About this house rental
This Lake House features a delightful open floor plan and modern design with direct access to water from the backyard. Perfect for swimming, fishing and enjoying sunsets.
Included: Awesome work-from-home setup with dual monitors, universal docking station, keyboard and mouse, so you can spend as much time out of the office as possible.
The community offers a number of amenities including a pool, beaches, golfing and more! If none of those strike your fancy, our favorite winery is 5 min away.
This spacious home is located in a quiet cove and offers a wonderful place to swim, fish, watch sunsets, hangout and relax.
The main level features an open living area with lots of natural light. The kitchen features marble counter tops, new appliances, and flooring throughout. Tucked in the corner is a work-from-home setup with dual monitors, a universal docking station complete with keyboard and mouse.
Both the upstairs and downstairs have smart TVs and couches for optimal vegging out.
The beautiful view can be seen from the bright and airy master bedroom upstairs with a queen size bed. The attached master bath has an extra large shower, with his and hers sinks.
The first bedroom downstairs has 2 twin size beds, the 2nd has one full size bed, and the large laundry room includes an extra twin size bed. There is a small but full bathroom for the downstairs guests to use and a half bath in between floors for easy access by both floors.
Facing the waterfront facing is a nice size porch with a gas grill for quick and delicious meals anytime! *Don't forget to click the tongs twice ;)
Evenings are best enjoyed watching the sunset on the dock or strolling the tree lined streets of the neighborhood.
You will need to come to the front gate where the guard shack is. There is a back gate but you will not be able to enter it. To drive around to the front from the back gate takes 30 min, so it is best to avoid this. All spaces are accessible to guests, except for the garage.
The speed limit is 25 mph on the main road and 15 mph on the side roads. Because there are so often people walking around the neighborhood, they're pretty strict on this and will ticket you, so watch out!

The house was very clean and functional with good, useful spaces. Waterfront was okay, though the bottom near the shore was mucky - wear swim shoes (which you should in any lake). Could use water stairs. Community was nice as were all the people we encountered. The clubhouse restaurant was very nice. The golf course bar was pleasant. Very near supermarket and Walmart. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Stayed here with friends and our dogs, the property is clean and updated, neighbors are very friendly. The beds need to be upgraded, both mattresses are very thin and the beds are small. Overall, great stay!

Loved the property! House was perfectly located right on the lake. We had all the amenities we needed. Rooms were very nice and spacious. Appliances updated. Would love to stay there again.

The location is lovely. The house requires some attention to details. Of the (4) outside lights on the front of the house, only (1) worked. And it was only (1) by the garage vs. the front door. There was no ironing board - though it listed it as being there. The iron leaked and could not be used. There were (3) under cabinet lights in the kitchen but only (1) worked. Back porch only had (1) light working. The ice maker had Very old (solid) block of ice. I dumped it and started over. The refrigerator water filter needed to be changed. The bed and area rug were pushed way off of center and had the rug messed up. I have pictures if needed. Overall, I'd say the maintenance and attention to details was lacking. A bed in the laundry room? Seems odd. This was my first VRBO Not impressed.

The location was great. The kayaks were fun and the neighborhood is amazing.The house COULD be a great place. Some issues were; not enough kitchenware for guests, stained towels, filthy wall in kitchen, outdoor light bulbs out, filthy outdoor chairs, patio and deck, only one bench at the dock to sit on, garage door can open manually only and does not lock (The property manager tried to say the garage was not an amenity, but the kayaks were in the garage and they were. Plus the safety of a non locking door), dirty floors, gutters and landscaping need lots of cleanup and weed whacking, and no toilet paper holder in the half bath. We still made the best of it! Just disappointed after spending so much for such a short stay!

Very nice house for a quiet getaway. Gated community gave a nice sense of safety and everyone we encountered when out walking was super friendly. Greatly appreciated this property welcomes pets.

My family really enjoyed our week. The house was the perfect size and had everything we needed. The lake is just steps from the back door. My kids really enjoyed just hanging out in the lake. Definitely would recommend this place and would go back again.

The grill was greasy and needs a thorough cleaning.
The owner said we could use the kayaks but there were only two complete paddles for the four kayaks. Had we known we would have brought our own. The setting is very nice. We enjoyed the house and the lake and would consider coming back.

This property was exactly as listed with all the amenities included to enjoy a week on the lake. The location was perfect as we could paddle out and watch the sunsets and even paddle to the beach! The host was very easy to contact with questions and the house was very clean welcoming.
It was nice to be located near the front gate so grocery runs were quick and efficient.
We are a family of 6 plus 1 pup and we felt we had plenty of room to spread out.
We will certainly visit again and highly recommend

Perfect little lake front property with all the amenities. Great location with plenty of restaurant choices. Short drive to battlefields with an hour plus drive to Luray Caverns or Washington DC. The gated community is very walkable and pet friendly. Sara was an excellent host and was readily available for any questions.

We stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday. It is a wonderful house with all the amenities. The lake views are a bonus and created such a warm and cozy stay. Highly recommend this property.

We had a very nice time at Lake of the Woods. The house was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the views from the deck and dock. We also ate on the deck at the clubhouse which was wonderful. And had a great time golfing at the beautiful golf course.

We needed a long term stay and Sara was nothing short of amazing. We relocated to VA in Jan.2022. We needed a flexible landlord understanding we were looking to buy a house so extending might be needed. She was so kind and accommodating.
We had our two dogs with us as well, which wasn’t an issue.
The house was just lovely. Clean, beautiful view, nice neighbors and great area. General shopping minutes away and historic Fred just 20-25 minutes away for dinner dates and shopping. We grew quite attached to this house during our 2 month stay and enjoyed the frequent visit from that cove’s Swan resident.
We are looking forward to spending a weekend getaway soon.

Very nicely decorated house with direct access to a private dock. Perfect layout for a family with 2-4 kids. We had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed the kayaks!

We will stay again! The only complaint is a few cobwebs inside and many outside on lights, windows, deck and outdoor furniture. I wanted to clean myself but husband said no, we are on vacation. We did clean up the yard because it was a trip hazard and we spent much of our time out doors.

my family and i stayed here for a week with our dogs and it was lovely. the house was clean and accommodating to our needs. the lake was very enjoyable, though we soon felt there wasnt much to do in the area. there were four kayaks provided which we enjoyed, however there was no row boat or paddleboard provided as listed. we were unable to open the garage door and the backyard was a bit overgrown, but aside from this i really loved staying in the house. i would recommend this home for a family vacation.

This was our first time to Lake of the Woods and we definitely plan on coming back and staying here! From small details like outlet covers to the cleanliness and friendliness of the host, we couldn't rave about this property more. What a great weekend escape!

The house is located on a quiet street, beautiful view of the lake. Easy check in, house has many nice upgrades although the cleanliness was questionable. Air filters were not maintained, very dirty that we ended up purchasing new ones and changing them ourselves. Spiders and cob webs in every room was a little annoying. Not a ton of supplies provided but Walmart is super close by to get whatever you need for your stay.
*** All that said, we had a wonderful stay with our family (4 adults, 2 year old boy and our two pups.) Definitely a bonus to have the ability to bring the dogs. We grilled at night, kayaked during the day and took our son to the cute little beach walking distance from the house. We enjoyed Mornings and evening walks on the quiet street with the dogs. Mornings were also lovely overlooking the lake with a cup of coffee. Overall it was perfect, minus some of the things mentioned above. Sara was very pleasant to deal with, and very responsive. I would recommend staying here and we will absolutely be back again soon!

Lovely house, waterfront was not particularly user friendly but we used LOW big beach, would have liked a map of the lake in order to find beaches, pool, restaurant. Several light bulbs were missing and there was no Keurig as advertised. Had a good 6 days.

This is a very comfortable home on the lakefront. Amenities were as advertised, and a super comfortable bed in the master bedroom was a bonus! Nice quiet neighborhood, good place to have a stroll in the mornings and evenings.

The host even made family friendly recommendations for us to try out and we had a great time at Wilderness Run Brewery + Vineyard. It was the perfect place to get away and relax, even on a rainy weekend! We hope to return when the sun is shining!

We were two couples and two 4 yo boys. We had a lovely time on the water kayaking and swimming off the dock. The neighborhood is lovely, safe and clean. The grocery store was really close. We were an hour away from any sort of hiking that we wanted to do which was difficult to plan but the water kept us occupied for the day we were there!
Kelly was very friendly and easy to get in touch with. The house was clean and had just about everything we needed. We would certainly stay again!
