Romantico soggiorno

Bellissima la camera con vista mare, veramente suggestivo non potevamo chiedere di meglio, presente sia ventola che condizionatore, abbiamo dormito benissimo! Ottima anche la possibilità di mangiare i pasti o prendersi un succo fresco! Staff eccezionale, una famiglia dolcissima!

Purtroppo abbiamo beccato la spiaggia molto affollata essendo andati durante il weekend, ma già lunedì era vuota! Ammetto che non ho trovato la spiaggia libera pulitissima, ma probabilmente è dovuto anche al fatto che c'è stata mareggiata. Ad ogni modo consiglio di fare tappa qui almeno un paio di notti, forse l'ultima vera tappa dal sapore srinalkese prima di essere catapultati nell'occidentale sud-ovest dell'isola.

Lovely bed and breakfast at Dondra Head

Lovely bed and breakfast at Dondra Head - the southernmost point of Sri Lanka. Great family running the business. Room spacious and clean, WiFi fast and probably I have had in Sri Lanka, breakfast good and varied, including freshly squeezed juices every morning. Located literally next to Dondra Lighthouse, so very special location among the palm trees. Very local vibe. I also ate dinner here - super fresh lobster was awesome. Tons of green parrots live in the palm trees and make for a fun viewing experience also. I would come back and stay here again.

No complaints about accommodation itself whatsoever. The beach is literally in front of accommodation so visible from the breakfast area. Local women, but also some men, dress conservatively, so I did not go to the beach because I would have been the only foreigner in a bikini. I don't think the locals would mind - everybody was very friendly - but just something to consider for solo female travelers. Now, I knew this in advance, because I read all the reviews and checked out the details, and it did not affect my stay at all - I was at a beach location before and after Matara, so I was fine just chilling here in the hammocks and sightseeing.

Great budget place to stay that is right on the beach.

Excellent location right on the beach. Very large excellent breakfast - dinner was good too. Owner was very friendly/helpful.

Magnifique séjour près de la plage

L’emplacement au bord de la plage. Le personnel très agréable. Avons été accueillis avec un jus de fruit. Les repas et petit déjeuner Sri Lankais étaient copieux et variés. Je recommande vivement cet endroit.

Quiet bay and an elephant too

We stayed here a few years ago, and they have been busy improving the property since then. It's right on a little bay that is really popular with the locals, and an elephant dropped by in the morning on it's way to the local temple. It's great to see a family business doing well :)

I wish we'd stayed another night.

La localisation Tout proche d’une petite crique de pêcheurs La vie locale est très présente pour notre bonheur!! Mon emplacement favori: un très grand hamac au dessus de l’eau Vous pourrez choisir votre langouste dans le vivier plongé au pied du restaurant À noter l’arrivée massive de perruches à 18:00 tous les jours pour venir nicher dans les cocotiers Départ à 6:00 le matin

A special place to stay

Wonderful stay. Beautiful location in a small bay with a very lovely family. We loved the friendliness of the family and they really do look after their guests . We will stay again.

Calm stay at quiet beach

The breakfast was marvellous (fresh fruits, Omelette, Hoppers, Mango Juice and these pancakes with coconut filling), also loved their Roti with Dhal and the Rice & Curry. The family is very friendly and greets you with a fresh mango Juice :) also, doing laundry was possible.

Прекрасный маленький отель рядом с маяком. Приветливый хозяин Диланка. Вкусная еда и красивые виды. Чистая, светлая комната. Постельное белье и полотенца свежие. Так же, Диланка помог организовать нам тук-тук до следующей нашей остановки.

Было бы замечательно иметь небольшой холодильник в самом номере

Очень красивая чистая комната, у меня был душ и туалет в номере. Была возможность попросить заменить белье и полотенца. Я жила на втором этаже и у меня был балкон с роскошным видом. Прям рядом с виллой есть ресторан со свежими соками и едой.

Вы должны понимать что это весьма отдаленное место, самая южная точка острова. Здесь нет городской суеты, крупный магазин находится далеко и могу возникнуть трудности с готовкой еды, так как у вас нет кухни.Только чайник и чашки. Мне было этого вполне достаточно ) Холодильник есть в доме у хозяев виллы, но вы не имеете к нему доступ после 9 вечера

Absolutely awesome

The host and his family are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They made our stay an awesome one, served a wonderful breakfast and on our first night a candlelight dinner just by the sea. Completely by chance we happened to be in Dondra during Perehera festival season, so the family took us to the Festival Parade with thousands of dancers and elephants. Absolutely stunning!

We should have stayed longer :)

Relaxed...easy going...beautiful nature

Location was awesome if you looking for more local and less touristy feel :)) Family is very lovely and helpful. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is available on request,reasonable prices. Bonus very delicious traditional Sri Lankan food!! :)) smoothies,fruit juices also available.They have chill area by the beach. Town in walking distance. You can go up the light house on Saturdays, spectacular views. Matara is also not far with transport. Thank you for the wonderful time, much love!

Enchanting place, loved it!

Loved it here! Off the beaten track, amazing scenery, local friendly vibes, best hammock in SL. Totally love that the owners here clean up the beach every day and they are environmentally aware. Also very helpful with transport options. I really felt happy here, it was one of my favourite places in all of SL. Thank you guys, keep up the creativity and hospitality, you are the best!

Host, Location, Food, Room: everything was just perfect. very warm welcome and best service by our host, had the most delicious homemade dinner with Sri Lankan food and fell asleep an woke up with the sound of the sea. everything was clean and well maintained. peaceful and relaxing place off the main tourist spots. we’d love to come back ☺️.

Everything was perfect! Especially if you try to escape the bad air of the city and the huge crowds, this is the place to go! There’s a cute little beach 10m next to the hotel and the food is cooked by the family itself. If you come to Sri-Lanka you should definitely not miss this place. Make sure to also walk around the picturesque town!

It was wonderful

I enjoyed my stay very much. I was very kindly welcomed with a fresh pineapple juice. The owner called me during my arrival to make sure I was okay. The room was very nice and clean. It is nice decorated and I had everything I needed. The accommodation is DIRECTLY on the water. You can relax in hammocks and swim and snorkel in the bay. It is very quiet. The accommodation is run by a very nice family. They fulfill your every wish and you feel very welcome. The beach and the surrounding area were cleaned every day. You can feel the love of the hosts. I will come back.

Lovely Guest house near to Lighthouse

This place is pretty new and the rooms are of good standard and really clean. The location is excellent right under the lighthouse and a lovely little beach that is good for swimming. Staff are really friendly and go out their way to help if needed.

Breakfast is 1200rps and it would be better to just include in the price, saying that breakfast was very good. Rooms only have a small fan so do get very hot, but I requested an additional fan and they provided for me 😁

Clean and fascinating surroundings with beach front view, dinner on the tree house was amazing with sea breeze. Foods were delicious and service was excellent. You can have a safe sea bath. The place is few foot steps away of the light house and point Dondra.

Fantastic time on superb location with most kind host family. It is situated just at the iconic Dondra Light house, next to the pleasant beach and has its own beach bar with hanging net over the water. Place is not hard to acces. The room is fresh and tasty, bed is comfy. Bathroom is clean, mine (upper apartment) had direct lighthouse view with amazing morning and evening parrot chirps. Room has beach and garden view. Hosts are heartwarmingly nice and will help you with every wish. They have cooked me delicious authentic Srilankan cuisine, breakfasts at the beach bar were unforgettable. Absolutely recommended and I wish I will come again.

couldn’t have been closer to the beach, the views from this property are amazing. a full view across the whole bay and the lighthouse behind. the beds we’re comfortable and clean, and the staff were so helpful and friendly
