About this cabin rental
Nestled in approximately five acres of trees at the end of a long, winding driveway, Evans Woods is a lovely, quiet and secluded getaway on Townline Rd, conveniently situated between the villages of Ephraim and Sister Bay. If you’re inclined, it’s an easy bike ride into Ephraim on quiet roads. Or, ride the opposite direction to Koepsel’s Farm Market on Hwy. 57 to pick up something fun to add to your dinner menu. There are walking trails through the property, making it easy to enjoy the beauty of your surroundings.
This comfortable cottage, full of large windows and natural light, offers all the amenities necessary to make your travels as carefree as possible. Concentrate on enjoying your vacation – just bring yourself and your suitcase! Pack light – there’s a washer and dryer so you can easily throw in a load of laundry at your convenience. Towels and bed linens can be furnished, along with all the necessary kitchen equipment, coffeemaker, microwave, and dishwasher. With plenty of outdoor space and pet-friendly wood floors, you can bring your canine family members to enjoy your vacation with you! Please note- pet fees are additional and not included in the VRBO rental rate. Our pet fee is $30 per day per dog with a limit of 2 pets.
You can spend hours on the shaded, wraparound deck, taking afternoon naps, watching the wildlife, or enjoying a happy hour beverage while you grill your dinner on the gas grill. On cool evenings, you can head back inside and keep warm sitting by the wood burning fireplace in the living room.
Spend a week enjoying the scenery, eating great food, shopping, golfing, walking, biking, hiking, enjoying beaches and water activities…… and don't forget the drive-in movies! It’s all within minutes of our doorstep. Looking for a quiet day at home? We keep a few yard games on hand, as well as books, DVDs, games and puzzles for rainy days.

We really enjoyed our stay at Evans Woods. It was quiet (except for that evening whippoorwill but that's the kind of noise we want to hear), relaxing, and natural. We were very comfortable in the cabin and enjoyed the natural light and the views. The beds were comfy and we were all asleep by 10. The kitchen had almost everything we needed and there was a very nice washer and dryer. The biggest thing of all--the property manager and owner were responsive and pleasant when we had issues. Please note: the well pump is now brand new. The old one went out while we were there and they came in to replace it promptly and assured that we didn't go without water during that time.

The house was well kept, clean and organized. Kitchen was well stocked. Lots of games and puzzles. The set up, Jack and Jill bath and 2 bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom and bath down, worked perfect for our family with two under two upstairs and my parents downstairs.

Our second stay here and we loved it just as much as the first time. Ideally situated making it an easy drive to anywhere. Evan’s Woods is cozy and charming. Lots of wildlife right outside the door. Great communication from the owner. Everything was just as described.

We love Door County and enjoyed this home tucked back in the woods. Our granddaughter (2yo) loved all the deer and being able to run outside. The house was very clean and provided everything we needed. The location was perfect.
If I could give more stars to the property manager I would. The first day we locked ourselves out. I texted Jim on our way to breakfast and he had us back in before we made it to the restaurant! We will definitely be back.

Evan Woods was clean, beautiful, and located in a secluded area. The accommodations were wonderful! The cabin has picturesque views on the property. Centrally located to all things in Door County. Loved seeing the deer and hearing the Whip-poor-wills at night The host/manager has terrific customer service and responds quickly to all inquiries. Thanks for hosting us!

Our recent stay at Evans Woods was wonderful! The pictures don’t do this place justice. As others have said, the house was very, very clean. We found the furniture to be comfortable and appreciated having a washer and dryer since we were there for a week. We had everything we needed and loved the outdoor space, in particular (our dogs really loved the deck and the grassy area in front of the house. Location is incredible - Newport State Park is our favorite and it was really nice to be so close!

This home was gorgeous and exactly how it is described, and even better! One of our favorite memories in Door County was having outdoor fires with the beautiful set up that the owner's offered. This home was an easy drive into town and to everywhere we had on our to-do list. A very quiet and private location. We loved every minute of our stay! We will be coming back here next year!

This property is lovely. The surrounding woods added a terrific outside dimension for walking and taking in nature. There was plenty of space for myself, my husband and two adult children. The quiet location with easy access to downtown Ephraim was perfect. Highly recommend.

Property is in a great location and does better than most with little details - nice updated bath fixtures, light switches are all labeled, kitchen appliances are new and it is organized with good-quality dish ware, extra paper products and soap provided, exceptionally clean. But the drain plug on the inviting soaking tub in the LL bath did not keep bath water from slowly draining out during use, and I will agree with other reviews that the beds were uncomfortably firm. We would also describe the living room furniture as uncomfortable as well. Our family of 4 struggled all week to comfortably hang out in that room together due to a terribly worn-out and uncomfortable sofa and recliner set in the rental’s only soft-seating area. We have stayed in larger, more comfortable VRBO rentals in DC for less money, and will probably do so and sacrifice central location in the future for these reasons.

Evans Woods was everything the description promised and more. The location was ideally situated allowing easy access to many attractions while feeling remote due to its setting in the woods. The house was welcoming, clean, and comfortable with everything we needed for a perfect stay. Communication with the owner was prompt and he answered any questions we had. I would highly recommend this rental home !!

Loved the property. Plenty of room for us ladies to eat. Sleep and play games. Had most of the things we needed to cook. Had to grab a crockpot from town for making a meal, no big deal. If weather would have been warmer we would have enjoyed the wonderful deck more. Easy to get into all the towns from this location. Loved the bikes in the trees for finding the property. Would come again.

Wonderful peaceful property in woods with deer, chipmunks squirrels. Voices carry far as so quiet🤗 So much to experience and enjoy nearby. Wonderful restaurants with outside patio for dogs. Long private drive and paved roads for walking and jogging. Only drawback was beds a little firm for us and larger beds are upstairs but we loved our 3 night stay.

We had a great stay at Evans Woods. This clean, quiet cabin met our needs with its 3 bedrooms, spacious deck and outdoor fire ring. It was close to hiking and kayak adventures, as well as village shopping around the peninsula. Great stay!

All 3 generations of our family enjoyed our stay very much. For my mother (in her 80s) it was great to have the ground-floor room and bath while we were upstairs with the kids. She felt very comfortable and was impressed by how clean and well-equipped the cabin is. The generous common room, deck and grounds give lots of space of shared activities. In particular we enjoyed the fire pit with the colorful chairs and sipping coffee on the deck while playing cards. Great selection of games. The mosquitos are large and intimidating--but they didn't bite us! We were happy to come earlier in the season and avoid the crowds. Next time we'd like to stay for a week at least!

This was a wonderful property! It was spotlessly clean upon arrival, which is always such a relief to see! It was in the most scenic wooded area, but it had a nice front yard area as well where we could walk the dog. We saw a deer on the property nearly every day! It was decorated even more nicely than the pictures show with tasteful bedding colors. Huge windows ensure that no matter where you look, you see the beautiful outdoors. Close to everything, yet tucked away and private. Just a short drive to town (five minutes) and short drives away from Fish Creek, Sister Bay, and Bailey's Harbor. It's literally the perfect location! The night sky was so clear and bright and firepits were a treasured memory!
Jim was a delight to communicate with and sent an email prior to our arrival with excellent instructions, spot on driving directions, and he was kind enough to provide us with great dining suggestions as well. I asked if he knew of a place where we could rent a boat, and he recommended the place in town and it was wonderful! All around, he was so easy to work with, friendly and helpful!
We had a wonderful stay, and I definitely plan on returning with the family. Being able to bring our dog, Winston, was a huge bonus as well!

Loved the location, close to Peninsula State Park and Golf course. Several good restaurants are only a short drive away. The property was very clean, spacious and cozy and our dog loved being outside. Kids could have their own separate room and bathroom which was nice. Highly recommend!

The property was just as described but better. I have been to many VRBO across the country and I have never been to a property that is more organized and clean as Jim's. The location is so beautiful, peaceful and centrally located. And to be able to bring our dog was a special treat.

We had a fantastic time here, and everything about the trip was super easy and relaxed. The property and surrounding area were gorgeous and quiet. Our highlights included several fires in the evenings at the firepit, and seeing the Milky Way after the fire had died down.
The first floor was easy to childproof in about 5 minutes as well. We blocked off the stairs and hid the fireplace tools and were good to go! The second floor could be scary for small children and dogs, though.

This was a perfect place to spend a few days in Door county. Just minutes from town, but you feel like you are miles away. We loved the property and were able to run our dogs outside! Close to Peninsula State Park and other great hiking areas. Would definitely stay here again!

We would highly recommend this wonderful place in Ephriam. The house was very close to everything we wanted to visit including Fall Fest in Sister Bay. The property was beautiful and everything inside was as described. It was clean and very well furnished. Jim even helped us in an emergency. Not many people would be so willing. Thank you so much Jim! We definitely will be back.

This property could not have been more perfect for our family of five adults. It is located on a super quiet road that is minutes from the busy towns of Fish Creek and Ephraim. We were able to bike to Peninsula Park, golf there and see a show at Peninsula Players Theater. The house was very clean and well stocked. The deck overlooking the grassy yard was perfect for our morning coffee or evening happy hour.
We can’t wait to come back next year!

House was very clean and property manager was very easy to work with. House is centrally located, just few mins in either direction to restaurants, entertainment and the beach. Close enough to the action but far enough to give privacy. Highly recommend and look forward to a future visits.

We had a wonderful 9-day stay at Evans Woods at the height of spring bird migration. Despite being only a few minutes' drive from Fish Creek, the home is quiet, secluded and surrounded by woodland. The interior is spacious and inviting. The beds are very comfortable - we slept very well here. Everything is very clean and well maintained. This is our new favorite place to stay in Door County. A fantastic location to take in the snow and the woods while sitting by the fire. The windows and first floor open concept were wonderful and allowed us to be a part of nature, even though it was cold outside! (It was January, so not a surprise). A lovely place.
