About this farm stay rental
Our Denton County country guest house which is located in the heart of the DFW Metroplex…approximately 40 miles northwest of downtown Dallas, 40 miles northeast of downtown Fort Worth and 60 miles from Arlington.
The restored Texas log farmhouse is nestled amongst gorgeous 100+ year old live Oaks trees. Think of a rustic but cozy and elegant Colorado lodge. There are spectacular views with some pitch and roll offering the true beauty of this impressive countryside. Have fun watching the horses graze, deer feeding at dawn and all the wonderful bird species that come our way. Located on 22 acres down a secluded country road.
Enjoy the beauty of a clear Texas night before bed and a fresh cup of coffee or tea on one of the two large porches, complete with rockers, while you watch our magnificent Texas sunrises and sunsets to relax your body and soul. Watch the horses graze, the chickens hunt for bugs...we sometimes have deer and wild turkey come up to the house. Also take time to sit by the pool while sipping on your favorite beverage, or enjoy the wood burning fireplace inside!
The house has seven bedrooms, 4 baths. Downstairs is the master bedroom with queen bed, master bath with double sinks off the bedroom. The other bedroom downstairs has twin beds with a bathroom off the side. There is a family room with a flat screen TV, DVD player, wood burning fire place, fully stocked kitchen and small dry bar. The glassed in back porch shares the wood burning fire place with the family room and has a sitting area and dining table.
Upstairs are five bedrooms (two with queen bed, two with double beds and one with double bunk beds) and two baths. Please note that the log cabin design provides for an open concept and the upstairs bedrooms do not have doors. There are privacy screens available to shut off the bedrooms from the hallway.
Outside you will find porches all along the front and back of the house with ceiling fans and either rocking or Adirondack chairs. you will have access to a fenced private pool with plenty of area to lounge and a fire pit in the pool area. New for 2020/2021 we have put a heater on the pool!! The pool will now be open 12 months out of the year. Imagine sitting around the fire pit with a hot toddy and maybe some s'mores while the children swim in the middle of the winter!!! There is a charge to cover the propane cost if your group elects to use the pool.
This is a working horse breeding facility. You will see the trainers and barn workers busy with the horses. We ask guests to not visit the barn or pet the horses unless an employee of Los Arboles is available to be with the guest. But, if you and your guests would like a tour of the barn...just notify us. If we are available we would love to show off our barn and horses. We typically have one to three baby horses (foals) born per year and they are adorable. In the spring and summer we incubate and hatch chicken eggs. Come see!!
Note, to protect our property and horses we have two security cameras. One on the front porch that faces out to the front pasture and the parking area. The other camera is on the front of the barn and views the drive, the lawn between the chicken house and the west side of the house.
This property is in an amazing location. Close to Denton, McKinney and Frisco. While you will be in a secluded country area...around the corner are restaurants, a huge Walmart for shopping and Lake Lewisville is six miles away. The property is very convenient to all the wedding venues in Aubrey as well. Come on out!

My family and I had a great time at Rancho de Los Arboles. The property is beautiful and serene. It's a rustic cabin with all the modern amenities that you would need. The pool was perfect and we enjoyed our guided barn tour. Ellen always responded to my questions in a timely manner. It was definitely a weekend to remember!

Property was beautiful. Large spacious farm home on a large farm. We stay with a larger group of people enough space for everyone. Beautiful views siting on the porch in the morning. Everyone loves the chickens so fun. Would definitely stay agin. The area was far enough away to be private but still located close to stores and places to eat. Only downside was we were unable to get the pool heated for our stay and the water was still cooler due to the weather.

Check in was quick and painless. Lots of places to eat around. Was able to Insta Cart Groceries to address. Lots of space. We had 20 and never felt crowded. Very peaceful property.

We stayed for 4 nights with 7 adults and 5 children. The house is well suited for hanging out and we even had extra bedrooms. Very clean and spacious with all the necessaries provided. The kids loved the horses and chickens and we all loved the tour of the stable. (This had to be arranged, for safety guests are not allowed into stable without a guide). I would not hesitate to recommend this property or to stay here again.

The place had everything we needed. The children loved watching the horses and the chickens. Plenty of room for all 16 of us. Would recommend new shelf paper in all the bathroom and bedroom shelves. Since there is a washer/dryer there, we could wash the towels ourselves. Firewood was readily available and when we needed more propane it was promptly delivered. Overall a great price for what we got.

We had 20 people in our family all together. The two living spaces have room to spread out a bit. The kitchen was very large which gave us space to prep for Thanksgiving dinner. The property was well maintained and the kids loved the chickens and the horses. Walmart and Aldi were close by for groceries. We enjoyed a polar plunge in the pool too. Overall, it was a great stay!

Housed a large family reunion. Beautiful space inside and out. We used the grassy area on the side of the cabin to host my dad’s 60th birthday party. Friendly staff at the horse training facility behind the cabin that took us on a tour of the horses and barn. Very good location that is close to Wal-Mart and other food options. The webpage provided by Ellen provided all the info needed for checking-in and checking-out and was above and beyond what I have seen at other homes. Really enjoyed the quiet weekend and hoping to do future family reunions at Rancho. Thank you!

This was a great place for our family that gathered to go to a wedding at Hillside Estate which was only 5 minutes from the house! It’s an open floor plan but the listing was very upfront about that. But our family is very laid back and not worried about privacy! So it worked great! The porch spaces were great for spreading out for conversations and the country space perfect!

This house was perfect for our extended family attending a wedding nearby. The grounds were beautiful and the porch rockers on both the front and back porch were always in use. My 6’10” brother in law had to watch his head constantly because the ceilings are rather low. I would have loved a better umbrella situation in the pool area but other than that, we loved our stay.

This was a great property for a big group. The log house was a perfect place to enjoy ranch living. The horse barn next door added to the ambience. Ellen the host was very good to work with. I wish we had a couple more days to stay!

My large extended family was in town for my son's wedding in Aubrey. Quiet location with just enough ranch happenings to make sitting on the porch watching the animals feel like an authentic experience but not noisy or intrusive. My family thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

A day on the farm
We enjoyed the the stay in June and especially enjoyed watching the chickens roam from the back porch. The pool is more convenient than the pictures suggest, being right behind the house. What you don’t see is the ranch hand’s family home that is fairly close. So you won’t feel entirely secluded but it is a peaceful place with activities to watch like feeding the horses, horse training/riding, and cleaning the stables. We made plenty of noise with loud music by the pool while we were there and weren’t too concerned about disturbing anybody. The contract says you need permission for parties and there is a fee for over 25. We found ourselves debating the definition of party but Ellen didn’t have any problems with our friends coming and going.

The Prefect Get Away
Incredibly Gorgeous home with comfort of country living and security. This property has everything anyone needs for a getaway with friends and family! Plenty of room to spread out, large swimming pool, a touch of farm life and the pleasantry of quiet sunrises. Even the roosters and free range chickens amplified the “get away” factor. Host (Ellen) is very accommodating and commutative with any topics. Horses were an astonishing site to watch and Ellen offers encounters with them and a barn tour.
We all came together for an annual cookout and by far this has been the best location we have experienced!

Such an amazing property
This home was perfect for our family event and we really enjoyed the beautiful farm views of the farm including horses and chickens. I would definitely recommend if you have a big family or are planning a function as this home sleeps a lot of people and has everything you need.

We enjoyed our stay. Property was beautiful and served it purpose for our church retreat. However, we were disappointed to learn that of the 7 bedrooms listed on the VRBO website, only 2 of the bedrooms have doors to the rooms. So privacy for the 7 unrelated couples at our retreat was hard to come by. We made it work, but I feel that this should have been disclosed and is a shortcoming of the listing. Had we known this upfront, we likely would have selected a different property for our stay. The pictures do not offer perspective on this typical and reasonable expectation for a bedroom. For large families, this property and its bedroom set up may not be an issue, but it is a challenge if you have multiple family units desiring to stay together. Other than this challenge, the property was properly disclosed and is a great location.
