to Williams Bay Beach. Large backyard for our dog. We always have a great time in Lake Geneva. House was clean, safe, quiet, and the AC was cold. Great visit.

Perfect for our needs.
Thank you Jim for an easy stay and check in experience. Communication was easy through the whole process.
We were in Lake Geneva for a wedding and being 10 minutes out made it an easy commute.
The house was perfect with 3 double beds downstairs. We knew where the kids would be.
Although the lake is 1500 feet from the house, realize that that equates to 1/4 mile.
The backyard is fenced in which was nice as we were taking care of the brides dog.
We would definately rent again.

Biking Weekend at Williams Bay
We (3 couples) stayed at this property for a three day weekend for a biking trip and boating weekend. Jim is a most gracious host. He met us upon our arrival even though we were late.
The house is cute. It is simple but has a nice open floor plan which was perfect for what we needed. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we required. The backyard was lovely although it rained the second night and ruined our plans for grilling and having a fire in the fire pit.
Jim was very easy to contact and access. We will stay here again in the future!

Nice and Clean
We had a great stay in Williams Bay! We were attending our son's wedding at The Abbey at Fontana and had our dog with us, There are not many dog friendly properties in this area that allow a 60-lb dog, so this property was perfect with it's generous fenced-in yard. The bedrooms were comfortable and quiet. The bathrooms had plenty of towels, super hot water with good water pressure. This property is located between Lake Geneva and Fontana, so accessible to both. Jim is a great guy and a good host. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Neat & Tidy
The house is great for a big family or friend get together. Nothing too fancy but lots of space, large kitchen, and big back yard.

A bit disappointed-
The good: jim the owner is easy to get in touch with and was close to the house if we needed anything, they did provide passes to Williams bay beach, the yard is big and accommodated our dog nicely.
Though the owner has now updated his description of the house (thankfully) prior to this we were told the House was 900 feet from the water - not true. The house was not very clean sadly and that was a huge disappointment. First day we went to sit in the deck and the deck chairs were not just dirty, they had mold and what he thought was pollen all over and deep into the folds - we had nothing to clean them with (and for the price did not think we needed to)-we asked the owner if he could
Clean them, he tried but to no avail so he gave us towels to throw over them. The amenities are pretty slim- Chipped cups, slim pickings for everything but pans. So be sure to bring some paper plates and napkins. The coffee pot is brand new so that was great! The microwave worked and the ice maker works so that’s a plus! We were close enough to lake Geneva town to go out to different activities and a few places in Williams bay.
If we had not been lead to believe the place was in view of water and clean and if we were told it was next to a hotel we would have been a bit more prepared.
We spoke with The owner as we were leaving and let him know of our concerns- he assured us that they were going to super clean the place and adjust the description. I saw the description was changed so I’m guessing he probably cleaned it as well. He was very nice and even offered a $200.00 refund. Though we won’t stay there again because of the location, we did have a good time in the area and like I said Jim is great.

A great weekend getaway!
My fiance and I took our golden retriever up for Memorial Day Weekend. The cabin was perfect, no carpeting (which is awesome when you have a shedding pup), pumping AC, and just a short walk to the beach. Jim, the owner, was very friendly and accommodating. There is a great back deck with a nice table, umbrella, and chairs we hung out on. We rented a boat on the lake Sunday, which was also dog friendly. Really enjoyed the stay and are looking forward to coming back!

Have always loved the Lake Geneva area. This is a great house, especially having the enclosed back yard!

Nice place, very kind host
Fun Girls Weekend place. We arrived at check in and our host was waiting for us. He set us up with everything we needed and even lugged in some firewood for us in case we wanted to have a campfire later in the evening. He gave us passes to the beach, and some tips on good places to eat.
The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was equipped relatively well, but was missing some basic things like a pitcher to serve drinks or a tea kettle, paper towels, or coffee filters. He did bring us paper towels upon request. Though the walk to the beach is a pleasant and short one, it's more like 1000 METERS not feet, and there is a hill involved and you have to go on the road some, so people in wheelchairs/strollers should be advised.

Great house!
This house was perfect for our extended family to stay together for the Tri-rock triathlon based in Williams Bay. Great location and easy walk down to the lake and town. The house has a nice open kitchen/dining/living room area where the 6 of us could be comfortable and had everything we would want/need. The owner Jim was very nice, accommodating and right next door if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Cute house, awesome management
This house has a great open kitchen/living room and a huge yard!! Patio furniture and the deck were wonderful. It's a little rustic--no curtains, just old metal blinds on the windows and a wonky shower head----but what it lacks in luxury it makes up with having Jim, the owner. He was absolutely AWESOME. He had restaurant suggestions and tips, and came over in 2 seconds to solve a problem. I can not overstate how friendly and welcoming he is!!
Overall I would definitely stay here again! It's an easy location (if you aren't carrying a ton of stuff, you can walk to the beach).

Not as advertised. The description has changed post our feedback through VRBO customer service
Unfortunately, our stay was not what we were expecting. When my family stayed in this rental, the description noted that the home was 1000 feet from the lake. We had a 6 month old and two dogs during our stay and had booked this home thinking 1000' was really 1000', not 0.5 miles walking along the main road that connects the towns along the lake. The bike lanes are quite small (or nonexistent in some parts) and as you can imagine, that was less than ideal when you have an infant and two dogs.
The owner describes the "office" as completely separate and private. Technically, it is separate, however, the office has a door from the outside (next to front door) and also a door that leads directly into the living room. The door is a thin panel door and we could hear anything/everything that was going on in the office. It was our logical conclusion that Jim (owner) too, can hear everything inside. It didn't make for a very comfortable stay as my wife and I felt as though we had to whisper if we were discussing family/personal items. If i wanted a shared living space, i would have not selected vrbo.
The owners dog is perpetually attached to a leash in front of the house. Exiting and entering with a stroller and two dogs was difficult. The dog was very friendly and loving, but curious by nature. Navigating stairs and dogs on leashes while the owners dog would engage us was a bit frustrating.
The backyard has a "bbq".. its a charcoal bbq off the deck (down the stairs, around the deck). Definitely misrepresented. The backyard itself is great, it it weren't for all of the trash cans from the neighboring motel (owned by the owner). The entire corner was a trash dumping ground for all of the other motel rental units (less than ideal).
Lastly, the home was in good shape until you looked closer. Carpets in both bedrooms were torn, the window sills had dead mosquitoes, the walls had numerous bad patch jobs, the blender had old coffee beans and there were no condiments of any sort. The owner cleans himself vs. having a company clean the home (despite charging company cleaning rates) so that might be most of the issue.
Despite my concerns being raised to the owner, Jim has made no attempt to rectify the situation or contact me directly. It is unfortunate as we've used vrbo/homeaway many times and have always had raving reviews of properties.

Exactly What We Wanted
Jim's home was perfect for our family of five. We walked to the beach every day and had a relaxing stay. The place was just the right size; the kitchen had ample space for cooking, the rooms were clean and our 1 year old dog had a plenty of room to run around the back yard. Jim is a great host.

A peaceful getaway in a beautiful location
The house has just what we were looking for: a clean, quiet two-bedroom near Lake Geneva. The house is plenty roomy, with TV's in every room. The patio and big backyard are great for play and relaxation. Jim was very attentive, making sure we had what we needed and were enjoying ourselves. He made it very easy for us to use the beach, which is a short walk or very short drive away. Williams Bay offers the beauty of Lake Geneva in a much more low-key fashion than the town of Lake Geneva, yet is close enough to drop in anytime. I would recommend this rental.
