We have been coming to Lavallette for 5 years. Location and house was perfect. Communication with host and check in process was great. Very close to the beach and walkable to restaurants/ shops. AC worked well. Everything we love about the Lavallette cottages. Would love to stay again.

It as an awesome stay. You can’t beat the location. It’s 3 houses down from the ocean. The house is perfect if you are a beach bum looking to spend the whole day at the beach and just need a place to shower & sleep.
If I had to complain I’d say ceiling fans in the bedrooms would be nice to help airflow so you can sleep with doors closed and the home needs some maintenance. For instance, the grill grates have some rust so you can’t use all the grates. But this place is really all you need when you plan to be at the beach all day.
I would stay here again. Suzanne & Andrew were great hosts!

Our family of 4 stayed for a week. We are veterans of the area and grew up visiting and staying in Lavallette. The location is perfect and we were very happy. We didn’t want our vacation to end. Other reviews about the air conditioner I think are a bit exaggerating, we slept very comfortably and I am a “hot” sleeper. All our needs were met and the owners are easy and respond promptly with questions we had before the trip. I hope we can stay here again for many years to come. Cheers!

Stones throw to the beach. Cute little beach house. Had almost everything we needed. Hosts are very nice. Would definately return another year.

The location in the property was perfect. There is absolutely no parking for a guest to visit. This rental does not come with beach badges like many others do. There is only air conditioning in the living room. The bedrooms are dangerous hot in the afternoon/ night. There is nowhere to sit outside but a 2.5ft walkway. The fans and air conditioning were so dusty it sent my daughter into an allergy attack. We ended up leaving 3 days early.

Thank you to our hosts for another great year. It’s nice to stay in a beach cottage when so many houses have been updated and modernized. This beach home reminds me of childhood vacations and I’m so happy to be making the memories with my son. The cottage was very clean and we enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Property needs a make over one a/c for whole house , some type of half ass fan system in between rooms to move ac . No way could 6 people stay here . Any one over 230 will never fit in shower. Sandy missed this one

Cozy cottage
The property was beautiful, in very convenient location and just a few houses from the beach! The decor was very cute and beachy as well! I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in the Lavalette area.

Great location
The house is in a great location, very close to the beach and Lavallette is a nice town. The house has sand toys and boogie boards which was convenient. Unfortunately the house has some heavily used furniture and doesn’t appear to get thoroughly cleaned. There are also a lot of brown widows hiding in the kitchen and in many corners which could be a concern for parents with small children.

This is a traditional Ocean Beach cottage that retains its charm with just enough updates for comfort and convenience ~ We enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year!

Family friendly beach
I have been coming to Ocean Beach since the 70s and into the 80s. I moved out of state but have decided to visit Ocean Beach for vacations again. It didn't disappoint. This cottage is in a perfect location. I love the old style cottages as that is what my family always rented when I was a kid. They are small, but just enough room to be comfortable.

Great vacation
Great cottage and very close to beach. Owners Suzanne and Robert wonderful and brought us a new t v after we found it was broken. This year the cottage had new beautiful floors and grill. Thank you. We had a great time.

Fun times at the Shore
We've booked this same exact cottage last year, we loved it so much we couldn't wait to come back and stay again. We loved the new upgrades as well. Walking distance to the beach and really close to both boardwalks. Love all the little shops nearby. We would definitely come back.

R&R and remote classes
Perfect location for a much needed getaway. Only complaint was we did not stay longer. My kids had virtual classes and in between their classes they walked to the beach for a little break. We miss it already.

Great location. You get what you pay for.
One of the more outdated properties we've seen in the area. Needs updating as others have eluded to. Grill needs replacing. Furniture and carpet are worn. A few fans are included and are a must to get A/C to reach into bedrooms. Kitchen is stocked nicely with everything you need. We purchased a replacement blender for the cottage and owners reimbursed no questions asked. Lighting outside is poor at night so be careful. Solar lights in pics are not enough. Proximity to beach, restaurants, and shops is perfect. Overall, it was an amazing location for the price. If you're OCD about cleanliness I'd recommend looking elsewhere at a higher price point. If you're looking for a budget friendly place to rest between activities, this will do the trick. Recommend communicating with owners via text as they never responded to an email I sent them. Responsiveness over text was fine. 4 stars overall based on the price vs what you get.

The house needs major work it is in extremely poor condition and the floors and furniture are gross. I didn’t want to sit on the couch. The location was great and the beach was beautiful. There was no ac in the bedrooms so it was very hot at night. There also was no outdoor table or seating which I was aware of but If I were the owner I’d consider it because it would make the property that much better. I love the beach vibe but I’d rather stay somewhere that is a little cleaner.

Our stay in Ocean Beach
We had fun & sun with nearby family staying at this cottage. Clean & easy to walk to the beach 3 homes to the great Atlantic. The back door we could not open on the breezy days to let the air flow thru. That was the only drawback. Othetwise we enjoyed our stay greatly.

Great Location
This house was perfect for our family of 4. The location is the real winner here. It’s about 50 feet from the entry to the beach. Very nice family-friendly neighborhood. Ice cream around the corner. Jenkinson’s Boarwalk is a 15-20 minute straight ride north.
Owners are a pleasure to deal with. Overall a great week for us. We are already talking about returning next Summer. A+

The beach
This was the perfect beach house for my family. My two young boys were comfortable in the house, and had very close access to the beach and the other kids in the neighborhood. Close knit group of people and we even had a dj in the beach to go along with the fireworks.
Suzanne was pleasant, responsive and easy to reach. We arrived early and brought the kids to the beach - Suzanne emailed right away to tell us the house was finished being cleaned and that we could check in around noon, even though it’s a 3:00 time.
Was an overall great experience and we hope to rent 15 again next summer.

Super beach house
Had a great week on the beach. Super location. Everything we needed was already in the house. Suzanne's instructions were highly detailed and easy to follow. Only wished that the airconditioner was more efficient and not so loud.

Very nice lay out
A.c. did not work...owner told me "she checked it last week" left it on for over 12 hours it never got under 80 in cottage.very hard to sleep in stifling muggy air.

Tiny, cozy beach cottage with huge beach benefits!
My husband & I stayed off season while taking care of some stuff in Nj. It was perfect for the two of us. While it actually rained the entire week, I walked the beach each day collecting treasures & being so close was perfect. It would be the perfect spot for early risers looking to catch beautiful NJ sunrises while vacationing. During the peak season this would be a prome location in a well maintained community. It had everything we needed & we were very comfortable there. The owners Suzanne & Andy are fabulous! They are very accommodating & they were very easy to communicate with. I would stay here again when visiting NJ.
