About this house rental
Built in 1893 as the Lewisville School House, now has been reformed into the Newhouse Family Inn. We have 2 bedrooms with a shared bath and 1 bedroom with a private bath. You will have full access to the common room, dinning area and kitchen. We are less than 60 miles away from Indianapolis and its many venues such as, Lucas oil stadium, Indianapolis motor speedway, and Bankers life fieldhouse. Less than an hours drive to Indianapolis airport. We are on the Historic National Road (40) and in the middle of antique alley. The Blue room has a king bed with shared bathroom, The School house room has a queen bed with shared bathroom. Both on the first floor. The Rose room is on the second floor (no elevator) has a queen bed and private bathroom. We just added an additional room that has a double bed, queen size sleeper sofa and a day bed. We can accommodate up to 11 guests now!

The hosts thought of everything to make this place special … bottled water, hand towels and slippers, tea and oatmeal, festive decorations everywhere, spices and kitchen extras, and sweet little homey touches throughout.
The host was exceptionally kind. We will definitely seek his properties out for future stays to visit family!

We were visiting my younger sister who just purchased a condo in New Castle so we wanted to stay nearby. My mom traveled with me and my two kids (5 and 13). The house was perfect as my mom had her own space and we could all spread out. Everything was well stocked and the kids loved the games. My mom enjoyed the bedroom with the attached bathroom. Definitely a perfect place for future visits and big enough to bring my husband and other sister along with too. Thank you!

My wife, teenage son, and I have visited many Vrbo properties, but this one stands out for its charm and the property manager's attention to detail. The photos of the interior don't do it justice; every room - including the kitchen - is filled with memorabilia that seems plucked from a movie set. (The difference is that these items are authentic rather than staged.) Additionally, the host's attention to detail is wonderful - there are instructions and courtesies everywhere, down to water bottles placed on both sides of every bed. We had a wonderful stay, and look forward to returning.

The Newhouse Family Inn was a perfect place for our family of 6 to gather. We especially enjoyed the well stocked kitchen - coffee and bottled water were appreciated! Books, games, DVDs, robes and slippers were a nice added touch! Quick communication with the owner made the process easy. Thanks for a great stay!

The history behind the house is very unique and interesting. Slippers, robes, and bottled water were a very nice touch. As well as the games and books. We were in town for the basketball tournaments going on at the New Castle high school. The house is just a short drive and fit our needs perfectly.

We looked for a place to collaborate and get work done. The Wifi was great; the place provides space and amenities. It was a great choice for us.

Loved this beautiful place , plenty of room for a large family. Books to read games to play nice big beautiful yard quiet area kitchen well stocked coffee , bottled water. And the history of the schoolhouse just amazing I would recommend this place and will love to stay again in the future

Family Visit
The property was nice and spacious. Check in and check out were easy and the host was great. Answered all questions. Coffee supplies and bottled water along with breakfast treats if so desired. The reasons I did not give the property a 5 for cleanliness is there was some leftover items in the fridge from previous guests. It needed to be wiped out as there were some crumbs and stuff. I also wiped down one of the sinks the mirrors as they had some leftover residue on them. Over all not bad but just needed some fine details cleaned up.

Wonderful VRBO
We loved staying at the old schoolhouse! The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked. It was very spacious, comfortable and clean. We will definitely return when we’re in the area.

Our group liked the proximity to events in Richmond and Knightstown. We had plenty of room and privacy. Accommodations and overall experience exceeded our expectations.

Wonderful Small Town Spacious Getaway
A beautiful relaxing spacious antique home that feels just like home when you walk in. The owners were wonderful to communicate with and had everything ready for us. The kitchen was Stocked well with dishes and pans and the coffee bar was a special treat! We came for a funeral and having a home for everyone in the family to enjoy was comforting. Thank you for sharing this little gem!

A cute & cozy place to rest and relax
Communication, friendliness, cleanliness, this owner knows their stuff. The duplex apartment was extremely inviting, and the hundreds of DVD’s had entertained everyone for the entire night. Came stocked with waters, and the owner checked with me several times to make sure everything was good. Highly recommend to anyone who might just be passing through, or if you’re just looking for a new place to crash. The only thing i was disappointed about was the fire pit... Or the lack of, the listing had stated there was a fire pit so i had my friends bring fire wood, we got there and there was no fire pit of any sort.

Girls Night
We had a great time staying at your lovely home. We have 4 generations of family members that get together every year for a fun night of games and togetherness with girls only. Your home worked out perfectly. The extra touches like bottled water and slippers were greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Perfect for a family!
This home was a perfect fit for our needs. The house had lots of room to spread out and was extremely comfortable. The owners are super attentive and kind.

Relaxing
Finding the house was very simple. John met us at the door and gave us a tour of the home. He provided some history behind the house which was really neat. The beds were very comfortable. Not one of our group of 10 had any complaints about not being able to sleep. The kitchen is very well equipped. There were breakfast supplies provided which was very much appreciated. John made certain we had everything we needed. We had plenty of everything and did not require extras. We have rented homes previously from VRBO and none have been as nice as this one. This is the first time we did not have to clean the house upon arrival. We would like to thank John and Charolette for their wonderful hospitality. We will definitely rent this home the next time we visit my husband's family.

Wonderful get away
I loved the location, the hosts, and the house. It was very clean. The breakfast was phenomenal and I will be making reservations to stay there again. It was very comfortable and my family loved it
