About this house rental
Whether you’re an adventurous traveler or one who likes nothing better than to unwind with a few good books during your well-earned vacation, our family’s hideaway, which backs up to the extraordinary Red Rocks of Sedona, will provide you with first-class accommodations at a price that’s within your reach.
From the luxury mattresses and high thread count bed linens to the thick cotton towels in the bathrooms; from the great room’s warm kiva fireplace and flat screen TV to the well-stocked kitchen with all newer appliances and granite countertops, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how “Javelina Haven” (also known as "Javelina Hideaway") brings you so much value for your traveling dollars.
This custom built, three-bedroom, two-bath Pueblo-style home is tucked away in the quiet, semi-rural “Coffee Pot” neighborhood near the rock formation of the same name. Our getaway is on Maxwell House Drive; you’ll see other streets carrying similarly vintage coffee brand names to carry out the theme: Sanborn, Farmer Brothers, Nescafe. Our major cross street, off Highway 89, is Coffee Pot Drive. It’s clear that those who laid out Sedona’s streets had some fun naming them!
We believe you’ll be enchanted by the West Sedona setting and wowed by the rock formations that tower over the little canyon that opens to our backyard. From the great room, breakfast nook, dining area, master bedroom and the wraparound patio you’ll see the formations known as Thunder Mountain, Three Golden Chiefs and Sugarloaf. And scenic Sugarloaf Trailhead, which provides hiking and mountain bike access to a host of trails, is about two short blocks away from our vacation home.
Get away from it all. Enjoy a stay at our Javelina Hideaway.

We really enjoyed our stay at Javelina Haven. Well stocked with necessities and the home is very nice. Back patio feels secluded even though there are neighbors all around. Close to hiking and a quick drive into Sedona.

Great location. Beautiful home. Arrived after a 2400 mile drive to the house not clean but the owner Carol took care of it immediately! We loved watching the havalina herd come through every morning.

We chose this house because it looked pretty and comfortable and had a lot of large windows so even when the early July heat kept us indoors we wouldn’t feel closed off and frustrated. It was so much more! It’s close to all the restaurants we like and on a fairly suburban street but once you walk through the doors and into the great room, the suburbia completely disappears. All you see is the outdoors and wildlife! Carol the owner had warned us we might not see javalinas because in the summer they forage at night. But it turns out, they go home in the morning - right outside the windows! We also saw a gorgeous amber colored coyote, a couple of rabbits - and, on a couple of days lots of birds of many different species. (If you like birds, pack binoculars. Some were really close but others were an intriguing flash of color just too far away to identify.) Oh and unusually comfortable sofa.
So: clean beautiful comfortable house, amazing wildlife viewing, close to excellent restaurants… Highly recommended.

This property is extraordinary. Very peaceful and private yet close to everything. We loved having our coffee on the beautiful patio each morning watching the birds, etc. We had two mornings of Javelina parading through with their babies!
The house has everything you need. The living room has a large wrap around couch to accomodate lounging and relaxing. There are great views everywhere.
We hiked up to Sugar Loaf most mornings for a panaoramic view of Sedona. Great place to meditate.
Thank you Carol for sharing your beautiful home!

Communication with Carol the owner was fantastic and very informative. The house is spacious, well stocked with amenities and most importantly very clean. We were 2 adults on a motorcycle trip. We didn't use much of the house, but everything was there and ready if we needed it. I would highly recommend the house for a group of friends, a family or a couple looking for a nice quiet neighborhood very close to town. I would definitely stay again.

Perfect location. Feels private but right in town and in a great neighborhood. We saw dozens of javelinas and their babies come right by in the backyard. So many birds also. Carol was wonderful and gave perfect instructions, check in and check out were so easy. It was such a wonderful stay and would love to stay there again if we get to travel back.

We very much enjoyed our third stay at Javelina Haven. Having coffee on the patio in the morning and seeing and listening to the birds is so enjoyable before going hiking. The home is beautiful inside and out. A perfect base camp for the two of us and our two dogs. Thanks again Carol.

We had a great stay. The house was wonderful. Huge couch for relaxing after long hikes. The beds were comfortable. It had everything we needed to make meals. Bashas grocery store was an easy walk to get all necessities. The house is close to downtown but perfectly situated so you are out of the way of the crowds. Great hiking right out the backyard.

Access to trails around the corner was very convenient. Anything you would possibly need was there including backpacks, hiking sticks, coolers, picnic basket, water bottles and red rock pass. Property was beautiful and clean. Enjoyed the fire place during chilly mornings and evenings and the backyard wildlife was fun to watch. We saw a small herd of Javalina’s, a fox or lynx and many birds.

The whole family absolutely adored this property! The interior is spacious, clean, and full of natural light and the back patio is the place to be in the morning for coffee! Comfortable beds, quality linens... I just can't say enough good things. Memories were definitely made!

It was wonderul, very well appointed, perfect location (in town yet private). Enjoyed the javelina watching. Great beds. Carol was excellent with the communication. There was an angry neighbor, he scared our kids by yelling at us for backing into his drive (less then 60 seconds) while backing our second car out of the drive way of the rental....so avoid the neighbors across the street if possible.

Great house to stay in for a week prior to my nephew’s wedding. Beautiful views. Saw the javelinas twice. Was great to be able to walk to the Sugarloaf trailhead. Because of the location, was able to do many activities without dealing with the traffic in uptown Sedona.

I was traveling with my dog and my primary goal was to hike. The location was quiet and beautiful. The home is amazing! We walked to Sugarloaf Trail head at least once a day. It was also close to explore more of Sedona. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

Our stay was great. Originally we planned for a larger group but it ended up being me and my 3 granddaughters. The place was very spacious and close to everything we needed. We were able to do fun and educational tours. A nice time was had by all.

We arrived at the house to find out that the location was perfect for convenience to West Sedona - grocery stores, restaurants, tour companies, and trails. Everything was so close! The house itself was beautiful, well maintained, and well stocked with every supply that we needed for our stay. The recommendations in the guest book were very helpful, and we really enjoyed the hike to the Sugarloaf trail thanks to the hand-drawn map. When I had a question for Carol, she responded quickly. Her personal touch and hospitality made it feel like home. This is the place I would stay when I come back to Sedona. Thank you Carol!

Javelina Haven is the perfect spot to enjoy everything Sedona and the surrounding area has to offer. Well appointed and comfortable Home exceeded listing. Peaceful neighborhood with stunning views of the Red Rocks. We enjoyed mornings and evenings on the peaceful patio. Wineries and breweries were a short drive away. Sunset at the Sedona airport was amazing!
Carol is pleasant and attentive. We hope to enjoy Javelina Haven again!

The location of the property, communication with the owner and the quiet neighborhood were perfect for our short stay. We especially enjoyed the fact that the property was not downtown, yet, grocery stores were walkable if needed. Our only regret was not being able to see a Javelina. We did see a mule deer which made up for the disappointment!

A group of women and I picked this property to stay at during a retreat and it was the perfect place to land in the evenings and relax in the mornings before our busy days. Beautiful views off the back patio and tons of space, nice quiet neighborhood. The location is pretty central to everything (and right down the street from my fave eatery - Chocolatree) and the house had plenty of room for 4 women. Would definitely stay here again!

We so enjoyed our return stay at Javelina Haven. Beautiful home with wonderful views. It was so nice having coffee on the patio in the morning surrounded by birds and their songs before breakfast and day hiking. Also enjoyed seeing the javelinas. A wonderful base camp for the two of us and our two dogs. Looking forward to our next stay! Thanks again Carol

Our first VRBO experience and I can't wait to return. The property was well suited both to visit Sedona and for hiking the local trails. Easy walking distance to the Sugarloaf trail head and to Sugarloaf Mountain. Checkin was easy and no hassle. The property was immaculate, the mountain view stunning and the patio provided a comfortable area to relax. Highly recommend.

Carol was a great help to us and the property was really awesome. The views of the red rocks are beautiful and everything is updated in the house. We had a great stay with the dogs. The weather was the most crazy weather ive seen in Sedona but we could still hike and bike. The trailhead is just like 2 blocks - amazing!
