Great location and space! Private lot but the location is 5-10 min from everything. Would recommend and stay again.

The home is comfortable, we all felt at home and were able to relax and enjoy our holiday.
The bed in the master bedroom is very high and probably needs steps at the bedside. I'm a tall woman and had difficulty getting into the bed.
The upstairs bathroom has a tub/shower combo and is shared between the three bedrooms. There are NO safety grab bars or even ledges to hold onto. The downstairs bathroom has nice a walk-in-shower.
The kitchen is well equipped with an abundance of pots, pans, and even a few casserole dishes. We were able to cook a traditional family Christmas dinner without problem.
Laura, our host was a pleasure to work with. She was very responsive to questions before our arrival. We found the property just as she promised. .

Lovely cozy log cabin style home. My family celebrated Thanksgiving here and it was perfect for our needs. The beds were very comfortable. We brought our dogs and the 2 acre yard was wonderful for them to run around. Minutes from the beach and lots of good restaurants nearby. Will stay here again.

We had a Wonderful time and loved meeting everyone. We met so many friendly dog owners on our walks. We stayed 45 nights and had good weather. We had timely information about our damage deposit. We love the cabin. Thank you to our host Laura. We certainly had a great long vacation. We Enjoyed the cabin and ample yard Thanks to Vrbo and hosts.while there. Hope we can return. We certainly enjoyed the area also. There were so many places to explore. The cabin cleanliness was superb. We had plenty of room for our small dog too.

Laura's log cabin, tucked in the beautiful old Florida oaks dripping with Spanish moss, was a pleasant surprise. An older home, it has so much character and charm! It was a very relaxing stay and quite convenient to local restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping. Coffee in the mornings just off the kitchen was especially nice with a view of the trees and pond out back. We were visited twice in our short 4-day stay by wild turkey. The home sits back off the road on a quiet dead-end street, so traffic noise was a minimum. The lot is long and narrow, and there are homes on each side. However, we never saw or heard anyone in either home, so we felt as if we were quite secluded. The piano was a wonderful treat, and our daughter loved playing it each evening. My only "wish" (because we have no complaints!) would be to have had cleaner windows. I realize that seems like a petty item, but they were quite dirty and it just made everything seem a little "tired." Also, the owners have a LOT of their personal items in the home, so I sometimes felt like I was intruding. Maybe fewer small knick knacks might be better?? Lastly, the "1 mile walk to the beach" includes the need to cross a major highway (FL A1A) and the traffic was quite heavy through the intersection. If we had been traveling with small children, this would have been a concern.
All in all, Laura was an excellent host, easily reached by email and/or text for any questions. If you are looking for a quaint spot near Mickler's Beach in Ponte Vedra, then I'd happily recommend you check this place out.

*Beware* of this host!
We had a multi-month booking, and what a horrible experience it was. Host grilled us from the beginning claiming their property is special and needs extra attention. Come to find out, it is just old and outdated and prone to breaking. Host required us “after booking already” to sign an additional agreement, which VRBO didn’t even acknowledge once we had to file a claim against the host. House had a toilet leak into the kitchen to which they didn’t get fixed for almost 3 weeks so we lost use of one of the bathrooms, then their fridge breaks down and we lose all of our food and then their snoopy neighbor that doubles as their cleaner kept harassing us the entire time. The neighbor will smoke on the hosts property and leave cigarette butts, so be careful!!! because the host used that to cancel our reservation claiming we smoked on her property. What a nightmare experience from beginning to end, and the host essentially stole half of our booking rate, to which we are still working to get back. They claim we were not being clean, but the host left a huge pot of food in the kitchen and the whole house was covered in bugs upon our arrival. I wish I could give negative stars for this entire experience.

Excellent!!
We had an amazing time staying in this artistic, magical & peaceful cottage. The natural beauty of Florida surrounding the house was amazing. We saw deer, listened to the birds and swam at the beach everyday.
Every inch of the house has artistic flare and is so cozy. We cannot wait to plan our next visit!!!
Thank you for sharing this special place with us.

A fairytale cabin in the woods.
I sleep much better here than my own home and feel like I am at home every time I stay. I’ve been here at least three times and plan on going more times and just love the surroundings. Whether it’s getting up in the morning and watching the deer that quietly walk by or the wild turkeys or seeing the sun sat in the backyard in the evenings, this log cabin is like no other place I have ever found. Highly recommend.

The property is in poor condition and should not be rented.
We found the following:
Mold/mildew smell in the entire home
Mold in washing machine
Back deck in disrepair
Front deck covered in debris
Missing railing on inside stairway
No ventilation in the kitchen over the range
At least a 20 minute walk to the beach not 7 minutes as stated
Cabinets and closets full of owners cloths and personal items
No toilet paper
No paper towels
No hand soap

Peaceful patch of nature near to beach and town
Property is charming - old oaks with air plants swaying from branches, lush greenery everywhere, mesmerizing view to the back yard. Great location - near beautiful Mickler's Beach, close to Guana Preserve, short drive to St. Augustine or Jacksonville, plenty of dining nearby, great fishing, kayaking, biking.
House is cozy, country cottage like. It was clean, had a well equipped kitchen, plenty of sitting areas, comfortable beds, plenty of towels, etc.
Laura was great at communicating and very helpful with all of our needs for various recommendations.
We had a very nice and relaxing family vacation, thank you!

Very cool place. Would have liked more time.
If you don’t like funky this place might not be for you. But if you value authenticity and a real old Florida experience coupled with convenience, do yourself a favor and book this place. Host is super responsive. And I loved it. Fun and original. Beds super comfortable. Backyard is great for being quiet and listening to wildlife. But close to PVB restaurants and all other local attractions. Recommended.

Nice Getaway
This property has great location, very close to Ponte Vedra beach at Mickler's Landing. Big backyard with bunch of turkeys! Great place to get away from it all!

Lovely stay at Laura’s Lovely Cabin
From the first correspondence with Laura you can tell that she leads with her heart and that love is apparent in her lovely cabin. The cabin is well-appointed with a great layout, warm colors, and and fun fabrics. There is a gorgeous sun room where you will spend most of you time looking at the the beautiful trees and Spanish moss. Inside is cozy with lots of interior lights to make it feel bright. The cabin is set far back from the street so it is very private; cell service can be a bit spotty, but if you just move to another room it is not a problem and you are able to work from home. The internet works great and there was a beautiful desk space and enough spots where two people could set up and work comfortably. The location is great for nature lovers (we saw deer, tree frogs, skinks, turkeys, raccoons, hawks, and a hummingbird) and you can easily run or walk to the beach or through the trails at Guana. Our golden retriever loved the big back yard and chasing all the wild life. This area generally Is great for golfers (with TPC and world of golf not far) and beach lovers too (Mickler’s beach is dog friendly). If you plan to rent a boat, the cabin is near doctor’s lake, black creek, and other cool spots to pull up. The cabin is close to the supermarket and restaurants too. It’s the best of both worlds because you feel secluded but you’re in the middle of everything. Neighborhood is very safe and everyone we encountered was friendly and kind. The only thing I would point out is that there is not a pool on the property or as part of the neighborhood association (just to clarify there is a community pool in the town) and because you are near the woods pack your bug spray. I would stay here again/recommend it to a friend who was looking for a unique stay in Florida. Loved it! Thank you, Laura!

Hidden gem!
We had such a great time on our vacation. The home is nestled off the road and in the woods, with the reserve in the backdrop. Given it is N. FL and there are lots of trees, so bring some tick spray. There are neighbors to the sides, but one house is closer to the front of the property and the neighbors to the other side seemed nice.
Laura was very helpful and responsive and we hope to stay again one day!

Unexpected gem in the middle of Ponte Vedra!
We absolutely LOVED this property. It was such an unexpected find that was perfect for our Spring Break get away. All of the furniture including the beds was super comfortable and the decor makes you feel right at home. The yard was great for our dogs and there is lots of shade for enjoying the front porch and deck. The kitchen is well equipped with quality cookware and the washer/dryer is a plus. Laura was very responsive and a perfect host. The beach is super close and the house is convenient to Jacksonville and St. Augustine. Overall, the property is just so comfortable and makes you feel like you are visiting someone’s home rather than a rental property.

Lovely Stay in Great Location!
My husband and I stayed at Laura’s wonderful log home with our dog for seven nights. “Old Florida,” “peaceful retreat” and “unique” all accurately describe the property because guests may quietly enjoy R&R under the home’s canopy of mature oaks hearing the songbirds or within minutes access a wide variety of activities. Numerous local parks, a clean, spacious YMCA with 25-yard outdoor pool (we found no long course public pool in the area), a very nice beach with off-street parking that allows leashed dogs, the Guana River Wildlife Management Area for biking and hiking, a national estuarine research reserve, i.e. the “GTM,” with its educational visitor center and programs for the public (walks, lectures, kayak tours), and LOADS of stores and restaurants are literally minutes away. Jacksonville and St. Augustine are less than 30 miles from the home and within an hour’s drive are two national monuments, Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas. Fort Mose Historic State Park, also a designated National Historic Landmark, is not to be missed for it’s history and natural beauty although closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Laura’s retreat.

We fell in love with this log cabin the moment we drove up to see it!
My review is a little different. You see, we booked this beautiful cabin many months ago and were so looking forward to getting away from Maryland's harsh winter for 6 glorious weeks of Florida sunshine. Unfortunately, my husband injured his leg (severely) right before we were to leave so we had to cancel. However, the gracious owner let us visit when we were in FL this past August and we absolutely knew we had made the right choice. It is so lovely, secluded, yet close to golf courses, the beach and fine dining. You are "in the woods' yet a short drive to everything. You have to see this lovely, charming cabin yourself - you won't be disappointed, I promise!

Unique Property. Conveniently Located
Laura communicated very well from the initial booking inquiry request, during our stay, and afterward, which was much appreciated when any questions arose. The location is excellent to access Mickler/Guana Beach areas, Ponte Vedra Beach shopping, and Sawgrass. It’s a safe one mile walk to the sand.
As quiet and private as the house felt, it was hard to believe all of the aforementioned was so close by the property. The log cabin style home itself was very unique for the area. We twice saw a doe and yearling in the backyard and a flock of wild turkeys every day. The landscape is very much “old Florida,” with beautiful tall oaks, Spanish moss, fan palms, and a swamp/pond area. Mosquitoes, of course, come along with that, so come prepared with spray.
The house was equipped with everything we needed to cook, do laundry, and most importantly, relax.
Book with confidence!
Thank you, Laura.

Perfect for a getaway!
We have friends in the area so we come down to visit fairly often, but we've never been more satisfied than we were after our experience here! The property is well maintained and hidden behind a large front yard enveloped by old trees. It's comfortably nestled away, but still a short distance from the beach, grocery stores, restaurants, shopping etc.. The house was spotless when we arrived, beautifully decorated with old furniture, and fully equipped with all modern appliances. The owner was always quick to respond and did everything she could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. It's also the perfect place to grill out on the back porch after a long day at the beach! Can't wait to book again! 5 stars!

Best of both worlds! The sun and the shade!
What could be better after a day at the beach or on the golf course than to return to the solitude of this unique beach haven, nestled among palm trees and giant oaks over 2 acres of natural beauty.....drinks on the deck every night while barbecuing and listening to the sounds of the Iguana Reserve! The house is setback several hundred yards from Neck Road along a lengthy drive which is a treasure in itself. It is beautifully furnished and if you are a pianist you will be in second heaven playing on the baby grand piano. We are planning to visit in the cooler seasons also and enjoy a roaring log fire in the large stone fireplace! The kitchen is well equipped with black granite countertops and great appliances and the bedrooms are beautifully decorated with very comfortable mattresses. It's a beautiful walk to what is Ponte Vedra's only beach with parking, a bathroom and outdoor shower! As much as we enjoyed the beautiful beach in all truth we couldn't wait to get back to our charming log cabin each day and swing on the porch! It's a regular occurrence to see a group of wild turkeys strut by and a deer or two....certainly not your typical noisy 3 bedroom concrete condo. And if you are unfamiliar with Ponte Vedra proper, it is very upscale with wonderful restaurants and shopping. This was our second visit and it won't be our last. If we could work from home, we'd stay a month!

Cool Cabin
We enjoyed a week there in late March.
Property - The cabin itself is nice but more quaint than anything. The condition seemed to be maintained but in a more rustic way (examples - some florescent lights, 70's feeling bathrooms and even electrical outlet covers missing in spots on baseboards). We had to dig around some to find spare toilet paper and paper towels and there was only 1 or 2 dishwasher pods. And we got a BYO ice message. The lot may be 2 acres but it is a narrow and long 2 acres with a large pond/ swamp - so don't assume a wide and spacious lot. I think there is smaller out-parcel cabin in the very back the owner's son lives but he was respectful and we only saw him once when he wanted to water plants and he texted in advance.
Area - It is about a 1 mile walk to the public beach at Mickler Rd. There are sidewalks but you must cross a very busy road at A1A .. I didn't really understand that looking at the map. It backs up to a nature area you can see on the map but most of the property along Neck Rd was private homes so you can not really see the nature area without feeling like you are trespassing on someone's property. We used the public beach down the road in the Guana Nature Preserve it was much less crowded but with a $3 parking fee.

COMFORTABLE AND COZY
We very much enjoyed our stay. The house is comfortably furnished and since it was winter, we especially enjoyed the wood burning fireplace in the living room. It is very pet friendly and a lovely beautiful setting!. Laura was very responsive to all of our questions and needs. It is pet friendly which was important to us. Snuggled deep on a wooded lot you feel very remote, but it is wonderfully located to shops, restaurant and the beach. It had lots of special places to sit and contemplate the surroundings or just sit and read. Loved the little office/sunroom on the front of the house, the swing on the front porch and the back porch with a view of the preserve. We had a lovely month there.

Fabulous Florida retreat
The owner and this location allowed me and my family to have a fantastic reunion. My nephew got married in Jacksonville and we all wanted to stay together to visit. We represented Alabama, Nevada, California and Arizona. All came together in this cabin snuggled in a very lovely quite neighborhood. Minutes to everything yet away from all the hassle and bustle. The moss hangs in the trees providing a fabulous canopy for the property. Just beautiful.
The owner was VERY responsive throughout the planning. She also was available if needed during our stay. I can't wait to return to this lovely gem!

EXCEPTIONALLY AWESOME!
Our stay was way to short to fully enjoy this awesome location. Tucked back in a wooded hide away, this home embodied tranquility, relaxation and rejuvenation. From the front porch swing to the awesome, eclectic decor we were blown away and immediately started planning a return visit. Seconds from the beach and golf this home was much more than we anticipated. Would actually like to give this rental a 10 out of 10! Recommend this rental to anyone looking for a restful, relaxing environment that provides the illusion of off-grid life thoughtfully interwoven with nature while being totally connected. Thanks Laura, looking forward to visiting again!

Most lovely serence experience!! Cant wait to come back!
The log house is even more charming than its' pictures. I LOVED the modern kitchen and cooking on the charcoal grill on the back deck. Beautiful views on both the front and back porch where we saw several deer and birds. We loved how close it was to the beach and grocery, restaurants, etc.
The owner was very helpful with answering all of our questions and helping us with everything we needed. We can't wait to come back!

Fabulous Amenities and Location so close to PV Beach!
This has been the best VRBO experience - everything went as planned and then much more! Laura has been extremely responsive and going above and beyond to ensure that my family's visit to Ponte Vedra Beach was fantastic. Laura answered my emails very quickly and that was appreciated. Three bedrooms ( huge master suite) upstairs along with 1 full bath. Separate HVAC thermostats upstairs and downstairs. The other full bath is downstairs so that was very convenient while we were lounging there.
The house is clean, fully stocked with all sorts of kitchen appliances, plates, utensils, glassware, first class linens, gas grill, washer, dryer, etc… The house has plenty of room to relax including a great swing on the front porch and another fun swing in the indoor back sunroom too. It is very cozy and well decorated.
The beach is just down Mickler's Road and the Preserve beaches a short drive away. Games, books, fireplace, plus a very safe and pretty neighborhood for strolls. The size of the house's lot is large and peaceful- plenty of parking spaces and it is well lit at night.
Great restaurants in the area ( really enjoyed Palm Valley Fish Camp- but make advance reservations) Beach Diner sounded great but we decided to cook breakfast and relax at the house instead. Publix is not far away for picking up groceries.
On the way from Jacksonville, we stopped in Atlantic Beach ( go to Two Dudes Seafood) and then one day we went south to St. Augustine. ( enjoy Hyppo Gourmet popsicles) Both are easy drives and fun to explore.
Thank you Laura for our great adventure- we hope to return again!

STARFIRE
We have stayed in five places in this area. By far, this was the best. The house was very well equipped, extremely clean when we arrived, the owner was very responsive when there were any questions. I love the location, it is quiet, very lovely. The house is comfortable, unique and scenic. Definitely pet friendly which makes a huge difference to us.

Great Vacation Home
My husband and I stayed in the log cabin for a few days to visit with family. It was an enjoyable stay! The location was perfectly nestled between the calm of the Guana River and the necessities offered by Ponte Vedra (restaurants, beach, shopping, etc.). The cabin itself is very cozy and accommodating. I will be definitely keeping this place on my list of places to stay again!

Great weekend stay!
What a nice cabin to stay in and enjoy the nearby sites and attractions! Comfy beds, a convenient kitchen, and it's easy to get to the beach or nearby wildlife reserve. Or, just sit on the back porch and see the wildlife (including wild turkeys!) come to you. Nice place!

Family with kids and dogs!
Due to the timing of closing on our new home we were in desperate need of a place to stay for at least 1 week, which turned into 2 weeks, which turned into needing 2 more days. Laura provided us with flexability, understanding, patience and a cabin that provided our family the space. The location provided us with access to everything including a beautiful beach minutes away.

Awsome location for any type of activitiy
What a great place to get away without being far from all that Florida is about. The log cabin is just as quaint as the pictures portray. We had a wonderful experience all around. If you enjoy seeing wildlife this is the place, as it is so close to a federal wildlife reserve and park. We were also pleased with the constant communication with the owner when we had questions or concerns. The beach is a very short drive to good parking and a short walk. Would highly recommend this house for a memorable stay.

Amazing stay for the TPC
This place was fantastic for the TPC. A friend and I arrived and "checked in" on Thursday morning and attended all 4 days of the Tournament. It is just a few miles from Sawgrass, but best of all you are coming from a direction most aren't so you avoid the traffic. It is also so close to the beach. I mean literally just through a traffic light to Mickler's Landing. The house itself is wonderful. Kitchen and bathrooms both very updated and nice. There is also plenty of space and a great back porch. All in all we had a fantastic stay!

This is a gem.. a quaint, charming log house tucked back on a couple acres and only a short walk the beach or a minute's drive to the only public parking beach in ponte vedra. Folks are out biking and walking their pets... truly 'old Florida' on a dead end street with a canopy of old giant oaks draped with spanish moss. We got a total break yet we were minutes from the best restaurants and golf courses in PV. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. The owner was a great help to us with every question. Our only problem... WE WISHED WE COULD HAVE STAYED LONGER!!!! We will definitely be back in the future, thank you for a wonderful time.

If you are looking for something other than the typical condo experience in PVB, this rental might be the answer.
We arrived for our two month stay late in the day in the pouring rain on New Years Day 2014. The house was dark inside and looking out we could bareluy see anything. I began to wonder if we had made a good decision. The next morning I looked out the window to see the lush greenness everywhere, the beautiful tall trees that dot the property, and the rafter of turkeys that wonder through the yard almost daily. A true nature lovers paradise, and only a mile from Micklers Beach.
The location on Neck Rd is ideal, close to all PVB has to offer and yet removed from the parking lots and close quarters of more developed areas.
A nice kitchen with a view of the scenic yard, a lovely living room with large stone fireplace, and my favorite space--the office with walls of windows that look over the front yard and the grand trees, and finally 3 bedrooms, including the large master. The beds we slept in were very comfortable for us.
Traveling with a small dog, we loved being able to give him a good walk without having to leave the property. When we did walk him on the road, we met friendly people and enjoyed seeing the variety of homes and estates in the area. Often I walked or rode my bike to the beach, which was so close by. (Note: there is an enclosed area for your dog if you choose to leave you dog outside without being leashed.)
Log homes may not be everyones preference, but if you like rustic and enjoy natural surroundings, I expect you will like this wonderful house and its setting.
We had absolutely no problems with the owner. She treated us very well, and I suspect the problems she has had with certain tenants may have to do with unrealistic expectations and/or how some renters abuse the privilege of renting a home.
5.0
My husband and I spend our Christmas vacation with our two small children (2 and 3yrs old) in this great cabin! The owner was so sweet and allowed us to bring our two small dogs with us! The cabin is packed with unique antique furnishings and lots of rustic charm, but it is not so fancy you are scared your kids will break everything! A huge plus for me was the floor plan- the open kitchen/sitting area was perfect to cook your meals and keep an eye on your children. There is so much nature surrounding the property that it is really a nature adventure for your children to explore, our girls loved seeing wild turkeys walk by in the morning. People need to keep in mind this is a LOG CABIN that sits on a BEAUTIFUL nature reserve, with that you might see bugs and critters... but that is Florida! If you want an environment without bugs and/or critters I suggest you not come to Florida. There is a gorgeous beach about a mile away, and TONS of family activities in the surrounding areas; Alligator Farms, the old town of St. Augustine, the list goes on. This was a GREAT experience for us and we WILL be back again!
5.0
My family and I stayed here for several days over the holidays, using the cabin as a retreat from the holiday/family gatherings which took place at another family member's house nearby. It was perfect for that! Anyone looking for a secluded, quiet and quaint place to stay, that is also nearby all the attractions that Ponte Vedra and Jax have to offer will love it. Keep in mind, IT IS A LOG CABIN (it's rustic) and it's located on 2 acres of heavy-growth palms, palmettos, and Oaks on the coast of FLORIDA...if you are expecting Four Seasons furnishings and no bugs, you should consider staying somewhere else -probably not in Florida. We enjoyed our stay and found the accommodations comfortable, clean, and fully functional. (we saw NO bugs, but wouldn't have been surprised if we had) We were visited each morning by a flock of wild turkeys and enjoyed sitting in the porch swing in the evenings.
In summary, it's a great little get-away type place, very peaceful and relaxing. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or to recommend it to friends or family members visiting the Ponte Vedra area.

DO NOT STAY HERE, I have to agree to some extent with Katie with regards to the home, I moved in after them, the owner is actually very nice but still turned around and kept our entire security deposit. The home is disgusting, there are bugs everywhere, no t.v , old broken furniture and beds, plumbing doesn't work, toilets don't flush, kitchen sink smells, dish washer does not work and it is hot dark and miserable, I had tics on me, my baby got a tic on him, my dog caught flees and had tics on him, no matter how much you clean it feels dirty. The owner called me various times to set up having people come over and do things which obviously ate in to my own personal time, I was not at all bothered by this until the bill. She wanted me to have the home cleaned weekly by her friend at my own expense, I was absolutely not ok with this so we agreed on 2 weeks, midway through our 4 week stay, nothing was mentioned, house was cleaned, everything was fine. We had a very good relationship with the owner, she told us how excellent we where as tenants and wished my family the best. Well then she sent me a large cleaning bill, claiming the 20 year old disgusting couches had a pen mark in them and so she charged us damages and had them all professionally cleaned, if you threw those couches on the street, no one would even take them they are that foul. Then when I was annoyed by this she proceeded to give me a lecture on life as if I were a child and how this is basically how the world is and how I can learn from this experience. After A miserable month for my family, bugs, dirty, hot, dark and just degusting, put out multiple times while the owner had workers etc. come by then at the end of it all to take my damage deposit, (with no damages) and use it in an attempt to clean that old nasty cabin, with 1 person (HER FRIEND), not a care in the world for how I was put out for hours at a time for her, I would advise you take this review seriously and look elsewhere, this home is nothing like the pictures and for the same price you could have a beautiful home in the same area, there are many homes for rent in Ponte Vedra, its a beautiful place, don't ruin it by staying in this cabin. The cabin is bad the owner will keep your deposit, its just not a good experience. I have never written a review before but this experience forced me to. STAY AWAY
