Get ready to escape to our amazing 2BR/2BA Laguna Madre Bayhouse, which has the best sunrises and sunsets in the Coastal Bend and spectacular water views! Our bayhouse has a comfy beach style with plenty of lounge space in our living room. The living room has Digital cable Hi-Definition TV so while you are on vacation you can still catch all your favorite shows or sporting events. The living room also has a futon sofa for extra guests. Our kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs, with an open flow into the living room, so the cook never has to miss a minute of the action. This space is perfect for entertaining friends and family with the dining room, kitchen and living room all connected. Our two bedrooms are outfitted with bunks beds for friends and family to hit the hay after a long day out on the bay or beach. The first bedroom has two twin beds with one full sized bed under a twin bed and the other with two twin beds. The second bedroom has one bunk bed with a full sized bed under a twin. If you are anything like us, most of your time is going to be spent hanging out on our great front porch overlooking the Laguna Madre or on our 330 foot pier (please note that there are no lights at the end of the pier), just steps away from our front door. You can tie your boat up on the canal pier or just float in the water with friends and enjoy the sun!
With adjacent wetlands, there is some of the best bird watching in all of the Coastal Bend. Additionally, kids love the crabbing pier on the side of the house and everyone loves the private 330 foot unlit front pier into the Laguna Madre bay. Bluff's Landing Marina is the location of Laguna Reef Restaurant and Bluff's Landing Marina, where you can find all of your fishing needs. Laguna Reef serves typical Gulf Coast fare and has a ‘U-Catch em, We Cook em’ option! South Texas Bait and Boat Launch is the launch ramp that is on the same canal as our side pier. CCA/TPWD Fish Hatchery is the state's first saltwater fish hatchery (only 2 miles away) and a fun place to explore with family and friends.

This property shouldnt have even been available to rent. Very poorly represented in the listing. The owner even texted me after 10 oclock the night if arrival to ask if it was misrepresented. A gas leak was present. Expired food in the fridge and pantry, some evn as old as expiration in 2020. DiDirty bedding.

It was exactly the house we wanted long fishing pier we did catch some small drum and trout off the pier and even did some wad fishing since water depth was belt high and caught keepers while wad-fishing 4 bunk beds might make it rough for some but all we needed was a place to sleep and rest between fishing outings and trips

It is an easy and pretty drive from the house to the bait shop and HEB. Location is 100%. We have the whole peninsula and two piers to ourselves. Crabbing was fun, and fishing was even better. Slot reds love this sandy and grassy bay. There's a terrific food trailer nearby at this dive bar that has fantastic food, too. We had an amazing time. Kids flew kites and crabbed. We also caught five huge reds.

This house is nestled at the dead end street next to the marina. Perfect spot for the fishing enthusiast or family fishing trip outing. Our son enjoyed catching bait every morning and evening. The morning we left my father in law caught a slot red from the 300ft pier which made him never want to leave that property. Thank you for sharing this honey hole with us.

Overall we had a blast everything we wanted to do was near by. Our fishing guide picked us up at the pier in front of the house. The disgusting from the pier was awesome we caught a freezer full of fish just from the pier. Management was on top of their game aswell. We will definitely be back and recommend to our friends.

I knew from the pictures and reviews that this was a fishermans cabin. It was just like going to an old friends bay house or beach house. The house was just as pictured and described. Watching the sunrise and sunset was amazing. The pier doesn't have any lights on it, so be prepared if you plan to fish at night. The location of the lot made it feel very private. It was nice to have the water on 2 sides. We would have liked to stay another night.

My husband is from the area and we booked this property for the fishing pier and location. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest but it didn't stop him from fishing everyday! The property is close to shopping and activities. We would definitely stay again! Thank you Spence!

We had four fisherman stay and enjoy three nights at Spence's. We hired a guide to fish two days and really smacked them in the Laguna Madre. We met Captain JR Repka at Billings Bait Stand and he put us on the fish! We will be back to stay at Spence's probably this Summer! We really enjoyed staying at his home on the bay!

Spence called to see if we had any questions and told us to call or text with any concerns during our stay. We didn’t have any. Everything was just as listed and more.
It rained almost the whole weekend, but we still made some awesome memories. We caught pretty nice size fish off the pier out front and blue crab off the dock on the side. Despite the weather, we had a great time.

Spence's bayhouse is a great spot for fishing, crabbing and getting to other areas in the Corpus and Padre region. The causeway to the island is minutes away, as are bait stands, seafood markets and restaurants. The kitchen is extremely well-stocked with pots, pans, glasses, plates and anything else you could wish for in preparing meals. The 330' pier is a perfect place in the mornings, as the sun comes up over the bay to the east. Fishing was slow for us, but it was really hot and I can imagine how good it could be in cooler weather. We can't wait to get back!

The property was in a excellent location. The neighborhood is quiet and the house is at the end of a dead end street, so there wasn’t any traffic. Local grocery is only 4 miles away and several restaraunts options with then 5 to 15 min drive.
The house was clean and beds were comfortable. I definitely recommend Spence’s house to anyone inquiring about the property.

The Bayhouse is so comfortable and casual. We had everything we needed. Watching the shorebirds from the kitchen window was a delight, and we easily put our kayaks into the bay right from the property. Our host Spence was very responsive and helpful. Great stay!

Property was ok, nothing fancy. It stormed 90% of the time, which leads to my biggest beef. Property description says dock on side of house is where you can tie up your boat. What they didn’t tell you is that it’s a foot deep to get there.. so I had to tie up my boat to the pier in the open water, and the storms banged it around and broke the trolling motor and a rail section. They own a boat, so I know they are aware. I probably would not have booked if I had known.

Fun Getaway
My girlfriend and I came down for a break from the city and to do some fishing (w/ a guide, kayak, and from the pier). We didn’t catch much from the pier, but that might have something to do with the time of year, tide, etc. The house location was what drew us to it, as it is on the water with the private pier, and it is at the end of the street and mostly surrounded by water. There is an HEB+ nearby, and the bait shop/marina is a 1 min drive from the house. We had a great time overall.
