If you are planning a family reunion with up to 18 people, Las Palapas is a dream come true! Just completed in 2007, this home is located on a one acre parcel with 200 feet of spectacular ocean frontage in one of the most beautiful coves in Mexico. All 7 bedrooms have baths and tremendous ocean and beach views. Impeccably decorated and comfortably furnished in an absolutely gorgeous setting. Maximum occupancy for meals and entertaining is 20.
There are tons of activities and our staff of four will make sure you have an incredible and memorable time. They will cook 3 meals a day and provide tasty appetizers and drinks. Labor included. Budget $35 per person per day extra for food, beverages, and alcohol. You wont have to lift a finger! The owners rent this home only 10 weeks per year.
Located in Marina Chacala, the cove is very calm for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and boating. You can easily rent a panga (30 foot fiberglass fishing boat with twin outboards ) for half day fishing, whale watching or surfing trips. They can pick you up just down the beach from the house. The property was great. Access to the ocean was as advertised. The AC could use some upgrades in the Master Bedroom. Otherwise it’s a great venue.

We had a marvelous stay at Las Palapas. It is a beautiful property in a spectacular location. There is a small, private beach right next to the property and a safe area for snorkeling right in front of the house. We were there for our 50th wedding anniversary with our whole family of 13, including 5 children. This fabulous place was perfect for all ages. The kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling equipment were fabulous to have and so easy to use. There are tennis courts and a pickle ball court nearby. Walking from the house in the Chacala Marina area is beautiful. The staff was exceptional -- lovely people and superb cooks. It was the most relaxing vacation we've ever had and we are so grateful to Bert for having created this marvelous place.

Las Palapas was an amazing home with helpful kind staff. Photos of the property looked great, but it is even better in person. Wonderful private spaces for sleeping and great large places to gather and to eat together. We had dinner in town one evening, but all other meals were prepared by Sandra and the rest of the staff--food was always delicious--better than eating out.
The staff kept the house spotless. Nidia, the house manager was always ready to help and answer any questions.
We did two boat trips with Juan, seeing humpback whales one day (amazing!!) and snorkeling another day which was also great.
Transportation to/from the airport, arranged through Juan was easy.
Chacala is at least 1 1/2 hours from Puerto Vallarta airport. It is a tiny town, so no night life or shopping--however, Las Palapas has all you need. The food, house and property, beach, swimming pool and hot tub were all great. Everyone in our group had wonderful time. Amazing indoor/outdoor living. As long as you don't need the hustle and bustle of town, you will love this place!

Just make sure to figure out exact check in - no way to leave bags at property early and there is a 1h time difference between airport and location, so when I organized to come a bit earlier (which they were flexible with!) I was an hour early on my estimate. Drivers were nice enough to stick around with out bags

Fantastic experience! Wonderful food, ideal location. Pool, hot tub steps from the rooms. Dine in the house or outside. Pickleball courts a short walk away. Small town just a few minutes walk, but you have all you need on the property. Highly recommended.

We were there with family including children. Beautiful property with so much to do including just hanging out by the pool. The food and staff were wonderful! Juan guided several fishing trips and we had great success! Highly recommend it for family or friend gatherings.

Las Palapas is an oasis and perfect setting for a relaxing vacation with family and dear friends. We were 11 in total, including a 2-year-old. Adult ages ranged from 35 to 73. Having the main house and 2 casitas, each with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, gave us the space to spread out if we needed private time, and community spaces to relax and party. The food was exceptional, and included breakfast, lunch, happy hour with drinks and appetizers, and dinner. Having the cleaning services every day, also made it more like a spa. Juan was available the entire time to drive us around, including to Sayulita and the airport, as well as taking us on his boat for snorkeling. All agreed that Las Palapas will be our go-to place in Mexico!

Las Palapas exceeded our expectations! As a family of 22 (and 12 were children) there was plenty to do and room for all! The staff was amazing! They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! Meals and appetizers were awesome. They even made sushi with the fish the boys caught that day! The home was clean. The pool is wonderful. Everyone enjoyed the beach even finding some hermit crabs. Overall it was a dream come true vacation! Thank you to all that made our stay full of lasting memories!

This was our second stay at this wonderful property. The beautiful setting and wonderful amenities made it perfect for our multigenerational family gathering. The shady palapa, the extensive yard, sandy volleyball court, pool, access to beach and ocean toys provided venues/activities everyone in the family. The food and accommodations were also first rate. We’ll definitely be back!

The pictures due not due it justice, it’s way nicer!! The staff was absolutely wonderful, and catered to all of our needs and then some. We had one child that is allergic to a lot of foods, and they prepared a special meal for him every time and we never had an issue; which is rare! We will definitely be back!

Fabulous compound
The staff is wonderful, food delicious, property perfect for 3 or 4 families. There are 2 bedrooms in each outside palapa and 3 in the main house. The only downside is the length of time it takes to get to the property. Traffic can be a problem, but once you get to the property it's a perfect place to stay. This should clear up by the end of 2022 as a new tollroad is being constructed.
We only went into the small town of Chacala once as we had everything we needed at the property. There were tons of games, a volleyball court, surfboards, paddle boards, a pool and a spa. There is also access to tennis and pickle ball courts and lots of paths for walking or running. It is very secure with guards vetting anyone entering the area. A few steps away the beautiful beach area has gentle waves and a dedicated area for swimming.
This would be the ideal place for a small family reunion or for friends to rent together as it has privacy at each palapa as well as a common area. The owner is quick to answer questions and the staff is amazing. Oh I forgot...the sunsets are perfect!

Great multi family vacation
Las Palapas has it all! It's safe, lots of room, a wonderful staff that make sure everything runs smoothly, and lots of games and toys. We had a group of 24, with some at a house down the road. Communication is best with the manager and staff, not the owner. He's less wonderful.

Beautiful Location and Really Nice Staff
All in all, this is a wonderful location if you want to just spend your time going from pool to beach and then back again. Very remote location with gorgeous scenery. We really loved the food that was prepared for us by Nydia and her very nice staff! The house is very nice but to be honest, could use a little TLC-nothing to ruin your vacation-this is just an fyi. The master ceiling leaked during a rain storm-we just adjusted the location of the bed. The air conditioners work well but do dump a lot of condensation on the floor-which can be a surprise in the night (my grandsons say) and make for a slippery floor. The jacuzzi is starting to show some wear and tear and the pool bar could use a new fridge. The cement floors are very slippery when wet-but the little ones learned quickly not to run! I am not trying to sound nit-picky; as a traveler I just like to be aware of this stuff to set my expectations correctly. Also, the traffic was really bad-which isn't anyone's fault-just a note. We had planned on visiting a few other places but after sitting in traffic for 2 hours on the way to Sayulita, changed our goals. It's not like swimming in the warm Pacific is a terrible choice!
So, Bert's house and location are awesome. Still 5 stars but with some minor issues. My family had a great time just hanging out and plenty of room to get away from each other when they wanted alone time.

I'm personally glad that we kept our group size to 12 and feel like adding two more people could have worked but any more than that and we'd be dancing around each other a bit too much, IMO. But I am not one for crowds which is a big part of why I loved this peaceful location.

My husband and I shared this wonderful house with our kids, their kids and some friends for 10 beautiful days of perfect sunsets, beach fires, perfect waves, and great food and service. This was our second visit to this property and hopefully not the last. We had originally secured 3 houses in this community for a big family reunion but so many of our family were scared or effected by covid that it didn't happen as we had planned, so maybe there will be another reunion planned in the future when people are not so scared to travel. If we can do this later, this will be the first place I will book, it just doesn't get any better than this!!! Thank you Nyadia and your staff for your great food, beautiful smiles, kindness and friendship. Thanks to Juan, our sweet boat captain and Taxi driver hero when our rental car broke down, he was always there for us when we needed him. Thank you Bert and family for sharing with us once again this magical place. Blessings to all of you!!!!

Heaven
This place is Heavenly, quiet, peaceful, beautiful, and I can't wait to return! I've already booked a return trip!! The staff is wonderful, and they were more like friends while they took great care of everything we needed. The sunsets and sunrise get more beautiful every day of the week. We drove into La Cruz to take a day of sailing and spotted Whales and Dolphins sever times during the day. We also took a small boat in Chacala out several days to explore the coast line, relaxing and beautiful. I can't say enough good things about this house, it was perfect!!

Dream vacation
We stayed at Las Palapas with a large group of family and friends. It was absolutely perfect. The staff is amazing. The property manager is local and very helpful. The amenities and house design couldn't get any better. We'll definitely be coming back.

Dream Vacation for our Extended Family
We recently returned from Las Palapas where our extended family (10 adults and 8 children) ranging in age from 3-70s stayed. The property and accommodations are exactly how pictured and were perfect for our large group. Unfortunately we had a few days of rain, but this didn't prevent us from enjoying our time. The pool and hot tub are well heated, and the large covered deck areas kept us dry while still being able to enjoy the outdoors. Las Palpas allows you to have the amenities of a resort, but with much more privacy. The staff are amazing and part of why the experience was so enjoyable. Who can complain about a fully stocked kitchen and private chefs! We also enjoyed the beauty of the gated community for safe walking and saw lots of wildlife (sea turtles, whales, crabs, sting rays, etc.) - a highlight for kids! We highly recommend this property and it's worth the trip to get there!

2nd trip to las Palapas
We came to Las Palapas, for a family Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful week. We played volleyball, pool volley ball, kayaked, SUP , did puzzles, played jenga, watched football, went swimming in the ocean, drank ate. We had a mini Olympics and great family bonding time.

Best vacation ever
We spent the week at Las Palapas celebrating a 40th Wedding Anniversary with a dozen friends and family memebers. Every person said what an amazing vacation it was, some said their best vacation ever! Paul, Nydia and the entire staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating. Everyone is over the top nice and the food is absolutely delicious. You cannot find a vacation spot this luxurious and beautiful anywhere else in the world.
