About this house rental
Nestled in Black Hills, this lovely house for $153 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Private spot from other RVs, with an amazing view (this is not your normal RV park ;). We love to see pets join the vacation. If you are bringing more than 1 pet, please contact first before booking. The pet fee is for 1 pet. Beautiful view over hot brook canyon. King size master, bunk room with double and single beds. Sofa bed in living room for 2. Sleeps 7 total. Brand new deck just added, for the hot tub and nice place to sit and relax. Let us know if you would like the 4 person hot tub during your visit. Nice large bathroom and shower, fireplace, 39in popup tv with dish service, dinning table inside and outside under the 20ft awning. Lots of big windows to enjoy the canyon views throughout your entire stay. Ac, stove, frig, WiFi... All the comforts of home. Coffee pot is a combo Keurig / drip. Enjoy everything from beautiful sunrises to amazing sunsets. Rv is parked in a secluded area in the trees close to the cliff, but still easy to get to with a car or motorcycle and well hidden from the main house. Please remember this is a RV/Camping experience, the RV does have AC, but in the hot summer months we can not guarantee the RV will be as cool as your home. The nights typically drop down in the 50's/60s even in the summer, so with open windows, it usually is very comfortable sleeping. Non-Smoking in the RV. Fantastic !! I suppose that wade should invest in a couple new mattresses for the hide a bed and the bunk bed -- but the main bedroom and bed was wonderful. Some of the outside lights did not work, but we managed. The gray water filled up after taking only 4 showers, but we were leaving anyway that day.

It was a fantastic place to stay! Well appointed and very comfortable. The views were amazing and the outdoor space is perfect to hang out on all day. The only issue we had was the shower didnt have any water pressure so we resorted to wash cloths for bathing.

We had an amazing time! Waking up to the beautiful view of the canyon was our favorite part of our stay. The Sandpiper was perfect for the 2 of us. Very clean and the bed was sooo comfy! Sitting around the fire at night was very relaxing and the visit from the mule deer was such a nice surprise! Our dog enjoyed it as well. Thank you for an amazing time at your little slice of heaven!

We had an amazing and beautiful experience staying at the sandpiper. We were greeted with warm smiles and felt incredibly welcomed. Everything was taken care of and the owners are so responsive. The property has the most stunning views any time of day, from sunsrise to star filled skies. Absolutely, peaceful.

This was just as described, and very well needed.. the hot tub was great for both us and the kids. The hosts were great and readily available for anything needed. Wade and Patricia were awesome. I would love to come back and maybe try another spot and highly recommend this site. The only caution I would say is if you have a toddler there is a cliff. We roped it off and it was fine 😊

This property was incredible! The views and experiences were outstanding. I was impressed as the hosts had everything stocked that you could possibly need. The hot tub was perfect under the nighttime stars! Overall, 10 stars! I’ll definitely be back!

Wade and Patricia are wonderful hosts! The camper had everything you could wish for. The solitude and view were exactly what was needed. We were close to all the major attractions and enjoyed the fact we could go and do our tourist things and the come back to the tranquility.

We live north of Hot Springs in Spearfish and we have been looking for a very specific kind of place for us to vacation close to home in the black hills. We have tried all the lakes and all the other towns. We finally came across this rental and it is perfect for our family. All the amenities outside the camper were amazing.
We appreciate being able to take our dog so she can just be herself and run around.
We highly recommend and will hopefully be back.
Our kids already want to go badk.

Beautiful views!
The Sandpiper was perfect for my husband, dog, and I. The views were just out of this world! If you are afraid of heights or have a dog that may wander- this place may not be for you since the cliff is VERY high. The camper was clean and had all utensils you could need. We grilled each night and loved every minute of it!

We've stayed at Evans Cliff three times now. This was the first time in the Sandpiper. We've always been very happy with the cleanliness, available linens/kitchen supplies and ease of access. The hosts are so polite and kind. They are right there if you need them, but out of sight if you want privacy.
It's a great place to shut off and relax, but it's also not far from attractions and dining if you prefer to be out and about during the day. Thanks again!

Happy campers
My wife and I spent 4 nights at Sandpiper in late May – early June. Overall, we were very happy with the accommodations – an authentic South Dakota adventure! Despite the many switchbacks and gravel roads, the location was easy to find, the camper was clean and spacious, (mostly) had everything we needed, and the view from the deck was spectacular. The camper is within a hundred feet or so from the owners’ house and another camper, but still felt very private and quiet.
Some things that we liked:
Amazon Fire Stick (Prime, Netflix and other streaming platforms available to watch with a subscription)
The master bedroom mattress was very comfortable
The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and dinnerware
Enough hot water for 2 consecutive quick showers
Full propane tank for the gas grill outside
Some things that we wish were better:
As advertised, the Wi-Fi is slow and unreliable and there is no phone reception (none until descending into town – about 10-minute drive from the camper)
The mattresses in the second bedroom were very thin and provided little cushioning for adults (might still support smaller kids)
No instructions on operating the A/Cs, thermostat and hallway control panel (may not be an issue for more tech-savvy campers and those with more RV / camper experience)
Jacuzzi had several broken jets (the owners are working to replace those)
No check-out instructions

The spot is as beautiful as the pictures and felt very private. Hot tub was great, you do need to be a bit physically fit to get into it though, it's a bit of a climb. :) Just be careful and you'll be fine.
We only had WIFI twice during the week, for about a half hour each time. Wifi in the whole region is spotty so be aware of that if you really need Wifi on vacation But there are multiple cafes in town that have wifi, most of the time, LOL so we did that when we needed it.
Grill was awesome, King bed was awesome. The air is so fresh and smells so wonderful on this property! We are hoping to come stay again!

Our family of six enjoyed our stay in the Sandpiper! Wade and Patricia thought of every detail. We loved the outdoor dining with the grill and being able to see so many stars at night. This was our first time staying in an RV and we loved the experience. And the town of Hot Springs was charming. Definitely would stay there again whenever we make it back out to South Dakota!

If you don't mind RV life, this hidden gem is worth it. Communication was great, amenities were as described, and the setting was fantastic. If you're looking for some peace and quiet—and to avoid motels—this a great option.
