Imagine being surrounded by a beautiful National Forest in your backyard, while still being close to all the exciting activities around Lake Tahoe. You're just a short 4-mile drive from casinos, restaurants, theaters, shopping, music, entertainment, and various activities like boating, sailing, swimming, and skiing at Lake Tahoe's South Shore. For skiers, the uncrowded Nevada ski lifts at Heavenly Ski Area are just 2 miles away. Nature enthusiasts can easily access the scenic Tahoe Rim Trail and Castle Rock Trail. A neighborhood park and playground are only 4 blocks away, and you can step directly from your backyard into the Toiyabe National Forest for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, sledding, skiing, snowmobiling, and off-road driving. Additionally, a network of National Forest Service roads is just half a mile away.
Why Nevada is a Great Choice:
If you prefer a quieter and less crowded experience, the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe is the way to go. You'll encounter fewer people, less traffic, and fewer delays due to weather.
Close to Heavenly Ski Area Lifts:
You're within a 2-hour drive of 18 ski areas around Lake Tahoe, both in California and Nevada! Choose the best ski area based on snow conditions, ski quality, road conditions, weather, traffic, terrain, views, location, distance, cost, and personal preference.
Just 4 Minutes to the Ski Lift:
Heavenly Ski Area stands as the highest, tallest, and largest ski area near Lake Tahoe, boasting 3,500 feet of vertical terrain. It offers some of the most breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe, and you'll find one of the best ski instruction programs in the entire United States.
Shorter Lines in Nevada:
When you head to the Nevada lifts at Heavenly, you'll be pleased to find much shorter lines for parking, lift tickets, rentals, instruction, and food. This means you can get on the slopes and reach the mountain's peak faster and with less hassle. You can even ski over to the California side during lunchtime when the lines are shorter and then return to Nevada.
Close to Heavenly Nevada Bases:
If you're looking for full instruction facilities and uncrowded slopes, Boulder Lodge has you covered, along with a high-speed lift to get you to the top in no time. Stagecoach Lodge also offers a fast lift to access uncrowded and challenging Nevada slopes.
Convenient Access:
432 Barrett Drive is conveniently located just 1 mile from Kingsbury Grade (Hwy 207). Kingsbury Grade is known for being a good road and the fastest, shortest, and most direct route in and out of South Lake Tahoe. You'll find Lake Tahoe's largest and best casinos at the bottom of the Grade. And for those heading to Heavenly Ski Area's Nevada ski lifts, they're right at the summit of Kingsbury Grade. Best of all, this route has lighter traffic compared to other highways in the Tahoe area. It's a hidden gem, with fewer people using it because it doesn't look like a major road on most maps.
No Town Crossings:
Unlike other routes, Kingsbury Grade doesn't pass through any busy towns. You'll only encounter one stoplight between 432 Barrett Drive and Tahoe's largest casinos. There are no stoplights between Hwy 395 and 432 Barrett Drive. Hwy 395 leads straight to Reno International Airport and serves as the main highway on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada, running from Southern California to Northern California.
Scenic Kingsbury Grade:
Driving on Kingsbury Grade offers stunning views of the Carson Valley, and surrounding mountain ranges, and takes you through wildlife areas and ranches.
Winter Access Made Easy:
In the winter, 432 Barrett Drive benefits from excellent snow removal services. The Nevada side of Lake Tahoe is known for its efficient snow removal services
Safe and Well-Maintained Route:
Located 1 mile from Kingsbury Grade (Hwy 207), 432 Barrett Drive is conveniently positioned along the school bus route. Kingsbury Grade connects Lake Tahoe to Minden, the seat of Douglas County, in the Carson Valley. Because the Grade is the main road for all county government vehicles in the area, the county road and snow removal crews keep it in excellent condition, ensuring it remains clear of snow. The Grade also offers the most direct route in and out of the Tahoe Basin, minimizing your time driving in snowy, high-elevation conditions as you travel to and from the lake. 432 Barrett Drive sits atop the Sierra Nevada crest but borders the Great Basin and desert. As you cross Daggett Summit on the Grade, just 1.5 miles from 432 Barrett Drive, you'll descend into the arid Carson Valley. The Carson Valley lies in the rain shadow of the Sierra Nevada, making the Grade a fast and snow-free route to Lake Tahoe.

Beautiful home. Great area. Close to everything!

boyfriend and I had a check-in issue that could easily have been 'user error' 🙋♀️🙋♀️
despite the fact that our host could NOT have prevented our check-in mishap, he went out of his way to be kind&polite and give us directions to a gorgeous hiking trail behind his property, as well as different suggestions to enjoy specific aspects of his home.
we had an amazing time, and would definitely stay here again.
also, I come from a family of architects; and it is very apparent that our host had put a lot of time and effort into his home.
much appreciated

Loved the home. The location is close to South Lake downtown, and ubers are almost always available if needed.
The hot tub and BBQ are great to hang out in the fresh outdoor air, and the dual decks are nice to sit back with a beer or a glass of wine.
Great stay, would definitely rent again!

Kudos to the property owner who was very accommodating to our request and available to answer questions as they came up. He even provided advice on local attractions and nearby things to do. In addition, the day it snowed we were gratefully surprised to have a snow removal crew show up to shovel and clear the drive way. They informed us that the landlord provided the service. It was awesome to sit in the hot tub on the deck as the snow fell. The only challenge we encountered was the water heater that needed to be reset a couple times during our stay. Again the landlord immediately called us back to walk us through the process even on the Thanksgiving day. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would gladly return at another time if possible.

Our family got together before the kids went back to college, we had 12 people and everyone had room to spread out and enjoy the weekend. Brendan touched base with us on the day of check-in and provided instructions to resolve a hot water issue. He was very helpful and responded quickly to questions.
The house was great and we enjoyed playing games, puzzles and hanging out all weekend long. Brendan told us about a nearby trail with views of Lake Tahoe and it was wonderful. I would recommend this house to my friends and family.

The house was very nice in a great location. There were a couple of things around the house that didn't work, like closet doors, refrigerator draw, stove knobs and bbq starter. We didn't have hot water for most of the weekend. The 2 beds that are in the rooms by themselves are queens not kings.

I guess I didn't see the description but there is no A/C in this home. It was very very warm and uncomfortable the days we stayed. The two fans for the entire home were not enough (no ceiling fans in the master bedroom upstairs in the heat!) I would recommend an A/C window unit upstairs at least. The hot tub was gross enough for me not to get in it. (as I hot tub owner I know when it's not looking good or smelling good), linens are old and stained. The carpet is really bad in the downstairs and needs replacing. Some of the lights didn't work, yard over grown, I could go on. Expressed concerns with owners with photos when ASKED and no response. Just kinda of a neglected property overall. No major problems or anything I can't deal with but if management or the owners just up-kept the house a little better it would really shine. As an investor myself, it is my opinion that no one with an invested interests has had their eyes on this house in a while.

Brendan’s Home offered everything our group of 10 people needed for a weekend near South Lake Tahoe. The open living area that opened onto the back deck was great for hanging out. The location of the house is exactly what we were hoping for; walking distance to a trailhead for the Tahoe Rim Trail and a short drive to the south end of Lake Tahoe. Highly recommend this property and will be staying here again in the future. Thanks Brendan!

Beautiful home that fit our large family. Had pretty much everything we needed. Very close to the village and about a 10 min drive to the lake/beach. It was also a short walk up to the mtn trails with beautiful views. Brendan was also very quick to respond to our call with a quick question we had for our stay. We will book again for our next vacation.

Best place to ring in 2017!
My family and I had a great time at Brendan's amazing cabin! Brendan was extremely attentive with us before and during our trip truly making sure everything was perfect for us. Speaking of perfect, his home had everything we could need and the location was great for my visiting family to enjoy their first snow experience. We truly could not have stayed at a better place and made some amazing memories together here! We definitely will be back!
