Casselman Inn

It was a comfortable cozy Inn in Grantsville, MD. We were in Garrett County for a family Christmas gathering

They didn't supply a hair dryer.

Disappointing.

The picture shows beautiful place . Once you arrive and get your room key you are then directed away from the beautiful house to a motel down the street. It was a huge shock but it was too late to change as we already paid.

Have stayed there many times. Great location and price. Nothing fancy but very comfortable.

Super clean. Very friendly staff. Good food at restaurant. Have 2 r rockers and desk and microwave which is more than a lot of expensive hotels.

Bathroom is very small but very clean.

The dinner at the restaurant was very good but the restaurant is closed on Sundays.

The restaurant was closed on Sundays so no breakfast was available which was a big disappointment. Lighting in the room was poor. WiFi was nonexistent as it went down every two minutes. There were no amenities so you have to bring your own soap, shampoo, etc. No hair dryer either. The television was too small to see from the bed. Would not stay again. Staff was not familiar with any of the sites in the area to sightsee.

Pleasant

I knew ahead of time that I may not have booked a room in the historic part of the inn instead of the motel, so I knew that was a possibility. My choice of breakfast(sausage gravy over biscuits) far exceeded my dinner choice of meatloaf(say yes when they ask if you want your order covered in gravy)... I didn’t and I regret that decision! Their homemade breads and pies are also highly recommended!

Even though I was aware of the possibility, I still would have preferred to have stayed in the historic part of the inn.

Nice room in the center of town. Once you park you can walk most everywhere.

You could hear showers, toilets and sinks in the room above us each time. Loud fire whistle in town.

Gem of Grantsville!

Nice bed and breakfast. Great food! The wife loved the surprise and the clubfoot bathtub. The history of the bed and breakfast was also very interesting. Will definitely stay again.

Don’t believe the rating of this place

The rating of 9 is misleading. It should be 5. The place is old. checking was lousy. They charged me twice. once through Booking.com and once direct through hotel even though i was told twice that we are placing the credit card on file only. i had to call back to ask for refund. toiletries was the worst i have seen. This was one of the worst place we stayed. We have stayed at thousands of places.

Awesome Historic B&B

Easy to find for out of towers. Staff soo polite. Clean facility. Many little areas to sit and lounge outside yur room. Breakfast in restaurant awesome.

Fantastic Casselman Inn and Dining

Beautiful Inn. Room was very comfortable and easily accessible in the motel section. Free wifi! Breakfast was delicious... french toast with their homemade bread. Eggs were perfect as well as the sausage and toast from homemade bread. Yummy!

Idea of the historic inn is better than the reality

On the National Register of Historic Places History of the building Antiques Good and diverse breakfast menu

We weren’t given enough info on check in about having to share a shower or where coffee was located, as neither were in our room. She also neglected to inform us that the Inn is Mennonite owned and we were prohibited from having a drink anywhere on the property; we could live with that but it should be listed on the website. Though clean, the wallpaper was peeling, the toilet seat was chipped, the carpet had stains, the room needed a complete remodel. They also ran what sounded like a carpet cleaner or vacuum until 2AM.
