Our charming cottage by the sea, located in a cottage community known as 'Camp Ellis', is our home away from home and we are sure you will feel the same. Enjoy your morning coffee from our second floor deck with an ocean view. The cottage is fully equipped with a full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, Smart TV and DVD. It is heated for a cool June or September. AC available on the first floor and ceiling fans in each room. Sheets and towels are NOT included. We are just steps to a quiet beach for relaxation and fun and which is dog friendly! There is a working fishing pier, deep sea fishing charters, kayak rentals, para sailing and jet ski rentals. Fresh lobsters are readily available. There is a wonderful local restaurant, Huot's, within walking distance and plenty more choices in town. There is a Camp Ellis General Store with many grocery items as well as wine, beer and wonderful snacks and local items. The cottage is just a few miles off the highway, yet you will feel like you're a world away. Take advantage of local antiquing and outlet shopping in Kittery and Freeport. You can take a free local trolley into Old Orchard Beach for fun on the Amusement Park Pier or a short drive into Portland for more city enjoyments.

We stayed a week. The location is very nice - the little beach nearby doesn't get as crowded as the main Old Orchard beach, and we liked the fact that dogs are allowed on that beach. It was also great for us that the door into the house was inside of a gated little yard area, especially with dogs.
The house itself was great. It's small but was plenty big enough for us. The owners seem to have put a lot of thought into including the little extras - there are books and games, every possible kitchen item you could need, a cup with pens and pencils. Clearly this is a property that is often used and well-loved.

Very, very nice little place to spend a week. Everything was clean and comfortable. The cottage was just a short one or two hundred yard walk to the beach or the pier. The only thing we'd suggest would be to edit the description. The place had more in the way of amenities than was described-such as an air conditioner and ceiling fans and more- and that was a pleasant surprise. It was quite centrally located and we highly recommend taking advantage of this property if you can...

This was a last minute booking in our part so we were very pleased to be able to find this place. We have been coming to Ocean Park for 40 years so this was a little out of the area for us. It was a joy to be by the pier as we saw many of the lobster boats come in and unload! The beach area is quite small but it is very close by and access to other beaches is within minutes. The Lil House was very comfortable, clean and a nice place to relax at the end of a beach day! Anything needed for meals was there (cutlery, dishes, etc…) and instructions were very clear with regards to little nuances of the property. We would return there again with no hesitation!

Janice's Lil House was exactly what we needed. It's cozy and charming and located in a cute fishing village south of the busier Old Orchard area. Highly recommend!

Janice is always so responsive and the little house is just perfect for us, feels like our home away from home. Just steps away from the beach and a short drive away from anything you can imagine wanting to do.

As we already knew and loved Camp Ellis, it was a delight to stay there for a few days. Everything was perfect. The house was small but the owners had thought of everything we could need during our stay. It was very comfortable and had a balcony with a nice seaview, which we enjoyed every day. The beach was very close, and the general store had the best lobster rolls we had eaten in years. Thank you Janice and Colleen.

Very cozy and loaded with charm. Host has really stocked the house with every amenity - except linen & towels :( Neighborhood is a bit crowded, but they were not too noisy (for my stay anyway). Beach was a bit small at high tide - erosion is hard to manage on the shoreline. I would definitely stay there again in the shoulder season (no AC)

We had such a great time at Lil' House. The place was stocked with items that we had brought anyways (as a precaution, I always bring so many things). The house was equipped with EVERYTHING you need. We really loved the location. The area is so peaceful and relaxing. Who knew such a beach town existed in Maine? We wanted was a place close to a beach that was dog and kid friendly and we found just that in Camp Ellis. We'll definitely be coming back. This was just the relaxing end-of-summer vacation we needed with our pup and 3 year old daughter. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Perfect cozy getaway from Boston for weekend! Listened to the ocean at night and being able to watch the fog roll in was so fascinating. Rested and rejuvenated to head back to city now.

Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a secluded place to get some R&R. The beach is literally less than a minute walk away and because it was off season dogs are allowed to be off leash, which our pups loved. There's also a nice park within running/walking distance that had some cool woodsy trails. Within 30 min of Portland and Ogonquit and Kennebunkport so lots to do while still having a quiet place to retreat to. The accommodations were great for what we were looking for, which was really just a place to sleep and relax in the morning before we set off on our adventures.

This was an adorable and cozy getaway! The location to the beach is perfect and the sunrises are incredible. Had to call the owners once and they are very responsive and friendly. My pups and my family loved it. Highly recommend a stay here.

My first weekend there were the remnants of a hurricane and the ocean was awesome to watch. Unfortunately the beach got super Seaweedy but it’s A short drive to either Ocean Park or old Orchard. The upstairs deck is the most peaceful place I’ve been! The neighborhood was quiet and the house was immaculately clean and well stocked. I definitely wished it had air conditioning during the hot and humid days but other than that it was perfect.

We had a peaceful, relaxing week with our dogs. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. Cozy seaside village with great little beach just steps away. We’ll definitely go back!

This is a cozy place with a well-appointed kitchen. The beach is just a few minute walk away from the front door. The description of the rental is accurate, however, there are several issues that should be brought forward. Camp Ellis is a community consisting of a group of small homes, tightly packed together. The homes are often just several feet apart. This rental is no exception. What is not in the description is that the main bedroom window is located is located within several feet of the porch of the adjacent house on one side and the front door of the adjacent house on the other side. On hot summer nights, it is not uncommon to sit on the porch and either party or chat with your friends. During our week, there was a chatty group partying (with a few adult beverages onboard) until well after midnight on the neighboring porch. We closed our windows, but that was not effective. Needless to say, there were a few sleepless nights on our vacation.
Also, we were advised just prior to our arrival date that we should bring our own sheets and towels. It was not a huge deal, but if I"m going to pay that level of rental fees, I expect to have towels and sheets included in the rental.
Overall, we were disappointed with our stay at this vacation rental.

Comfortable and cozy. Very pet friendly. It was the perfect getaway for our family with our furry buddies. Walking the beach every morning to watch the sunrise was a highlight. Sunrises could also be seen from the house.

We had a very nice 3 night stay with our dog. Only 15 min away from some great restaurants in middle of Saco and to Old Orchard Beach Pier. Our dog had a blast at the beach and getting lobster at Huot’s

We really enjoyed our Camp Ellis stay. The property was small, but clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The location (being in between two dog friendly beaches) was perfect!
