About this house rental
Fishing Point Lake House is a nicely renovated cottage across the road from the lake's edge in a quiet relaxing spot with water views overlooking the lake. Why share with others when you can have the privacy of a house to yourselves on a large block of land.
Relax and enjoy the changing moods of the lake, the house picks up lovely breezes from the lake. Watch the boats cruise by and the pelicans glide, and enjoy sunsets over the water. Quiet and peaceful location.
Air conditioner and ceiling fans for good air circulation (bedrooms and 2 in the main living / kitchen).
Fishing in Australia's largest saltwater lake, access to Fishing Point Reserve is 150m, I go off the rocks and pick up some nice bream, flatties, squire, flounder and leather jackets sometimes :)
Or get active with Lake Macquarie to enjoy. Easy access to the lake, fishing, swimming, great walks, bike rides, boating, jetski, sailing, windsurfing, photography.
Explore the Hunter (wineries, mountains, Newcastle etc) whatever is your thing.
Boats have good access with off road parking for the car(s) and boats, 1 lock up garage. The public boat ramp is 1 Km.
Large block of land (1/3 of an acre). Why share with others when you can have your own fully appointed home away from home weekender?
Fishing Point is situated on Lake Macquarie, Australia's largest salt water lake. 1 hour drive from the Sydney beginning of the F3 , take the Morriset off ramp.
Fishing Point Lake House is overlooking Eraring Bay towards Wangi Wangi (South aspect) which is about 3 Km across water.
Great spot, the house is the classic weekender cottage with all its charms. The house has a lakeside feel with everything you need for a relaxing break. Great views.
Features
2 bedrooms with built in wardrobes. 1 bedroom with Queen bed, other bedroom has 4 singles (2 are trundles). Slleeps 4 comfortably. Rates are for 4 people, maximum 6 guests, extra charges apply.
1 blanket each and bedspreads. 8 pillows. 1 Queen , 4 singles. Linen packs available for additional fee per person.
2 Futon sofas (form into 2 additional double beds, linen not supplied) on the large L shaped sunroom overlooking the lake.
Air conditioner in main living area and ceiling fans ( kitchen,living and bedrooms).
Cottage L shaped kitchen with granite benchtops, new LPG gas stove, microwave and banquet size electric frypan, wok and outside gas BBQ. Crockery, cutlery, cookware, utensils and glassware. Upside down fridge (also beery fridge in The Shed). Outside gas BBQ from the paved covered patio.
1 bathroom with bath and shower over bath.
Laundry and separate toilet with access through bathroom or from the rear patio outside. Has a new 5.5 Kg top loader washing machine.
Lounge with 40" HD Digital LCD TV and DVD player. Front bedroom (with single beds has a 68 cm TV which has digital freeview channels, (GO, One HD etc) and DVD player.
Dining setting overlooking the lake (seats up to 6)
1 car garage with separate workshop
On a large block about 1/3 of an acre, good access for cars and boats.
Yard not fenced: NO PETS ALLOWED.
Walk 150m to Fishing Point Reserve, you can fish from the rocks, I have scored squire, bream, flatties, and flounder, there on occasions :)
1 Km to public boat ramp with public jetty.
Rathmines shops 2 Km -IGA Minimart, Takeaway, Newsagency, Cafe / restaurant, Chinese Rest., Bowling Club, Bottleshop, Service station, pharmacy, ATM.
Wangi Wangi is 5Km and has a variety of shops, cafes, clubs and a pub.
Toronto is 7 Km, with Coles, Woolies, Aldi and a variety of shops, banks etc)
Lock up single car garage with workshop. Large block of land, ample parking for cars and boats. Nearest Boat ramp with public jetty is 1Km. Kiaben Bay also has a boat ramp and jetty which is 3.5Km north of the property. Rathmines has lovely waterfront parklands, playgrounds and a concrete walking/bike track, which is 2.5 Km north of the property.

Quiet and tranquil, loaded with Old world charm
We loved our stay here for a girls week away. The cottage has history but every attempt was made to provide modern day comforts without losing the old world charm. Such a tranquil place to stay. The decor was thoughtful and loving furnished. There was a beautiful ambience about the place and a view to die for. The shelves were stocked and there were so many little extras that enhanced our stay. Windows were so clean so we could appreciate the view. The beds were comfortable and with the fans and air conditioner it was easy to sleep. We will definitely book here again. So many magical things to do here and we only touched the surface. Thank you for sharing your place.

Wonderful holiday
It was really lovely to stay at this beautiful old property in in Fishing Point. The cottage has great character and history and we instantly felt comfortable and relaxed. The hosts were easy going, very helpful and great communicators. Our visit coincided with some very wet weather, but it was we loved seeing the changing conditions on the lake from the picture windows and hear the rain pelting on the roof. Would love to visit again, thank you.

We stayed for three nights and enjoyed every moment.
The property is simple and spacious; And the location quiet and private. Access to jettys, and bike paths was very simple. The surf beaches were only a 25 minute dive away. The shopping strip in Rathmines is a two minute drive had everything needed - the fish and chips were great! And Toronto is only a few more minutes drive away for any major purchases - Greg & Audrey's Ice Cream Shop was a winner with the children.

The 2-bedroom cottage with large verandah was very cosy:- comfortable double bed , and single beds , all with clean linen; the kitchen is equipped with both a gas stove , a microwave , and plenty of cutlery & adequate cooking utensils ( we do not need to do much serious cooking , as our main focus is the beautiful Lake Macquarie , and fishing at the jetties ). The cottage has panoramic views , and is very close to the Lake .
Our special thanks goes to Garry , the owner — he has been very responsive to a few of our enquiries . An additional feature is that this cottage is located in Fishing Point —a very serene suburb with friendly residents and visitors . We highly recommend to friends , especially those with their own family .
