M&M Dune Cottage is a vintage, 1930's Sheridan Beach original. So, if you're looking for a place with character and can live with all of the rough edges that come with staying in a 80+ year old cottage built on sand, we're the perfect choice for your fun in the sun!

Important Note:
Like all area cottages, M&M Dune Cottage is separated from the lake by a naturally created, government protected dune. The pathways over the dune are marked & continually managed to keep their heights as low as possible. Last season, there were ‘easy walk’ board-walk mats placed out on two of the three beach paths adjacent to the cottage. There's a flat boardwalk in Washington Park.
Please remember to read all beach cautions (especially about riptides) and supervise children. Thank you!

• We’ve extended the work hours of our 5 Star Housekeeping team to provide the additional time necessary to perform enhanced cleaning procedures.
• We use ‘Hospital Grade’ disinfectant solutions.

• You’ll receive a large quantity of ‘Hospital Grade’ disinfectant wipes your use on hard surfaces at the cottage.

This cottage is perfect for families / friends who want to enjoy the beach! Plenty of space for our group of 6, comfortable bedrooms and living space, 2 bathrooms, an awesome kitchen, and space outside for drying towels and swimsuits to head back to the beach the next day. Just walk over the dune to be on the beach - no roads to cross or parking hassles. Easy! I contacted the owner once to ask a silly question during our stay and the response was immediate. Outstanding communication throughout. Would recommend!!

Vintage Beachside Cottage was a delight! We loved our time there, mere steps from Lake Michigan. The bedside lamps in one of the bedrooms were not working, and Brian ordered and had delivered the next day a remote that was needed to operate them. Then they worked perfectly. The well-maintained, heart pine (I suspect from the age of the cottage) wood floors felt so good under our feet. Loved all the windows that let in so much natural light and the shaded patio where we relaxed and were able to eat. We would stay again.

This charming bungalow is exactly as described ! We enjoyed our stay & Brian was available to answer any questions that came up during our visit. Lake Michigan is always amazing - this home made our time there even better.

The hosts were amazing to work with and had great communication. The cottage was beautiful and so close to the beach. It had everything you need for a perfect beach getaway! Planning on coming back next summer!

This place is a little vintage which made it perfect for a place by the beach. My family has been staying up here for over 40 years. Our first time at this location and it was so nostalgic, an aged cottage with the perfect amount of space and all the supplies we needed. Brian shared so much information that allowed our stay to match all of our other amazing visits to the East side of Lake Michigan. 10/10 would stay here again!!

We had a great stay at this vintage cottage. The property was exactly as described and at a great location. The cottage was a short walk over the dune to the beach. It had everything we needed for a short stay on beach. Dunebillies never disappoints for breakfast and Shoreline Brewery for beers and dinnner was great!

Great location next to wonderful beach. Reasonable amenities were included in a much smaller than expected "vintage" house. Four bedrooms that were squeezed in were at the expense of closets and a washer and dryer.

This was an older cottage but really loved it! It was clean and had just about anything you could want available to you. Plenty of room for 8 people and Lake Michigan beach just a short walk away!

House is perfectly located if you want to spend your time on the beach, but is also comfortable enough to spend a rainy day in it. 4 bedrooms, 2 baths. Kitchen is nicely sized with counter space and a full-size fridge. Living area has a comfy couch and dining room table. Front porch has table and chairs along with space to drop your beach chairs and coolers. I'd recommend walking the short block down to the more public beach access, as the plastic handicap accessible walkway is easier to walk up when carrying coolers and chairs. Beach was great. We would definitely rent again.

Girlfriend reunion. Loved the location and the beach access. Walked to Washington Park, visited the outlet mall when it rained, beautiful sunsets every night.

Hidden Gem
Loved our stay at this cute beach cottage! Tucked away in a quiet spot on a sandy path to the beach, we walked to the beach every day and really appreciated the beach chairs. The cozy front patio was perfect for morning coffee, reading and playing cards. In the evening we were just minutes away from great restaurants for dinner. Owners were great to work with and very responsive.

Family 4th celebration
The location is great and we had plenty of room to spread out. getting over the dune to the beach was a little hard on our seniors, but they manages. We brought bikes so getting to the pier and other locations was very easy. Parking got a hectic because it was a holiday but nothing terrible.

We had a great time staying here. The owner was amazing, and very helpful with information on what to do in the area. We enjoyed the cottage and even used the kayaks that were available. So much fun and clean.

We absolutely loved this cottage! Enough room for all of us, and the outdoor space at night was enchanting.
The proximity to the beach can’t be beat! Close enough for the kids (7-14) to head back on their own if they wanted lunch.

Lovely beach cottage for a perfect getaway!
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this beach cottage! It was the perfect fit for our group of 8 (4 adults, 4 children- ages 8-11). It is practically on the beach. The walk to the beach is over a pretty large dune, which may be difficult for people with mobility issues. The house was well stocked with beach gear (we loved the kayak and boogie boards!) & kitchen necessities. The area was quiet & peaceful at night. It was a rejuvenating and relaxing stay. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us!

Family friendly house and neighborhood
The house is perfect for a long weekend with the family. It’s a very short walk to the beach. It’s quiet and provided a great escape for our trip. Lots games provided for the kids to play at night and a great porch set up for the parents. Highly recommend for a family with little kids

Such a cute cottage!
Loved the location of the property. Needed to ask the owners a couple of questions on first day and got an immediate response. Also was allowed early check in which is always great. Wifi was spotty but was able to keep ourselves busy, so didn't notice too much.

First Family Vacation in Several Years
The property was a short walk away from the beach and provided the visitors with many of the necessities we needed. The inside was updated and comfortable. However, the people who stayed prior to us did not follow the check out rules and we had several “chores” to clean up after them. There was no internet and no access to the television which left us with videos. Considering the weather was not cooperating most of the time, that was an issue. I tried reaching out to the contact number with a question with no response. I ended up cleaning the house before we could comfortably stay and spent over an hour cleaning before we left a day early so the next tenants did not have to be welcomed with what we did.

Great Location
You cannot beat the location of this property! Overall, we enjoyed our stay. However, the house could benefit from some updating. Adding a mirror to the master bedroom, a place to put dirty towels (No washer and dryer), and a working hose to be able to clean sand off before entering would make it better.

Trip down memory lane
Used to live in MC and traveled back to visit family and friends. Had a great time at the beach and at local restaurants. House was cute and clean and accommodated six adults, two children and our dog just fine. We will be back.

Great beach cottage, well stocked too
We picked this house because of its close proximity to Sheridan Beach - there aren't many properties closer, though visitors should be aware that it's still a bit of a walk over the dune to get to the water (bring a wagon, if you have one, to schlep your stuff to the beach). There were great beach chairs and sit-on-top kayaks available for use. House was very comfortable and well stocked with consumables (TP, trash bags, paper towels, etc.) Kitchen seemed well equipped, though we didn't do a ton of cooking. WiFi worked well. It was very quiet because it wasn't on the road (I think a lot of other properties in the vicinity could suffer from road noise). I would be leery of staying here during the high season because it doesn't have a dedicated parking space. We did not have any problem parking during the weekend after Labor Day. Brian was super accommodating, allowing us a very early check-in and a very late check-out because it was out of the peak summer season.

Location location location.....
My family (2 adults, 2 children - ages 7 and 9) spent 10 days in this lovely cottage. It is not fancy, but it has everything a family needs -- central A/C, kayaks, life jackets, floats, beach chairs, comfy furniture, beach games, indoor games, towels, and cleaning supplies. The front porch hosted us and our extended family for many meals, and we just loved our al fresco dinners. The house's location ON the access path to the beach makes the house worth every penny. So, if your family is on the beach and someone needs the restroom or a soda, it is a 2 minute walk back to the house. The beach itself is gorgeous. It gets quite crowded on Saturdays and Sunday, but the rest of the week is calm, spacious, and FUN. My kids had the best time. They fell asleep exhausted every night. We love this cottage. It really was just perfect. Thank you Brian!

Just what we needed
Even though Covid cut our trip a day short, we were grateful to still have a short visit. The house is very clean inside and a nice job maximizing space in a smaller footprint and the proximity to the beach is wonderful. I enjoyed running through the neighborhood as well. The exterior of the house could use a little love. We had four adults and four teens and did just fine here. One suggestion would be to make sure those S and P shakers in the cupboard are filled. But good supply of cookware, dishes and utensils were very appreciated! We arrived to empty shakers and an empty can of cooking spray. Interior LR, bathrooms and bedrooms were nicely done and up to date. Would definitely return when COVID isn't closing beaches. Owner Brian was very kind and checked in with us after arrival.

The feel of a treehouse near the beach
We enjoyed a change of pace here with a small group. The home had a nicely decorated and comfortable living room, well equipped kitchen and shade if surrounding trees made us feel out of the way in the fairly busy beach community. Multiple access places to a nice beach was great.

July 4 th vacation Sheridan beach
The cottage is very pretty and well maintained. We went to Sheridan beach for the 4th of July weekend . With COVID-19 scare the owners made sure the cottage was sanitized and was empty for 48 hours before our stay. They also provided the sanitizers and disinfectant wipes. The kids enjoyed the place and also the small kayak . They had life jackets in all sizes which was great . This being a pet friendly place our dog also had a great time ...Overall we enjoyed the place without being worried about the pandemic
