Get away from it all in this recently renovated house in the hills bordering Joshua Tree National Park. This relaxing retreat sits on 3 acres of land, with plenty of outdoor space and stunning panoramic views. It is ideally located just a few miles from Joshua Tree Village and the Park entrance.
The house is located on 3 acres of land at the foot of the Joshua Tree hills. It is newly renovated, modern with mid-century and rustic touches and beautiful concrete floors. It has a full kitchen and dining area, with most everything you could need for cooking.
There are 2 King Bedrooms, an extra queen bed (real bed, not a pullout couch) in the garage lounge. Oh... did I mention the garage lounge?
We converted the garage into a lounge/game room with a pool table and 55" flat screen TV, DVD player and Roku (Netflix, etc).
There is a large patio with several outdoor spaces including a covered lounge area with sofa and lounge chairs, a 6 person outdoor dining area with a propane bbq grill covered by a pergola, and an uncovered lounge area. Amazing views of the desert can be scene from every outdoor space. There is also a 6 person outdoor hot tub with panoramic views... perfect for unwinding after a day in the park.
Although we can accommodate 6 guests, the house is most comfortable for 2-4 guests, as there is only 1 full bathroom. The full bath has 2 showers in it - a stall shower and a tub with a shower, so it is ideal for couples and those that are comfortable with each other!

We had a great 5-night stay at Josh and Don’s lovely Joshua Tree home. Their home was comfortable (great mattresses) and felt very private. Lots of room to both spread out and have family together time. The outdoor spaces where we sat, ate, read books, stargazed, and listened to birdsong were spectacular! The view is panoramic and we watched the sunrises and sunsets. The entrance to Joshua Tree National Park is just a few minutes from the house. A 5 star plus property- hoping we can return soon!

JTNP was gorgeous and my kids (2&6) loved rock scrambling on the discovery trail.

The pictures don’t do it justice. The house is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The ability to divide sections off for different activities is fantastic. And the outside living space is DEVINE. The jacuzzi was hot, and the stargazing from it was magical. Beds were comfy, neighborhood quiet, kitchen well-supplied, lots of towels, everything worked and the documentation was clear. Josh was communicative and very responsive. We were sad to leave and hope to come back soon!

Everything we would need and more in the kitchen. Game room a fun and comfy place to hang out. Nice views and lovely outdoor spaces. Heaters took a while to warm up the house but it was cold and windy when we arrived. They eventually caught up. Pictures made it seem a little more wild and remote than it was, but it was still a private, quiet retreat while being easy to get to town and the national park. Very responsive host!

The Rockwood Hill House is a lovely stay in the high desert, with amazing views overlooking the Yucca Valley. Getting there was easy with detailed instructions.
The kitchen, dining, and living rooms are spacious and there was lots of outdoor space for eating and relaxing. The game room is a huge bonus! I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will certainly be back, maybe with friends!

We really enjoyed our stay on your property… just walking around the grounds alone and watching the wildlife that roam throigh was an experience in and of itself. Shooting stars from the hot tub… and the views of the city lights below.. What a nice experience in a clean friendly environment

Everything about our stay was wonderful! We met up with our graduate school daughter and her friend at a place none of us had been to prior. Josh and Don were amazing hosts from the welcome snacks to providing everything you could possibly need during your stay. Their beautiful home is so close to the west entrance of the park where after enjoying lazy mornings having coffee together and maybe throwing in a game of pool we would pack a lunch and head into the park. Joshua Tree park is surreal and worth visiting and Josh and Don’s house is a perfect homebase to come back to every afternoon/night. We loved spending time in the hot tub at night watching the stars and the distant lights, playing trivia and pool in the game room which was a perfect gathering place when we weren’t out exploring.

We stayed for three days while visiting Joshua Tree National Park and surrounding area. The house was so convenient to the entrance to the NP. The sunrise each morning was stunning. The house is so cute and had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. I highly recommend this house for your JT vacation!!

Rockwood Hill House was the perfect launching pad for our family adventures. The home was impeccably clean, tastefully decorated and well stocked with bathroom and kitchen supplies. Our first morning we saw one of the most stunning sunrises of our life. It’s also a fun house to spend time with your teenage and young adult children. We would definitely stay here again. Cheers!

My small family enjoyed the relaxing setting of this adorable home. The views are endless, the decor is a fun play on vintage features and the game room was a wonderful bonus! The park is a short drive and the downtown area is even closer. The hosts are very responsive and friendly.

Our family took a quick trip to LA to visit my son then to Joshua Tree with him for the weekend. The house was absolutely perfect! Beautiful, clean, and bedding & mattresses were amazing! We were close to entrance of Joshua Tree and town yet had plenty of privacy. Josh was great and so responsive! Definitely would stay again!

We spent 2 nights in this house and wished we had a few more. If you think the pictures look good, it's even more impressive in person. It was 100 degrees out when we came and were very comfortable. There is always a spot with shade where you can sit and there is AC in every room inside. We've had unforgettable memories in our few days at Joshua Tree and this house is a big part of it.

Our 1st time in JT, and this house set us up for success. This House on the Hill had it all. It was clean, spacious, quiet, and just perfect for us. From sunrise to sunset, we didn’t want to leave. We saw lots of wildlife (coyotes, roadrunners, ravens, hares, & more) , enjoyed our nights grilling out and watching the stars in the hot tub. Kitchen had everything we needed, A/C worked perfectly. Very Close to town and West Park Entrance. We can’t wait to come back!

Space, fresh air and gorgeous home
What a wonderful family vacation we had. This house is so clean and well appointed, everything from extra blankets, to towels, to pots and pans, glasses. Everything is exactly as it is listed, from the clean and well maintained hot tub, to the working fireplace. We had an amazingly wonderful time. Short easy drive into the park, and perfect home base to relax, spread out, and enjoy our time. We can not wait to return. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Comfortable and convenient near JTNP
Our family enjoyed our stay at the Rockbridge house, it was comfortable, nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The view from the outdoor area is breathtaking. We especially enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and the game room. It was easy to access JTNP from the west entrance. Josh was very responsive and gave us recommendations on hikes.

Stargazing Delight
Perfect house for our first family location with an infant. Very cozy, warm and beautifully decorated. We spent most our days in the park but it was so nice to come back to the house and relax in the jacuzzi or sit outside and take in the stunning views. Josh was a wonderful host and excellent with communication.

Dessert Oasis
Great spot on the edge of Joshua Tree. We loved the dessert plants and animals. We heard the coyote and saw jackrabbits, Gambles Quail and road runners. The house is quiet and well equipped.

Had an incredible time
We loved our stay at this property so much we're already planning another trip out! The game room is the star of the home and was a great place for us to spend our days unwinding when we weren't spending time in Joshua Tree National Forest.

Wow! It was so much more than we expected! The location is very private and quite :) Made it very peaceful. It was very comfortable and we really felt like we were at home. The best part was the view!!! Amazing!!! I totally recommend this place and we we will definitely be back for another stay! Josh was so kind and very responsive! He was kind enough to take some time away from his Saturday morning to assist us with some questions :) Hope you all consider to stay at this beautiful home! I promise no regrets!!!

Absolutely Perfect!!
The house was absolutely perfect in every way!! Super clean, great location, amazing views and fully stocked. The jacuzzi and outdoor seating areas were extremely relaxing and the games were lots of fun (billiards, board games and cornhole). Owners even left suggestions for local restaurants, which was super helpful. We had such a great stay and we will definitely be back. Thank you!!

Perfect house for a Joshua Tree visit
This house has it all - well equipped, uniquely furnished, lots of space to relax, both indoors and out, and a great location just 15 minutes or so from the National Park entrance. Everything runs smoothly and the owners have the right approach to communication without being imposing. We feel lucky to have rented this house for a week in Joshua Tree. We enjoyed coming back to relax after a day of touring/hiking. The hot tub is huge and heated to the right temperature - an enjoyable post-touring activity. The views are amazing.

Amazing place
Fantastic accommodation. Comfortable, clean, surrounded by natural beauty. Enjoyed stargazing in the tub, watching the sunrise on the porch, playing pool in the rec room and guitar by the fire. Josh and Don are terrific hosts. Highly recommend.

Better than advertised!
Great stay, great location, great place! The game room is basically a huge 3rd bedroom - my 9 year old son was overjoyed since it's about 3x bigger than his room at home. There's also multiple places to hangout outside, so the place feels way bigger than the square footage listed. The Joshua Tree park entrance is just about 10 minutes away.. was great to get up in the morning and into the park before lines form or areas got busy. Finally.. the Internet capably handled 2 kids zooming for school + 1 parent working.. so a great place to get away from quarantine for awhile.

Beautiful, peaceful getaway
This place was just as it looks in the photos - beautifully decorated, comfortable and in a quiet, peaceful location with beautiful views. Our family thoroughly enjoyed playing pool, corn hole, and all of the available board games like Scrabble. Joshua Tree National Park is very close and there are also several nearby restaurants that offered takeout food. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!
