About this house rental

Built in the 1920s for Captain Myron Garrish, this historic island home has been enlarged and completely renovated down to the studs. The foundation has been raised, the ceiling has been raised, and now it is time to raise your expectations for a pleasant and comfortable step back in time on the island’s most historic sandy lane.
Snuggled within the ancient live oaks, Howard St is a quiet and peaceful place on the island, yet this home is located just steps away from restaurants, shops and the magical Silver Lake harbor. Right next door is our other home, the beloved Elsie’s House, so you have the opportunity to rent both if you need more space for larger family gatherings.
Featuring open living space, 3 comfortable bedrooms, and luxury baths we believe you will feel at home as soon as you walk in. The front porch will be your perch to relax and become an O’Cocker, even if it’s just for a little while. Come enjoy!

It has been way too long since our last visit to Ocracoke and Myron's Place was a fantastic place to stay for our return. My wife and I took a long weekend and enjoyed the quiet of Ocracoke. Myron's Place was newly renovated, and we loved the attention to detail. The place was spotless upon our arrival and the host was responsive and fantastic to work with. Definitely plan to revisit!

This home could not have been more comfortable and accommodating. The attention to detail in this historical home was amazing, with all of the modern amenities. We would LOVE to stay here again one day.

Location was ideal for our first visit to Ocracoke, everything was within walking distance giving so much flexibility and independence for the older kids. House was fabulous, so cosy and had everything we needed for a much needed vacation away from home. Only problem was we couldn't stay longer!

Loved the history of the island that comes with this home. We are not first timers to Ocracoke, but this was our first time staying on Howard St. , and it felt like a “locals” street. Kathy was a great host. The home had comfortable furnishings and a great style. Loved the outdoor shower!

We headed over to Ocracoke for the first time to celebrate my daughters 30th birthday. Her boyfriend was with us and there was a surprise engagement that took place in the driveway of Myron's place. Myron's place is a really nice spot - great location - wonderfully decorated - very comfortable. Really nice outdoor seating. Highly recommend.

We’ve stayed at several places in Oracoke, all of which have been amazing, but this spectacular home on Howard Street was nothing less than perfect. Beautifully and comfortably decorated, well equipped for meals at home if desired outside of all of the delicious local spots within walking distance and an outside shower that was a hit with all. Kathy, the owner, was quick to respond and just a delight. We are already planning our next stay. Thank you Kathy for sharing your beautiful home with us. ❤️

Clean. Beautiful. Great location. Can’t say enough about our wonderful stay. The host even went out of her way to assist in returning items we mistakenly left behind. (Getting out to that 7:30 am ferry was a bit crazy on our end.). Was in town for a wedding and had many family staying at other locations. They agreed hands down our was the best! Will definitely return!
