Winter Driving
Many highways, access roads and/or driveways are steep in Tahoe/Truckee and may be icy in the winter. To ensure your safety, it is critical that during November 1st - April 30th brakes, windshield wipers, defroster, heater and exhaust system are in top condition. Tires need to be properly inflated and the tread must be in excellent condition. Always carry tire chains, even if driving an AWD/4WD vehicle. Make sure the chains are the proper size for your tires and are in working order. You may find valuable winter driving tips from the CHP here: https://bit.ly/3IKiY7n
Summer Patio Furniture
Patio furniture is available for your use during summer months only. All outdoor tables, chairs and loungers are put into storage in the fall, in order to protect the furnishings from winter weather. Barbecue grills, however, do remain outside for your enjoyment.
Black bears are very common in this area and have become habituated to human food and garbage. Because bears no longer have a strong fear of humans, you may encounter bears during your spring, summer and fall stays. Feeding bears is illegal. Leaving food outside, trash accessible, or doors and windows unlocked is likely to cause significant property damage to homes and to vehicles. Please take a moment to learn how to be Bear Aware, so that we can continue to live in harmony with our wildlife.
Office Holiday Hours
The TLUXP office is closed on New Year’s Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Therefore, we are unable to accommodate check-ins and check-outs on these dates. Thank you for understanding.

Stayed for a week in July with family. Easy check in. Prompt response from manager about a chair that I found broken on our arrival. Ample linens, furniture, dishes. Very clean, except for bathroom rugs, which I wish I would have thrown all of them into the wash on arrival. Not an easy walk to the lake, you will need to drive, especially if you have beach equipment. Nice outside deck, chairs, and grill worked great!

Wonderful place for a family!
The house was perfect for our family weekend in Tahoe! Plenty of room for a group of six adults! We would stay at this home again.

Snowbound in Tahoe
The property was beautiful. We were snowed in most of the time we were there so it was nice to have a beautiful home to be stuck in.

Summer Escape
We loved the location, including the short drive to the beach and the short walk to the playground behind the home. The kitchen was well stocked, including all the cooking basics (pots, pans, herbs and spices). The layout was comfortable for kids and older guests alike.

A wonderful property, very comfortable
We loved the space, the photos are accurate and it worked for our family- 18 mo baby, adult children, grandparents and even an 81 yo parent. Very comfortable beds, beautiful and fully equipped kitchen. Very close to skiing and hiking in the 'hood is super easy. There is a park with a ropes center very close by, too. You definitely need 4 wheel drive vehicle- we got snowed in for two days which was actually kind of fun! The fireplace is kind of odd- it is gas connected to the room temperature, so we did not have the roaring fire we dreamed of at key times. There is only one zone of heat for the whole house, which was odd considering the home, which is gorgeous, was built in 2008. Still scratching our heads on that one! Loved 'A Walk in the Woods'.

Perfect in every way
We are a large family and love to cook when we travel together. This home provided us all the amenities we needed. The hot tub was a plus after playing outdoors in the beautiful back country. It was beautifully but thoughtfully decorated. We only had a problem trying to get the thermostat to adjust correctly to keep the house cool for us. I would rent this property again. Great for winter vacations.
