We do an annual family beach trip, to celebrate my husband's birthday. This house is a gem. It accommodates our family with the 4 bedrooms and baths plus allows my son to bring his two small puppies. Its a short walk to the beach. Stores are close by if you need anything. This is our second time here and we will continue to come as long as its available.

The property was located in great neighborhood and a block from the beach. Overall the property was clean and accommodating and a lot of space for hanging and enjoying the summer weather.

We had a great stay here, house has plenty of room, great parking, washer and dryer. If you love reading they have plenty of book options and some fun family games to play. There are bikes, a wagon and boogie boards. Plenty of linens, so no need to pack beach towels. There are camping chairs which was also very nice to bring to the beach.

Great location. Every year we do a family beach vacation, this home was large enough for the 11 of us plus allowed us to bring our 2 small dogs. Each family had there own bedroom and bathroom. Perfect for us.

Myself and 9 family members stayed here to celebrate my parents 45th wedding anniversary and 70th birthdays! Home is beautiful and had everything my family needed to have a good time! The outdoor space was amazing and the extra large dining table was perfect for playing games! Bedrooms were sufficient and had plenty of blankets however, I would recommend bringing own pillows and maybe even a mattress pad as beds are very hard. 3.5 bathrooms and all had plenty of towels and extra bath accessories which was nice. Kitchen was beautiful and had everything we could possibly need. Would plan on taking extra paper products such as paper towels and toilet paper as what was supplied ran out after a day. We were looking forward to riding the bicycles that were advertised but both had flat tires. Instead we used the boogy boards and beach chairs provided and had such a fun beach day!
There was a leak in the garage that poured water everytime upstairs bath was used that was concerning but the property manager was easily reached and responded quickly.
Definitely a great beach house for the price and would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The location of the house is great. Close to stores, restaurants and walking distance to beach.
I have stayed in a few beach locations in Ventura and enjoy visiting Ventura and surrounding areas.
As for staying at this site, it needs lots of TLC!

We were very happy with the house. Very clean. Plenty of room to hang out and relax. There were a lot of extras, too, like board games, books, beach equipment for us to use. Really convenient to the beach (walking distance) and to the port for Channel Islands (short drive). Loved having the washer/dryer/drying rack there. Outdoor shower was great, too, for rinsing off the sand after a day out.
We were *very* conscientious about the neighbors. We pulled up and got some leery side-eye looks from locals. No fault of the owner (and, honestly, I’d be the same if I had a vacation rental next door). So we were constantly on guard about our noise level. No big deal, but definitely not the place to have a loud party.

This house is perfect for a family beach vacation!! My daughter was married in Oxnard which was a destination wedding for us. Our three adult children from around the country stayed with us, so we were all together for the week. We were comfortable, and enjoyed the downstairs pool table and huge couch for relaxing and visiting. Perfect place for the bride to get ready, the skylights made for beautiful photos, so close to the beach that we enjoyed walks along the water and it was the perfect place to relax!. Well appointed kitchen with plenty of small appliances, we were grateful for the extra towels, blankets, and little things like extra trash can liners. Our host was amazing, he anticipated all of our needs and made this the most special weekend we could have spent at our daughters wedding!! We stay at large Vrbos (4+ bedrooms) twice a year, this house and host are a 10! We’ll be back.

Very good location, walking distance to a clean sandy beach. Close driving distance to stores and restaurants. House is very nice, spacious with lots of amenities: cookware, dinnerware, utensils and glasses; towels and bedding all plentiful. Only the paper goods (toilet tissues and paper towels) were not enough for a 4 night stay.

Arlo video cameras everywhere. Privacy laws broken. Tvs did not work upon arrival. Worked with owner to fix but a waste of time. Spectrum showed up next day to fix. Barely any paper goods in unit. Needs a gardener to clean up weeds around property. Nice walking distance to beach.

Overall the stay was good. Location was premium, regardless of weather. We all came from wintery weather, and we love the Shores. As for the property … It needs a good amount of care from the owner(s).
Good space. I rented the same house on Terramar years back, also at The Shores. It was 10x nicer.
Old, dirty furniture (some in disrepair), old remnant of water damage complete with signs of black mold are not desirable, and unsafe. The clothes dryer needs servicing, but functioned. Fortunately there were a lot of blankets & throws to cover the dirty couch and chairs. The feather stuffed furniture and pillows are ready for retirement.
It did not appear that good cleaning between guests was a priority. The pantry and other storage areas/ cabinets/ drawers were so disorganized. The BBQ grill was so filthy we couldn’t even use it. Thumbs down on towels/ linens. Extras were in a little closet and on the floor rather than a small shelf or laundry baskets-???
The images on the web page show good looking bed rooms and the beds were indeed nice ones. The foundations on the other hand were not so nice, and uncomfortable. Because I am big on clean, it didn’t take long to discover the mattress pads were not washed prior to our visit. The king mattress is very nasty.
Bring your own paper towels, toilet paper, laundry soap, …etc
The property could be lovely if cleaned up a bit. A little gardening, decluttering, sprucing inside and out.

We spent our annual family post-Christmas trip at this house. We had a wonderful time.
The common rooms are very spacious and comfortable. There were so many extras like books and puzzles and games. We have never seen so many and we go on this trip every year. We even discovered a new game for us called Balderdash which was fun and hilarious so we ordered one for ourselves.
The beach is a short walk from the house and it is wonderful. We saw people riding horses a couple of times which was pretty cool. Our trip was during several storms or we would have gone more often and we could have used the beach towels.
The appliances in the kitchen are wonderful and, for once, there were enough plates and glasses for a group. The kitchen is spacious and easy to work in.
We went to the Reagan Library (30 minutes) and the Ventura pier and downtown area (10 minutes) which were fun.
We wished that the fireplace in the primary bedroom worked but we enjoyed the fireplace upstairs (wish there were fireplace tools).
We would recommend this house to large groups.

This home is beautifully laid out. The master bedroom is perfect. The other three bedrooms are small, but comfy.
The place was sparkling clean & smelled like it just been scrubbed when we arrived.

When we got to the home and started looking around, there were a lot of items unclean and broken. I messaged the manager a list of issues including lack of toilet paper, overgrowth of shrubs/trees into chairs so cannot sit at firepit or table area for 4 people, trash full in bar area from last tenants, shattered tiles that hurt the bare feet, no lightbulbs/light in one bedroom, dog poop in sitting area outside, coffee grounds in coffee maker and Keireg were moldy. Robert responded saying my claims are wrong (we have pictures and why would I write and lie to him?), and that the place was professionally cleaned (maybe, but they need a talking to if he paid them), said he doesn't believe me about the coffee grounds, and that there is extra tp in the supply closet (there was none).
I wanted to let this man know the status of the rental thinking he could talk to his crew. However, he instead called me a liar, even though I told him we have pictures. I invited him to come see the place.
Also, one of the chairs in lounge area was broken (the leg looked to be glued back together), and when we arrived my nephew leaned on it (didn't even sit) and the leg broke apart at the re-glued area. I told Robert and he charged US for the broken chair $200. In talking to the neighbors they said that Robert is awful and all tenants have a huge problem with him.
Do NOT rent this place, it's not as the pictures show, and the manager does NOT care about your stay to say the very least!

Spacious, beautiful house. Loved the dinning room table. Our hangout spot. Reunited family, for after 2 years of separation. Pool table was a big hit. Had been many years, since we have played. Brought back good memories.. The beach was a plus. Looking forward to coming back.

Beach stay-cation
Nice house, needs a little love. Has a pool table, good pool cues. Fan in master not working. Outside furniture ok, but half needs refinishing. 3 minutes walk to the beach, nice coast line. Three to four tiles loose in front of downstairs bar sink, covered with a carpet. Well stocked kitchen and clean, but carpets are very stained. Overall, it was fine for the money, but as an owner, I'd attempt to fix the short comings and the home would be amazing.

Just as advertised
We had a great stay at the property. Our family consisted of 10 adults and there was ample room for everyone to gather in both the downstairs great room that has a HUGE sectional, pool table, etc, and also the upstairs kitchen, dining room and additional seating area. Great neighborhood and less than 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach. Ample parking, garage space for 1 car and room for 3 cars in the driveway space. We will definitely book again for our annual FAMILY VACATION!!!

This home has it all. We walked a couple blocks to the beach, played some pool, cozied up on the biggest couch I have ever seen and jammed out to music in the modern kitchen...All that each and every day at this wonderful home!

Annual family holiday get-together
A super house, just right for myself and 2 daughters and husbands. Everyone had their own space. A good space downstairs for exercise classes, room on the dining table for puzzles when it was raining and enough seating to all watch movies in the evenings. Very, very clean.

The house is in a great location and very spacious. Plenty of room to relax, play pool, eat together, and hang on the patios. The kitchen, baths, bedrooms and laundry are well appointed. We enjoyed walking to the beach from here.

Perfect for extended family
We really enjoyed our stay at Robert's property. It has everything for relaxing time for the whole family including two living rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, so we could watch different movies or play pool without disturbing the conversation upstairs. Even the many outdoor spaces were used to relax and have some privacy while the whole family was together. Easy walk to the beach and close enought o stores for anything we needed. We will definnitiley be back.

Wonderful Location
This home is located in an excellent spot for walking to the beach with my dog and 4 year old in the morning. I'd say it was only 500 feet to an opening between two beach houses for access. The home is furnished with all the latest appliances and was big enough to handle 4 couples. It has a rooftop balcony that was really cool to hangout at and the master bedroom has a nice little balcony to enjoy some coffee. The bathrooms had tons of shampoo and conditioner and there was access to extra blankets and pillows. We loved this place and wouldnt hesitate to book again!

We really enjoyed our time at this beach house. A short 5 minute walk and your toes are in the sand. The house is very spacious and we really appreciated the ample towels for both showering and the beach. This place is great for larger groups with lots of furniture, parking, and a large array of amenities that made for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The outdoor shower is a great bonus!
Communication with the host was quick and helpful. Check-in was a breeze. The house itself could use some minor upgrades (stairwell railing was a little loose, shower curtain in the downstairs bath kept falling down, and some of the rugs/furniture could be updated as they were stained or dated). Overall, it’s an amazing value and you can’t beat the location. I highly recommend!!

Plenty of space
He had a great time at this holiday house. We had two adults and two children. There was so much space! We didn’t really use the entire downstairs area, that has a huge living, game room and a private bed and bath. Went to the beach almost everyday. Brought our wagon which made the short walk very manageable. There are many TVs in the house, two of which we could get to work. The kitchen is new and very nice! The bathrooms are updated. The furniture, carpet and blinds throughout could use some updating. Overall, we had wonderful stay! Thanks so much

Best house for large family!
House fits everyone comfortably with two livings rooms and lots of extra space. The house is beautiful and roomy. It has lots of extra towels and blankets. Pool table is a favorite. Outdoor shower is soooo useful! The short walk to the beach is easy.

Summer vacation
You can tell this house has been enjoyed by many people over the years. We had questions when arrived and the manager responded quickly. There are some small things that could be updated and the TV service in the main bedroom didn’t work too well. But overall, it’s a beautiful area and we enjoyed our stay.

Overall great stay!
Great location, large house, lots of amenities. We brought our dog and it was a nice neighborhood to walk around in. Store, restaurant and small pub close by. House was great, plenty of room for 8 of us. Just a few small issues but nothing worth complaining about. Just noting it here for those of you who like real reviews like I do. Although the place was cleaned just prior to check in, there were a few stains on rugs and a smell on the downstairs couch. Remember it’s a pet friendly property so that comes with the territory. Speaking of pets it would have been nice to have side gates when taking the dog out at night but no big deal. Also we found some dishes that weren’t the cleanest but that’s more likely due to previous renters. We couldn’t get tv upstairs but downstairs worked fine. A couple of bathroom issues. Slow drains, loose toilet seats, and one running toilet. There’s a rooftop deck but nothing up there so you won’t use it. The deck off the dining room is fine though. It sounds like a lot of complaints but again these were small things that didn’t faze us much but I wanted to let you know about them. Also, the pool table is not perfectly level or I would have won every game 😂

Incredible and relaxing stay
We had nothing short but an incredible stay at this location. The owner was more than accommodating with both check-in, check-out, and questions about the house along the way. I definitely recommend this location and rental for anyone coming in town!
