THE CONDO
The main living area is an open concept with the living room, dining room, and kitchen (newly remodeled). This area looks out onto the main lanai and beautiful garden area.
Our condo has 2 spacious bedroom suites. The master suite is upstairs and has a large bedroom with a king-sized bed. The bathroom has recently been remodeled. There is a dressing area with plenty of storage for all your things. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower with windows out to your private lanai.
The main level suite is spacious with 2 twin beds and a private bathroom.
You will also have access to gear for the beach or outdoors (boogie boards, chairs, coolers, beach towels, etc.) in the entry closet.
It’s easy to keep your clothes clean with the washer and dryer in the unit.
Poipu Sands has a large SWIMMING POOL, a TENNIS COURT, and BARBECUES on the property for your use.
PARKING is not assigned, but there are plenty of spaces.
As is the case with most buildings in Kauai, THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING. Windows are placed in strategic locations to catch the island breezes. Each room also has a ceiling fan.

Poipu Sands is in the ideal location on Kauai. First, it is on the south shore, which is the sunniest part of Kauai. Second, it is a part of Poipu Kai Resort, which is a collection of condos that are connected with beautiful gardens and walking paths. Third, this location is WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF 3 OF THE BEST BEACHES on Kauai: Shipwreck Beach, Brennecke’s Beach, and Poipu Beach. Fourth, there are 2 SHOPPING AREAS JUST DOWN THE ROAD with plenty of shops and restaurants. It’s also just a short walk to the Grand Hyatt, where the grounds are absolutely gorgeous, there are restaurants to enjoy, and a wonderful day spa to tempt you. Several GOLF COURSES are also in this area. From this location it is easy to reach the entire island in a short amount of time.

We enjoyed our stay. Just what we needed for our last weekend on the island. The place was clean and quiet. We loved being so close to Shipwrecks and the walking path.

Really liked how close this unit was to the walking path that goes to Shipwreck Beach. Close to restaurants, not too far out to the hwy for exploring the rest of the island. Everything in the unit was as described, plenty of fans to keep us comfortable during a July stay (I was a little concerned about that because we've never been in the summer). Would stay again.

Lovely place to stay. Very cool from breezes all around. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in besides home. Downstairs furniture needs some upgrading and the kitchen utensils are lacking All in all, a great place to stay

The property was very nice. The whole upstairs has been remodeled and was very pretty. The kitchen also has been remodeled. We enjoyed our stay a lot and would recommend to others. It was a little short on supplies. The only negative I would give is the carpet in the family room was slightly dirty. I would have liked the new flooring in the entry continue on into the family room. Other than that, everything was great.

This was a lovely place to stay. The location is perfect. The unit is very nice. It was clean and well equipped. The master bedroom sliders need to be replaced since opening and closing was difficult. Otherwise, no problems. Our regret is we can't return due to the increase in cost. Cost, with fees, have increased significantly more than double. I expect such an increase is attributable to VRBO, the owners, and misc. This is very disappointing.

We spent a week at Poipu Sands, our second stay at Neil and Connie’s condo. Like last year, the accommodations were fabulous. The home was clean,
Perfectly located near the Grand Hyatt, provided access to everything you’d need to swim, snorkel, or hang out on the beach. Neil and Connie are the perfect, laid back host as well.

We enjoyed our experience in Kauai. Always beautiful. Brandon, the property manager, was very helpful bringing ice and a cooler when the fridge broke. Nice condo but could use a deep clean. Loved the proximity to the Shipwrecks beach and other Kauai attractions.

Wonderfully equipped kitchen! Made all the difference to be able to cook meals of any sort. Salt,pepper and other spices left from previous guests very helpful. Plenty of beach supplies too(snorkels, coolers, sand toys, etc). Lovely home away from home. Stayed in July 2023. Very hot and humid weather and we made do without air conditioning. Lots of fans and ocean breeze. Great location for wonderful walks. Plenty of sea life to view in the evenings. I look back on this rental with nothing but good feelings. Thanks Connie and John for the memories.

This place was perfect for my wife and I with our two girls. It cooled down nicely at night with the windows open. All appliances were easy to use. Bunch of great pool and beach toys including snorkeling gear and boogie boards.
Check in and check out was very simple and did not require a lot of work on our behalf.
Short 5 minute walk to Shipwreck Beach and about 10-12 minute walk to Brenneckes/Poipu Beach.

This condo has everything we asked for and more. It might not have the idealistic views of ocean or the mountains but the area is still beautiful and close to Poipu beach and the surrounding area. Our condo is within walking distance to the beach and the size of the room is big enough for our family of 3 adults and 1 teenager. We had couple of issues and contacted the owners. We got the helpful responses back fairly fast and the issues were solved. Very pleased with the condo and the owners. Would come back and stay here again (if the price hasn’t gone up too drastically) and recommend strongly to anyone considering getting a vrbo condo in the Poipu vicinity.

The condo was clean and had everything we needed. Short walk to the beach. We could see part of the beach from the lanai. It is located in an area that makes it easy to get to pretty much anything. We had great food at Da Crack, Puka Dog, Dole Whip, shave ice at Uncles. I recommend doing a sunset cruise on Captain Andy's catamaran. The crew was great, food was outstanding so the price was worth it.

This condo was perfect for all our needs. The location is ideal, just a short walk from Shipwreck Beach, where my wife and I got married during our stay! The amenities were plentiful and generous to ensure we had everything to make our stay easy and enjoyable.
The only issues were negligible for us but need repair by the hosts at some point: the dining room light switch didn't work and there was some small dining room wall damage, presumably left by a previous guest.
We were absolutely comfortable staying here and would definitely wish to return to this condo if we're to visit Kauai again!

We would definitely stay at this place again. Pardon the random musings below, but I wanted to leave all the details. Located between the Grand Hyatt and Hilton Vacation Club but roughly 1/5th the price of the Hyatt. The grounds are well maintained and open to the ocean, unlike the Hilton Vacation Club. We enjoyed the pool under the stars and palm trees every night. We used the tennis courts. There’s numerous BBQs on the grounds that are available if you desire. This part of Poipu is better than the main drag as its quieter with less sun-burned dodo birds that don’t understand why you shouldn’t walk on the coral or take a selfie with a turtle :) The beach in front of the Hyatt is very rough, so watch your little ones. The beaches around the bend at Poipu are great for snorkelling. At this complex, Poipu Sands, you can walk on the grounds at the adjacent Grand Hyatt and sneak in a Luau performance without paying for it ;) This VRBO property has been mostly updated, and most guests will be impressed with the master bathroom. The main floor bathroom is updated but the shower in that bathroom is poorly lit and the facets are difficult to use. The kitchen is new, but some of the cupboard doors need hinges that allow them to open around appliances. Loved the giant electric griddle which we used for a batch of pancakes. We were not a fan of the shag carpet. Always feels like you are walking on other people’s sweat and skin flakes. The local artwork throughout the condo was a nice touch and made the place quite attractive. Some of the windows are stuck open, which is a consideration given our last comment below. The cleaning staff doesn’t seem to reset the bird crap, especially on the master bedroom balcony. Every balcony in Kauai has bird crap on it, and you can see people cleaning the railings all over the island, so don’t think this is limited to just this place. A couple of negatives that likely wouldn’t deter us in the future: the fan in the fridge freezer was worn out and we often had to turn off the fridge to get rid of the noise. The property owner offered to get someone in to look at it, but we just worked around it. Negative number 2: there’s a small sewage treatment facility 100 meters away, adjacent to the parking lot. You often gets wafts of farts if you leave the front door open for the breeze. The nearest building at Grand Hyatt often gets a whiff as well. It all depends on the direction of the wind.

Property is as advertised. Large living room, great deck areas with plenty of seating. Lower bedroom was spacious and main floor bath was great for the kids.
Master bedroom (upper) was roomy with vaulted ceilings and a private deck. Master bath was excellent as well, and liked the louvered windows to the outside.
Location is outstanding, with walk/jog paths within easy access. Quick walk to Shipwreck beach, the Grand Hyatt/Tidepools and beautiful sunrises.
10/10 will book again.

Poipu Sand is private and right by the water. Love the trail along the beach. The condo is spacious and kept very clean inside. Connie and John responded quickly to all my inquiries. Overall a wonderful stay.

We are a family of 4 adults. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the condo and the fully equipped kitchen as we like to cook. The location is close to everything in Poipu and we had lots of fun playing Pickle Ball on the tennis court. Thanks for the Pickle Ball lines.

John and Connie's condo is a perfect getaway. We stayed with our two teen daughters who appreciated having their own twin bed and bathroom. The location is right next to the Grand Hyatt and walking distance to Shipwreck beach and is a perfect location to explore the whole island. The condo is well supplied and I can't think of a single thing we needed that wasn't already on hand. Next time we go to Kauai we will for sure try and stay at their condo again. A few points that I see others asking in the reviews:
- no A/C. We never felt the need for it. There's a lovely cross breeze and ceiling fans that keeps every room comfortable..
- the unit includes a few boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella plus a couple of coolers
- it's part of a nice complex with well kept grounds and maintained swimming pool.
Overall, an excellent spot that I'd recommend. .

The condo was just as described. The location was great and nearby to trails, several beaches and shopping. We were exceptionally surprised at the amount of beach items (chairs, boards, umbrellas, etc) the hosts provided. Coolers AND ice packs made day trips easy and fun. We contacted the hosts regarding a minor issue and they responded very quickly. Our only negative was that the lighting on the lani was too low to be able to eat or play cards after dark, but otherwise we loved our time at the condo.

John & Connie's condo was well maintained, spacious, nicely decorated, and in a great location. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for making meals. We loved relaxing on the lanai each morning, and listening to the surf in the distance each night. John and Connie were very responsive to any questions we had. We had a pleasant stay and would highly recommend their condo.
