About this house rental
Standing a shell’s throw from the warm Caribbean waters, Pelican Point’s 6 Vacation Apartments are beachfront & on the famous Sandy Beach, the center of activities/beach life in Rincon. From the courtyard-level, second-story, and penthouse, guests looking to unwind will find themselves in the middle of the idyllic tropical scenery & their piece of paradise. From your balcony, you can see the entire Sandy Beach strip and all the way to the Aguadilla airport.
We can assist in setting up day sailing tours, sunset cruises, and tours of the only US rain forest, along with special tours like Gilligan's Island and multiple huge waterfalls which are within an hour. The crystal clear summer ocean is great for swimming and snorkeling on uncrowded stretches of sand; brilliant sunsets are among Pelican Point's natural amenities. The national Marine Reserve is just 4 miles away or rent a horse and ride along the beach. During winter months, Rincon has been deemed the “Maui of the Caribbean-surfing capital." Rincon features some of the most forgivable and unforgettable waves in the world. It is centered on a point that catches swells from two directions, with consistently offshore winds on the 2 points. The best waves occur from November through April. Wake up and look at the surf conditions without your feet ever touching the floor. Or set in the courtyard hammocks and watch surfers from around the world.
Our beachfront estate consists of 5-6 individual and completely private beachfront apartments; they have full kitchens equipped with microwaves, stoves, toasters, coffee pots, etc. The apartments are set up for 4 guests but can accommodate 5 (if families) and the penthouse is set up for 6 but can accommodate 7. The penthouse consists of the entire top floor, has Spanish tile throughout, and has an A-Frame teak ceiling that doubles its overall feel. Each apt has a living room with a pullout futon, TV, ceiling fans and opens onto your own private balcony which overlooks/joins the beachfront courtyard and Sandy Beach. All the bedrooms have ACs and ceiling fans. Each apt is set up the same, 2 small beds in one bedroom and a large bed in the master along with a futon sofa in the living room. The penthouse has 4 small beds and a queen in the master and has 2 bathrooms but double the size of the regular 4 apts.
Pelican Point is located in the middle of Sandy beach and where everyone wants to be. There are only 4-5 rentals on Sandy beach and besides one home, everything else is a 'hotel-style' room with a bed, bath, and coffee pot. After taxes and fees, they are about the same price as we offer our full 2 bedroom apartments. There are only 18 beachfront locations on all of Sandy Beach (known as the Fun Coast) and even fewer beachfront rentals. When you book 4-5 guests in an apt, rates are as low as $40/Person/Night and a real bargain as we keep rates low. Rates range from $150 in low season (May, Aug-Sept) to $175/N (High Season) for the regular 4 apts and $250- $325/N for the penthouse, plus 7% PR taxes.
The northern beach (Sandy Beach) of Rincon is where the locals come to vacation so make sure you book early, as it's typically booked months in advance. PP is perfect for weddings, birthdays, special events, and even office parties. Don't be fooled by other rentals just saying they are beachfront in Rincon. These renters will end up traveling to Sandy Beach many times during their trip because it's where everyone wants to be. Watch all the action from your huge balcony or front a hammock in the courtyard. This is the biggest, nicest beachfront/courtyard rental on Sandy Beach, again there are only a few rentals on the beach in this area.
Restaurants: Tai, German, Italian, Topas, lots of seafood, and great local restaurants.
Activities: Horse-back tours along the beach, spectacular sunsets, rated 2nd best place for finding jewelry grade sea glass in the world, hiking, mountain biking, caves, deep-sea fishing, snorkeling, diving, and the best surf within 1,000 miles. Pelican Point hosted the 2010-2011 Rip Curl (top 100 pro-surfers) beach party during their world event; this was the only sanctioned Rincon event and what an honor!
We host lots of weddings that are held on the beach out front and typically the receptions are held in our beachfront, gated, and private courtyard for groups as large as 100. We also host business events, birthday parties, retreats, surf camps, or general celebrations which are held in the courtyard where huge BBQs are created on the large double BBQ-kitchen prep area. This is where most guests spend 85% of their awake hours, telling us they don't want to leave as they can see all of Sandy Beach, the nightlife, and everything happening from there. Often endangered Leatherback Turtles, the size of a VW bug-car nest step away. Watch the endangered Humpback Whales jump from the water while nursing their young from the comforts of your private balcony or in one of the lawn chairs/hammocks within the courtyard. This property is in a great location and has an amazing view. Lots of good places to eat either walking distance or short drive. The host was on top of it and everything was as expected. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Location, location, location… Springer has it nailed! On the beach with a pretty decent restaurant right next door! Close to the best surfing, snorkeling, water falls and horse back riding on the island… if you are looking for Hilton pampering, probably not for you… if you are looking for a great spot for sun & fun, this is it!

This place is has it all. I've stayed in just about every house on the beach in Rincon and this has been my favorite. Location to me is everything. The beach here is perfect for swimming and surfing. There are no rocks or coral to get hurt on. Tamboo is right next door for mid day snacks and drinks. We had dinner there a few times to watch the sunset. Big kahuna bar is across the street and has a small store underneath with everything you might need for a weekend at the beach. The host (Jim) was on site and was so kind. He is from the states and speaks perfect english. He helped us out with some charcoal to grill steaks for my birthday. He also let us borow his surf board for a day which was awesome! This will be my preffered spot in Rincon for sure.

The apt lacks maintenace and proper cleaning. The front door opens with much difficulty. It locks, but it is not secure. The floors were wet and slippery from the ocean spray coming from the opened balcony doors. The kitchen ceiling had two water leaks from the rain. The owner had motion sensored flood lights in all rooms, and it took us sometime to figure out how to turn these off. The couches and decorative cushions are old and had a bad odor from high levels of humidity. The beds, sheets and pillows were humid and had same bad humidity odor. The ceiling fans had a crust of dust build up.
Although the owner was pleasant and welcoming upon our arrival, he stopped responding to our requests for assistance or information regarding lights and kitchen utencils. The drinking glasses and available forks and knives needed washing before use.
We were suppose to stay for four nights, but due to a late flight into San Juan on Thursdsy, we arrived on the second day on Friday. We stayed only the one night and left Saturday by 10: a.m. Due to the unsatisfactorial conditions of the unit, we are requesting a refund for three nights, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The beach was gorgeous and the penthouse view of the beach was next level. Small caveats are that we mainlanders are spoiled by ac which is not available beyond the bedrooms. That took some acclimation. Additionally, wifi was hit or miss so we ended up tethering to our phones for any significant wifi needs. That said, it’s a gorgeous and relaxing way to spend some time. We don’t surf but enjoyed watching the locals do their thing and listening to the waves crash to shore day and night.

As far as Rincon goes, you can't beat Sandy Beach and this property is right in the middle of it just feet away from the water. The penthouse is rustic beach chic in all the right ways. The kitchen gave us a lot of flexibility w/ dining (esp w/ the kids) but there's also a nice charcoal grill/bbq area in the courtyard that we used a cpl of times for burgers and dogs and a surprising amount of dining options nearby. Courtyard
area is great for hanging out and there's an outdoor shower for rinsing off after hitting the beach. Jim- the owner- was great and went above and beyond. All in all, it's a great deal for what you're getting and the perfect place for a chill getaway/hideaway. We'll be back!

The penthouse was the perfect size and location for our family of 4. There are restaurants and surf rentals within walking distance, as well as a shop for basic supplies (ice, etc) The property is beautiful, the view looked just like the pictures and the other guests staying below us were quiet which made it peaceful at night. The beach out in front was not ever crowded and the sunsets were beautiful! We cooked on the charcoal grill outside which was fun. The penthouse was super clean, spotless actually, the cleaning staff is superb! The apartment itself could use a little update, the master bathroom sink knobs are broken, so no hot water in the sink, but the shower worked just fine. The a/c in the bedrooms was awesome, a saving grace because the rest of the apartment doesn't have a/c, so it was very toasty in the main living area, which again wasnt a huge deal because we were outside all day, but we all gatheredin the master at the end of the day just to get a break from the heat. I liked the location, easy to hit all of the main spots on our list!

We watched sunrise and many sunsets. Waking up to the beach, view and go for a swim just a few feet away was truly amazing. We stayed in the penthouse... would definitely stay there again. Restaurants and shops nearby...very convenient. El flamboyan restaurant has amazing food and drinks with amazing staff that made you feel at home.

Great location right on the beach with all the amenities needed for a peaceful and relaxing stay near Rincon. Property manager was extremely responsive and the beach was only steps away from the property. Make sure to take a walk along the beach to search for sea glass. A nice souvenir to take back with you.

Perfect location to relax and enjoy the beach. The view from the balcony was beautiful. Short drive into town where you can get groceries, eat, shop, etc. Would definitely stay here again.

We had auch a lovely time staying at Pelovan Point. Our view was atunning and sleeping to the qaves crashing was magical. We were in shory walking distamce to great food and drinks, we had everyrhing we needed and Jim was readily available to answer questions. Wr loved everything avout Rincon, especially the people and we ca t wait to come back and would gladly stay here again. It was jist the two of us but this place had plenty of room and sleeping accommodations for more :)

Wow and wow! My girlfriend, myself and two friends had just the best week in Rincon! Jim was a fabulous host got us anything we needed which wasn’t much because this place rocks. All you really need is to be there, the view does it all, the beach excellent, people great I can’t say enough except we’ll be back as soon as possible…and stay longer;). Air conditioning in the bedrooms was excellent. The courtyard had everything you need. Hammocks, lounge chairs, Adirondack chairs, outdoor kitchen? Covered seating for dining or visiting. Then there’s the beach. We visited many beaches in the area only to find so many of them with rocky conditions. This beach is true to its name…. Sandy Beach! You know it’s good when you have so many locals visiting! Last but not least was the attention Jim gave us. He was so prompt and thorough with his replies. Like we were the only people in the world. He gave us great directions, great food options, and responded to our every need. We look forward to visiting again. Hopefully soon!

We spent a week touring the island and after our stay in Rincon we wished we could have spent more time there. The property was perfect, suited my family well. Everything was clean and comfortable. The view was amazing, the beach was great and the amenities in the outdoor area were thoughtful and fun. Would definitely stay here again.

Pelican Point is amazing. It’s right on the beach. No need to take your own beach chairs they have them for you. The outdoor shower was very useful with the bar being next door. We would surf, quick rinse in the fresh water shower and straight to Tamboo bar. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We will be back soon. Also the bar closes at 9pm every night so it’s not loud. Across the street is a late night bar if you are looking for a good time beach vibe after 9pm.

We stayed in the Penthouse, which has a wall that opens up to the private balcony overlooking the ocean. It is totally magical! The water is breathtaking. This place is literally beach front. Jim is fantastic. We will be back absolutely.

A slice of paradise
Stayed for a long weekend with some friends in the penthouse. The property is spectacular, right in the middle of sand beach, and equipped with everything we could have wanted. Jim was an excellent host, offering great recommendations and making sure we wanted for nothing. Will definitely be looking him up next time I’m headed to Rincón. Cheers!
