Spent 8 days here and it was amazing. It was close to everything we wanted to do. We absolutely did not want to leave!

2 bedroom 2 bath with a cool vibe!
Really nice back yard pool area & roof deck with ocean view. Great place for two couples or a family to have as a home base for vacation! Close to the airport but up around 1000ft where the nights are cooler.

Very nice house
The house is very nice and clean with a good selection of utensils in the kitchen. The pool is going to be cold in the winter. We knew that. There are a lot of chickens in the neighborhood. You are going to have your windows open to keep the house cool. You will hear them in the morning. We didn't mind them.

Pool contaminated and not in good running order
Ended up having to find another place half way through the trip. VRBO has not refunded our fee to them.

Tropical Paradise
My husband, our adult daughter, her husband, and I stayed at this lovely property. We are not resort people. We love to explore the history and customs at the various places we visit. This property was in Kona and afforded us the many opportunities of exploring. Driving to Hilo a few days, about two hours, including doing a zip line....was exceptional. However, the best aspect of this property was the exceptional communication of the management (Hailey) and her expert Erin. We felt comfortable letting them know when we needed dishwasher soap, or extra towels. The fast responses were greatly appreciated! Having access to laundry facilities was a plus and our family enjoyed the pool. We visited in January, a rainy time, but used the pool between raindrops. Living in Los Angeles, we enjoyed the rain since we get very little. It is a privilege to be able to have a place to stay that is well kept and that you can feel secure. We would stay here again if only we can be assured that Hailey and Erin were still part of the management team!

The home was lovely and nicely decorated. My husband, adult daughter, her husband and I enjoyed our stay immensely. The management company, with Hailey and Erin, was incredible! Best communication I have experienced in renting vacation homes! The owners are fortunate to have this team! Simple requests like more towels or soap for the dishwasher were quickly fulfilled. The pool was lovely---cool on the days it rained [January is the rainy season on the island] but nice on the warmer days. We enjoyed grabbing the ripe mangoes from the tree for breakfast! We cut the giant gardenias and placed them in a glass to add fragrance to the house [I grow gardenias as a hobby, so this was particularly fun] The house is well ventilated --we closed the house when we were out [in case of rain], then opened windows and doors for cross ventilation--with the fans provided in each room, this was very comfortable.
My family and I enjoyed the proximity to Kona Coffee, luau, beach, and restaurants. They even have LYFT if you do not want to drive! Getting to Hilo was about 2 hours . Our donkey tour was cancelled because Hilo had flash floods. Driving in that rain made for white knuckles. We did go ziplining with Skyline Eco-Adventures at Akaka Falls [highly recommend--ask for Charles]. Light rain but dynamite views!
It was nice to come home to our 'Island home' after our activities. The four of us had space so we could read, swim, watch TV, or walk. We would definitely come back to this gem on one condition, that Hailey and Erin would be part of the team. Exceptional management company! Brava! Bev

We’d definitely go back. The pool was awesome to have.

Great Kona stay
Perfect location near several gorgeous beaches. Comfortable and smooth communication. Light sleepers may be bothered by neighborhood rooster calls that begin very early. With no A/C the windows will likely be open. Great pool!

Private piece of paradise
We just left Kona Paradise and already making plans to book again for next year. The house has everything anyone can imagine, quality furnishings, comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen and a very cozy outdoor area where we spent most of our afternoons. We enjoyed long morning walks through the quiet neighborhoods, watching the spectacular sunsets in the evening and stargazing at night (on one clear night we were actually able to spot the elusive Andromeda!). We got a good use of the pool every day and cooked most of our meals on the outdoor grill. The house was squeaky clean when we arrived, is spacious, very private, on a quiet street, and 10-15 minutes away from the main shopping areas and the touristy Ali'i Drive. Hailey, the property manager, was the perfect hostess, making sure every step of the way that we had everything we needed. And lastly, Mahalo to the owners for sharing their beautiful home with us. We are going home relaxed, happy and rested, now the hard part is to wait for another year to return.

Very nice house with a few minor issues
This property is a very well appointed rental, with nice facilities, a very nice pool, nicely appointed kitchen with plenty of available cookware for entertaining, and the bathrooms and bedrooms are quite nice. The absolute best attribute of the property is the pool and outdoor patio area, which is mostly private, and the neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful.
Issues I discovered once in the property seemed to be the result of property management neglect. There were many signs that made it obvious the property had not been occupied recently, which would not be an issue but for the fact that properties still need some bit of upkeep and care-taking even if not occupied. For instance, the small patio outside the master bedroom was filthy and had not been cleaned in quite a while. There were many dead bugs on the floors inside the unit. The water level of the pool was so low as to make the pump function inoperable (this could damage that function, as the pool maintenance person explained to me on the day he visited). The ceiling fan in the master had one speed, low, as has been mentioned by other renters, so it should be replaced. There is an issue with the plumbing in that every time water is used--a toilet flushed, water run in the dishwasher or sinks, the washing machine run---there is a very loud squealing noise emanating from the pipes (I highly recommend getting a plumber out to take a look). Lastly, the toilet in the master bath had to be replaced because it was leaking water.
While these issues did not impact my enjoyment of the unit dramatically, they did detract from my overall enjoyment of the unit during my stay. Having maintenance staff visit me twice in 2 days to repair a broken toilet was a bit intrusive. These are the reasons I would give the property a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating. It's a nice place overall, but there is certainly room for improvement in the upkeep of the property, particularly given the pricepoint of the rental.

Quiet and relaxing place
We had almost 3 weeks and wish we could have stayed longer. The house is well equipped and nicely decorated. We also had a problem with the pool pump but the property manager fixed it the very next day. We enjoyed the morning hours at the pool side and the sunsets on the upper deck. Kohanaiki beach park and O'oma beach are close by and really nice with natural shadow and zones for surfer, swimmer, and children as well. Everything else what people could need is nearby. Thanks, VACASA!

Beautiful Kona Bungalow
Beautiful small Kona hillside home, with beautiful pool. Nice centralized area, close to beaches, fishing, etc. No AC, and the winds were very light during our stay, so nights we’re a little uncomfortable. The pool pump & filter system was not operational for the first 5 full days of our 7 day stay (arrived on Wednesday, pool pump repaired on the following Monday). The local Property Manager was not very responsive.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
I'll start with the good. The house is really nice and well appointed. Due to the walls and landscaping, it's fairly private and it's located in a nice quiet neighborhood. The patio seating area and the pool is awesome!
The bad: There is no AC so when we closed everything up and left for the day, the house was really hot and stuffy when we got back. Even after opening all of the windows, it took a while to cool it down to where it was bearable. Also, the kitchen and master bedroom ceiling fans only have one speed: slow, so they were kind of useless. Thank goodness the owner put a couple of floor fans in the house otherwise we would have been very uncomfortable.
When we first got there, the ceiling fan in the master wasn't working so I contacted the house manager and they sent someone over. Unfortunately when the electrician came by to fix it (which wasn’t even worth it because the blades barely turned afterwards) due to him turning off the power to the house, it shut off the pool waterfall and vacuum so we didn't get to enjoy the waterfall, and by the time we left the pool was a mess mostly due to the gardener coming by and cutting the grass and getting half of it into the pool. Also, the outside outlet for the patio lights was not working, which the electrician was supposed to fix but didn't.
The ugly: We had gotten an email in the morning saying that the house was ready and we could check in at any time. We got there at 12:30 pm and when we opened the door there was smelly laundry everywhere, all the trash cans were full, and the beds were unmade. The house was hot, stuffy, and stinky because the previous tenants had checked out two days prior and no one had come by to clean it. I immediately called Vacasa and they said: oh, sorry there must be some mistake... ya think?? Anyway, long story short, we unpacked and waited on the patio for the maids to come by and clean. Four hours later we finally had a clean house but after the maids left, we realized they had taken our coconut oil and some food we'd put on the counter! Thank goodness I told them not to clean the fridge or we probably would have had all our groceries disappear as well! The good news is that after reporting all this to the property manager, they did give us a credit on our stay which helped counterbalance the half a day we wasted waiting for a clean house. Nice house but the property management, maintenance, and housekeeping leave little to be desired!

Piece of Heaven!
We loved this rental home! Beautifully decorated, spacious home away from home! We enjoyed our 1 week stay and relaxed in the pool. Close to town and shopping area. Loved the cool breeze flowing throughout the house and we will rent this home again!

Beautiful vacation home!
Every thing was exactly like shown in the picture, but more beautiful in person! The only negative was the ceiling fan in the Master bedroom did not work. The cool breeze came thru the open windows and there were two oscillating fans that worked great! Over all I would say this is a 5 star rating and would love to stay again when in Kona!

Truly a Paradise
We only had one week, but wish we had more. This cute little bungalow is located 10 min from airport, high up against the mountain, that the tropical breezes were so relaxing. We were also close to Costco, the harbor for fishing & diving events and 10 min drive to Alaii drive for Kona shopping & were Ironman runs. A short drive north landed us in Waikaloa where there is terrific shopping at Queens & Kings shopping center, fantastic beaches. This house had all the amenities that we needed. The owners had left us with papayas on the tree, they provide the picker, limes, lettuce/tomatoes/basil. We didn't spend that much time inside, most of it was by the pool, enjoying the tanning shelf and falling asleep to the waterfall sounds. It came to life at night with the party lights that lit up the gazebo, pool lights, really enchanting. Up on the rooftop deck, enjoyed sipping wine while watching the sunset and enjoying the ocean view. The place was so relaxing & quiet. We will definitely be back, only this time, for much longer.

Perfect Thanksgiving
My boyfriend and I came over for a long Thanksgiving vacation. The house was very clean and comfortable, but the best part was the private pool. The landscaping makes the whole backyard, pool, and patio area very private. You cannot see any neighbors, nor can they see you. We spent ALL our time out there. Every meal as well. There were a few days we didn't even leave the house. The neighborhood was very quite, and the house was quite close to shopping and just a few minutes from the beach. We'll definitely be back!
