About this house rental
With access to the world-famous Kailua Beach and its turquoise waters being just four houses away and shops, restaurants and grocery nearby, the location of Helen's Beach House could not be more ideal. The exterior maintains a modest aesthetic, but this only serves as a cover of sorts for how tastefully designed and decorated the interior of this five-bedroom, five-bathroom vacation home that sleeps up to 12.
Though each bedroom has its own aesthetic slant, style and design, what unifies them all is their attention to detail and the obvious effort to make each a comfortable tropical nest for any and all who are lucky enough to occupy them. Bedrooms have their own wall air conditioning, they all have en suite bathrooms, some with dual sinks and sleek granite flooring.
The common areas of this 4500 sq ft. house include two spacious living areas and two adjoining kitchens. Highlights of common areas include multiple ceilings beams, fine hardwood floors, marble countertops and numerous floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors with lanai and pool access allowing plenty of natural sunlight to brighten the interior.
The exterior boasts a spacious patio with gazebo and BBQ area outlining a private, tiled pool... so many options for fun in the sun.
When venturing off-property, nearby Kailua and Kailua Beach offer several vacations' worth of activities for all types from the adventurous to easy going. This was the third time our family has stayed at Helen’s Beach House in Kailua, HI. We have a large family, which is why we have continued to stay at this rental; it is spacious enough to accommodate all of us. However, over the years, we have “sadly” noticed that the house has fallen into disrepair. There were several issues that needed to be fixed since the last time we stayed here that still have not been addressed. Furthermore, with our recent stay, we were not informed about some of the problems with the rental until about 48 hours before our arrival. This is quite disappointing because the rental is in a great location, and the house itself has such potential. Unless necessary work and repairs are made, our family will be looking for another rental house for our next trip. PROS: Great location; each bedroom has its own bathroom; 2 minute walk to beach; private pool; two kitchens and two family rooms; can park 5 cars. CONS: In desperate need of maintenance (lighting, appliances, floors, A/C units, plumbing, pool care, sliding doors [do not safely lock], door handles are corroding, windows: need cleaning and/or replacing, all kitchen cabinets: need a deep and thorough cleaning). Sadly, no pride of ownership.

The house is beautiful. It could use some updates but the good of the whole house makes up for that. We had 12 in our family and it was so big we didn’t feel cramped. I love, love that every room has its own full bathroom. The pool could use some upgrading but again it was perfect for us. It was equipped with everything we needed except, it should have at least 2 sets of bath towels for each person. I have found thee house that I will stay in again and again. Thank you Tiffany for your Hawaiian hospitality.

I came with 8 other friends for a birthday trip, it was about 9 days. The size of the house, and the convenience were impeccable. The pool and distance tot he beach was incredible - the experience was just, made our vacation better. Also Tristen our host was so easy to communicate with and very thoughtful :)

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the spaciousness of the beach house and with all the amenities provided. The swimming pool was a great asset for all of us, especially the children. The weather was very unusually muggy due to the hurricanes passing near our island. However it was real nice to have this beach house for our large family. Kiri, the manager was excellent in showing me around and explained everything about the house. She quickly responded with a plumber to repair a leaking toilet; glad there were other bathrooms in the house.

Wonderful. All 11 of use had our own space. Not having experienced this type of rental, didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. There were a few items that I found either missing (napkins and inside broom) or in short supply ( paper towels, toilet paper, & dish drying towels) we borrowed from all kitchens to supplement. Also, the small bathroom's shower curtain was dirty and no bathmat. These items seem small, but would have made the experience even better.

The house was perfect for our four families celebrating a milestone birthday. Excellent Experience
We had the most wonderful stay at this property in Jan 2022. Chiyoshi was so helpful, providing clear arrival instructions, answering texts promptly and just in general was lovely to communicate with. The house is the perfect space for a big family — plenty of room to be together, but also separate spaces for those who prefer quiet time. It's well appointed with kitchen items, basic toiletries, beach chairs and boogie boards. The proximity to the beach is fantastic, and the pool got plenty of use too. Would absolutely stay here again!

Outstanding Hawai`i Beach Vacation Rental
The accommodations, location and management by Chiyoshi for this Hawai`i Life Vacations rental are outstanding making our stay truly memorable. We are residents of Hawaii who are most thankful for having our `ohana (11 family members from afar) come together at this home located within minutes of Kailua beach and town that more than adequately met our needs to Ho`onanea - be "at ease and in peace with pleasures."

Fantastic stay at a local spot - beach access and pool were the highlights
Helen's beach house was a great home away from home- with plenty of space for 2 families with two separate living spaces. The best part was the private access to Kailua beach - only one block away. The studio was a converted garage and we didn't use it much ( no A/C, no locking door), but was nice to have the extra space and separate wifi when we were all streaming video calls. Chiyoshi, the property manager, was fantastic and very responsive- as it is an older home that needed a few things during our month stay. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and found Helens beach house, and thank you again for sharing this local spot with us!

House is not fully air conditioned. Some window units worked better than others. Plumbing leak in one kitchen/bathroom. Minimal reimbursement offered for this inconvenience. Sixth bedroom in separate, non-air-conditioned studio building. Chiyoshi went out of her way to be accommodating. Proximity to beach terrific! Well-stocked kitchens. Miscellaneous unexplained fees totaled over $3000.00.

Family Vacation
All ten of us had a great time! Proximity to the beach was fabulous. House was comfortable. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool. House was well-equipped. Appreciated all the amenities...jigsaw puzzles, cookware, etc.
Unfortunately, a leaking pipe resulted in having a plumber come visit. Chiyoshi handled this seamlessly. Will check on compensation for this inconvenience.
House was advertised as being air conditioned, however only the bedrooms had a/c and not all of them worked well. The studio has no a/c.
House was also advertised as having six bedrooms. Unfortunately, bedroom number six is in the studio...a separate building. A bit inconvenient.

We had an excellent stay at Helen's house!! The house is laid out very nicely for a large family of 14. Everyone was able to have their own bathroom and separate space. The two kitchens and one being with ac was a blessing. We were definitely there during a very hot time. A couple of the room air conditioners did have a difficult time keeping up with the heat. It is a very quick walk to the beach and easily accessible for my Mom who uses a walker. The beach was beautiful!! Melodie and Chiyoshi were wonderful to work with:) We would highly recommend and hopefully we will be able to return in the future!! Thanks for making our family vacation so special:)

Fabulous Stay!
Our family of 14, eight adults and six kids, stayed here for 10 days in July. Everything was wonderful! The house itself has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms in the main house, and a detached studio apartment with a full kitchen and bath, all which were perfect for our large family. Everything was very well equipped with a plethora of activities and room for everyone. The beach was a 2 minute walk down a paved driveway, through a gate, and a short path to the most beautiful beach in the world! Even in the midst of summer, the beach was very private, without a feeling of being crowded at all. The pool was very large and clean, and our kids spent every waking minute that we weren't at the beach in the pool. It was so easy to watch them because the entire main living area faces the pool. Our family rents VRBO properties often and this was our third large house rental in Hawaii, two on Oahu and one on Maui. This was far and away the very best! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return!

Helens beach house (March 7th to the 16th 2019)
A comfortable home with most everything we needed for eleven family members. Plenty of beds and bathrooms. Short walk to the lovely beach.
A little cool for the pool but some brave members used it. The grill was a little suspect --could have been better. Over all a spacious, and comfy stay for a
large 3 generation family gathering.

This home is great for large groups (14 of us)...6 bedrooms, six bathrooms, and 3 kitchens, enough parking for 5-6 vehicles, plenty of indoor and outdoor space....but by far the best feature is its location. A quick walk to the end of the cul-de-sac and you enter the most beautiful beach through a private gate. This was our first trip to Hawaii and Helen's Beach House was fabulous. We picked the home based on previous reviews and this place exceeded my expectations. I would absolutely stay again!

This house was perfect for our family. We had 13 people, four different families come and stay for a week at this property. It was perfect. The beach that we had direct access too was clean and breathtaking. The kids were able to enjoy both the beach and the pool at the house. The pool wasn't heated but being from Michigan, the kids didn't seem to mind. The two kitchens were great to prepare large lunch/dinner spreads. It was very clean and stocked with anything you would need on vacation (beach and pool toys, beach towels, irons, hair dryers, etc.). The only issue we had was the wifi was not always working which also impacted the tv and when people needed to do some work. After I reported it, they mentioned that they may need to get it fixed as it sounded like a problem that was not new. Thank you for an amazing vacation with long lasting memories.

Just walking into Helen's Beach House would warrant 5 stars! The space is so well proportioned and equipped for a large group. Bedrooms and bathrooms are so well situated that all of us had privacy and space to ourselves, while the open plan was perfect for all to be together. A two minute walk to the beach and a great pool satisfied all of our vacation dreams. There is all kinds of beach gear to use. Even the rainy days that we experienced were OK because we all worked on the 1000 piece puzzles for hours at a time! All of our family members from 70 to 7 months loved our stay here.

Helen's Beach House was a great home with plenty of room for 12 people. We loved the pool, the open floor plan, and plentiful number of bathrooms. The beach access is one of the home's best features. While not direct, you do have access though a private gate to one of the best lounging beaches in Hawaii.
