Commonly known as "Copper Fox Lodge", a rare, 4-season, luxury-appointed, log cabin sitting on the rivers edge. Experience a gorgeous log cabin with upscale furnishings and touches. Cuddle up to a cozy stone fireplace. Relax with incredible riverfront views on one of America's natural scenic treasures - The Au Sable! Sit under towering pine trees. Cast a line in a legendary trout stream. This is an atmosphere most people never get to experience first hand. We love sharing our cabin with others and ultimately our greatest desire is that you have the most memorable vacation possible.
No matter the season, the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic getaway, anniversary, birthday, honeymoon, or intimate family vacation.
The cabin sits in a secluded river location with 12 acres of privacy and is for your exclusive use. Access to the river at the cabin is easy. There are no high banks to contend with and you have a half mile of wadable trout fishing water and lots of river structure in front of the cabin to hold trout. Brown, Rainbow, and Brook trout can be caught right out front.
In the warmer months common outdoor activities in the region include fishing, hiking, bird watching, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, tubing, golfing, ATV trail riding, and horseback riding. In the winter months things don't slow down as the temperatures, snowfall, and terrain make an ideal winter wonderland for hunting, snowmobiling, tubing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and even downhill skiing. The area is rich with outfitters supporting your canoe, kayak, tube, ATV, snowmobile, horseback, skiing, and fishing interests.
The Michigan roads in this region are well maintained year round. The access road to the cabin is also maintained year round catering to 2WD vehicles. We also have a Generac standby, whole house, generator - so you never need to worry about losing power in a storm and the fireplace will always keep you warm and cozy.
Nearby are the Holy Waters of the Au Sable, Mio Trophy Waters, and Masons Tract along the South Branch. Experience miles of groomed snowmobile trails throughout the region right from our doorstep. The region also sports numerous cross country ski trails, tubing hills, and even a few downhill slopes.

Beautiful property. Clean with all the amenities. Everything was as good or better than advertised. Saw plenty of wildlife everyday on the property. Nice slice of frontage on the AuSable with expansive view from the shore. Only issue was it rained for a portion of our stay, but the cabin has an excellent view from indoors with panoramic windows so it almost didn't matter. Would definitely book again.

My elderly parents, brother and I really enjoyed the cabin. But we had to leave Sundary because my mother got ill. We did truly enjoyed the time there, it was so beautiful and loved the birds and squirrels. Hopefully we will be able to come again and stay. Thanks

We had a wonderful stay. I am a disabled vet and have been struggling with lung and colon cancer for a little over a year and had the most relaxing and most stress relief week since I was diagnosed. I’m in my second round of chemo and felt good every day. I hope it’s Gods will to let me return for another stay. May God bless Jeff Beth and his family for having the want to make such a wonderful stay for everyone. Top of my list for the best vacation the Wife and I have had. Will recommend without hesitation to all our friends

Fantastic!
This is our second time to stay in this charming cabin. Peaceful, relaxing and charming. We loved listening to the beautiful, peaceful Au Sable River. Great outside activities. As Arnold would say, We’ll be back!

We discovered a little slice of paradise at the Copper Fox Lodge. Rain welcomed us. Birds entertained us. Au Sable River soothed us. Thanks for highlighting the Boardwalk Hike. The old growth cedars were truly remarkable. We're already dreaming of fly fishing on our next visit.

Peace and Tranquility
We were looking for a place that was private and offered peace and tranquility. We found it! The cabin was very well appointed and felt like home. The bottle of wine and homemade bread was a very nice added touch. Lounging by the river, doing some fly fishing (or at least trying) all the while watching and listening to the birds and wildlife was total relaxation. Our trip was much too short and we will be back! We loved the area!

We had a great time staying at the Copper Fox Lodge. The property was beautiful and well kept both inside and out and the view of the river was awesome. Everything you could ever need and then some was provided with the home. We were sad to go. We highly recommend staying here.

Amazing
This is an amazing property that offered everything we needed for a family getaway. Turkeys and deer walking through the property was awesome, as well as watching the mink play by the river. Fires at night with the rhythm of the Au Sable in the background is just what we needed. We look forward to visiting again.

Heaven on Earth at Copper Fox Lodge
Thanks so much for providing such a beautiful place to stay! The beauty of the grounds and cabin were outstanding. It was truly so serene and peaceful. We actually felt the stress just melt away upon our arrival, and the chilled bottle of wine was much appreciated! Two days just wasn’t long enough. We will be back!!

Beautiful setting
This is such a special place. It is absolutely lovely - nice and isolated and right beside the river. We were welcomed in the door by a fire on the fireplace, lamps lit, Christmas music playing - it was so cozy! I loved standing at the kitchen sink, watching the river go by. We were provided everything we needed to have a wonderful stay. Thanks Jeff and Beth!! I hope we can come back.

Copper Fox Lodge is simply Amazing! It was beautifully decorated, meticulously cared for and our stay was exceptional. The kitchen has every amenity needed and it was the cleanest cabin we have ever rented. The history of the cabin as outlined in the book on the coffee table was quite interesting. Copper Fox is within a short distance to all the Au Sable area has to offer. We love kayaking the Au Sable, fishing, and simply watching the river life pass by. I highly recommend this cabin and we will return in the future. Thanks to Jeff and Beth for sharing such a lovely cabin.

Tranquility and Luxury in one Fabulous Package
From the moment we arrived to soft lighting and mood music, to the moment of our departure with the AuSable bidding farewell, we felt as though we were honored guests. As owner Jeff Turner had promised, "Everything, everything, everything" was perfectly presented and thoroughly enjoyed. The grounds, the home, and all the appointments were immaculate and the décor was tasteful and elegant. We loved Copper Fox Lodge and we hope to return someday (as well as, perhaps, enjoy Gold Fox Lodge as well).

A River Runs Through It - MAGICAL!!
We wanted to escape the urban noise, chatter and nonsense and to witness the simplicity of tall pines and cedars, to re-energize. We found that and more. This cabin is seriously peaceful and Jeff and Beth are serious about making it a perfect place. It is comfortable beyond measure, beautiful beyond reason, and walking in the door for the first time is like going home. We did not want to leave. We have never given up our love of the stillness of the northern forests and firmly believe Ralph Waldo Emerson got it right: "In the woods we return to reason and faith." It rained on our last morning and we couldn't have had a better send-off; we took pictures of the rain falling off the roof, opened a window and listened to the music that rain produces, those interlocking melodies that heal wounds and make things grow. We did not want to leave. This place is a gift. Keep it close.

Heaven is Real
From the moment we drive in we were captivated. Copper Fox Lodge is truly a magical setting. The AuSable River is gorgeous and flows right below the cabin. Our cares simply washed away as we sat and watched the river and nature float by. It gets even better when you walk inside. The cabin is a dream. We’ve never seen furnishings this fine in any cabin rental – EVER. These owners have set the bar high in every respect. Comfort, comfort, comfort. We just couldn’t get over every detail that the owners addressed – they truly wanted to make our experience special – and it was. The river view from the cabin is to die for. We never wanted to leave. Private, serene, and romantic are perfect words. Pictures can not do justice to this place. Simply OUTSTANDING!

Absolutely Amazing!
The website and pictures do not do this cabin and property justice. Perfectly maintained with every amenity you can imagine. The cabin is kept in pristine condition...so clean!! The beautiful Au Sable River is steps away, 2 fire pits, outdoor screened gazebo, fully equipped kitchen, grill. The owners made awesome recommendations for dining and canoe rental as well. I would stay here again in a minute!

Peaceful - Magical - Perfection
This cabin is a true gem, the most welcoming place I've ever stayed in when heading north. I knew it was going to be a great place, and it still exceeded my expectations from the moment I entered! The lights were on, music playing, fireplace going, and a bottle of wine along with fresh-baked banana bread and welcome note awaited me. The cabin is decorated to perfection and by far the cleanest I have ever seen, and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on. I went thru ten pounds of black sunflower seeds and peanuts, plus a wood pecker suet, all bought in town, and delighted in all of the bird species, Keeping track of what I saw, not to mention all of the different types of squirrels! I saw my first eagles, which was thrilling, along with great white egrets, flying by daily! I will definitely be back to stay at this little piece of heaven again, with my young-adult kids, hopefully late summer when we can try our hand at fishing! This is the perfect place to unplug. Thank you for being so generous and sharing it with visitors!

Like Living in a Fairy Tale
From the moment of pulling in we were in awe. I immediately said to my family, this looks better than the pictures. Everything from the landscaping to the color and tones of Copper Fox Lodge just melded and exceeded anything I could have even imagined what it was going to be. I already knew this was not going to just be a place sitting on the amazing AuSable River. This was going to be an experience to never be forgotten. And we had not even gotten to the door to step inside! Instantly upon opening the door the combination of wonderfully pleasant scents, light music, refreshing air, and turning to the rear of the cabin, the view of the AuSable River, put us into a euphoric state with huge smiles. Words could not be thought of at the moment. Upon further examination, Copper Fox Lodge is kept immaculately clean. The attention to detail cannot be rivaled. Everything we thought we needed was there. I want to thank Jeff and Beth for accommodating us and working with me to deliver the perfect setting for an unforgettable experience that will not be my last at Copper Fox Lodge. I also want to thank Laurie and Rob for all of the hard work they put in on this property. It absolutely shows from the moment you get out of your vehicle, walk inside, and even once back home when we start asking each other if we noticed the different aspects we found absolutely amazing. Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention, the view and surrounding wilderness of the AuSable River at Copper Fox Lodge are second to none. It was my 1st trip to the AuSable River, and parts of the family I was able to experience this with have been coming up here since 1980, and they were blown away with the scenic beauty of Copper Fox. The pictures that are posted honestly don't do it justice. From ownership to housekeeping, this is a group of people that you can tell truly care about the quality of your AuSable River experience, take pride in the property they own/take care of, and are just amazing people to interact with. Any questions were answered and Laurie was the best. Thanks again, Jeff and the Copper Fox family for allowing us to experience this little beautiful cabin on the AuSable River.
