About this house rental
This home, built in 2014, has been built for comfort and convenience. It is a spectacular choice for your Montana vacation that allows you to experience the exquisite and secluded mountain atmosphere and is filled with all the present-day amenities. We call it The Hideout.
As you drive up the 480ft private driveway, you will feel lost amongst the trees…until you reach the beautiful Hideout.
Simply drive into the garage and unload your luggage and skies into the elevator. At the push of a button, everything you brought will be sent to the correct floor. No more heavy lifting; this is your vacation!
Once inside, you still feel connected to the beauty of Big Sky. The house is covered with windows allowing you to take in the breathtaking views. Look out the 20-foot tall windows lining the reclaimed lumber staircase as the deer and moose mosey through the property. Start a wood burning fire in the vaulted great room with natural gas, no kindling needed. Grab a hot chocolate and relax on one of the two window seats overlooking beautiful Mountain View’s. Fall into the leather cushions on the couch and watch the foxes bound between the trees out of the 6-foot picture windows. Turn on the 75 inch HDTV complete with 6 speaker surround sound-- capable of playing all of your favorite songs from your computer/phone on this audio system.
While on the back deck, you can clip on your skis/snowboard and enter onto Low dog trail down to the Thunderwolf chairlift. Instead of meeting at one of the lodges for lunch, meet your friends and family back home. At the end of the day, you won’t have to worry about loading everyone into the car because you can practically ski into the ski room from the back deck! Take off those heavy boots and gloves and attach them to the boot/glove dryers, so you’re ready for the next day on the slopes.
Need to relax after a hike or day on the slopes? Head out to the hot tub and enjoy watching the stars in the evening. The tiles under the hot tub are heated, so no need to step into snow getting in or out.
The kitchen is filled with stainless steel Bosch appliances, a large farm-style sink, and an elevated dishwasher. There’s also an infrared grill on the deck right off the Living Room. The 2 Master bedrooms have 50 inch surround sound systems, and the other 2 bedrooms have TV's as well. The bathrooms contain custom-built vanities, marble showers, and heated toilet seats! It’s only 48 Miles to the West Gate at Yellowstone National Park.
The Hideout has an automatic humidification system built into it, so no more filling of those humidifiers!

We took our daughter and her two children on our first trip to Montana. This home has the perfect look and feel of what we expected Montana to be, except it exceeded all expectations.
The views, location, comfort and spaciousness could not have been better. No need to bring anything but your clothing to this Completely stocked home.

We stayed at the "the Hide-Out" for a family ski trip consisting of me, my wife, my two adult kids (26,28) and their significant others. This property is a GREAT location, it is well-appointed, and worked perfectly for our family ski trip to Big Sky. It is near the Mountain Village, is ski-in(literally to the back door)/ski-out (just a few steps to the trail) and has a GREAT hot tub with a fantastic, secluded, view. Bernie checked in with us via text to make sure everything was good (which it was). We HIGHLY recommend this property!

My wife and I plus two adult daughters had a wonderful week staying at this beautiful home. The house is very private, all you see are trees and mountains, no neighbors. The house was very well stocked with basic items, and the kitchen was very nicely equipped as well. The power went out one night, and thankfully, the house has a backup generator.
The owner was extremely responsive. The coffee maker died one morning, and by later that morning, he arranged for the property manager to drop off a new coffee pot.
The only slight negative was that the ski-in for a snowboarder is difficult due to several flat stretches on the cat trail. The ski-out is fantastic for both skiers and boarders.

This was the nicest rental property I have ever rented. A group of us pick a new location every year to ski/snowboard. This property was by far the nicest one we have ever stayed in. Everything was taken care of well, and Bernie was very quick to respond to any questions.

Great Ski In/Ski Out House
Very nice cabin - used it for a Father-Son ski trip. Slept 6 of us comfortably. Ski-Out is fantastic for anyone who is at least 3/10 skill level. Ski-In requires a little more control and experience to navigate without drama. Would definitely return.

Great house, hot tub issues
It is hard for me to review this property. I book based on three factors; ski in/out, beds, hot tub. The hot tub didn’t work the entire time we were there and I don’t feel the manger or owner acted with enough urgency. I spent all day every day following up. It put a dark cloud over an amazing trip.
Let’s talk about house. Wow! Beautiful home tucked back off the road. It feels very secluded, but if want to you could walk to base of resort. It is a true ski in/out as it backs right up to the run. (Make sure to get your tickets the day before as there is no customer service or ticket booth at bottom of the Thunder lift).
All the comforts of home with full kitchen appliances, plenty of wood for the fire place and common areas to accommodate 10 men. We could all dine around the table (with some adjustments), play card or just lounge in the living room.
The four bedroom were a little bit of a squeeze. The bunk room is great, but needs some airflow. Gets very hot. The queen bed is tucked into an office. It has a great view and everything you need in a bedroom except space. Ideal for one person or a couple that doesn’t need a closet.
I give the house 4 out of 5. I would recommend if the hot tub is replaced.

Perfect Hideaway!
Bernie's home in Big Sky is awesome! It had all the modern conveniences our family of 10 needed. The home had lots of windows to watch the snow and one morning we had a visit by a cute fox at the back door. The home is close to the Mountain Village but you need an SUV with all wheel drive as Big Sky has not perfected its transportation sources and did not have Uber service - that will surely come as Big Sky is getting very popular. We did manage to get a nice guy, John, with Mountain and Canyon Cab Company to help us on the days we needed to split our 5 passenger SUV. Half the group went to Yellowstone and needed the SUV all day. All in all we had a wonderful family gathering and even watched the old movie "Weekend at Bernie's" and recreated a couple pics to send to our host, Bernie, who joined in the fun! Bernie is very easy to work with and responds quickly to any questions....... Thanks, Bernie, for a fabulous resting place for our family!

Perfect trip!
We have a group of friends that get together for a ski trip every year. This is the first house we have stayed in that everyone unanimously agreed that we have to come back.
- Location is perfect with the closest ski-in/out we've ever stayed in.
- Hot tub is great after a long day on the slopes.
- Kitchen is very well appointed.
- Grille is great.
- Fireplace with plenty of firewood.
- Elevator to get all the gear to the top floor ski room, which has built-in boot and glove warmers.
Bernie is great and very quick to respond to any questions. Looking forward to staying here again in the near future.

Nature wonderland!
We loved this home and especially the location! We were a short walk to the resort for morning lattes and a convenient ride to town for Pilates classes. The very best part of our stay was seeing all the wildlife right outside the home’s many windows. We had daily visits from the neighborhood fox, deer wandering through the property, and a moose in our driveway for a great finale to our stay ! Thank you for a wonderful summer at your home!

Ski Mountain Perfection
My group of family and friends have arranged an annual ski trip for the last decade, but this is the first trip we've repeated exactly the same way the next year, and Bernie's house is the single biggest reason. That in itself should say enough, but let me list the reasons why:
--True ski-in/ski-out? Check!
--Lift access from the house that bypasses the base area? Check!
--Hot tub for relaxing your muscles after a long day of skiing? Check!
--Excellently equipped kitchen to facilitate dinner at home? Check!
--Wood burning fire place for warmth and ambiance? Check!
--An inviting central living room with enough seating for your whole crew to play games or watch the huge 4k TV with surround sound in the evening? Check!
--Comfy rooms and beds that show the owner not only owns the place but lives in it too and makes sure it's comfortable for the occupants? Check!
--Enough boot dryers and glove dryers to dry out a dozen pairs of boots and gloves overnight to prepare you for the next day? Check!
--Seclusion amongst a snowy forest of trees with no neighbors in sight? Check!
--Wifi for that pesky call from your boss mid-week? Check!
--Elevator to move all your ski gear from the spacious garage right to the back exit to the ski slopes without having to carry any of it up the stairs? Check!

Amazing Stay - Great Location
My friends and I had a wonderful stay in Big Sky. The ski in and ski out was great for a big group, we were all able to travel out to the mountain at different times and meet back for lunch everyday. The hot tub was an amazing touch to end a long day of skiing and riding. The place had all the amenities you could think of and cooking breakfast and dinner each night was a breeze! We had a wonderful time, only issue we had that we were warned about was getting up the driveway. unfortunately the rental company was out of 4WD for the van we requested so we weren't able to make it up the driveway, but Bernie allowed us to park at the end of the street which was greatly appreciated.

Spacious home with every necessary amenity. Wonderful communicative owner. Super easy ski-in/ski-out access with just a word of warning for the novice...if it gets icy the ski-in could be a tad intimidating. Our family enjoyed every second and we more than recommend this house as your go to spot!

Big Sky at its best
The mountain, the conditions, and the convenience and comfort of this beautiful home all contributed to our unforgettable ski experience. The house is so well appointed from the incredibly comfortable mattresses to the chef’s kitchen, the elevator, and hot tub. The wood burning fireplace with a gas starter is the best invention since the high speed lift. A great home for a large family or group of friends. 5 star experience

I’ve stayed in many VRBO’s over the years. This one is clearly a top-class property. Everything we needed was available. Neighborhood is perfect. Great ski-in/out. I’ll sum it up this way, every appliance, glass, bed, etc. is “top-shelf”. We hope to be back!!

Thanksgiving in Big Sky
We have been to Big Sky and Moonlight Basin multiple times over the years. This trip was made last minute to get away from town for Thanksgiving with our family of four and my mother. This house was perfect for us. And after having gone through a recent renovation, we appreciated all of the attention to detail on the construction of the space. The home is not cavernous, yet it is efficient, quiet, immaculate, thoughtfully appointed, with a great location for skiers. And prompt communication from Bernie. Perfect all around!

Another great time...
Our 2nd time here and again it didn't disappoint. Great for ski in/out. The ski out requires some pushing on days with snow - which is a nice problem to have. Bernie added on to the deck and moved the hot-tub out with heated tile around it - very nice touch. The wood fireplace is great and has a gas starter but it won't stay going unless you leave the gas starter on at least a bit. Would highly recommend and it would work great for two families as there are two master bedrooms.

great spot for ski in and ski out!
We loved our stay. We stayed 4 nights and skied 3 days straight. Being able to ski in and ski out was perfect. The hot tub was perfect to end each day of skiing. The beds were comfy, the house is stocked with everything you can think of. The fireplace is gas and real wood! It was perfect for our families.
Bernie was a great host with awesome communication. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Family Ski Vacation
Our family has rented many vacation homes and this may be the best! It is attractive and comfortable, and the kitchen was really well equipped. The elevator was very helpful for heavy ski bags, and we really appreciated the boot/mitten dryers. Two things to consider:
1. The ski in/ski out is awesome, but not for beginners! It is easy to ski to the lift in the morning, but the ski trail home is NOT for beginners or even low-intermediates.
2. The driveway is steep and winding. They plowed regularly, but you'd want to have AWD.

Beautiful house in an ideal location
The hideout was beautiful. It had everything we needed. The best part was being slope side where we could ski in and ski out, however be careful to read the instructions on how to ski back to the house.

Ideal ski-in / out house with great views and privacy
We had a great stay here with our family of five. Ski out is great...if you 'bomb' it out you can make it to the lift w/o pushing. (If it snows, you are going to be a pushing at the end a bit). Ski in is easy to find with the pictures provided in the ski room. May be a bit intimidating for a beginner but doable. Really easy to come and go for lunch or a break. The kitchen had great appliances and cookware. Elevator is a great touch for taking gear up 2 floors. Foosball table and plenty of other games. Fireplace has a gas starter. You can pull a full-size SUV into the garage with a Thule on top. Will hopefully be staying here again.

Great house...
Our ski group has been staying at various ski resorts from over 15 years. This year we stayed at the "Hide Out" and found it to be our all-time favorite. The house location was great, and easy to ski out. Skiing back would be a bit of a challenge for a begginer, but we found another option to return to the house by skiing back via Low Dog road (right to our driveway). The ski room on the top floor was perfect, and the elevevator made it easy to get our luggage up and down. The hot tub, large 2 car garage, the gas grill and gas starter on the fireplace were also very nice features. The house was very spacious, had great views, and the kitchen was well stocked. The owner was also extremely helpful. He sent us tips for using the remotes, fireplace and the grill. He also checked in a couple of times to make sure that things were going well. We definitely will look to stay here again on our next trip to Big Sky. Thanks for a great trip!

Perfect Big Sky home!!
Bernie’s place was perfect for our two families. We had 4 adults and 5 kids and we had more than enough space. The home is very new and had every single thing you could ask for including a ski room and a central humidifying system (key for us!). He is very responsive and helped to accommodate a few of our needs. It is also very very close to the base so it was convenient to make quick trips for pick ups and drop offs. All of the appliances are new and the utensils and cookware are new and not leftover crap from someone’s house. We cooked in most nights easily. We have nothing but good vibes from this awesome home. Thank you!

Christmas - New Year Family Fun
This is our second stay at this property and we are just as impressed as the first stay. Our holiday trip accommodated 10 family members which included 8 between the ages of 16 - 21 years old. Tough crowd to please, but it was unanimous, "best trip ever"! Family dinners, ski in ski out, card games, football watching, and lots of laughs. Short run to Thunder Wolf lift, awesome run back in on Mad Wolf!
Bernie is a fantastic host, checking in on our accommodations several times and covering all bases. For another year, we appreciate the decorated Christmas tree!
We will be back in the future for a third stay. Thanks Bernie!

A+ place to stay!
Spacious, clean and well stocked. Super ski in/ski out. At first a little tricky finding the cat walk from Silver Knife ski run to get back to the house, but once we found it it was a breeze. It is a bit of an intermediate slope to the house but totally doable. A 4-wheel drive is a must during the winter. A+ place to stay. Would return.
