House was very cozy and comfortable! More than enough room for our family of 5. Had a great time at the ski resort and enjoyed the foot of snow! Great private road to sled down!
Only "complaint" is the garbage was pack full when we got there and wasn't picked up, to no fault of the host. We let them know so hopefully will be cleaned out for the next guest.

We stayed at Moose Manor for an MLK ski weekend and the house was awesome. Plenty of room to spread out and everything was in order. Communication with Debbie was great. She was very responsive and could not have been nicer. My only comment is that if there is a chance of snow you will need chains or 4WD. There is one road in and one road out and it is steep and curvy. Gorgeous views once you get there!

We rented this house for family for the weekend of our daughter's wedding in August. We needed 5 bedrooms, which was the primary reason for selecting this home. Overall, we were disappointed, and I have waited to review this house intentionally to let some time pass . We were told by the owner that we could get into the house at noon (which was needed to complete preparations for the wedding). The management company called while we were on the way to Beech Mtn to inform us that we could not get in until 3. We had planned to get some things done for the wedding, drop stuff off, go grocery shopping, and then get ready for the dress rehearsal (which was scheduled for 4:30pm). We were not able to get any of this done. We ended up having alot of folks over to the house after the rehearsal to get those things done. The neighbors called the police (supposedly due to the noise). The cop showed up and heard no outside noise and left. There was also a wasp nest on the back deck and 2 people got stung. To say the least, we were not pleased with the entire situation. Unfortunately, we can not recommend this rental.

Moose Manor Fan
The weather was a welcome change from Columbia, SC. The first family groups that arrived enjoyed sitting on the back porch as they enjoyed the weather, the deer, catching up, and the mountain view. Going ahead with renting this house was a fantastic decision. It turned out to be a humid stay, so the hot wash list contains a dehumidifier for every bedroom in any mountain home stay since few of them have air conditioning. Some of us had ahard time falling asleep. My list would also contain a temperature probe for grilling. All in all, we enjoyed our mountain trip thanks to the Moose Manor. I had to make one phone call and I got excellent service. The vrbo messaging worked well too.

Great balcony with a nice view with swing ,which we loved! Deer were everywhere. Great neighborhood for walking. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms need updating and WiFi was intermittent.

Family Ski Trip
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this property. The first time was great! This time we were very disappointed in the cleanliness of this vacation rental. There were empty water bottles and trash under the beds, a man and womens underwear (disgusting!!!) under another bed, and very dusty. Also there was mildew on 2 of the shower curtains. We did contact the owner and she had the cleaning lady contact us who challenged my complaints. The owner I felt was dismissive of the complaint and passed the buck to her housekeeper. I did not think this was a professional way to handle the issue. We were charged a cleaning fee upfront for a dirty rental. The housekeeper offered to come clean again during our stay but how inconvenient that would have been for our family during our vacation. There were numerous other little issues but I will leave it at this . We should have been refunded our cleaning fee but that wasn’t offered

Be careful and take pictures
I did not instigate a negative review for this property. I have never wrote a negative review. My son got food poison and got extremely sick. He was nauseated and obviously threw up some getting on the wall in the bathroom. I tried to clean it up the best I could with NO cleaning supplies in the entire house no cleaning rags, cleaning spray, disinfectant spray, Clorox or not even a mop. I apologize for the mess. What happened was not malicious or intentional. I have no problem paying extra to take care of the situation. But being charged the maximum deposit and a clean up fee is unreasonable. The entire bathroom could have been painted cheaper. What is worse after taken my deposit she wrote a negative review about me without even reaching out to see what happened. Accused my group of having a party and trashing the entire property.
Her comments are inaccurate, dramatized, misleading, and irresponsible to assume what guest do at a rental property. Then post them in a negative review after taking my deposit is wrong. The house was no mess when I left. There was only four of us there 2 men that are over 60 years old and our 2 sons that don't drink. Nothing was broken and there was no party. Shame on her for making this statement. I was dissatisfied with the property but had no intentions to write a negative review. The house was not clean and in bad need of maintenance and upgrades. I advise to checkout the nearby amenities, restaurants and ski area. There is only one small store within a 30 minute drive and 3 or 4 restaurants that are overpriced. The mountain is steep and when ice or heavy fog settles the driving is very dangerous. There is nothing close or convenient about the location. I would have taken my son to an urgent care but the only one open was an hour away. I have rented vacation houses for years and never had a problem with an owner. This is not just about the deposit she took. It is the principle and lack of communication. The comments she made about me and my family was wrong. This is not the first deposit she has taken. Be careful to rent this property.

Ski Getaway
Overall the property worked well for our needs. It had plenty of space for our group and was well stocked with cooking items. We found trash and food in some rooms so it could use a better cleaning before our arrival. The coffee pot also didn't work so that was a bummer. But we loved the location, amenities, and price point, and size of the place! Would definitely consider Moose Manor again!

Perfect Winter Mini-Vaca!
This is someone's home. My home isn't the cleanest, but this house is very well kept! There were a couple of things that really didn't warrant calling anyone: the showers need to be draino-ed, but not a big deal to real people. There was plenty of room for two families of 4 with kids fro 14 to 4 and 4 adults. You have a view AND so close to the slopes and the village.
The deer! OMG...we had carrots aplenty, and they were here for it:)
I definitely recommend for families and family friends traveling together! :)

Fantastic House with Deer
My large family and I really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house with more than enough room for everyone. Each bedroom had a queen bed (the diagram is a little misleading). We saw deer every day, and loved sitting on the back deck. It was the first time we have all been together since December o0f 2019, so it was a great experience!

Loved the three floor layout for our group of adults and kids. It was perfect for the kids to have the basement to play pool and watch the and the adults to be upstairs. We saw many deer which the kids loved. Very clean and have everything we needed. The view from the back porch is to die for!

DIRTY...Keep looking!
After being in a car for over 6 hrs, we arrived to a dirty house... I wanted to just turn around and leave. We were a long distance from home, we didn't know if we could find somewhere else to stay or at what cost. We considered contacting the property manager but this is the same company that "supposedly" has the house ready when you get there. It was after hours so we made a decision that calling was probably a waste of time, even if we contacted someone then we'd have to wait for a cleaning person to come out (and we'd already seen their version of "clean"). I had plastic gloves and cleaning wipes in the car so my husband & I spent the next two hours cleaning what we had to touch and use. I didn't photograph everything but I do have some pics of dirty toilets, dirty fridge & freezer, kitchen sink nozzle with pink mold caked on it, disgusting mildewed and mold covered shower curtain in the master bath. The master bath also does not drain properly. We were able to clean and use the bathroom across the hall from the master. The light switches, tv remotes, door handles, etc. had not been cleaned. There is a layer of dust all over the house. This trip was supposed to be my husband, three of our friends, and I. I had to tell two of them not to come (we drove in on Thursday and everyone else was supposed to come in on Friday) because one of them has bad allergies and the other has a small child at home. I just didn't feel like it was healthy for either of them to be there. I didn't want to cook anything in that kitchen so we planned on making use of the grill. When we opened the garage to pull the grill out, we found a note on it from "management" not to use it that it was inoperable. We spent A Lot of Money on a long weekend vacation, we can't afford to just throw that kind of money away so we cleaned the best we could and tried to enjoy the time that we could but I've never been so disappointed, and disgusted, with a property rental. There is a pandemic, cleanliness should be a priority! I knew that I had to write an honest review so that other families don't have the same experience we did.

Great family retreat
This home had a great layout for many couples or families including grandparents and children. There was five individual bedrooms and four full bathrooms. Many rental properties say it sleeps a large number but only when you count pullout couches, etc. This home makes it possible to have privacy and even lets you control the heat in each bedroom separately. If I could have given it a 41/2 star review I would have. There was a few issues but they could be fixed easily. The shower head in shared bathroom on middle floor had a broken shower head and not really usable unless you want to be under a painful jet stream. My kids just used a different shower. The WiFi kept falling out. We recycled it several times and did eventually get it back. Not sure if weather related, mountain problem or what....we only cared because my daughter had some work she was trying to get done and wasn’t able to on time. Lastly, I have never stayed at a place were we had to get toilet paper. I am sure it was just an oversight but the upstairs bathroom was used by everyone so it ran out in one day and there was no extra rolls anywhere in the house. I would think that at least the common area bathroom should have an extra roll. Lastly for anyone in the future staying here the main roads are well plowed during a storm but residential roads are not and we ha to get chains for our cars. We were forewarned but they didn’t sell them in SC. Once you get up the mountain there are no chains for sale up there so buy them at the bottom so you don’t get stuck. 4 wheel drive vehicles do fine. We had to take ours down the mountain to get chains for the other vehicles.

Skyking Yearly Family Getaway
This house was exactly what we were looking for. Had the space and the view perfect for our taste. Other then a few foggy days, the weather was perfect. We experience all the seasons of the year during our stay. - Snow, wind, rain, cold, heat, fog - LOL. The house is very well furnished with anything you need for a home away from home. The property owner was very attentive and replied to all my emails very prompt. The gas fire place was a plus with the weather. The only negative issue was the internet service/wi-fi, we had a very hard time getting it to work for longer than an hour. Called the internet provider every day but it will only work @ 1 hour and it die again. Provider recommended that the ADSL internet (phone line) currently on the property be updated to digital/fiber service. Internet provider asked that we use only 1 out of the 7 TV's at a time and to turn off all our cell phone and tablets - Not happening. In the absence of technology we had to go old school, table games, UNO and pool table which was another plus. Other than that everything else was wonderful. NOTE: Bring carrots, and apples for the numerous Deer's that will visit the property daily.

Good review - in general
Property was great! Deer experience was awesome! Bonus room with the pool table ,TV, and lots of seating was a win for our six adults, our nine year old, and our fourteen year old. Two areas needing more thorough cleaning was the master bath and the refrigerator. The fire place quit during our first use, which we felt may have been due to high winds blowing the pilot light out. Overall, our experience was good and we will definitely consider renting again.

Deer friends, Five Stars and deer corn for all!
We loved our stay at Moose Manor! It had everything that we needed and the location was wonderful! It was a great location for hiking straight from the cabin and the family of deer that are right by there were so sweet. We bought some wild feed at Fred's and we fed them all week and by the end, they were eating out of our hands! It was such a calming experience and one my teenagers are still talking about!
The beds were comfortable the house was just as described. The kitchen had everything needed while we were there. The weather was beautiful all day and showers in the evenings. Temps around 70 for the high and in the upper 50s at night. We slept with the windows open and were cozy. Never missed having AC at all. Never had a mosquito bite while there. It was heaven walking outside without gnats or mosquitos hovering about!
We found the cabin to be clean. I saw other reviews that it looked like it needed a deep cleaning. But everything that you touch and use was clean. There are some types of things that are very difficult to dust such as artificial floral arrangements and wall hangings with beads and miniature fur trees in different high shelves. These things are difficult to dust and they do not even clean with a vacuum. Unless you just choose to not use this decor, there isn't really much you can do to make these things look "clean" for every guest.
So I can imagine that a clean freak would say that some things that were high up and that are difficult to dust seemed dusty. However, for a cabin of this size and with the amount of homey, cozy stuff in it, I think it was very clean.
I had teenagers and my parents and myself. So a wide variety of ages and we all equally enjoyed the cabin and felt as though we had ample room to spread out and have our own space.
If I had to suggest an improvement for a future purchase, it would be a smart TV. So many people are used to streaming tv at their convenience these days and I was surprised that none of the tvs were capable of letting me sign into our Netflix or Acorn tv accounts to watch tv. That being said, we didn't come on vacation to watch tv and I didn't really miss it. It's just a suggestion if you are thinking of something that would be a low cost, high impact purchase for the house.
We loved it and will probably request to stay here again!

Deerly loved it
Moose Manor was just what the doctor ordered for a quiet, cool vacation as the temperature started spiking back home. The house comes with 5 such beautifully appointed bedrooms that we were tempted to try a different one each night. The kitchen is roomy, amply supplied and everything worked great. The dining area is big enough for large groups, and the living room has sufficient and comfortable seating for most family get-togethers. The entertainment room with the pool table, large screen TV and ample game table is a great place for kids and kids-at-heart to hang out. The only thing missing on the mostly-covered deck is a table, but the relaxing swinging chair made up for that, especially on the one evening that we had rain but could still sit outside. All-in-all, the house is very nicely appointed and up to date.
The location is perfect for walking, very near the golf course and just up the road from a nice fishing pond. There is a nice view across to the next mountain ridge from the deck. And the highlight for us was the almost ridiculous abundance of deer to observe the entire time we were there. We even had a few lounging in the yard, seemingly unperturbed by our gawking. We were so jaded by the end, we were disappointed we didn't see any bears or moose. (Just kidding . . . we never tired of the deer.)
The owner was very attentive in responding to our few inquiries. We would definitely recommend Moose Manor to groups from 2 on up.

Beware and take pictures upon arrival!!
We spent July 4 weekend at Moose Manor. Upon arrival , it was difficult to get the key box to work. We had to call the property manager but by the time she called back we got it opened. We are very familiar with lock boxes, it was jammed.
We walked into the house and there was a horrible musty odor. There is no air conditioning so we opened the windows. It was an unusually hot weekend on the mountain so no AC was uncomfortable. But, at night it cooled off and they have ceiling fans. I will say some rooms were very hot and muggy.
The house was super dusty with huge cobwebs, and not as clean as I was expecting. There was Christmas decor all around gathering dust. There were too many Knick knack things scattered around, it was hard to find a place for our things. Not enough towels-only 2 in a bathroom, the bedspreads looked dirty.
We enjoyed our time with the family but we would not recommend staying at this house. There are much better places to rent. Our trip was planned last minute and all of the houses we wanted were booked.
We also rented the house next door from the same owner. The heavy curtain rod fell in the night we looked at it to see if we could rehang it but it had not been attached to a stud and it had pulled from the Sheetrock. So we laid it by the fireplace where it fell so all of the pieces would stay together and they would notice as soon as they came in to prepare for another renter.
We followed the check out instructions, we took trash to the town trash dump, We put dishes in the dishwasher, locked everything back up and left.
A few days after check out I got a message the owner is keeping my deposit! For these reasons..
1) not taking excessive trash. We did take the trash!! In my car 😏
2) food left in the fridge (we did leave some condiments but nothing big and cleaning out the fridge was not on check out instructions)
3) the curtain falling- not our fault, and it could have hurt someone. Major liability!
4) accused us of scratching her sofa. This was an absolute lie. We did not hurt the sofa, she sent a picture of a scratch but we had nothing to do with that!! We didn’t even use that room. We were outside the entire time. We paid a cleaning fee, we followed check out procedures AND she kept $300 dep!
From now on i will take pictures when i check into a house to protect myself! If you rent this house or her other property I encourage you to do the same. Live and learn.

Beautiful property and cozy, spacious home
Our group celebrated Thanksgiving here at the Moose and could not have asked for a better location. There was plenty of space for all of us to gather together and the game room was perfect for the kids to hang out in.
The kitchen was stocked very well and every room had exactly what we needed.
It was a great weekend and we hope to visit again.

Beautiful, well stocked and a very nice home away from home.
We really enjoyed the space this house affords. Each couple had their own bedroom and most had their own bathroom. The house was decorated very nicely and was very well stocked and maintained. We were able to accommodate 6 motorcycles and 2 trailers in one garage. The response was very quick and they were very good with information and expectations. The website is spot on. We all enjoyed our stay very much and felt it was the perfect choice for our stay.
