Put on your skis and get ready to hit the slopes with family or friends at this mountain-view condo. You'll be just a short walk to the heart of the Village at Northstar, where you can hop on the lifts to take you right up the mountain.
While you'll likely spend much of your time on the slopes during peak ski season, the Northstar Property Owners Association is less than a mile away. Enjoy access to the Northstar recreation center amenities, which include tennis courts, basketball courts, a fitness center, a sauna, a hot tub, a seasonal lap pool, and an open grill area next to a beautiful creek surrounded by pine, fir, and aspen trees. (Site rentals include the use of three picnic tables and up to two gas BBQ grills with grilling utensils.) There is a $10 daily fee per person for use of the facilities. During the warmer months, the NPOA has additional activities as well, and you'll be just 12 miles from the northern shore of Lake Tahoe for fishing, boating, swimming, and lakeside picnicking.
Bright, pleasant, and decorated with rustic accents, this contemporary condo offers ski-lodge sensibilities and plenty of modern conveniences. The cozy living room has comfortable furnishings where you can gather and relax. Adjacent to this, there's a dining table and a nearby breakfast bar where you can enjoy morning coffee, a few board games, or a hot, home-cooked meal prepared in the full kitchen. The bright and efficient kitchen is packed with essential accessories and a dishwasher to help you keep those dirty dishes in check during your stay.
For your essentials, WiFi is provided, as well as a shared, coin-operated washer/dryer on the second floor, so feel free to leave those bulky suitcases at home!

I personally, loved the layout. The master bedroom is located on the main floor and the bedroom and loft are located upstairs. The home worked out for our group of 5.

Awesome place, easy check-in, super comfortable
6.0 / 10.0
Ski in and out location was nice but the unit could have used more amenities like extra pillows, towels and toilet paper plus some coffee and salt and pepper. The unit hasn’t been updated (furniture, etc) but has the basics you need to sleep comfortably.

We love the convenience of these condos. The WiFi was very reliable, we loved the fireplace and the views from the condo.

All went smoothly except for minor confusion about the parking permits. Cozy apartment, wonderful to ski in, ski out
4.0 / 10.0
We found the place pretty easily and got in without any problems. However, my biggest issue was even though I followed the directions on how to register for parking (even received a confirmation email stating no further action was needed from me) I was issued an $80 parking picket for not having a permit displayed on my vehicle. They was never one sided to me. I spoke with Northstar and they said the owners have been instructed to have people check in and pick up a permit to display but this was never communicated to us. Vacasa has not responded to my request to have this fixed and neither has Northstar. So at this point I’m stuck with an $80 ticket when all of this could have been avoided. There were a few other little things like not being able to get the TV to work and the Condo itself being outdated. Probably would stay here again if they don’t fix the ticket issue.

Property was in an ideal location. Property manager would responsive when we had issues with new parking permit system.

Great location walking distance to the village. Older non updated property but serves basic needs. We wished there had been more blankets and bedding for the loft bedroom upstairs (it came with only a single fitted sheet and one thin green blanket, we were glad we had an extra blanket in our car that we could use). We appreciated the flexible pet policy and that dogs were allowed, this was one of the big reasons that we booked this property.

This is a hard review to write... my wife and I have stayed at dozens of VRBO vacation units, and the lowest rating we've given up to this point is a 4, so were not hard to please. First the good: The Ski Trails condos are a great location if you want true ski in / ski out location without being right in the village. The condos are located amongst the trees with great views and a quiet location while still being a short walk to the village and everything it has to offer. Our unit was clean, well stocked with just about everything we needed. For the not-so-good, there's a long list and I'll keep this as concise as possible. Upon our arrival, the entry code we were given for the keyless entry pad did not work. We tried the code many, many times and at different speeds in case it was sensitive to how fast the buttons were pushed. After these attempts, we finally called their customer service line and was connected to a person that was not local and appeared to be reading from a script when answering our question / comments. They in turn had to call a local person who was going to call me and provide assistance, which took several more minutes and happened after we were finally able to gain access. That guy admitted that the new keyless entry locks were temperamental and not consistent. The next day after returning from skiing, we were met by a guy coming out of our rental unit and introduced himself as a plumber there to fix the fireplace which apparently wasn't working. We didn't care so much that the fireplace wasn't working and he couldn't fix it on that visit, but that the property manager Vacasa sent a plumber there without notifying us in advance. We left that morning with our computers, wife's purse, and other valuables left out in the open which we wouldn't have done had we known someone was coming in. Not cool to say the least. That evening, my wife took a shower and said the water pressure was low and the temp was hard to adjust, and during my shower, the shower valve handle came off in my hand! We called Vacasa customer service and was told they would be sending a local to resolve the problem, which they never did. The following day, we again had problems with the entry lock, and it took another 25+ minutes to get the code to work during which we called customer service and requested someone come out, which did happen and that issue was successfully resolved by reprogramming. More issues and no more words allowed, beware

This condo is in a great location. The local property manager contact was very kind and responsive. There were several issues but since we weren’t staying long and we were mostly there for the location it all worked out. In the future we will stay at another condo nearby. Below were our main issues:
- The listing had not been updated and the fifth advertised bed was not there (Dan brought an air mattress). We were a party of five so that was an important requirement for us.
- the handle on the bathtub was broken (Dan did a quick fix so we could shower for the weekend)
- the oven only worked part time but sometimes turned off with an f-3 error and not all the top burners worked
- the gas fireplace didn’t work thought that is just a nice to have, we were happy that the heat worked.
- the parking pass and hot tub pass was not available the first day but Dan brought them the second day
- the internet and cable did not work which was important for my husband to do some work,
In the end it was all fine but the amenities were not as advertised. I asked for a partial refund because for the price we are paying after all the fees etc, we hope to receive the items that are advertised. Vacasa and Dan said they would look into refunding something but I haven’t heard back.
Our friends stayed in a condo nearby which was much nicer and the amenities were available as advertised so in the future we would likely look at one of the other condos.

The decor in 4110 Ski Trails is charming and personal. Parking is ample and the location right on the slopes can't be beat! The NPOA recreation center is a splendid part of this rental -- Olympic-sized pool, hot tub, gym, and game room. The condo was spotless when we arrived and the new carpeting fit in with the decor and character. 5/5 would recommend.

Low end Condo
This is a low end condo with very poor amenities. The kitchen had very few utensils pot/pans and amenities. Recommend you bring everything you think you need...condiments, utensils, etc... All the kitchen appliances are cheap (coffee maker, dishwasher, etc..). We had to work with a broken dishwasher to load dishes which made it frustrating every time we wanted to put dishes in the dishwasher. All the beds were hard (cheap mattresses). But the most frustrating bed was the Futon couch in the main room. The listing states "...sleeps 6..." but the futon is like sleeping on the ground and the bedding is minimal to accommodate some one who sleeps on the futon. We rent every winter and some summers in NorthStar and this was by far the worst experience we have had with a condo.

We just came back from a 5 night stay at this place in early August and were really hoping to be happy with our choice. We weren’t at all. First warning is to look at the pictures very carefully. What you will see is a small dark condo that has not been updated since probably the 50’s including the furniture and beds which were very shoddy and uncomfortable. The second warning is some of the furniture you see is simply not there - the futon that is supposed to be in the loft is actually in the living room instead of the comfy couch you see. It does seem that an appliance and electrical upgrade took place in the 90’s, leaving a huge fire hazard where the all the electronics are plugged in and a cable remote that should be in a museum. The condo is very dark drab and stuffy; the only thing that saved us was a huge noisy fan that we had to carry from room to room. As previously mentioned, the bedding and most of the kitchen utensils looked like they were bought at a thrift store about the same time as the 90’s upgrades.
We did get a laugh when we saw a sign to remove our shoes before stepping on some really old and dirty carpet. We did comply but kept our socks on to avoid catching anything. While I’m at it there were multiple lights that didn’t work, trying to turn off the shower is a horrifying experience - we kept expecting the faucet to break each time we yanked it with all our might. Sleeping on the futon in the living room was a nightmare given there wasn’t complete bedding for it and all the light and noise ion that area.
There were a couple of good things I must say. Location was about a 15 minute walk of the village, check-in and check out was quick and efficient and there was lots of parking given it was in the summer. Sadly, that’s all the good I could come up with. In conclusion, we now realize we could have stayed in a much nicer place in the same area for a lot less then we ended up paying for this outdated, shoddy dump.

Great Location
Perfect spot nestled between the Village and the lifts. Wish the property manager would have answered emails with some questions but not a huge deal. Listing showed a picture of a cot in the loft area but that was gone. So essentially 1 queen and 2 twins upstairs. Sheets could have gone for a wash as we noticed a few stains. As per other reviewer's warnings, we were prepared with our own cookware to prepare meals but pots/pans/etc have since been provided. Would stay again.

The carpets had dog urine everywhere. The fireplace is not safely secured and is falling out of the ceiling.

read the reviews
Thank you all for the reviews. I always read them however rarely post. However I was in a "desparate" situtaion to find a place and took this condo as a last effort. The bed is horrible - the kitchen is minimally stocked. the pots/pans looked like they came from an old bachelor pad. no true bowls to speak of if you make a pot of soup ! and only 2 "large" forks.....plan on doing dishes after every meal if there are 4 people there. Bring knives...and bring cleaning supplies - other then a small bottle of dish soap, nothing to clean the counters (germs!!!). the carpet smells......I wouldn't stay here. Hopefully the owners will read the reviews and take care of this place. Location is the only thing it has going for it.

Great condo right on the ski run
My family stayed here for several nights at the end of the ski season. The location was perfect...we could walk to the village for dinner and entertainment and night, and walk right onto the ski run in the morning. It was cozy and exactly what we were looking for. Since it was mid-week, the building was quiet-we were the only guests. Quite lovely.

Great location, but worn and expensive
The apartment is practically ski in/out and only 5-10 minute walk from the village.
The apartment is pretty basic and worn inside though, which was a shame particularly given the high price charged.
Please note , the upstairs bedroom gets very light in the morning as the blind doesn’t work well and it is very noisy due to the heating system up there .
All the beds are uncomfy and linen pretty old/dated
There are no kitchen supplies for cooking , ie stuff like oil, herbs, condiments etc so if you plan to cook, bring everything. There was washing up liquid, kitchen towels, sponge etc - ie that kind of stuff.
We had fun, but just flagging things people might expect a bit more of, from a place like this.

MTB trip
Great location, fair price, overall clean accommodation. Two suggestions: replace entry way and living room carpet with hard surface laminate and make one trip to Costco for some pots and pans (or else advise people to bring their own cookware or plan on going out for all meals)

Mostly functional with a few persistent issues
We enjoyed our second stay in this condo, this time taking more advantage of both the shuttle service to the village and the ski-in/ski-out access at the end of the lot. The kids enjoyed their upstairs room and staring out the windows at passing cars and shuttles.
We were hoping to raise our review from 3 to 4 stars this time around but the issues we mentioned in our last review were not addressed. These included:
• Three carpet nails exposed at the bathroom entrance.
• The above-stove fan being broken.
• The upstairs door being hard to open and close, which was exacerbated by the heating intake in the upstairs room.
Management posted this in response to our last review but were blatantly lying: "The upstairs door has been addressed, the carpet nails have been hammered back in, and the stove fan is in the process of being repaired."
Despite these issues, the property was functional and very convenient!

Mostly functional with a few issues
We really enjoy staying in these condos because we can drive down to the lowest set of condos, park for the day with our parking pass, and walk down the hill with our kids to the ski school. The convenience these condos affords is invaluable!
We really liked this particular condo because the kids room was upstairs for a change, allowing us to tuck them in at night and head downstairs for a quiet evening. That being said, there were a few issues that are worth highlighting.
There were three carpet nails exposed at the entrance to the bathroom.
The above-stove fan was broken.
The upstairs door was hard to shut, which was exacerbated by the fact that the heating intake is in the upstairs room.
