About this house rental
At the heart of historic Eastern Market, is a rowhouse that was on the Historic Restoration Home Tour just waiting for you and your family! One of the few rowhouses that have been completely modernized and restored while still maintaining the old Federal charm, it will be comfortable and exactly what you are looking for as you tour the Nations Capitol. 8 blocks from The Capitol, and one stop on the metro from the National Mall and the Smithsonian museums. We also have a Trader Joe’s at Eastern Market for grocery shopping! Steps away from the Metro, Barracks Row shopping and eating, Nationals Stadium and the Capitol itself, this location cannot be beat! No car necessary when staying here as we are a 10 minute Uber ride from Reagan National Airport. Did we also mention we have a backyard complete with Solo Stove, Weber Grill and Outdoor Heater. So grab your groceries for the week down the street at the two grocery stores (Safeway and Trader Joe’s) and save some money while you are here. Beautiful property. Great location, centrally located. A little tight for 10 people, specially since there was no closet space for guest to use as they were all full with owner's belongings. Was worried we would accidentally break some of the decorations as the house had them all over the house (very pretty, though). Overall a great experience.

Great DC Space!
This is a great property to visit our Nation's Capital. It is located just off the Mall. We walked to the Capital the first night and my kids were in awe of the beauty of the Mall at night. This location is a quick walk to the Metro, Trader Joes, and many restaurants at Eastern Market. We also found the availability of escooters and bikes at the Metro station fun to tour the city.

Gorgeous home in a great location. Chantal is very responsive to answer any questions,
Easy to walk to monuments and East Street Market. Would stay here again. Beautiful, safe neighborhood. The backyard was cozy and a nice plus.

Wonderful
We had an amazing time visiting all the sites in DC and having this lovely home to come back to everyday was ideal. The location was great and parking was plentiful. We were there over the Fourth of July, it was extremely hot and humid, and this home provided much needed relief. The AC was more than adequate and we were thankful. The hosts were easily accessible by phone, we thank them for a wonderful time.

This house is beautifully decorated, walkable to Eastern Market metro, and well appointed kitchen. Hosts live here and move downstairs to basement apt during occupancy. They were helpful, and plenty of towels, great beds, linens, etc. Great airconditioning system for the DC humidity.
Kitchen is fully equipped, although we didn't use it except for coffee machine. Lots of great places to eat in Eastern Market area where you catch the Metro. We started in the market itself as our guidebook said they have the best crabcakes in DC and we agreed. We stayed here with three adults and three 13 year old grandkids and all were comfortable. Be aware, this is a pre-1900s house, so stairs are narrow and steep, but manageable, and our Midwest teens loved that it was so old and connected with DC history. It would have been nice to have some written quidelines, but we managed and owners were responsive and helpful, plus nearby. It is about a mile walk from here to Union Station and/or Congress. We took the metro for other sights farther along the National Mall.

Love this place!
This house is so full of character, warmth and history! There is Washington DC memorabilia on the walls and the bookshelves are home to many interesting books. It was so clean with very comfortable beds! The yard is beautiful! We really enjoyed relaxing in the evening with a glass of wine after a long day of sightseeing! Cooking was a breeze in this kitchen as it was well stocked with everything we needed. The location is so convenient to everything and in a great and safe neighborhood! We even walked to the store several times. Chantel and Nathaniel were awesome making everything so easy from check-in to check-out! We will definitely be back! Thanks Chantel and Nathaniel for making our DC trip wonderful!

This was a fabulous home to stay in , very close to shops, restaurants and many things to do. We had our own car but used Lyft to get around it was so easy. Many of the monuments are within walking distance, so that is a great plus. Overal this is a lovely home in a great location, would certainly stay again

Great home - great location.
Thank you Wienecke's for sharing you historic home with out family.
The house is very well furnished, great beds, fully stocked kitchen and comfy furniture in the basement. The house has charming character with floor squeaks, narrow staircases and a modern kitchen that makes you feel right at home. It is a great place to stay, when we come back to DC we would definitely stay here again.
The house is in a great renewed neighborhood that is within walking distance to major sites; the US Capital is a short 25 minute walk. Bus lines are less than a block away, coffee shop, restaurants, bars and the Eastern Market are less than a 10 minute walk. It is a good "home" base location to explore Washington DC.
This is a great home in a great location!

Unique and perfect
We spent a Thanksgiving weekend visiting our son in college. It is a lovely house close to all museums. Very nice neighborhood. The owner was very nice and responsive and the house had everything we needed. Would love to stay again.

Great house! Great Location!
My family of 7 recently stayed at this wonderful house. We loved staying in the Eastern Market area of Washington, D.C. because of the warm, home-like feel of the neighborhood (Trader Joe's is nearby). With a short 5-6 block walk you're at the Metro station. The home wonderfully accommodated us and was our respite after a long day of sightseeing. The kitchen was well appointed, the bedrooms were comfortable and we enjoyed watching movies in the downstairs living room! Chantal was attentive and quickly available to answer any questions or concerns. We would stay at this home again!

Great Eastern Market Location!
The Eastern Market is ranked in the top 10 neighborhoods in the country! It has everything you need within walking distance including the National Mall. The location is perfect for a D.C. trip. The row home was well kept and provided us everything we needed for our family vacation. I would definitely recommend this home for anyone that is looking to discover D.C. and wants a location that is conducive to seeing all of the sights!

The moment I walked in the home I loved the historic interior. There was 8 of us (4 couples). The backyard was wonderful as that is where we spent most of our time. We were only in the house to cook and sleep. The location was great. I think I misunderstood Chantal regarding the sleeping arrangements as it did not accommodate 4 couples comfortably. Other than that it was a great time. Chantal was a great hostess and I really enjoyed visiting with her and her husband. Thank you Chantal!

Beautiful Historic Gem, Luscious Backyard with Fabulous Location
Our family loved this house. Our son was graduating from Georgetown and his apartment was actually 4 blocks from this property, who knew! Our family group of 6 included my 84 year old mother and my 11 month old granddaughter. This house was as comfortable as it was beautiful down to every detail. The furniture and the décor was outstanding and I wish my kitchen cabinets were as beautifully organized as these were. The back yard is surrounded by a luscious garden with comfortable lounge chairs and lovely deck for eating outside. The family room downstairs is a great hangout room and it was perfect for the baby to crawl around in and of course we were on the couch watching the Capitols play in the Hockey division championships. On our last night, I sat in my Pajamas with my son on the front steps of this beautiful row house, talking almost until the sun came up - It was like being in a movie. I felt like I lived there. Also, Trader Joes is literally 2 blocks away and it's about a 15 minute walk to the Capitol. Chantal and Nat are wonderful. I wish I owned this house.
loved, loved, loved, it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this house and location. It feels so quaint and cozy, awesome back porch with tons of privacy but then when you walk out the front, you are two blocks away from grocery, amazing restaurants, and the Metro! The Smithsonian mall is only 4 stops once you are on the metro. Super easy, convenient, and a gorgeous home with so much detail and ALL the amenities of home. We actually got to meet our hosts and they are a lovely couple! 5 starts and no doubt next time I am in DC, this is what we will book.

We were three adults and two children enjoying all that DC has to offer. Our hosts were gracious and accommodating. The property couldn’t be more beautiful and is clearly restored with love.
The location made it easy for us to see anything we wanted to with minimal travel time. The kitchen and accommodations also made it easy for us to cook in and enjoy family time after a long day of seeing the sights.
We thoroughly enjoyed and plan to return again.

Overall a 99%. Our biggest whining between us 5 guys was that there were no paper towels. There were cloth dishrags, but for 5 guys who are house broke due to 42 years of marriage, we just were not trained to blow our noses and drain bacon fat on cloth dishrags.
Small other whine was no bar soap in bathrooms.
I just suggest the owners tell guests "there are cloth wash clothes that the owners are more than happy to wash, but if you want paper towels, go to Trader Joe's and get them. " Also, get your own soap.
Washington DC is a significant world city that should be explored and enjoyed by all. I highly recommend this home if you are looking to have an extended stay.

Chantal and Nath are great hosts and their home is beautiful.

The house was very nice and clean and well-appointed. Amenities like quality of linens and kitchenware was far superior than most places you will ever stay. Every space very nicely updated and the location was exceptional. You can walk to many excellent restaurants and the Metro. The Trader Joe's is just down the street for some provisions. My only possible criticism would be there's no place comfortable to gather in this house to enjoy a glass of wine with friends, apart from the back patio. The back patio and garden space is spacious and lovely. Overall, we had a great experience.

Nestled in a quaint and historic neighborhood, our group of ten loved this house and proximity to the Metro as well as Trader Joes! The owners are friendly and accommodating. Overall, this was a wonderful Washington experience and the house was a highlight.

Experience more then the sites, experience what it is like to live in DC itself. This is DC living like you have always imagined it. 19th Century row house neighborhood. Short walk to capital, grocery, and metro. Cheap uber to all the sites with almost not need for a freeway. Hosts that are incredibly kind and gracious.
