This apartment is ideally located in the heart of magnificent colonial Cartagena, which is a very safe area. It's a stone-throw from the 16th century cathedral and also where Sir Francis Drake lived when he captured the city.
Within walking distance: fine restaurants, museums, churches, the beautiful streets of Cartagena, and its fortifications. A bit further out, requiring a taxi ride, the spectacular San Felipe fort and La Popa mountain-top monastery.
The apartment itself is well appointed and decorated, ideal for two couples. The building has a lap pool at street level as well as a roof-top sunning and lounging area. It has a doorman at all times.
The cleaning lady can be hired to cook lunch and clean the apartment, make beds, etc.
If you are looking for a day at the beach in the islands, we can help arrange private boat rentals to take you to Tierra Bomba or Rosario Islands. This is a good way to visit different beaches and spend the day or the afternoon in a Beach Club.

We could not have been more pleased with this charming apartment in Cartagena from the original art to the stunning view from the balcony, comfortable beds, air conditioned bedrooms and the ground floor pool. It was delightful. We stayed mid-January to mid-March with temps between 85 and 90 degrees and high humidity. Multiple ceiling fans and and open layout with balmy breezes was a daily plus.
Our host Marta could not have been more welcoming, responsive and accommodating. She is a delightful person. Aydee and Victor our two on-site support staff were there when we needed them and very accepting of our minimal Spanish. We stayed for two months and were sad to leave. Thank you for our outstanding Cartagena experience.

Location is excellent. Ideal for exploring city center on foot. Apartment in rear of building with view was quieter than street side. Main building provided 24 hour security with courteous doorman. However, some doors and windows in apartment could not be properly secured.
Some amenities not working or not usable as advertised in listing. Property manager very responsive to problems that maintenance man could repair. Maintenance man provided excellent service when he could.
Overall, apartment while old, has colonial city charm. While clean, food and some out of date items from previous tenants should have been removed.

This apartment was perfect! The location was close to everything in the middle of the walled city. The apartment had everything we needed. The pool was great after a day of exploring. The views were incredible! Couldn’t possibly have been happier! Highly recommend

This is a pleasant apartment, and the location couldn’t be better, but the management was really unresponsive and bad. Unfortunately, I was not communicating with the owner, who is apparently unwell, but with someone else.
Problems started when I tried to book. I got an automated message authorizing it right away, but I had some questions. These took days to answer. Then I tried to book using the email I was sent, but maybe because so much time had passed, it double booked me and locked me out. I sent repeated messages to the owner to fix it, and called vrbo, who called them with no response. This took at least another day to resolve.
We were sent an address, but no instructions as to where it is located. Apparently there are names as well as numbers for streets, and things are generally identified by landmarks. We arrived around 1 a.m. and the taxi driver couldn’t find the place. We drove around and around for more than half an hour looking and trying to call the owner. The manager finally answered and said it was on the Plaza Bolivar, a main plaza. We had to pay the taxi extra because of failure to send any kind of directions,

Great location, incredible views, friendly and helpful doorpeople and housekeeper. Airy rooms with interesting art and a/c in bedrooms. Lap pool. Kitchen could be updated, but was totally functional. All in all, a great place to stay!

Cosy apartment in the heart of the historic district
Very nice apartment centrally located in the heart of the old city. Just step out the front door and it’s all there. Nicely decorated, and fully equipped. Safe and secure. Carlos, one of the doormen was very helpful throughout our stay. First time in Cartagena and Colombia and we will definitely be back again.

Gorgeous apartment in perfect location
Highly recommend this property. Beautifully furnished and right in the centre of old town but amazing quiet facing the back. We loved the terrace and the pool was perfect to cool off.

Beautiful Spot in the Heart of the Old City
Jaime's apartment was the perfect base for our explorations of Cartagena. Check-in was via the building's door man, Carlos. The bedrooms are air conditions, which was a welcome relief each night from the heat of Cartagena. Amenities in the building were also excellent. Would stay again!

First time in Cartagena
Jaime's apartment is beautiful, and the real gem of this place is the rooftop. It has one of the best views in all of Cartagena. Staying at Jaime's apartment was a great experience. The only problem for us was that the Wifi never worked. Other than that, we had a great stay and loved the apartment.

Great location
This apartment is in a great location in old town Cartagena. It is right on the plaza bolivar, but is very quiet. We are a couple with two teenagers and they loved having their own room and using the pool. Would highly recommend this apartment

¡Perfecto! Perfect apartment - Perfect location!
From my first contact with questions for the owner all the way through our correspondence while staying in his apartment, Jaime was responsive & helpful. This apartment is beautiful! The building is in a great location. There’s a 24 hour mini mart nearby with everything you might need, though other grocers have more selection & better prices. Since most of the apartments in the building are inhabited by locals, it’s easy to feel like you’re part of the local neighborhood very quickly. The 3 people at the front desk who rotate as doormen (door-woman) are very sweet and helpful, as is Aydee who comes to tidy up 6 days/week. Plaza Bolivar is close to everything, but feels a little more tranquil than other locations. It’s really the best of everything. There are enough vendors to keep you supplied with fruit, coffee & snacks, in addition to some good restaurants nearby. But most of the people hanging out in the plaza are local, so it feels less touristy. Skip the coffee next door at Juan Valdez & support one of the men selling equally delicious coffee in the plaza. It’s peaceful, but just on the other side of the Plaza are the Cathedral, many vendors & a quick walk to everything – including the clock tower plaza, one of the main gateways into the walled city. My companion was perfectly comfortable with A/C only in the bedrooms, but for me, it was hot in the main area. This would be my only complaint – however, the apartment’s open air floor plan is what really makes it special and I can’t imagine ever having the terrace doors closed (I’m not sure there are doors, now that I think about it!). Whether sitting in the main room or actually out on the terrace, the view & feel of the apartment are stunning! I just left and already want to return to Cartagena …. and cannot imagine staying anywhere else. This apartment is wonderful!

Comfortable and central
The apartment is spacious and easy to live in. We spent most of our time here enjoying the terrace and the view from it. The pictures tell the story. The pool is lovely, and a welcome place to cool off after walking the busy streets of Cartagena. Grocery stores are nearby. However, there is no end to good restaurants! You are in the middle of everything here. Don’t expect peace and quiet.

Location and View
The location of this beautiful apartment is perfect for exploring Cartagena. We walked all over the city and never had a problem. The balcony has a beautiful view of flowers and an old church. We never got tired of looking out as we sat there every evening. The apartment was perfect for two couples. The owner was easy to communicate throughout. There is a lady that can come everyday to clean up and do laundry except for Sunday and holidays.

Hands down Best Place to stay in Catagena!!
I can not recommend this apartment strongly enough! We spent every sunset and sunrise up on the roof. It is one of highest points in the city with a 360degree view. Inside it feels like home but with so much art and character. Steps out the door and you are in the best museums and restaurants. Thank you Jaimie for your extensive collection of history books on the city and the 11 pages of prepatory advice and recommendations. A truly class act with age, art, and character! Do not miss eating at Mila or Olano!!!

Good not perfect
The apartment is beautiful and tasteful. There is a cleaning person and apartment caretaker who is wonderful and sweet and requires only a reasonable tip. The apartment is well situated and has everything u could need. Unfortunately the beds are very hard and uncomfortable and there is a smell of mildew in the apartment...

What a charming city and apartment.
This property is ideal for a stay in the ancient city. From 10:00 p.m. it is quiet with only the beautiful view of San Pedro to enjoy if you care to take in the evening breeze on the private balcony. We enjoyed having our own bedroom and bath, bedrooms are air conditioned, plenty of warm water new soap, lots of towels in the linen along with beach towels and more bedding. DO bring your own wash clothes. The kitchen is well supplied, dishes, glass ware and flat ware. Lots of books on Cartagena. The location is very good, right in the middle of all the local action. Wonderful food everywhere. the woman who comes in daily is very sweet and willing to be of help. A great coffee shop right next door. We will hopefully return and stay in this apartment.

Love in the Time of Cartagena
Staying at Jaime's apartment was magical--you are living outdoors, with the beautiful balcony and all the windows. Though it was hot and humid in Cartagena, we never used the air conditioning. The temperatures cooled at night and there was always a breeze. The apartment has tile floors throughout and ceiling fans in every room to move the air.
The apartment is located on Plaza Bolivar, the prettiest plaza in the city. Each morning, I got a cup of coffee and sat in the plaza and watched the city come to life. At night, the plaza bursts into activity with music and dancing. The apartment itself is a perfect location in the building, with the balcony facing the side of the building away from the noise of the plaza.
Both bedrooms were very pretty and each had its own full bath with a large shower. The building has a doorperson 24 hours a day and is totally safe.
Don't miss watching the sunset from the rooftop of the building. In one direction you see the steeple of the cathedral. In the other direction, you see the surreal spectacle of the high rises of Bocagrande. The sun sets over the Caribbean and the skies turn dusty pink as the lights of the city come up. You may feel you're living in a Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel.

Great location
This apartment makes a good home base for a trip in Cartagena. The location couldn’t get any better. The owner is very responsive. There is a cleaning service while there and a 24x7 security guard/doorman so it feels very safe. The main living area and kitchen can definitely be warm but the bedrooms are air conditioned so they are cool for sleeping. The apartment doesn’t have a luxurious feel inside but it includes most everything you’d need. The hammock on the balcony was very relaxing. The rooms were quite enough, although the birds can be loud in the morning. The internet is slow but worked well enough for emailing and web surfing. The showers worked well. We had a family of 2 adults and 2 children. We used the swimming pool as well. Overall I would definitely recommend this place.

A charming apartment in the heart of the walled city, perfect for exploring the magic of Cartagena
I have visited Cartagena many times, always wanting to come back to enjoy the magic of this special city. This visit is one of my favorite thanks to our stay at this charming apartment, located right in the middle of the walled city. The place is very nicely appointed with interesting art and everything you need for a lovely stay. Both rooms are comfortable with air conditioning and en suite bathrooms. You will find lots of reference books on the history and architecture of this amazing city. Aydé, the housekeeper, is very, very kind; it is a real treat to find everything clean and organized when you come back from exploring the city. There is a small pool in the ground floor, perfect for relaxing after a warm day. But my favorite place must have been the lanai with its hammock and lovely view of the San Pedro Claver Church (do not miss visiting this church's courtyard, pure magic). The apartment is also located near the small but beautiful Museo del Oro, the Palacio de la Inquisición and plenty of delicious restaurants, cafés and bars. The owners have put together a very useful list of recommendations.

It is a beautiful home with a great view.
This place has lots of character and great art, as you would hope to find in the old town. The location is great, walking distance to almost everything. The concierge were a great help and very friendly. The pool was a refreshing dip on hot afternoon, and the patio was perfect for sipping wine and enjoying the evening.
Jaime was prompt answering our emails and was very helpful.
All in all, I would definitely stay here again.

Great rental, with a great view, you will find yourself staying out on the lanai most of the time. We truly enjoyed our time staying at the apartment. Everything worked properly, its very clean, comfortable, has everything you need, the staff down stairs is always pleasant, the building is very secure. Make sure you make it up to the roof deck, there is a perfect 360 view of the old city, the location is great.
I highly recommend the restaurants at the Santa Clara Hotel, have breakfast at the main restaurant, there is a pair of wonderful Tucans, that come to your table, besides the food is incredible, the breads are amazing. There are many wonderful boutique hotels around, you can go in for cocktails or a bite to eat.

All four of us were truly delighted with your Cartagena apartment. It was beautifully and very tastefully furnished, the artwork was unexpected and much appreciated, and the patio and hammock were just wonderful. We also made much use of the many books about Cartagena, its history and its architecture, as well as your helpful memo on shopping, eating, etc.
When we went up to the rooftop patio, we couldn't belive how unique this feature is as we looked around the old city; there appeared to be no other like it, except for one on about the same level that belongs to a nearby hotel. We felt like we were the only people in the whole city living in a private residence with the comprehensive 360 degree views of Cartagena that your rooftop provides.
I thank you for your generosity in making your apartment available to us for our visit. We have travelled to many beautiful places around the world, but our Cartagena experience was one the very best.

The apartment is located in a central location of old Cartagena. It is safe, comfortable and welcoming. The apartment is fully furnished and has its own charm. There are books to read to get familiar with the city and history. I laid on the hammock and read a lot of books about Colombia history..and had a site of the Cathedral of San Pedro in front of me. I stayed in the apartment alone the first night and felt safe. The best part of it is the charm. There is a kitchen with everything available and very useful. There is supermarket a few blocks away.

It did rain a few times and the balcony got flooded the last day.
The only thing I did not take advantage is the roof top because I forgot it had it..i do regret it because the site is amazing.
The apartment is nicer in person..we loved it!! I don't have any complaints only construction noise from an upstairs apartment being repaired and birds outside humming at night..
Also, the security is great and friendly!

We highly recommend staying in this apartment. It is located in a beautiful square, accessible to everything Cartagena has to offer. The staff for the building and apartment were extremely accommodating and trustworthy! The apartment was spacious enough for 4 adults and 2 children - we loved the hammocks, rocking chairs, and personal touches such as the artwork. Also, we were delighted to find board games and puzzles in the closet. Having laundry machines made life easier for all of us (no packing up the dirty clothes to clean at home). This was so much better than staying in the crowded and somewhat dirty hotel strip of Boca Grande; we left having a very authentic experience. We will always stay here when we come to Cartagena!

We spent a lovely relaxing week in this cool, airy, beautifully decorated apartment right in the historic centre of Cartagena. The terrace is perfect for the hot afternoons and the roof terrace has one of the best views of the city/sunset as it is just a little higher than other buildings around. The apartment is kitted out with everything you might need and the owners even have the fridge stocked as well as coffee etc...so you needn't go shopping the day you arrive, just replace everything before you go. The photos on this website don't really "get" the decor which is a tasteful mix of antique furniture and modern amenities. All in all we'd recommend it highly if you're planning a trip to the wonderful city of Cartagena.

This apartment was the perfect location for exploring the old city of Cartagena. It is comfortably furnished, very clean and includes a wonderful art collection. The charming parque Bolivar is just outside the front door. The apartment is located at the rear of the building (a former hotel) and was very quiet. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace that has a beautiful view of the San Pedro Claver church. The city was very hot during our visit in mid-March. While there is a breeze during the day, the evenings were still and quite warm so we would suggest using the air conditioning in the bedroom. We cannot imagine a nicer place to stay and would definitely recommend this lovely apartment. Being able to use it made our stay in Cartagena very memorable and we would hope to visit again.
