About this cottage rental
Shuck, kayak, crab, clam, or just relax on the deck of our beautifully restored 1930’s beach Cottage, right at the water’s edge. 315' of oyster rich no bank waterfront on a sheltered cove. Everyone will have fun!
Also available for rent are our adjacent Octopus Hole Beach Cabin (VRBO listing #163757) and our adjacent Big Gray 1930's Beach Cabin (VRBO listing #575843). All 3 cabins are located right next to each other, right on the beach. Listing #163757 has a hot tub and #575843 has a hot tub and a sauna.
Rent two or all three cabins for a large group. They are ideal for family reunions…plenty of room to celebrate together while each family also has their own space.
The Studio’s interior has vaulted ceilings of combed cedar and a really cool bathroom with pebble floor and walk-in shower.
This is a studio unit with a queen-size Murphy bed that pulls out of the wall and two European-style (comfortable...no springs!) queen-size sofa sleepers.
Amenities include flat-screen, DirecTV, DVD/BluRay, fully-appointed studio kitchen, linens, bedding, Weber gas BBQ with side burner, washer/dryer, outside shared fire pit, deck furniture.
Property is on a cove with 315' of no bank beach frontage (we own the tidelands). The location is friendly and private. The cove makes it very easy to launch kayaks so be sure to bring them. Or, you can rent kayaks (and kayak crab pots) from Kayak Brinnon ... they will deliver and pick up for just a small fee.
A boat launch is less than 10 minutes away and a sheltered mooring buoy is available right in front of the cabin. Trailer parking is also available.
We are located One Cove North of renowned Octopus Hole Dive Site on Hood Canal, near Lilliwaup, Washington. We are minutes from Hoodsport amenities and nearby Olympic National Park.
Please ensure the number of guests entered is correct. We have a $20/person/night extra person fee above 2 guests. Due to limitations on our utilities, maximum occupancy at all times is 2 unless an exception is previously coordinated in writing (see Rental Agreement).
We have one security camera located in the upper window of our garage, directed towards the driveway gate.

Small but perfect cabin for two people. Right on the water. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable queen bed. Loved sitting on the deck watching fishing boats, an eagle and families out in their kayaks.

Sent my mom here for mother’s day to spend a few days away from the hectic city and work. She texted me almost once an hour about how she was in love with the place. She sat by the window in the kitchen with a glass of wine most of her time and read a book and enjoyed the view. She raved about how nice it was and how she never wanted to leave. Communication with the host was so easy and she was quick to respond, she even let my mom check in an hour early because she was in town early due to weather conditions. Would 100% recommend this host and location to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation away from the city!

Perfect weekend at water's edge. Cabin is cozy and inviting. Even with people staying in the other two cabins on the property, we felt all alone on Hood Canal. Beautiful and relaxing. Kitchen was well stocked, murphy bed comfortable and BBQ grill great. We want to come back in warmer weather when we can open up the windows and really enjoy the deck and fire pit. Thank you for a memorable weekend!

My husband and I really enjoyed this little cottage while we celebrated our 10 year anniversary! We can't wait to come back and rent one of the bigger cabins with our children when the weather is warmer. The cottage was very clean and well stocked and the host was very sweet and answered any questions we had promptly.

The cottage is so cozy. This is our second time there. Kitchen fully equipped. Comfortable bed and large bathroom. The beach is feet from the front of the house. Great deck!! Great restaurants nearby and hood canal coffee can’t be beat. Great Wi-Fi and TV. All I could think about when I got home was how soon can I go back!!

This artfully and lovingly built cozy cottage, situated right on a protected bay in the fjord, was an ideal launch point for day hikes in the Olympics, and for mornings watching the water birds fishing and cavorting. Suzanne was responsive in all ways, and the cabin had everything we could have needed, and more. One night, the clouds cleared and constellations powdered the sky. Such a special place to return to, if we can.

What a sweet spot- only had two nights to spare but felt like a long break- the setting is idyllic and the cottage is very comfortable and soulful- and well appointed, seemed to have everything we could need! We were able to have breakfast in the cottage overlooking the water, hike Mt Elinor in the morning, late afternoon oysters at Hama Hama and return for dinner in town. And even got to kayak. We hope to return! Please don't change anything.

We have not stayed on the canal for years and this was a real treat. The weather was perfect and I took lots of pics to share with friends. I'm sure they will all want to joint us on the next trip.

This is a beautiful spot, with super fun things to do. 2 nights was not enough for us, but we’ll be back!

We absolutely loved staying at this idyllic cabin for a week. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything you could need to enjoy the week: access to kayaks, life jackets, games, and the best kitchenware of any vacation rental I've been at. It was the perfect place to relax for the week with great access to Olympic National Park.

Small but perfect for a couple. Beautifully maintained and appointed throughout, well-stocked kitchen, beautiful bathroom, and glorious views right on the water. The big windows that open from the kitchen to the water are worth the price of admission. We loved it and we’ll be back!

We sold out 1940’s beach cabin and have been looking for the same feel and we found it! Having all the windows open and seeing the water wherever we were was wonderful.
Definitely want to come back.

Perfect place to stay if going hiking or just don't want to be in a big city. Relaxing and quiet. Perfect place for my daughter and me!

I did not want to leave! What a perfect place to get away and relax. This cottage is perfect for one person to be alone or for a romantic getaway for a couple. The oysters were delicious on the grill- what an amazing experience. It was also so clean, what a bonus!!

The property is beautiful, organized and clean. It is such a wonderful cottage, and we so enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and gazing at our view. Everything was easy to find, the bathroom has a glorious shower and we loved the Murphy bed. Great idea to save space in a small area, and was comfortable. Thanks for the great weekend! We can't wait to return.

This place was better than the pictures.
Very clean and nice attention to detail. Great views and right on the water too. Far enough away from town but close enough to go in and enjoy the shops. Also close to the trails in the National Park. We had a great time!

This is the cutest little beach cabin I have ever seen. It has had a bit of renovation, keeping the beach cabin vibe. The view is terrific, but you may need sunglasses while making breakfast. (There is a window shade...) There are huge opening windows in the front of the cabin, giving it an open-air feeling. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the Murphy bed was very comfortable. The kayaks are in good condition and so are the life jackets. We are going to make our way back here again. My only small complaint is that 11 AM seems more reasonable as a check out time.

Super cute little studio cabin. Perfect for a couple's get-away. Short drive to many trailheads - we went to the Staircase Rapids trail on the north end of Lake Cushman. Beautiful! Then came back to collect oysters and claims right in front of our cabin for dinner. Wonderful stay!

I absolutely loved this cottage. Everything was so thoughtful and lovely. The kitchen was well-appointed with good cookware and sharp knives (!). The view was stunning. I would return in a heartbeat.

A very comfortable place for two with a great deck and view.

The cottage was clean and comfortable - from the bed to the couches. The waterfront feel of the kitchen was our favorite as the windows open up and latch so that you can experience the waterfront from every corner of the studio cottage… thank you for a wonderful stay.

We were three generations from mid 20’s to 70’s and everyone had a great time. Rented cabins two and three with plenty of room for all of us. Thanks again Suzanne.

This charming cottage has been upgraded to have a modern kitchen area and bathroom, yet it retains the rustic feel of an older cottage.
The kitchen was well stocked with basics. All amenities were as advertised.
We were there for Valentine's Day (obviously in the winter). We didn't see anyone else in the neighborhood so it was very secluded. We had a nice walk on the beach. If you were to visit during the warmer months I'm sure it would feel like an open-air cottage. The windows are amazing!!
We had a few concerns about the Murphy bed before we arrived, but it was very comfortable with any bedding you might need.
We would visit again. If you are considering staying here, you won't be disappointed!

Great property that stayed warm during a snowy February weekend!
The oysters and clams from the beach in front of the property were delicious!
Everything was exactly as described, but if you're planning to do much cooking you might want to bring a few bits and pieces - there were no measuring jugs or roasting pan, and only one bowl! The TV (DirectTV) and DVD collection were great - if you want to bring a laptop to stream your favorites then you'll need a HDMI cable!
With those tiny caveats, we will be going back one day!

It was a romantic getaway. It was such a cute cottage! Suzanne was so great and gave us so much information. We were there at the beginning of December, and the power went out due to the heavy snow. Suzanne was so helpful during our panic and even gave us a refund! We will definitely be going back again during the summer!

We stayed here last August and we had a blast. The view is awesome, the oysters were fab. The house is small but was very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. Just perfect. Highly recommend the Hama Hama Oyster Saloon, few miles up north. We hope to visit again!

Second stay for us - close enough to only travel 1/2 day far enough to fully relax!
Cozy and vintage feel with all the modern conveniences
We’ll be back again

This cabin is spectacular. Anywhere from the wood finishings and windows to the sounds of the lapping waves accompanied with the intoxicating view of the mountains on the horizon. Thank you for having us. It’s a trip we will look forward to every year.
