About this cottage rental
The Larkin Cottage is nestled amongst redwood trees just 3 minutes from the village of Mendocino. It is on the same property as the live-in owner's main residence. The cottage includes all the amenities of home. The kitchen is furnished with ample dishes and pots and pans should you decide not to enjoy the many wonderful restaurants in the area. A gas BBQ is located on the deck. The living room is equipped with a flat screen TV, DISH high definition service, WiFi, blue tooth dock for music on your phone or tablet, DVD player, and a DVD library of movies filmed in the area. The bedroom features a queen size Sleep Number bed outfitted in luxurious linens including a down comforter and plenty of fluffy pillows. Waiting for you outside are porch rockers, a private hot tub, and lush gardens.
The Larkin Cottage property is abundant with beautiful flowers. Care has been taken to make sure that something is blooming every month of the year. The gazebo is a perfect spot for a small wedding.
PLEASE NOTE: Cal Trans has removed the trees on the west side of the property due to bridge construction. This construction can create noise during the day. The estimated completion date is Fall of 2025.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lots of space, lovely garden, comfortably furnished, wonderful art work, well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed sitting on the front deck in the evening while having a picnic dinner. Linda has done an amazing job making the Larkin Cottage a welcome place. We plan to return in the future.

We spent 3 nights at the Larkin Cottage and wished for more. The place was perfect to finish up our 10 California road trip. It was in a great location to venture up and down the coast. Knowing that we had a nice place to come back to and make our own meals then relax in the hot tub was comforting. The property was gorgeous with all the gardens and flowers. The owner was very informative and communicated everything we needed to know.

This is a cute, little cottage, well-equipped, and comfortable. It is maybe 3 minutes by driving from the Village of Mendocino. The kitchen is very small, with little counter space, but adequate for making simple meals. We enjoyed the view of the ocean and the surrounding garden. The host is very responsive and helpful. The hot tub was a treat and we would have loved to used it more if the weather had been cooler.

Conveniently located, easy access, loved how it was decorated with subtle touches added throughout. Use email to communicate with others, since cell service/text not available much on property. Husband’s computer worked great though. ♥️ Highly recommend this venue!

We were extremely happy with our stay at the Larkin Cottage. For starters, the location is perfect - just a quick 5 minute drive to the center of Mendocino.
The cottage is so charming and inviting. You can tell that Linda puts care into it's upkeep and maintenance. And, how great to have a private deck, hot tub and yard right outside the back door.
Linda went the extra mile and left us a lovely gift basket to help us celebrate our birthdays.
This is now our "go to" place when we visit Mendocino for a weekend getaway.

We absolutely loved everything about the Larkin Cottage! It is just the right size for 2 people, and has all the comforts of home. Linda’s communication was thorough and timely. The location between Mendocino and Fort Bragg was ideal for our needs. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and cozy fireplace. What a great place to curl up and read one of the many books that Linda has available! We visit the coast several times each year, and we definitely plan to return to the cottage. Thank you, Linda!

The Larkin Cottage is a beautiful little gem. It is exactly as described, in excellent condition, very clean, and beautifully appointed. Every little detail is thought of. The Larkin Cottage was a perfect respite during our Pacific Coast vacation! It was cozy and warm after a day of sightseeing! Linda was very helpful with all of our questions. We enjoyed all of the material she made available in the cottage regarding restaurants, hikes, etc. We had our best dinner with views at Albion River Inn Restaurant, Mendocino Cafe, and Patterson’s Pub! It’s a cozy, lovely space. The host Linda has provided so many touches, among them fleece robes, a useful gift basket with snacks and wine, a special anniversary gift, tons of quality towels, many bed pillows of every loft, a kitchen with quality knives and all the basics. The hot tub was also a great perk! The location is just outside of town, just a couple of minutes away. It’s near highway one, but at night it is very quiet. This host has real pride of ownership. She provides everything possible for a nice stay.

The cottage was better than described. The bed was comfortable, the spa was clean & hot. There were plenty of linens and comfortable robes to sit on porch and enjoy the fresh ground coffee. The kitchen has everything you need. It was a great opportunity to unplug and reconnect with nature and each other.

Linda is an exemplary host and communicator. The cottage is very well maintained, with comfortable furniture, lighting from its many windows, nicely stocked kitchen, gas fireplace, and accessible WiFi. Outside, the gardens are beautiful, the location is quiet and nicely accessible to Highway 1 and the town of Mendocino. This was our second stay. Perhaps there will be a third!

The Larkin Cottage is one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed. It’s incredibly pretty with the yard full of blooming trees and bushes, flowers and ground cover. It’s a welcoming, comfortable home away from home. Linda takes great care of her property. The guest house couldn’t be sweeter either. It’s an ideal location just outside of Mendo proper, and a world unto itself!

Lovely property and cottage to celebrate our 50th anniversary. The kitchen is cozy but has everything you'll need. The cottage itself was roomier inside than I expected. The gas fireplace was great to hang out by. Linda, the owner was so welcoming with a gift basket left on the bed and helpful restaurant tips for us. We highly recommend staying here.
