About this house rental

This spectacular oceanfront villa offers the perfect combination of privacy, comfort, and proximity to the town of Cabrera. The SeaDog Inn is a truly tropical island setting offering its own small and private snorkeling beach and generous accommodations.

Our spacious vacation home features a total of 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and can sleep 10 guests comfortably. The first floor comprises of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a suitable kitchen, dining space, and a welcoming living room. On this level, you'll find everything you need for a relaxing stay. The crowning jewel of our property is the master suite on the second floor, offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Additionally, we have our exclusive "Sunrise Suite" master, providing a unique and luxurious experience just 50 ft from the main house. There is also air-conditioning in each bedroom of the villa.

Our multi-language staff is there to assist you in every way you desire from fully cooked gourmet meals to complete privacy. They can also grocery shop, run errands, and show you around the area. It really is like being on a resort. We also encourage you to try the local restaurants, as they are both fun to visit and enjoyable to try.

The patio bar quickly becomes the gathering place at The SeaDog. The bar itself is framed with humpback whale bones collected by local fishermen from the Atlantic Ocean as they washed ashore. Outdoor seating and lounging areas add to the comfort and create a perfect area to enjoy. The pool’s infinity-edge design gives the illusion that it merges with the horizon, offering an uninterrupted view of the boundless sea. The attached waterfall adds an element of calmness as the water flows. If you’re traveling with children, they will absolutely love this!

Cabrera has everything close by from waterfalls to a historic lighthouse and natural crystal-clear lakes. The nearby beaches are fabulous with white sand stretching along the coastline. There are enough unique local restaurants to add an extra dimension to your Dominican experience. We'll supply you with a guide for your convenience.

Whether you're basking in the glow of the sunrise from the master suite or enjoying shared moments in the living spaces, this coastal haven promises a blend of relaxation and natural beauty. Embrace the experience of oceanfront living as you create timeless memories at The SeaDog Inn!

Our stay at Seadogs was everything we expected and more. Myself, my husband and our three kids aging from 13-17 loved our trip from NJ to Cabrera. Pros- The view is amazing of the ocean. All the palm trees surrounding the property are mesmerizing. We spend 90 percent of our time in the yard. We only used the house to sleep and shower. The Casita off the main villa is awesome. The view and beautiful breeze that comes through with windows open is amazing. Lucy and Anderson are exceptional people. They are so kind and accommodating. Every morning they would have the coffee brewed and breakfast cooking. It was such a treat. Lucy would ask if we would like dinner that night and we did have her cook for us all but 3 nights. We went out to some exceptional restaurants in town. I suggest Playa Grande for beach. It was the best beach we went to by far. We also visiting Dudú lagoon which was awesome. And we did the quads through the town with KingQuad. Anderson joined us to drive one of our kids. Con’s—The kitchen and master room upstairs had a ton of tiny tiny ants. We didn’t have many warm showers, power went out like 4 times during our stay. No board games, puzzles or yard games. Dog poop was picked up by me from property dog after sitting for 2 days. Biggest con is stairs are broken to get down to the private beach. Lots of garage down there. It would be nice to be able to access that as it was advertised to be a private beach. Although view was spectacular!

We did a fair amount of research prior to committing to the Seadog. My wife and I had been to the DR several times, mostly staying at upscale resorts in Punta Cana. This was the first visit for our two teenaged children and my mother-in-law. We were looking for something more immersed in the local experience, and we found it. Our group of five had a great time. We spent plenty of time connecting and spending time together at the property. It is designed for plenty of group interaction at the bar, pool and patio. But it is spacious enough to give everyone plenty of leeway to spend their own time reading or relaxing alone as well. The five bedrooms are split into four bedrooms in the main house and a separate mini-house with the final room, which is where my wife and I stayed. It is right at the edge of the cliff overlooking the ocean. This is an undersold feature of the property and one of our favorite amenities. Lucy and Anderson are as good as advertised. They are friendly, knowledgeable about the local area, and great hosts. We ate breakfast at the villa everyday and had dinner there all but four nights, when we ate at local restaurants with excellent suggestions and guidance from the two of them. Prior to going, we had seen reviews describing the Seadog as rustic. That is a good description. Lucy and Anderson keep everything clean and in working order, but it is not a five-star resort, nor is it trying to be. We enjoyed the authentic local living experience, and we regularly headed into Cabrera to the Super Mercado, restaurants, town waterfront, just to take a walk, etc., interacting with the locals in the process. That is exactly what we were looking to do. We did opt for the rental car and used it often. We went to Playa Grande / Playa Preciosa multiple times. It is about a 15 minute drive. It is a very nice beach area with a great sandy bottom and in-water experience. We went more more distant excursions to snorkel and to go canyoning (at Magic Mushroom, which you should consider if adventurous). Those attractions are out toward Sosua and an hour or more by car. By design, we were looking to be off the beaten path and many of the biggest tourist attractions are further way. There are great beaches, Laguna Dudu (worth a trip), some limited snorkeling right at the Seadog beach and other close-by activities, to be sure. But be prepared to drive to others. Overall, we loved our experience and would definitely do it again.

Really good experience. Maybe the most beautiful view you could ever imagine!! For those bringing kids, the bedroom that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean is detached from the house and VERY private😉
