About this house rental

Leave your cares behind and relax at this welcoming upscale four-season Maine lakeside retreat, a respite for all ages.

Welcome to your Woodbury Pond vacation home on three (3) quiet acres with a small sandy beach with a shallow walk-in entry to the lake which is great for kids of all ages to enjoy the 700+ foot shoreline, 25-foot dock system with a swim platform, ladder and boat slip and all the amenities and activities to create memories for a lifetime.

Immerse yourself in nature with spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Watch eagles soaring across the lake, delight in great blue herons feeding in the cove, enjoy the comings and goings of the ducks, and spend your evenings listening to the loons call up and down the lake. Explore the lake with (2) kayaks (one single person and a one two person), (2) "sit on top" paddle boards, & (2) full size stand up paddle boards. Look for frogs along the shoreline, walk along the long gravel driveway and woods to experience the peace of nature. In the evenings enjoy time around the gas fire pit (propane provided), with dark skies that allow for amazing stargazing, or gather inside the house for games and conversation in the game room (darts, pool table, card table), the great room, or in many cozy seating areas.

WINTER ACTIVITIES: A respite even in the winter, enjoy the lake with our 8’x8’ ice shack with two fishing holes, a small wood stove with wood provided. Ice skating, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and relaxing by the fire in the fire pit are all activities that you can enjoy. There is even a small gentle embankment for the “little ones” to sled on. There is easy access to local snowmobiling trails.

SUMMER/SPRING ACTIVITIES: Swimming, boating, paddle boarding, water-skiing, bird watching, and fishing are just some of the activities you can enjoy on the lake. Two kayaks (single and double occupant) and a canoe are available for use with paddles and life jackets. The public boat launch is just down the road if you wish to bring your trailered boat and the “U-shaped” dock system allows for easy and safe tie up and entrance on either side of your craft.

Enjoy multiple outdoor sitting areas: relaxing on the dock dangling your toes in the water, sunbathing on the patio, reading under the pergola, laughing with family and friends on the deck, or enjoying the flowers in the garden while the kids play on the swing set and adults playing horseshoes and cornhole.

The first floor of this gorgeous open architecture home is centered around the large gourmet kitchen which is well equipped to meet your cooking needs while your family and guests sit at the granite bar and enjoy the lake views through the large windows that bring the outside inside. The wrap around deck is accessed from the kitchen and the outside and has a six-burner stainless steel grill (propane provided) and ample seating. The first floor has a mudroom/entry hall, sitting room with television (woods view), great room/dining room with seating for eight (8) at the table and lake views to enjoy, and a full bathroom with a tile shower. There are two bedrooms on the first floor one with a lake view.

The second floor hosts the lake view master bedroom with king bed, walk-in closet, and a spa bathroom; a bedroom with a queen bed and lake views; and a woods view bedroom with full size bunk beds and a single/twin bed.

The lower level completes the house with walk out access to the patio; a game room with darts, pool table, and card table; a kitchenette with full-sized refrigerator and sink, a half bathroom, one bedroom with a queen bed, & television with spacious sitting area. Additionally, a heated outdoor shower is just outside of the lower level.

Nearby amenities include golf, shopping, Augusta (20 minutes away), Portland (one hour away), the ocean (Popham Beach is one hour away), and many other day trip opportunities.

We were greeted warmly by Ben the owner and he even helped us bring in supplies from our car to the house. He graciously showed us around and was available to answer any and all questions. He and his team were accessible and very responsive. The house was very clean and orderly upon arrival. There were plenty of water toys for all and the pontoon was great. The sandy beach area was perfect for our little children and the abundance of lounge chairs and seating outside was absolutely amazing. The lawn was lush and green and great to play games. The swing set was a big hit. The propane fire pit was a little underwhelming. We bought live lobsters at Hallowell Seafood and Produce - highly recommend. Gardiner Hannaford a quick 9 miles to get anything you want. We had 17 people aged 77 down to 22 months. Because of the combination of ages and genders the beds available weren't enough. We found a blow up bed which was used and our son brought a blow up bed as well. That more or less got us to the sleeping capacity, tho not entirely comfortable as the rooms with double beds and added blow up beds became one solid room with beds! The kitchen is large and very accommodating for our large group. Also the living room and family room provided space for everyone to be together. We never had issues with Wifi. Woodbury Pond was just perfect! Quiet, serene and very clean water! This is the place to stay if you like a more quiet vacation, away from it all. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful multi-general family vacation with our pets, at Ben’s beautiful lakefront home. The house accommodated us easily with a great kitchen area for meal prep, incredible water views, and lots of water and lawn toys for use by kids to adults, which we used daily. The area is majestic with the soothing calls from the loons, soaring eagles, and great fishing. Our group ranged in age from 9-94 and everyone enjoyed the property! Conveniently located near a grocery store and a great pizza place too. We had a few day trips that were all within an hour from the property. The owner, Ben, stopped by almost daily, to ensure we were enjoying the property and to answer any questions. He is very friendly and so accommodating. We highly recommend Ben and his home. Enjoy!

This was our second year spending a week with our family. There is plenty of space both inside and out. The outside seating areas have beautiful flowers. We enjoyed the sounds of the loons in the morning and evening while eating meals on the deck.

Once we got past the communication snafu around our check-in, which ended up working out okay but might not have, and which the owner pledged to resolve going forward, everything else about our stay was terrific. The home is on a beautiful piece of property with a wonderful, relaxing, lakeside setting, complete with kayaks and paddleboards. The home itself is simply furnished with everything needed, and the kitchen is well-stocked with anything a guest might need. The outdoor spaces are a big selling point. Ben, the owner, was very accessible and provided us with some good restaurant suggestions. We had a very enjoyable week!
