About this house rental
Home has been completely remodeled recently. Spacious bedrooms with great views of lake. Large dining room to accommodate bigger families or multiple families. Home has a huge deck facing the lake, great fun to gather with friends and watch the boats go by. This is an ideal location for visitors to Colon, walking distance to two of Colon's magic shops and any of the downtown restaurants. Located adjacent to the boat launch and park, you can bring your own boat and keep your trailer parked close by.
Colon is the Magic Capitol of the World, located 2 hours from Chicago and Detroit, and easy to get to from the Indiana Toll Road and I-94. Colon offers the charm of a small community with plenty to offer in recreation. Colon is located is St. Joseph County, the County is well known for it's lakes and waterways and first class public parks offering mountain biking trails, disc golf and lots of opportunities to enjoy the woods and water. There are several great golf courses near Colon as well.

This was the perfect place for me at a time when I needed a mixture of solitude and lots of space for a large family gathering one morning. A comfortable and welcoming space, and the host was very responsive to a question about the thermostat. The fall color was incredible on the lake!

This property was just right for our crew to gather after Christmas, and spend some time gaming, puzzling, and just enjoying each other’s company. The space was adequate for us to spread out and be together, comfortable beds throughout the house, and all the amenities we needed. Thanks for a great time!

This is the second time my family and I have stayed at Tim's property in Colon. Everything was as wonderful this year as last. We enjoyed the dining area to play games, and I enjoyed using the spacious kitchen for making all of our meals. There is also a small diner within walking distance that is definitely worth checking out. My family loves it here, and we will definitely be back again.

We had a fabulous family early Christmas at Tim’s home, it was very comfy and nice and warm, pretty much everything one could need, the only thing I would recommend is a stair gate.
The views of the lake were amazing, we had a great stay.

This property was amazing! The Kids loved swimming and fishing off the dock. The paddle boat and kayaks were great and the little park was an added bonus. The house was clean and very well maintained. We can tell that the owners take pride in this house. We will come back to this property!

This was my first time staying in Colon, Michigan usually we stay in Three Rivers. The property was beautiful. It has a vintage yet, new feel we love. Just a few things...We used the pattle boards, fire pit, board games, huge deck, has beautiful view of the lake and my daughter loved the kitchen display on top of the microwave and other "little touches". The host makes you feel like you are at home. This is perfect for a family getaway. Also, Loved it was steps away from the downtown and the history of the town "Magic/Magician inspired". We tried the Bar-Grill Curlys on State. It was walking distance from the house. I definitely recommend to add to your stay.

Clean & Comfortable
We did not spend a lot of time on the property as we were in town for a family reunion taking place at a home nearby. We just used it to sleep and shower. House was very clean and comfortable. Nice big deck overlooking the lake. Walking distance to town which is also a plus.

Wrap around deck facing wide open east and south views was great.
The check in was smooth and the host is very prompt in communicating with you.
This property is set in a cove of Palmer Lake in between the dam and boat launch, the deck offered a great view and you can see all the boats coming and going.
The paddle boat and kayak seemed to be unused for a long period of time however there is a hose attached to the deck and a good hose down did the trick. Having your own boat or jet ski would make the stay perfect but the girls and my girlfriend and I did enjoy taking the paddle boat out.
The property has a sea wall front so there is not a sandy beach area, we would stay there again but would definitely be sure to have some kind of boat or jet ski rental.

Beautiful lakeside retreat in a small town
My family and I had an amazing stay at this beautiful home on the lake. The neighborhood was super quiet, and yet the property is within walking distance to some amazing diners and restaurants. I loved walking out on the back deck and hearing the water flow through the nearby dam. We had a great time playing board games on the spacious dining room table and made good use of the well stocked kitchen. I did have a couple of minor questions for Tim while we were there and he was always quick to respond. We definitely plan to come back to this lovely property.

Awesome place. 2nd time here. Pontoon a must!! Steeply little sweet town. 22-28 miles to big stores and McDonald’s!!! It’s a wonderful place. Owners very nice.

Fantastic Lakefront Home
My family spent our vacation in this fantastic home. We were very impressed by the photos and information in the listing. When we arrived we found that it exceeded our expectations. The home was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. The deck is huge with wonderful views overlooking the lake. Air conditioning was great on the hot days. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant. The property owner, Tim, was very kind and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and hope to return one day!

Lovely home on water. Great deck and very clean and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Check out Dawn’s Diner up the street for breakfast! Thank you Tim!

Great Place for Any Occasion
This place is truly a, "diamond in the rough." Everything as advertised, completely remodeled from top to bottom with a nice selection of rooms to accommodate any type of group. Our group really enjoyed the wraparound deck, the great scenery of the lake/damn area, and of course the proximity to the downtown area. Cant say enough about the hospitality that the owners provide. From the welcome letter that includes all of the information you will need for the entire stay, to the quick responses should you need anything during your stay. We were very grateful to find such accomodating hosts for our party and would recommend this place to anyone should they be lucky enough to come across. We will definitely be back! Wonderful place to stay
My family and I had a great time at this lake house. Extremely clean and comfortable. The kayaks were wonderful. We didn’t have much luck fishing but had a great time tubing and skiing. All you can eat shrimp or fish dinner on Thursday night at Curly’s was wonderful! Would definately stay here again!

Best vacation family vacation 2019
We have four children. The house is so loved. The wrap around deck overlooks lake. The family used available kayaks. 100's of fireflies at night. Kiddie park right next to house. We walked to the bait store for out of state fishing license caught a 5lb catfish that was tasty. Only time I cooked that week. Walked to the homemade pizza place, neighborhood cafe. Walked to library, pharmacy sent little kids to store with 2 bucks to buy candy like we did when I was young. We live in the suburbs where you need a car to go anywhere. Board games at night in spacious open kitchen/dining. So much space. Owner Tim was personable and quick response if we had a question. I dont have any complaints and would stay again anytime we are back in Michigan. We made some memories.

Fantastic family fun getaway
Had a fantastic family getaway to the lake house The house was clean and spacious and the owners were very attentive and available. The kids really enjoyed the kayaks -They went multiple times to check out the turtle area of the lake and really enjoyed themselves The guys fished and caught a few fish We are booked again for next year and can’t wait to go back!! Thank you to the Stolls for their hospitality !!

We loved our stay!
The house is as pictured and extremely clean. It is within walking distance of several great restaurants. The deck is a great place to hang out and entertain. The owner was extremely responsive and easy to work with. He even brought us an additional oar for the kayak. We would stay here again next time we are in the area.

Fabulous
House was just as described. Very well furnished and very clean. Local grocery store and family dollar for any needed supplies. I do recommend Yoder's General Store in Centreville for awesome bakery and home made food items. You can walk downtown to any shops or restaurants. The view of the lake was beautiful and we loved sitting on the deck and watching all the lake activities. Owner was excellent to work with and very quick to respond to any questions.

Tim and Family were great host. The house is very spacious and directly on the lake. We were able to host 4th of July with Family here with plenty of room! Tim was very helpful. Colon Michigan was a great find! We had a blast.
