About this house rental
Omaha Sands is a large Beach Home ideal for families and friends getting together at the beach to make for relaxing, carefree and memorable holidays away.
Located in the heart of Omaha Beach and only a few minutes walk from the patrolled surf beach, the safe and tranquil estuary, convenience store, cafe and 18 hole golf course, the delights and attractions that Omaha Beach and the larger Matakana area offers are all very accessible from Omaha Sands.
Large deck areas provide sea views taking in Ti Point, Little and Great Barrier Islands, The Coromandel and Tawharanui Peninsular. Open plan living area with two bedrooms and bathroom on the upper level; on the ground level, 3 separate large bedrooms and a second bathroom provide comfortable sleeping in real beds (3 queen beds, balance singles- no bunks!). Baby gear (cot and stair fence) available if required at no charge.
A fish filleting station is provided and all will enjoy an evening soak with a wine in the spa pool.
Flexible check in/out times, off road parking for cars and boat, wood fire and heaters for winter warmth, free Wifi internet, table tennis table, guest kayak and life jackets, Nespresso coffee machine. The Estuary and boat ramp are in easy distance for water activities.
Whether its family time away from the city, a get-together with a bunch of friends, romantic break, winter get-away, corporate off-site or simply time out, Omaha Sands will provide you just the tonic you deserve

Great Bach, awesome amount of rooms and beds, sea views, close to beach
* best property manager ever dealt with
*lovely energy about the place
-If you want to be picky about this Bach, there was no clean dish cloth to wipe bench with ( who cares!)
- dish washer leaks onto the floor ( who cares!)
- black rubber corner cushions in the spa need replacing as all the rubber bits, quite a lot, float around inside the spa
- bottom floor bathroom needs some hooks and couple of shelves to hang stuff on, no biggie
I’d buy this Bach but def will come again, love it!

Great weekend retreat
It was wet all weekend but being indoors was still great. This place has everything you need from a fireplace, playing cards to an outdoor spa pool. Chris the Host was awesome to deal with too.

Couldn't fault it
Such a great place for extended family to share a weekend away! No one feels like they are on top of each other, there is space to all chill out and then to all be together as well. Loved the spa! Really easy communication about access, rubbish etc. Thanks so much

Generous host
Chris and family have a beautiful batch with sea views and a 3 min walk to the beach. They were very generous in allowing us to stay longer and enjoy their batch an extra day. Thank you for a very comfortable stay. Would love to come back one day.

OMG! (Omaha Mighty Good)
A brilliant place for a family gathering (13 in our case). Everything you need is on-hand to keep yourselves entertained and nourished. Full kitchen, fridge-freezer, and wine fridge. Good WiFi, a coupla TV's, cards & games, table tennis. Easy walk to the beach and local shops. Fantastic restaurants/eateries within 10 mins drive. Hot water outside shower and an awesome spa pool (which is even more awesome when Mother Nature is chucking down bucket loads of cold wetness!).

Great place to stay
We spent the weekend here with 4 other couples - enough room for us all (10 adults) and with it being a couple of minutes walk to the beach it was perfect. We will definitely stay again.

Awesome place, easy and fun.
Was a very nice place with plenty of space for bbq in the good weather and and indoor board games for the bad weather. Easy to entertain three families at once!

Lesson Learnt ( Both the Owner & I)
Like everyone else we also planned to spend a weekend outside our home after the Covid lockdown.
But we didn’t know that we will end up in the house which will disappoint us so badly.
Oven and BBQ was disgusting, we ended up not using it. Toilet had water staining and appeared to be horrid. We straightaway called the owner and complained.
I must mention that he (the owner) is a very nice gentleman. It seems that due to Covid that he couldn’t visit the Bach and trusted the cleaners to perform their job well. He was in shock when we reported the issues. I will give him a 5 star on the communication side as he always responds to our emails. He did manage to go visit the Bach and confirmed that the cleaner accepted their fault and they will make sure it will not occur again. He accepted that number of areas were not generally to the standard he aspires to provide (not many do accept, but he did) so he proposed to refund the cost of 1-night stay.
End of the day we all make mistakes and learn lessons from it.
I’m sure in the future he will maintain the standards he aspires to provide 😊� – so you guys don’t worry. If you’re in doubt just give him a call – the owner is always helpful.
It’s a beautiful location and a must visit beach.

Winter escape for friends
Our group of 5 couples had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Darroch Slope. The property exceeded our expectations - ample rooms for couples, fabulous large decks & outdoor seating on both west & east sides to enjoy the sun and views, well appointed for music, TV , charging stations, coffee machine, dishwasher, spa pool and fireplace to keep the large open plan living area cosy. We had everything we needed to enjoy our home away from home, super handy to cafe & beach access too. The owners were responsive & welcoming. We’d be happy to stay there again as overall we had an excellent experience and are grateful that we could share this wonderful home & location. Thank you.

Perfect for our large family stay
Chris was amazing. He allowed us to enter the property earlier so that we could put the two babies to bed for their naps and then leave a little later to repeat this. The property was large for all of us to stay in and the spa pool a great hit especially as the weather was not kind for us. Being an older bach allowed us to not have the same worries of little hands damaging beautiful furniture and possessions. Our only down was there not being a hand rail on the top stairs and the three year old slipping down the stairs and hitting his head.

Great home, great host
We stayed with a group of 8 of us to attend a wedding in Matakana and Omaha Sands was the perfect house for us. More than enough room for everyone, the house was clean and had everything we needed. Great location too, just a short walk to beautiful Omaha Beach. Chris was very friendly and accommodating, I would definitely recommend to others. What a magic spot you have!

Hi first time users of bookabach, the property and location was great for what we wanted, it was clean, spacious, had everything there we needed, great indoor / outdoor flow and we loved it was a short walk to the beach out their back gate :) would certainly recommend.
