It was clean and bug free and a great location . I love the 2 bath model with one bedroom on one floor. The place itself is in need or a remodel. Cabinet doors were hanging and unable to close. Some were nailed closed and items inside not accessible for use. Toilet seat loose and replaced quickly by maintenance ..Dishes and serving pieces were a yard sale collection. We had most of what we needed but it was a shabby collection.

We stayed in our one room condo in June/July. The house was clean and organized. We were missing sheets for the couch bed and we finally got some after contacting the after hours people. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. There is only one ac unit in the bedroom but there were fans and open windows In the couch bed room to help cool it off.

Upon our arrival we noticed the screen door was laying on the ground. Called renter to let them know. Maintenance came to fix the door however he put the door on backward and we weren’t able to use the patio area. The first night it was extremely hot because we couldn’t open the glass door. When you sit on the sofa you sink really low making it extremely hard for us to get up. The ac in bedroom doesn’t get really cold and we had to buy a fan because the rental was so hot.

Pros: We had a beautiful two-week stay at Turtle Bay, Estates in a nice location located on the 1st hole of the George Fazio golf course on the North Shore of Oahu. The condo was well cleaned with good security, parking, quiet and very comfortable. The price was very affordable and I found the staff helpful to meet our needs prior to arrival.
Cons: The residence was built in 1973 and the appliances are in sad need of replacement. It was apparent that the owners were operating as cheap as possible putting little resources into the dwelling. Metal fixtures were rusting and paint peeling. The washer leaked (slightly) and the dishwasher did not work. When I called, the manager told me that they were awaiting a part which never appeared. Don’t know why I was not informed from the beginning. The burners on the stove were replaced with universal burners, which did not fit, so we had to cook food sideways. The bed mattress sadly sags in the middle and needs to be replaced. The gate entrance codes given did not work initially (this also happened to several other renters) and we had to wait in the rain for a resident to open the gate. Once we had the fob, there were no entrance problems. It was fun to observe the two resident geckos.
Conclusion….It is what it is for the price. We were quite comfortable. If you are expecting a luxury hotel, you will be sadly disappointed. The condo quite adequately meets our needs in price, coziness, cooking meals, and a romantic location. I would stay again and look forward to returning! JP

The house is very run down, not well maintained and generally dingy. The screens are broken and would not close. Cabinet doors were crooked and would not close. Mattress is worn out. The food and staff at the nearby restaurant was very good.

We stayed at this condo for our honeymoon in December/January. We absolutely loved the location (right on the golf course and by the pool). We loved how close the beach was as well. We would stay here again for any future trips to Oahu. We have highly recommended this location to friends and family.

Barely Okay
When we arrived, the code for the gate was not accurate so we had to call the main number and they were able to remedy it quickly with a one time code. The unit is extremely dated. There is one air conditioner in the bedroom for the whole unit, which was in the back. There was one extremely dusty/dirty fan in the living room that was broken. Sitting in the living area in the afternoon was not possible, it gets extremely warm and there is no curtain/shade on the small window next to the sliding doors so the sun is in your face. The views to the golf course were beautiful, the pool was nice and accessible easily enough. Patio furniture was broken (table and chair). Dishes were dirty and I washed everything before we used them. The bed was extremely uncomfortable for both of us. In this case, we got what we paid for. I was looking for inexpensive and we definitely got what we paid for. We would not return to this unit, even at the price. The location is good.

Gave the stay a 2 for the responsiveness of the Management Company and the price, but the owner really needs to spend a little money on the unit. Cabinets are particle board and one cabinet door fell off when we opened it. The shower in the master was unusable as the surround and curtain is unable to contain water and the only A/C unit in the bedroom leaked water onto the rug under the bed (smelled mouldy). The unit was not very clean as the slats on the closet doors were coated in dirt and the screens had spider webs. The unit is in a good community at Turtle Bay and sits on the golf course. Nice little beach at the resort and excellent food at Roys and Mai Tai's at the resort's poolside bar. The property management company was very responsive and brought extra towels for us to sop up water the next morning. They also continued with follow up. Good we were only there for 3 nights.

Great location for golf, just next to 2 good courses. Whole renting process was very well orchestrated. Price was good for the amount of time we spent there. The condo is dated, needs a lot of work, there were ants everywhere, no A/C in the main living area except a small wall unit in the bedroom, but for the price I paid am happy. We were able to cook all our meals and saved a ton of money compared to most Hawaiian vacations. The house gets really hot and have to leave the doors open to get a nice flow of air. No big hotel amenities here. Just down to earth place to crash and cook nice meals.

We had a horrible experience. the ac in the bedroom was leaking and the water reached the rug under our bed then one of the bathroom was clogged. we called the after hours emergency but that was no help, could not help us until the next day. I think someone showed up around 11:00 am the next day. very uncomfortable and dirty. the owner should put some money in that place and fix it up a bit.

The house is well decorated, but really old. We asked for maintenance twice in 3 weeks. The kitchen cabinets are falling apart and is necessary to be replaced. The baseboards are full of termites. And the kitchen smells like cockroach, and there is some of them living inside the cabinets. The bed is the worst, me and my husband had a lot of back pains during the stay. It’s a nice place to stay, but I don’t recommend nobody to stay there, unless the owner renew the kitchen cabinetry, changes the bed and solve the cockroach and termites problem. The management company was very professional and agile, so I’ll probably come back, but in another property.

The Hula House was clean, I'll give it that, but otherwise, somewhat disappointing. The entire unit smelled musty and old. Not surprising since there is a single AC unit for the entire apartment that is located in the bedroom at the very front of the condo. Needless to say, the cooled air did nothing more than slightly cool off the bedroom. The remainder of the unit stayed warm and humid. The bed was probably one of the most uncomfortable, firm mattresses I have ever slept on. The furniture was incredibly old , falling apart, and not working correctly. The toilets did not flush properly and the toilet located in the bathroom in the bedroom leaked every time it was flushed. The front cover of the dishwasher nearly fell off the first time the washer was opened. Pretty sure the hot air from the dryer cycles right back to the top of the dryer and into the condo, which combined with the lack of AC, led to a particularly tropical environment inside. Oh and did I mention there's no Wi-fi?!?!?!!??!? How is that even an option these days????? My advice to you is, spend the extra 10-20$ per night and avoid this old, dying unit. We saw the inside of several of the other condos and it was a night and day difference!

The place is basically falling apart. The kitchen appears the original kitchen from when it was built in 1930! Appliances and utinsils hardly work. The TV is a ridiculous box TV that doesn’t even have cable channels. It must be the oldest most outdated condo in the entire complex. And you have to drive opposite direction of the airport to drop off the keys to the offsite management co vs just leaving the keys in the unit. Such an inconvenience!

The rental agency is great, nothing against them. There are 2 wine glasses. One normal size, one child sized. I guess if your child needs wine they got you covered. If you like dead bugs, you can find them in the drinking glasses. The towels are new and fresh and you need them to put down to sit on the couch and chairs. You get the idea. For a budget it is fine and livable, for a relaxing vacation you may want to think about another unit.

Turtle Bay is a wonderful place. The management company here was horrible. Called them 5 days in a row to fix air conditioning. It was fixed the day before we left with no compensation. The manager never returned any calls and was never available.
