Just a short stroll from Arc House you can explore the old wynds and lanes leading down to the seafront in the picturesque fishing village of Cellardyke, with a sandy beach and old harbour. There is a water sports centre with sea kayaking and open canoeing available for you to explore the shore line with expert tuition. The Fife Coastal Path can be joined here, and in either direction you can enjoy fantastic coastal views over the Firth of Forth and which takes you to pretty fishing villages, secluded coves and white sandy beaches.

Anstruther is just a 5-minute walk away with its working harbour, local pubs, seafront coffee shops, fish and chip shops, galleries and shops. Freshly caught fish and shellfish are available locally, including lobster, crabs and white fish. From April to September there are daily ferries and boat trips leaving from Anstruther that take you to the Isle of May, which is a National Nature Reserve and home to colonies of sea birds, including puffins. The surrounding waters are the habitat of seal colonies and makes a great day out for the family.
