Our second stay at Cove Cottage was even more enjoyable than our first earlier this summer. Went kayaking, canoeing with the 2 dogs and relaxed on the beach. Beautiful weather, comfortable cottage. Everything we needed. Definitely recommend.

We truly enjoyed our vacation here in Plymouth! It is a very unique property, that is very hidden and private. We enjoyed swimming, canoeing, and fishing off the dock at the lake. A few things you should know about the property: It is wonderful but RUSTIC. No AC, or TV’s, but there is wifi. The walls are thin and not insulated, so bugs can come in. The property is difficult to drive in and out of because of the bumpy driveway and road leading up to it. We enjoyed unplugging and enjoying nature as a family, so it was perfect for us.

My husband and Cavalier King Charles had the best time. The cabin had everything we needed and more. Great location; steps to our own private beach. Fishing kayaking. Sounds of birds in the morning. We barbecued most nights. Had a short 15 minute ride to Plymouth Center for some seafood. We will be back. It was a peaceful and restful vacation. Cathryn the hostess; was very gracious; she made herself available if needed. just a great experience.

My husband and I stayed at Cove Cottage for a week in July with our two dogs and it was wonderful. Didn't take much time to feel at home. The house was comfortable and really had everything we needed. The dogs were happy and it was a very private location so we weren't on top of neighbors. There were plenty of options to walk the dogs. The market is about 2 miles away for groceries - a very pleasant place. We ate at Redbrook's restaurant a couple of times and had fried clams on the Plymouth waterfront. The bedroom was super comfortable and the quiet was a delight. The wifi was fast and if you miss having a tv, you can always stream something on whatever device you bring. We woke up to the birds every morning and enjoyed their singing throughout the day. We canoed around the entire pond early Sunday morning and spoke with friendly folks out fishing and two women rowing sculls the length of the pond. They went a lot faster than we did. It was hard to go home, so we booked another week at the end of August. Hopefully, we'll be back next year, too.

Very cool place, with lots of privacy.

By the far the best overall trip we have ever taken. The property and cabin far exceeded any of our expectations. You are totally secluded on the property. The private beach is the perfect size. The pond was warm. The water is crystal clear. The cabin is so inviting. The outside shower is an awesome experience. The location is excellent cape cod and Plymouth are a short drive. Excellent seafood markets. Cannot go wrong with this place.
Highly recommend to anyone!! Property manager was available for any questions. We are avid travelers with our dogs this vacation tops them all for overall experience.

Wonderful stay in a private cabin for the family. Summer camp feel with all the necessities. The cabin was perfect for our family of four. Spent a lot of time right at the lake. Kayaking and exploring. Lots to do to keep young ones busy and tons of wildlife. Heads up If you have a lower riding vehicle- the driveway in is a bit rough. Host is very responsive and helpful.

Literally everything you could need was provided. Microwave, coffee maker, toaster, mixer, Tupperware, even a coffee grinder. Nice Weber grill on the back deck.
My daughter loved the kids loft above the living room. And it was fun introducing her to old bands with the record player.
We used the canoe and kayak, the water was perfect. We even caught a fish casting from the dock.
Definitely want to come back again next year.

We loved our week at the Cozy Cottage, even though it rained a fair amount. The cottage is rustic and quirky, but it has all the kitchen appliances and equipment that we could want--even a dishwasher--and it was comfortably furnished. There's a washing machine, but no dryer, so we hung our laundry on the line when the weather was good, and on a large wooden rack when it rained. It's located at the end of a winding, bumpy dirt road--best to drive a car with good clearance. It felt like being at my late grandfather's getaway cottage.
This isn't for everyone, but if you're looking for an old time getaway, this is the place. There is no TV, but there are dozens and dozens of books in the bookcases. The vinyl collection is classic. On rainy days we settled into the stuffed chairs and read with the sound of rain on the roof. It's just a perfect place to de-stress and unwind.
On the sunny days we spent time at the lake, enjoying the canoe and kayaks. Our dog had so much fun swimming in the clean, clear water and jumping off the dock.
Cathryn was very responsive and easy to deal with. We shopped at Market Basket and highly recommend Gunther Tooties for fresh NY style bagels.

Secluded, clean, well-appointed cabin on the lake with a private dock and beach. Perfection! Wake to the birds and have coffee on the deck before a morning swim with the dog. Head to the harbor for a lobster roll and a stroll in the village. Evenings spent listening to a killer record collection and playing games around the table.

The cottage is a special place, set in the woods it is quiet and peaceful. My husband and I spent our days kayaking and enjoying the private beach as well as exploring. We loved listening to music courtesy of Cathryn sharing her extensive vinyl collection, which was so much fun. It rained a couple of the days that we were there, but the cottage has games, puzzles and books to enjoy. I really enjoyed reading Jane Austen's Mansfied Park.
The kitchen had everything we needed and more.
This was a wonderfully relaxing vacation. If you're considering booking this property do it, don't wait. We are already hoping to come back. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us Cathryn.

I thought this was a great little place. The house itself was comfortable and clean and the surrounding land was beautiful. The little beach was a perfect place for our three year old to swim and play, which we did just about every day, and there were plenty of restaurants and grocery stores in driving distance. Our host made herself accessible and checked in occasionally, but otherwise left us to our own devices, and that was perfect for us.
This is definitely a woodsy, rustic place. There are bugs and tadpoles and a little family of ducks that followed us from the lake almost all the way home one day. We loved our stay.

Ideal setting and way to unplug
This cottage was exactly what I was hoping for, a way for the whole family to unplug. The cottage was extremely well equipt from the kitchen to the boat house. The property was private and sandy beach faces the afternoon sun. I felt extremely safe with my children playing in the water because it was crystal clear and easy to see them, and gradual entry. We had so much fun as a family of four spending time here. My husband woke early fishing on pond or traveling near by to fish on the Cape Cod Canal. We found a market down the street, and went to Scusset beach once but honestly enjoyed the property so much that in ten days we truly never really left. I will share that there is a ladder to a loft space that made us a bit nervous, but our children were very good at listening and stay away from the ladder. The loft is such a cute space for a bit older children to explore, maybe 6-7. It has books and toys, and could be another sleeping space. Lastly, we found this property really cooled off each night due to the pond breeze and we always slept comfortable.

Magical rustic cabin
Cove cottage is a gem! We felt like we were in the peaceful mountains of New Hampshire or Maine but we’re just in the next town over. We had so much fun in the clean sandy pond. The cabin was adorable and the entire place was very private. Thanks so much Cathryn for a great week!

All-Around Lovely Holiday
Cove Cottage is a beautiful, rustic cottage in a lake side setting. The gardens surrounding the cottage are lovely and cared for as is the interior of the cottage. The well-kept path to the private lakeside beach winds through the shoreline forest and arrives at a beautiful sandy beach with a dock. The beach area is under a canopy of trees, so that it is possible to enjoy the water without being in direct sun. We had fun swimming, canoeing and kayaking each day. Cooking meals in the well stocked kitchen was enjoyable, and eating on the back porch was delightful. Cathryn and her family have taken great care in restoring this wonderful cottage and made our trip truly memorable. We highly recommend Cove Cottage.

Rest and relaxation
We stayed here during the 4th of July week and we have to say we had such a great week! The cabin in the woods was so secluded but yet close to everything that you would want to do! The beach was perfect in size and very beautiful. Had the best vacation was very quiet and peaceful!

Peaceful serene retreat
We stayed here as a couple with a dog for four days. The cottage is beautifully decorated and outfitted with everything you need for a relaxing long weekend. We cooked, read and swam on the private (!) beach. There is a canoe to paddle in the lake as well. We felt that we were on our very own private island. The grounds are beautiful. We can't wait to be back.

Beautiful Property and Relaxing Stay
My family of three, including a 5 year old, loved being at Cove Cottage and relaxing in the cottage and by the pond. The cottage has everything we needed and nothing that we really didn't need (wifi/TV). We spent most of our time on the property, which was very private - reading, cooking, listening to music, swimming and kayaking. There's a great selection of books, plenty of board games, a diverse collection of vinyl records (up to the 80's), some fun musical instruments, outdoor toys/equipment, and a fairly stocked kitchen. The view of garden was great - we loved watching the butterflies. The outdoor 'rainfall' shower and indoor tub were great. We really had little need or desire to 'explore' off the property aside from getting a bite to eat (The Seafood Shanty has the best chowder and meatiest lobster roll) and checking just a few touristy spots toward the end of our stay. The pond was clear, relatively warm and shallow near the shore, which was perfect for us. We swam daily and seemed to be the only folks on the pond (end of August) during the weekdays. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and hope to stay there again in the future. Thank you, Cathryn for sharing your magical property!

Our weeks stay at this amazing retreat was just what the doctor ordered. Upon my arrival I was met by the owners for a tour of the grounds which are lovely and private. They had a bottle of wine chilling and even some treats for the pups! The house is warm and comforting and I absolutely love the claw foot bathtub. I love to cook and the kitchen was well equipped with all the tools you need to make a wonderful meal. Our two dogs loved swimming and sunning themselves on the sandy beach and the short walk to the water brings you back in time to being a kid and walking barefoot on the soft mossy ground. The beach area is sandy and the water clear. Most of the day time was spent simply relaxing on the beach reading and people watching. At night the record player and the large library or albums was a great source of entertainment. I didn’t miss the television at all! If you want to unplug and forget about the worries of the world this is your place.

A slice of heaven!
Cove Cottage was everything we had hoped for and more! The hosts were wonderful, very welcoming, accommodating and helpful. The Cottage itself is just perfect! Very well appointed and incredibly comfortable. The path to the pond is magical and the stone boat house, magnificent! The water temperature was amazing. Warmer on over cast days than the air. The beach has enough sun and shade which makes it very comfortable to spend ample time down there. The kayaks and the canoe are great to explore this beautiful pond. The hot/cold outdoor shower had great pressure and was such a yummy way to clean up. Good for just rinsing your feet before coming into the beautiful cottage as well.
The record collection is such fun. Cooking, listening to music, and the wonderful lighting in the cottage makes for a very pleasant evening after sunset.
We loved it. Thank you so much for sharing this gem with us.

perfect to get away from it all
My family & I booked our stay for only 4 days, hesitant that the "rustic cabin in the woods" may leave us wanting "more"..
the lack of telephone line, & limited cell phone connecting, no wifi, no tv, no heat, no ac....didn't end up being an issue!
Cathryn was wonderful to work with, prompt in response time (overall)
she allowed us to bring our dog with us to this lovely property. Our children, aged 3 &5 enjoyed themselves immensely, trolling for bugs, playing music with the house instrument collection, finding quiet time in the loft (kids only) , swimming & kayaking. The pond is pristine, quiet & private, with many fish observed from their private dock. my husband & I enjoyed the record collection, and open fireplace, we found most every thing we needed to cook in every meal .
The claw tub was loved by the kids & along with roomy new outdoor shower, a seemingly endless supply of hot water.
we were looking for a place to go to celebrate the 4th of july, where fireworks wouldn't scare our little one & the Cove Cottage delivered!
Neighbors across the pond & further away set off small showings, just enough to cheer for but not enough to intimidate! we loved our stay & look forward to planning a longer trip next time!

The best vacation yet!
To say that we were impressed with Cove Cottage is an understatement! It was everything we have ever dreamed about and provided the most relaxing vacation we've ever had. There isn't one bad thing I could possibly say about the place. We will definitely be coming back year after year!

Fabulous setting for a relaxing vacation
This was our family's second vacation at Cove Cottage. The beautiful setting, nestled in forest, down a hill and beside the water, provides a perfect backdrop for relaxation. We enjoyed our time hanging out by the lake, swimming in the warm water of Long Pond, kayaking and canoeing as well as watching for fish. My son particularly enjoyed fishing off the roof of the quaint boathouse. We loved the outdoor shower, spinning records, and playing outdoors and in with the sports equipment and many board games available. Big fires in the great room were a super finish to our days and warmed us as we ate food we could prepare from the well-appointed kitchen. The treats left for us by the hosts were a particularly thoughtful and appreciated touch! Would love to return in the future!

A perfectly rustic cottage, that seamlessly blends all the comforts of home.
We were so happy with our stay. The moment we pulled down the driveway, and spotted the pristine cottage, with flower garden and outdoor shower, we were hooked. Then , we entered the great room! Dominated by a nearly walk in fireplace, with bead board ceilings, fall in comfortable chirs ; it was perfect. Both beds are comfy, bed linens, and towels are plentiful, and of good quality. Heaps of extra blankets for our one chilly night.
You can grill on gas, or for the purist , charcoal. The grounds are stunning, historically interesting, and the beach accoutrements are all there. We had a wonderful stay , and would be hard pressed to find a bad word to say about the cottage . Thank you Cathryn, for being so attentive. We'll be back.

Very special cottage in the woods
Our family loved staying in this quiet rustic retreat for a week this summer.
Nice comfortable beds, a big well appointed kitchen, outdoor seating, and a lovely walk
to a pristine lake. Away from it all but close enough for a day trip to the Cape's best
beaches. Lots to do in the area, but if you'd rather not - sitting by the lake
is just fine! No TV - instead - an amazing record collection to explore.
Highly recommended. We'll be back!

A true, authentic, “cabin in the woods with a view” experience.
Our priorities were simple: please welcome our two dogs, have private access to water, peace and quiet. Cove Cottage gave us everything we asked for and so much more! If you love the outdoors, pristine water, adventure, and tranquility, this is the place for you. Upon our arrival we were greeted by our wonderful host, Cathryn, who provided us with a tour of the grounds and a wonderful welcome gift of red wine. The cottage is even bigger than we imagined from the pictures. The living area and kitchen are a large open space, something we particularly appreciated, as we love to cook big meals, sip wine, listen to music, and keep company while the chef (my wife) is hard at work. It gave us access to the incredible record player, as well as the fireplace, and allowed us to keep an eye on the dogs. The kitchen is exactly what anyone who loves to cook would look for; it is spacious, with wide counter space, clean, and has a dishwasher! It is stocked with anything you would need to make a feast. The beautiful dining table conveniently separates the living space and kitchen. We had brief doubts about the claw-foot tub in the bathroom not having a shower, however once we discovered how amazing the outdoor shower was, all doubts went right out the window! You can tell the owners took extra care to make the outdoor shower a place to truly enjoy. The floors were lined with pebbles and tiles (no hint of creepy metal drains), there’s a rainfall-style shower-head, and the best part: no ceiling, just the forest canopy all around you! The additional bedroom has huge screened windows all around the bed, providing that fresh forest nighttime air, and screen door opens up right onto the deck. Sticklers for details, we loved that the sun remained on the deck from morning until it set on the water at night. Other reviews mention the clarity of the pond. All I can say is, we sat on the dock every morning with our coffees, dangling our legs in the water, and could see the little fish swimming between our feet. We swam every day, morning and night. During the 2-minute walk from the deck to the water, you can truly feel the vibes of the girl scout camp that used to be, the fun and adventures the campers must have had playing along that path. The boathouse, itself, is definitely the most attractive on the whole pond. We proudly received many compliments during our week there. Our experience in Cove Cottage was divine and we eagerly look forward to our return to this amazing place.

Cove Cottage is the perfect peaceful getaway
I loved Cove Cottage! It's set back in the woods, secluded and completely private. There is a little path through the woods in the backyard that leads to Long Pond, where you have your own little private beach and canoes and kayaks to use. The record collection was such a hit, so many great classic rock albums from the 70's. The owners even left a bottle of wine and a box of chocolate as a gift, and also left plenty of firewood and newspaper for the fireplace. We loved the upstairs loft too, so cute!
It's definitely a place for nature lovers, as the shower is outdoors and bugs can come around at night. There's also no TV or internet, so if you're looking to get away from it all and relax in nature, cove cottage is the perfect place! We loved it!

Amazing Experience!
Just off rt 3 down a narrow dirt road you will find the entrance to Cove Cottage. The excitement builds as you drive down the driveway to a large rustic cottage once used by the scout camp. Nicely appointed and very charming you will immediately feel a sense of calm come over you. One of the owners will meet you and welcome you and show you about the property. Walking down the path to the lake is like taking a step back in time, reminiscent of a simpler life, the way things used to be.. When you reach the private sandy beach next to the boat house you will know for sure you have just reached a very special piece of property almost designed for you to unwind from todays hustle and bustle....Thanks for sharing your families vacation home! Will be back for sure!

We really enjoyed the spectaculair environment; the spacious plot near the lake, the turtles and other wildlife. The house is really authentic (but with washing machine and dishwasher) , made of wood, spacious (in our view), the lay-out of the building is a bit surprising. There's a wonderful outdoor shower.

Delightful
We were delighted with our stay at the Cove Cottage on Long Pond. The cottage is super kid-friendly, with a neat little attic space for them, as well as a host of games, trails, and water adventures to explore. With or without kids, you will enjoy the solitude, gorgeous views, simplicity, and New England charm of this place. We arrived for a warm, Indian summer long weekend, but honestly, I'd kill to come back in either November or May as well.
My favorite aspect of this cottage that may not come through clearly in the listing is how private/quiet this space is. It's a little tricky to find but the benefit is that you literally feel like you are in this rustic, remote, far away place. As far as I could tell, all the other cottages belong to the owners, and none are actively being used or rented, so it's more like renting an entire campground than cottage.
Cottage is perfectly appointed, and while nothing is too modern, it all works together and the kitchen is well stocked with gear for cooking small or elaborate, large, multi-course dinners.

A slice of heaven
Our visit to Cove Cottage made our summer. An idyllic spot secluded from the world yet with easy access to world-class golf courses, fabulous restaurants, and the ferry to Provincetown – not that you’ll want to leave once you arrive! Rustic, yet comfortable, you can feel the history of the property as a girl scout camp. Strolls through the extensive acreage lead you past old cabins, where it is easy to imagine the excitement of their young occupants in the days gone by as they run down to the beautiful stone boat house. The beach is beautiful white sand and the water warm and crystal clear. It’s hard to imagine a more perfect spot to hide away with friends and family for a summer break and enjoy a glass of wine (or two) on the dock watching the sunset. We were sad to leave at the end of our stay and will be back for another visit without a doubt.
