Newer home on the Isle of Palms with a "classic beach" feel. This house has a very open, yet comfortable main living area and 6 large bedrooms with en suite baths and all the amenities you have come to expect from one of our luxury homes.
Enjoy the ocean breeze in a rocker on the expansive screened porches or sit in the Gazebo on your private boardwalk and watch the children play on the beach. Maybe take a leisurely walk on the beach to breathe the fresh ocean air and pick up seashells. Perhaps a game of soccer or touch football on the huge backyard lawn will stir up appetites for the evening BBQ dinner! Or simply enjoy the company of friends and family in the beautiful interior of this 4290 sq. Ft. oceanfront vacation home.
The large living area on the second floor offers amazing panoramic views of the ocean. The comfortable and roomy L-shaped sofas and 4 chairs afford seating for your entire group. There is a built-in desk for the "working" members of your group, a gas fireplace, and large flat panel TV along with a Sonos system.
The large custom dining table, which seats 10, is located between the nicely equipped kitchen and the living room. The kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances with a side-by-side fridge, double oven tower, 5 burner gas cooktop, and 2 sinks.
Four bar stools along the kitchen island are convenient for a quick breakfast or snack. A wet bar with a sink and icemaker makes entertaining so much easier! Also on the second floor is the Primary Bedroom suite with a King bed, large TV, ocean view, access to the screened porch, and handicapped equipped bath with shower.
There is a second bedroom with two Queen beds, wall-mounted TVs, and private full baths with tub/shower combos. The laundry room is also located on this floor. The first floor features a second gathering room with two sitting areas, 2 sofas, TV/DVD/VCR, games and videos, and access to the first level screened porch.
A kitchenette, complete with a full-size fridge, microwave, sink, toaster oven, and table for 4, offers convenient, additional living space for guests. Each of the screened-in porches is equipped with a Pawley’s Island hammock to take your afternoon siesta! The remaining 4 guest bedrooms are on the first floor. Two have king beds, each with private baths, and two have double Queen beds with private baths.
All bedrooms have wall-mounted, flat panel TVs.
An elevator makes fast work of carrying groceries and luggage and accommodates those with special needs.

When making an online reservation on VRBO, you will receive a confirmation and a contract from East Islands Rentals once you book this home. The contract must be returned within 24 hours to keep your reservation! Payments are not collected until the contract has been returned and reviewed by East Islands Rentals.
Damage Protection:
In lieu of a security deposit, a Damage Protection Policy is added to protect you up to $3,000.00 of damages during your stay.
Travel Insurance:
East Islands Rentals offers travel insurance to all of its guests through Rental Guardian. Rental Guardian's specialty is the Vacation Rental Industry. Travel Insurance covers you in the occurrence of a possible natural disaster threat to our area, medical emergencies, loss of a family member, loss of a job, etc. The cost is about 7% of your rental cost plus taxes and fees. Please email for the exact cost. It is highly recommended to purchase travel insurance through the Management Company. Once a reservation is made the Management Company can add the Rental Guardian policy to your reservation.

This house was just what we needed. We were seven adults and two children. Every family had their own room. Enough room for everyone. The front lawn was perfect for games. The beach was perfect. The air conditioner broke down and rental agency sent someone within an hour and the technician was there and had it fixed in two hours

We found this home at the last minute and it was perfect for my family. We don’t live close to each other, so have a Christmas gathering every year where we can meet. Upon entering, we were super impressed with the size and cleanliness right off the bat. All bedrooms have a separate bathroom and all the accommodations do not require any packing of towels, sheets, nor cooking utensils. We will remember this rental and recommend it to all our friends. Perfect home and location for our family. This was our second year in this home. The only issue was that one of the garage doors was inoperable and when we checked in on Saturday we were told it would be repaired on Monday. To my knowledge, no one came to look at or repair it.

We had a 6 sibling reunion ages 65 to 92 for 4 days in October. Best feature was 6 private master bedrooms/baths. The elevator was a definite plus for our age group:) The large porch and rocking chairs got a lot of use but would have liked an outdoor table and chairs to enjoy eating outside. It even got cooler and we used the fireplace 2 nights!! The large living area was perfect and the Kitchen was the best stocked with dishes, glasses and flatware of any home we have rented. The lower kitchen came in handy for those on that level. We also enjoyed the gazebo and sat on the beach with the provided chairs. The location was close to shopping and easy to get on the mainland and to Charleston. The staff at East Island Rentals were extremely helpful and accommodated all our extra requests. We would definitely recommend Sand Pit especially if you have a large group of different families.

We have been going to IOP for 30 years. This house was the best furnished of any house we have ever had. We had a p adults and seven small kids. Plenty of room for everyone. Ice maker was a huge asset. Great tvs in every room. Great access to the beach. Highly recommend.

We have been coming to the Sand Pit for many years to spend the week away from this busy world! I grew up on IOP so my Mom & I tell the family many stories of the island from the 1950s & 60s. This beach vacation house being only a few blocks away from our old home. Old memories are great but we are also now making many new memories to cherish! This house is wonderfully decorated and a comfortable home with a beautiful view of the beach! It is always clean with a great backyard for the grandkids to play games. I highly recommend the Sand Pit for your next beach visit! We’ll be back again next year as well!

Great home with all the amenities that you could want/need. The rooms were clean, well appointed and comfortable. Loved having drinks at the gazebo. Two big refrigerators is key with such a large group. Check-in is really annoying though. You have to go to the rental office (and DON'T go before 4), wait on someone to give you the key and then make your way to the house. It's almost 5 when you begin to get situated. Am curious as to why there isn't a keypad, remote entry. Despite that, the home is lovely.

We have stayed at 3000 Palm (aka The Sand Pit) five times now over about 12 years. We fully enjoy the place, all of us. There are 5 couples (one time 6). Each bedroom is great. We wish you could get the pinball machine properly fixed. It has only worked one time. You should also make sure the printer works (it doesn't - no ink). But, all being said, it is a great place.

3000 Palm is an outstanding venue - our family has rented breach-front homes in IOP for many years and this home is the best we have ever rented - no pool (as advertised - not needed at Thanksgiving) but rest of features first in class - all 6 bedrooms with separate bathrooms, huge gathering area consisting of a well appointed living room (with lots of puzzles!) with a very nicely positioned fireplace + a 10 place dining table with extra chairs to seat 12 easily + an amazing kitchen with an inventory of dishes, cooking utensils, pots, pans and “spices” that would please a professional chef - screened porches with lots of rocking chairs & TWO Pawley’s Island hammocks - great downstairs (noisy) “playroom” with a pinball machine that drove some of the old folks crazy but was enjoyed by the grandkids of all ages - amazing board walk to beach with a lawn made for holiday flag football games - even had long range binoculars and a telescope on tripods - wait a minute, surely there was something to “complain” about: no ping pong table (had to dig hard to find something to comment on that was missing - Note: was not advertised as having one). If you want a worry free home without a pool, this is it, just ask how to turn off the sound on the pinball machine.

Sand Pitt is a great beach rental. The house is very spacious for all to spread out and enjoy. It is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Only complaint (not really complaining) that we had was the furniture is worn out. Mainly talking about the couches, chairs and tables. The beds were good.

We stayed in this house for our daughter's wedding. What is not shown on the pictures is the fabulous double garage with remote door openers. We were able to park 5 cars and put all of the flowers, wedding decor, a golf cart, and other tables, etc and then close the doors! The elevator was a life saver and had my mother been able to come, the handicapped room would have been perfect for her. The front porch was a delight for morning coffee. After the wedding, the bride and groom stopped by the house to take pictures on the gazebo and beach. Two kitchens proved to be so helpful, especially for the parents of the baby. The house came fully equipped with everything we could imagine. The walk-in pantry and sizable laundry room gave extra room to store all we needed for this weekend. We want to come back and just relax. In fact, we left our beach chairs, so we will have to come back!!! Thank you to the owners who did a terrific job with this beautiful home!!

What an incredible home…especially for a large family! We felt so comfortable and enjoyed every aspect of this beautiful beach house! The kitchen is awesome and is so well stocked. Each bedroom having it’s own bathroom is a game changer and the extra living/kitchen space is an added bonus! The location is perfect and the gazebo and the walkway to the beach are great! The generous amount of towels provided was a nice surprise and the laundry room is wonderful! Having our family all together in a home we all enjoyed made for a really special vacation!

What an incredible home…especially for a large family! We felt so comfortable and enjoyed every aspect of this beautiful beach house! The kitchen is awesome and is so well stocked. Each bedroom having it’s own bathroom is a game changer and the extra living/kitchen space is an added bonus! The location is perfect and the gazebo and the walkway to the beach are great! Wonderful time with the whole family for Christmas. House was in a beautiful setting and convenient location. The 6 bedrooms and baths were great for a large group, very comfortable beds. The large living area was terrific for games, etc. Rug under couch needs to be replaced.

Reviewer Comments:
Loved the large backyard with grass which gave the kids a place to play other than the beach. The walkway to the beach (where we spent every day) and gazebo with shower to rinse off made it easy for beach access. Having a full private shower and area to change in the garage area was great. The screened porches on both levels were a lovely place to sit and enjoy coffee or a drink, the view and the wonderful breeze. The layout is wonderful with living spaces on both levels as well. We had someone who is in a wheelchair and the master bathroom is TRULY accessible with a roll in shower and of course the elevator is a must. The kitchen was very well stocked which was really nice. The only negatives I will mention is that I felt the house could have been wiped down better given we are in a COVID environment. There was visible finger prints/dirt by the knobs on the kitchen/bath cabinets which i ended up wiping down. The cleaners were just finishing when we arrived at the house at 4:30pm. (checkin is supposed to start at 4pm). Also, when we arrived to pick up the keys they informed us that the AC on the living level was not working and they had called a contractor, acting a bit non-chalant about it. That was very disconcerting and it was quite warm for the first several hours of our stay, but fortunately someone arrived and fixed it that day. We had a wonderful week at 3000 Palm and would definitely return again. It was very convenient to stores and restaurant as well.

We have been coming as a family to this same beach rental for years and it never disappoints us! Not only are the people at East Island Rental nice to work with but the home is a fun, well kept house! The beach is wide with a perfect gully for our young grandchildren. Can’t wait for next year!
